Ch. 26

~About three months later~

They decided on a late summer wedding at Martha's Vineyard around mid-August. Considering this wasn't their first time down the aisle, Sabrina and Patrick wanted this wedding to be completely different this time around. Sabrina especially cherished the special moments she didn't have from her first wedding to Patrick like going dress shopping with her mother, having her newfound siblings including Juan and her kids be a part of the wedding, and most importantly having her father walk her down the aisle. To Sabrina, this time felt different, it felt right. Sabrina and Patrick were having their wedding at an oceanside resort. Their close friends and family had flown in for their special day. It was the night before the wedding and Sabrina was reading the kids a bedtime story. They were sprawled across Sabrina's bed as they listened to her attentively. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. "Felix." Sabrina said to herself. She walked over to the door and opened it to reveal Patrick standing on the other side with a smirk on his face. Sabrina crossed her arms and playfully glared at Patrick. "What are you doing here Patrick? It's the night before the wedding and you shouldn't be here." Sabrina stated. "Whoever made up that rule was an idiot. How am I to supposed to get any sleep for our big day tomorrow and look picture perfect if I can't have my fiancé in bed next me?" Patrick whispered as he leaned down to kiss Sabrina on the lips. Sabrina lowered her defense stance and wrapped her arms around Patrick's neck as she returned the kiss. She could never resist him. "Daddy, you're not supposed to be here. Uncle Felix says its tradition." They suddenly heard Emma say. Patrick and Sabrina pulled apart to find that the kids were standing behind Sabrina. Sophie smiled at her dad and raised her arms to be picked up. "Da-da!" She repeated excitedly. Patrick smiled and went around Sabrina to pick up his youngest daughter. "How about I stay for the rest of the bedtime story, tuck you guys in and then leave? And Uncle Felix doesn't have to know about this." Patrick suggested. Emma looked at Sabrina who shrugged as if leaving the decision up to Emma. "Ok fine daddy, you can stay for the bedtime story." Emma finally said. "Yes daddy scores Samuel." Patrick said to his son who was wrapped up in his mother's arms. He smiled at Patrick like he understood what was said. They all climbed on the bed and curled around one another as Sabrina picked up where she left off in the story. It wasn't that long when Sabrina finished with the story. When she looked up, she smiled happily. Emma and Sophie were on one side of Patrick's arm while Samuel was in the other, all peacefully sleeping. She couldn't believe that this was what she had to look forward to for the rest of her days. Sabrina laid down next to her husband-to-be and their children and fell asleep. The following morning, she felt someone nudging her to wake up. "Patrick." She stated with her voice still filled with sleep. "Happy Wedding Day Sabrina." He whispered to her. She smiled at him. "Happy Wedding Day Patrick." She replied back. She glanced at the kids and saw that they were still asleep. "I know it's early but I have to leave before Felix finds me missing from my room. I just wanted to say I can't wait to see you again in a couple of hours at our wedding where you will become my wife and I your husband and I love you and our family so much." Patrick stated. Sabrina tried to keep her emotions in check and nodded. "I can't wait either. I love you so much." She said back. He kissed her on her forehead and said "See you soon." Sabrina nodded.

It wasn't long until the kids woke up and her hotel room was filled with her bridal party and the excitement begun. "It's a perfect day for an outdoor wedding. I am so happy for you sweetheart." Lily said to her daughter. Sabrina smiled. "I'm so glad you're here. It means so much to me." Sabrina said as she blinked back tears. "Me too. I never I thought that I would get to be a part of this." Lily smiled. "I am so excited for you Sabrina and thanks again for including us in your wedding." Kristina said to her older sister. Sabrina hugged both her and Molly. "And it means so much to me that you're here as well. We're family after all." Sabrina replied. "Ok everyone, we're going to have a little breakfast and then it will be time to get glammed up for the wedding." Elizabeth announced to everyone.

Patrick had managed to reach his room before Felix could catch him and found his dad waiting for him. "Dad, you made it!" Patrick said embracing his father. "Of course I did; I was not about this miss your wedding to Sabrina again." Noah said pulling back to look at his son. He could see how happy he was. Noah smiled. "What is there something on my face?" Patrick asked. "No son, I'm just so proud of you. I am so happy and so proud of you son." Noah said. Patrick hugged his dad again. "I'm so glad that you're here." Patrick said.

