Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

"You're gonna like this one Spock" Kirk grins – "It's generally considered to be the best in the series".

"Is that based on categorical study or a general assumption Captain?"

"It's just the best Spock" Bones sighs – "I've never heard anyone doubt it."

There appeared to be the hint of a threat in this and so Spock said no more; Kirk however had to comment –

"Actually I vote Goblet of Fire".

There was a general roar and an agreement that Prisoner of Azkaban was the undeniable best.

"Clearly if the matter is as it appears to be – up for debate that would signify it is in fact deniable" Spock put in reasonably.

"Thank you Spock" said Kirk, meaning it this time – "Five's my favourite anyway" he maintained – "The trials, all the good old fashioned competition. It works for me. I could win the tri – wizard tournament."

Nobody debated this, although Sulu postulated that he could also win it and when Scotty attempted to say the same the argument got silly.

"Shhh!" Bones sighed – "We're watching the third one now!"

"This is undeniably setting a change of tone from the last in this series" Spock commented.

"I miss the old days when everything was fun and banquets and Quidditch already" Kirk added in something like agreement.

"It does get dark fast and just keep going from here on in" Uhura agreed.

"Aww what's the matter Spock, you scared of the Dementors?"

"Why would I be afraid of a fictional creation, doctor?"

"I thought familiarity might breed contempt Spock that's all."

"I am sure I don't know what you mean"

"What was the phrase – they make you feel like you'll never be happy again?" Bones grinned, eyebrows on the move. Spock realised that he had been insulted, made a face that was the Vulcan equivalent of an eye roll and was consequently nearly impossible to catch and backed out of the conversation.

"I want a time turner" Kirk said, a long way into the movie.

"Jim no" Spock said, with unexpected firmness.

"Why not – it'd be brilliant."

"Captain with all due respect I would suggest you do not achieve the optimum amount of sleep as it is, a device such as that, useful though it appears, would I fear lead to exhaustion and a diminishing of your capabilities."

Bones scowled and then grinned, overhearing this and unravelling –

"Good god Jim – he hassles you to get more sleep? You two should get a room."

"An un-necessary recommendation doctor considering we have a room"

"What he said, Bones"

"He is right though – you should get more sleep."

"Oh god will you all quit it?" Kirk paused, watching the movie thoughtfully – "It would be awesome to go back in time though –"

"Captain I must –"

"Don't start Spock, I meant it in the vaguest general sense."

There was a general cheer of approval from the crew when Buckbeak failed to die and Kirk smiled fondly at them all to see they cared more about the hippogriff than any of the human characters.

And then:

"Ohhhh –" Uhura said, ten minutes later – "Lupin and Black – I get it."

Sulu grinned and high fived Chekhov – they'd been trying to convince her to ship it for months now.

_x_

I remember somebody requested a bit where Bones likened Spock to a Dementor so that was for them! Also, last time I watched this I had an extreme Ohhh moment where I finally understood the Lupin/ Black ship….upsettingly I think it was the point at which they were a dog and a wolf and leaping at one another throat's, but eh, it's a good ship. :-)
