This is for a suggestion from JigglyJelloWithCoconut who asked for Guardians of the Galaxy, a suggestion that, as you can see delighted me so much you're all getting a quicker than usual update!

Guardians of the Galaxy
It was half way through the movie and Bones was beginning to think it might kill him if the Captain and Scotty did not stop singing along to every single song.
"The soundtrack's awesome!" Kirk yells above Scotty's enthusiastic rendition of Hooked on a Feeling.
"Does that really mean you have to sing along?"
"Really Bones where's your sense of fun."
"Hmm, maybe somewhere near the bottom of this" Bones grunts, peering into a half finished bottle of brandy.
"Well keep at it Bones, I promise if you do you'll be singing along with the rest of us by the end."
"I don't know if I can cope with much more of this" Bones wails – "Besides what kind of a view of the future is this where people were envisioning the heroes of the day would be a tree and a talking racoon -"
"I am enjoying the character of this tree" Spock breaks in pleasantly.
"- and this loser and a green person." Bones finishes up. Kirk and Spock both turn in unison to look at him frighteningly.
"May I ask doctor what the relevance of the character's greenish pigmentation is to their Inter – galactic abilities?" Spock asks far too pleasantly, eyebrows far too active for the doctor's liking.
"Aww shit" he mumbles, a sinking feeling swamping him that is not aided by Scotty's background warbling of It's not easy being green.
"I like her" Uhura pipes up.
"She looks a little like you Uhura" Kirk adds. Uhura squints at the screen for a bit.
"Nope" she shrugs after a while - "Don't see it."
With the exception of some gently boisterous Scottish warbling they continue in silence for the next few minutes. Next time it is Spock who breaks it;
"I confess captain, I too am unfamiliar with this Terran legend of Kevin Bacon; might one request clarification?"
Kirk laughs –
"Not now Spock, next week we'll watch Footloose and it'll all make sense."
" – and she is right –" Spock continues – "It does sound unnecessarily cruel to place any manner of stick into a person's rectum."
"Spock!" Kirk groans, face palming, silently hoping that the guardians are not real people for fear that Spock, Gamora and Drax might ever meet and create a nightmare of literal interpretation it would take a far more patient man to clarify.
Half an hour later Kirk looks over to notice that Spock is watching intensely and has on what Kirk alone knows to be his emotional face – it is almost identical to his usual face but for a slight crinkling of the forehead and around the eyes. He does not say anything for as long as he can help it but eventually he cracks –
"Spock are you getting emotional- over a tree?" he teases.
"I have got to see this" Bones swivels round in his chair, under which scrutiny Spock swiftly erases any crinkling from his face, sits up straighter and responds, far more awkwardly than usual –
"The tree is exceptionally noble and self-sacrificing."
He winces inwardly to hear himself say this, wondering if it not the most ridiculous thing he has ever said in his life. Still it takes all of his self control and lessons in meditation to not show how pleased he is when Groot re-appears at the end as a dancing sapling.
Half an hour after the movie's finish at least half the crew are still singing the Pina Colada Song, whilst Bones snores and Spock looks on with vague interest. Kirk smiles at him benignly;
"Actually" he says – "I rather do like Pina colada" he frowns for a moment in the noise that surrounds them – "And I think I may need some if this continues."
It continues. Indeed, as Scotty rigs The Awesome Tape up to the ship's sound system to play out across all decks on repeat – it continues for days.

I'm sorry for those who haven't had a chance to watch Guardians yet – this will make no sense! Since I was particularly obsessed with the soundtrack and have, like Scotty, been playing The Awesome Tape on repeat since the film came out that was where I put most of the focus here. And in case anyone was wondering on the most important fact - I do like pina coladas….only, um, with no colada as it were – I skip the coconut, sorry.
:-)