After having breakfast, Sabrina and the girls went back to the suite to get their hair and make-up done. Lulu, Kristina, and Molly were bridesmaids. Emma would be the flower girl while the twins would the ring bearers. While Sabrina was getting the last finishing touches of her hair done, Felix came in. "Felix, how is everything coming along? The girls wouldn't tell me anything." Sabrina nervously asked. "Don't worry everything is right on schedule. The guys are getting dressed as we speak. And as far as the wedding, the wedding planner has everything under control. Everything will be fine and perfect. As a matter of fact, I came here because we have certain traditions we have to uphold before this wedding can get started." Felix said. Everyone smiled at Sabrina. "I'll go first. I have your something old and something borrowed." Kristina said with a smile as she pulled out a box. She opened it and Sabrina gasped. "This was our grandmothers' Adele hair comb. Dad gave it to me and I want to share it with you on your wedding day." Kristina said as she handed Sabrina the hair comb. Tears filled Sabrina's eyes at her sister's gesture. "Thank you Kristina. I love it." Sabrina said as she tried to control her tears. She reached over and hugged her sister. "Ok ladies, enough with the tears, we have a wedding to attend." Felix stated. "I have your something blue Bri." Felix said. He pulled out an ivory lace embroidered garter with a baby blue bow pinned with a flower crystal. "Felix it's beautiful. Thank you!" She exclaimed as she reached out to hug him. "You're welcome but we all know this will be coming off in a couple of hours if Patrick Drake has something to say about it." Felix remarked. The girls giggled as Sabrina playfully shoved him. "Ok and for your something new" Elizabeth began "We all chipped in and got you a jewelry set for your wedding." Elizabeth pulled a jewelry box that held a pair of earrings, a necklace, and a bracelet. Sabrina admired the jewels and then turned towards her bridal party with love and joy in her eyes. "Thank you all so much for making this day even more special. Having you all here makes all the difference. I love you all so much." Sabrina said with tears streaming down her eyes. "We love you too." Elizabeth said trying not to get choked up. "Ok ok, enough with the tears like Felix said. Let's get you married mija'." Lily stated. Sabrina nodded and smiled.

Patrick finally managed to finish tying his bow tie when Juan came in with his kids. Emma and Sophie had flower head wreaths that adorned their hair with beautiful white dresses. Samuel was the spitting image of his father as he wore a suit that matched his father's. "Da-da." The twins called out as they saw their father. A smile lit upon Patrick's face as his children ran towards him. "Hey guys, I missed you. You all look beautiful." The kids giggled as Patrick enveloped them all in his arms for a group hug. "And you look handsome daddy. I can't wait for you to see Sabrina. She's going to knock your socks off." Emma answered back knowingly. Patrick raised an eyebrow at his oldest daughter's choice of words. He glanced at Juan who shrugged with a smile on his face. "Blame Felix." He simply said. Patrick nodded. Soon the room was filled with his groomsmen and his father. They all wore light gray suits with matching aqua mint ties. Felix came in soon after. "How's Sabrina doing?" Patrick asked him. Felix smiled as he fixed Samuel's bow tie. "You'll see soon enough. She told me to tell you that she can't wait to meet you down the aisle." Tears glistened in Patrick's eyes as he took in what Felix told him. He nodded and smiled. "Then let's get me down that aisle shall we?" Patrick stated. Felix nodded.

Sabrina took in her appearance in the long mirror and couldn't believe that she was standing in a wedding dress again about to Patrick Drake. She would be lying if she didn't admit to herself that she was nervous about it. What if something or someone stopped them again? A knock interrupted Sabrina's thoughts. She smiled as she saw her father through the reflection of the mirror. He smiled back, trying to hold back tears as he looked at his oldest daughter. "You are a vision to marvel at Sabrina. Patrick won't be able to take his eyes off you when you're coming down that aisle." Sonny said as he walked towards his daughter. "You really think so dad?" Sabrina asked him. He could see the insecurities she had in her eyes. He grasped her by the arms. "I know that so much has happened and that you have been through a lot but you survived. You survived through it all and now you're about to get the happy ending that you deserve Sabrina. Don't think about anything else except for this moment sweetheart." Sonny exclaimed. Sabrina reached out and hugged her father which he happily obliged her. "Thank you dad! I am so happy that you came into my life and that you're here at my wedding." Sabrina whispered. "There is no other place I would rather be Sabrina. I love you and I thank you for letting me be a part of your family." He pulled back to look at his daughter and caught her tears with his finger before it came down her face. "Thank you for letting me walk you down the aisle." He said emotionally. Sabrina smiled and reached over to kiss her father on the cheek. "I love you too dad." She said. Sonny nodded. "Let's get you married." He said. Sabrina smiled once again and nodded in agreement. Sonny reached behind her head for the veil when he noticed his mother's hair comb in Sabrina's hair. "Kristina let me borrow it. I hope it's ok." He heard Sabrina say. "It's more than ok, it's perfect. I wish she could've been here for this." Sonny said. "Somehow, I think she is here." Sabrina answered back. "You might be right." Sonny replied back.

Like Lily said it was a perfect day for an outdoor wedding. The sun wasn't too hot and the breeze from the ocean was the perfect combination. The wedding ceremony would take place in the back of the resort where the ocean would serve as a backdrop. There were two sections of white chairs that were placed neatly in rows. Patrick stood under a flowered arch where he would await his bride. He watched as his friends, family, and colleagues sat down as the wedding was about to begin.

~Katy Perry 'Unconditionally' song begins~

As the song began, everyone quieted down as the procession began. Dante and Lulu were the first of the bridal party to walk down. The girls wore light colored aqua mint dresses in different styles and each of them carried bouquets that had an assortment light peach colored followers.

Oh no, did I get too close? Oh, did I almost see what's really on the inside? All your insecurities, all the dirty laundry, never made me blink one time

Unconditional, unconditionally

Soon after, Michael and Kristina came down the aisle. They smiled at Patrick reassuringly as they walked towards him and took their positions. Molly and Morgan followed after them.

I will love you unconditionally, there is no fear now, let go and just be free

I will love you unconditionally

Soon the chatter began when Juan and Noah came down the aisle, each carrying one of the twins in hand. Everyone gushed over how cute and adorable they were. They waited as Emma would soon follow her siblings.

Come just as you are to me, don't need apologies, Know that you are worthy, I'll take your bad days with your good Walk through the storm I would, I do it all because I love you, I love you

Patrick's eyes shone with pride as he watched his children come down the aisle with his family. He especially got teary eyed when he saw Emma coming down the aisle. It seemed as if she had grown so much in such little time but she would always be his little girl to him. He smiled at her as she threw flower petals on the ground. He kissed her as he did with Samuel and Sophie when she finally reached him.

So open up your heart and just let it begin, Open up your heart and just let it begin, Open up your heart and just let it begin, Open up your heart

Felix and Elizabeth were the last of the procession. They were the 'best person' once again. Patrick thought about how much love and support those two had given to him and Sabrina and he would be eternally grateful for their presence in their lives. He embraced Felix and Elizabeth when they reached him.

Acceptance is the key to be, To be truly free, Will you do the same for me?

Then the moment that Patrick had been waiting for finally arrived. Sabrina stood in between her parents as he locked eyes with her. She took his breath away even from afar. Everyone stood as she made her way towards Patrick. Sabrina wore a white strapless mermaid bridal dress. Her hair was half up and down with loose curls. They only had eyes for each other as she made her way down to him. It seemed as if it took forever for her to reach him but when she did, he didn't hesitate when Sonny and Lily handed Sabrina to him. She embraced her parents once again before taking her position next to the man she loved. Patrick could see her beautiful face and smile through the veil and mouthed 'I love you' to her. 'I love you too' she said back.

Unconditional, unconditionally, I will love you unconditionally, And there is no fear now

Let go and just be free, 'Cause I will love you unconditionally (oh yeah), I will love you (unconditionally), I will love you, I will love you unconditionally

Sabrina and Patrick grasped each other's hands and turned and faced the ordained minister. "Dearly beloved we are gathered here today in the presence of God and these witnesses to join Patrick Drake and Sabrina Santiago in holy matrimony. This union is not to be entered into lightly but reverently, passionately, lovingly and solemnly. Into this - these two persons present now come to be joined. If any person can show just cause why they may not be joined together - let them speak now or forever hold their peace.

There was a pause as the couple turned to look at their family and friends for any objections. When no one said anything, the minister smiled at them and continued. "We will begin with a poem to be recited by Miss Emma with assistance from Elizabeth and Felix." The minister said to Patrick and Sabrina. Elizabeth and Felix gathered Patrick and Sabrina's kids to the front of the arch near Sabrina and Patrick. Emma was the first to speak. "This is 'I carry your heart with me (I carry it in)'by E.E Cummings." She began.

I carry your heart with me (I carry it in my heart)

I am never without it (anywhere I go you go, my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling)

Sabrina and Patrick were in awe of Emma as she recited the poem. They smiled at her with joy as the watched and listened to her. Felix spoke next and then Elizabeth.

I fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet)

I want no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)

And it's you are whatever a moon has always meant

And whatever a sun will always sing is you

Here is the deepest secret nobody knows

(Here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)

And this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

As Emma said the last line, she looked up at her parents.

I carry your heart (I carry it in my heart)

Sabrina and Patrick enveloped Emma and the twins in a family embrace before they went back to their positions. "That was beautiful Emma." The minister stated. "Now onto the vows. Sabrina and Patrick have chosen to speak from their hearts to one another. Sabrina you may go first." The minister said. Patrick squeezed her hands gently as she smiled at him. She chuckled nervously before she began. She took a deep breath and stared into the eyes of the man she loved. "We have come a long way to get to this point; to this moment in front of our family and friends. I never imagined that this is the life I would have with you and our beautiful children. Every morning I wake up to your faces, I know that I am truly blessed and filled with love. Thank you Patrick, for creating this wonderful life for our family and for making me happy. I promise to cherish you. I stand by you forever. I honor you and our children now and always. I love you." Sabrina stated. Patrick reached over and wiped her tears and she did the same for him. The moment between them was so thick with love and emotion and everyone in attendance could feel the intensity of it.

Patrick composed himself before he began. "I have seen this moment in my dreams because I never imagined that we would be standing here again. Like you said, we have come a long way. Losing you taught me never to take true love and happiness for granted. I am the one who's blessed to have you stand by my side once again. As I watched you and our kids walk down the aisle and towards me, our future flashed before my eyes and it is beautiful. I look forward to being your husband and falling in love with you each day for the rest of our lives. I look forward to raising our kids and growing old together. You have my heart Sabrina, now and always. I love you." He finally finished. Sabrina couldn't help the tears of joy that fell as she listened to Patrick. "Repeat after me Sabrina. I Sabrina, take you Patrick, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part." Patrick smiled brightly as Sabrina said her vows. And then it was his turn. "I Patrick, take you Sabrina, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part." He repeated. "May we have the rings please?" The minister said. Elizabeth and Felix handed the rings to Patrick and Sabrina. "I give you this ring as a symbol of my love; and with all that I am and all that I have." The minister had them repeat to one another. The bride and the groom each placed the wedding bands on each other's respective finger. Now that Patrick and Sabrina have given themselves to each other by solemn vows, with the joining of hands and the giving and receiving of a ring, I now pronounce you wife and husband. You may now kiss your bride." The minister announced happily. Patrick lifted the veil from Sabrina's face and beamed when he finally saw her face. He gathered her in his arms as he leaned down to kiss her. Sabrina's arms wrapped around Patrick's neck as they finally sealed their union. They were lost in each other for moment until they finally heard their family and friends erupt in cheers on happiness. They pulled a part and Sabrina held his face. "We did it. We're married." She whispered to him. "I know. I can't wait to start our lives together." He said with a smile. He kissed her once again before he pulled away from her. Sabrina turned to see her children run towards them. She picked up Emma as Patrick held both the twins. "It's official. We're a family." Emma said. "Yes we are Ems." Sabrina answered. They walked down the aisle together as a family.

The wedding reception was held under a tent. The lanterns illuminated the tent to reveal a dim beautiful intimate setting. There were peach colored drapes flowing from the ceiling of the tent. The tables formed a square around the tent giving every guest a view of the dance floor. Everyone took their seat as they waited for Sabrina and Patrick to come. Soon the wedding party came and were introduced by the DJ. "Everyone please stand up as we welcome for the first time, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Drake!" The DJ announced. They came in hand in hand and waved to their family and friends as they made their way to the center of the dance floor. "Please be seated as the first dance commences." The DJ said. Sleeping At Last by Turning Page filled the room. Patrick pulled Sabrina close in his arms as they began to dance to their wedding song.

I've waited a hundred years
But I'd wait a million more for you
Nothing prepared me for
What the privilege of being yours would do

"Have I told you how exquisite you look Mrs. Drake?" Patrick said to her as they danced. Sabrina blushed. "Thank you Mr. Drake. You don't look bad yourself." Sabrina replied. "You've made me the happiest man alive. I love you so much Sabrina Santiago Drake." Patrick said. She smiled warmly at him and wrapped her arms around his neck to bring him closer to her if that was even possible. "And I love you always Patrick Drake." She replied back. He smiled and leaned down to kiss his wife. The entire room seemed to disappear and in that moment it was just the two of them in each other's embrace.

If I had only felt the warmth within your touch
If I had only seen how you smile when you blush
Or how you curl your lip when you concentrate enough
Well I would have known
What I was living for all along
What I've been living for

Your love is my turning page
Where only the sweetest words remain
Every kiss is a cursive line
Every touch is a redefining phrase

I surrender who I've been for who you are
For nothing makes me stronger than your fragile heart
If I had only felt how it feels to be yours
Well I would have known
What I've been living for all along
What I've been living for

Though we're tethered to the story we must tell
When I saw you, well I knew we'd tell it well
With a whisper we will tame the vicious seas
Like a feather bringing kingdoms to their knees

The party began after that. Food and drinks were served. Sabrina and Patrick went around greeting their family and friends. After dancing with her father, Sabrina danced with her father-in-law. "You look absolutely beautiful. My son is a lucky man." Noah said causing Sabrina to blush. "Thank you Noah, for being here and for your support. It means a lot." Sabrina replied. "I should be the one thanking you Sabrina. You have made my son so happy and that's because he has found his other half. The love you two share gives me hope." Noah stated. Tears glistened in Sabrina's eyes as she reached over and hugged Noah. "I appreciate that Noah." She whispered. "Is everything ok?" They suddenly heard. Sabrina pulled back to see Patrick and their son. She smiled. "Everything is great. How are my two guys?" Sabrina said leaning over to kiss her son. He smiled at his mother. "We're fine. Elizabeth and Felix want to make a toast before we cut the cake." Patrick said. "Ok." She replied. She smiled once more at Noah before linking her hands with Patrick and following him.

"First and foremost….finally! "Felix started making everyone laugh. "On behalf of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Drake, we would like to thank all of you for coming to this celebration. It means a lot to Patrick and Sabrina that you're all here." Elizabeth continued. "To Sabrina and Patrick, I can say that it has been an honor to be your friends and to be witnesses to this wonderful love story that you two have created. Felix and I are so happy that you two found each other and we know that as long as you two are standing by each other, everything else will fall in line." Elizabeth stated. "So please everyone raise your glass as we salute Sabrina and Patrick. We all wish you a lifetime of happiness and love." Felix finished off. "To Sabrina and Patrick!" Everyone said. Afterwards, it was time for cake cutting which the kids were happy for. The night continued with fun, dancing, and laughter. Pictures were taken as everyone captured the beautiful moments between the happy couple. The night was coming to an end. Sabrina now sat in the middle of the dance floor with Patrick standing in front of her. "All the single men, please make your way to the dance floor!" The DJ roared. Patrick leaned down towards Sabrina. "You looked very beautiful in your wedding dress but I can't wait to get you out of it Mrs. Drake." He whispered in her ear. He saw the expected red tinge on her cheeks when he pulled away to look at her face. She held his face in her hands and pulled him towards her for a quick but hot kiss. Sabrina saw desire reflected in Patrick's eyes. Patrick smirked at her as he squatted down in front of her. He stared at her as his hands brushed along her leg. Their guests cheered as Patrick worked to remove the garter on Sabrina's leg. Finally he removed the garter and held it up in the air like he won something. The single men lined up as Patrick prepared to throw the garter. Everyone waited to see who would catch the garter and it ended up being Juan. "All my single ladies, make your way to the dance floor for the throwing of the bouquet!" The DJ exclaimed. The girls giggled as they stood on the dance floor. Sabrina's back was turned as they she got ready to throw the bouquet over her head. Elizabeth blushed as she caught the bouquet and looked over at Juan who had a smile on his face.

Sabrina, Patrick's and their family and friends gathered outside with wedding lanterns or as Felix called them 'Love Lanterns'. They would release them into the night sky as a symbol of good luck and prosperity for Sabrina and Patrick. Along with their children, Sabrina and Patrick stood each held on to a side of the lantern. "I love you forever Sabrina!" Patrick declared proudly. "I love you forever Patrick!" Sabrina said back. They released the lantern and everyone else followed. The night sky was lit with the 'love lanterns'. Sabrina and Patrick gathered their kids and looked up at the sky as they watched the lanterns float away. Sabrina and Patrick looked at each other and knew that as long as they had each other, their life would be great.
