Chapter 4

Jack followed North angrily around the pole as like many times before the large giant of a any busied himself with preparing for the Christmas to come, North even new that the young guardian was following him, not at all happy with how North had handled the situation regarding his friend, but Christmas was coming and knowing North nothing ever got in the way of the jolly man from preparing for his appointed holiday.

"North we can't just sit here," Jack started his argument again as The mentioned Guardian checked the progress of one of the toys. "If that really was Pitch's black sand then who knows what happened to her. North just shook his head.

"Jack, you know as much as I do that Pitch is long gone." North turned to look at the worried Guardian. " and if Pitch truly was alive wouldn't you think he'd make it known that he was sooner?" Jack thought about what North had said, but something was still eating away at him, and it would ease up anytime soon if this just continued.

North could tell by the look in Jack's eyes that he was about ready to race for the window and jump out into the wind and look for the girl himself. At this point North knew he had to calm the teen down because already his anxiety was causing a cold breeze to blow throughout the workshop and sooner or later it wouldn't be just a breeze but a full blown storm.

"Jack it will be all right, I have Sandy and Bunny looking for your friend." Jack seemed to be mulling this over in his head. He looked to the ground, muttered under his breath, then walked away. Down the hall way to his room that North had given him.

...

April had long since grown used to the dark and was able to make out features in the cave wall, but she had long since grown bored of staring at the cave walls being unable to get up or move. At this point she was getting uncomfortable where she sat, and again she struggled against what ever it was that was binding her to sit herself upright.

As she finally got herself into an upright position, a dark, yet somehow familiar voice echoed through out the cave. "Why struggle so much? No one is going to be able to find you."

It was close to impossible to pinpoint exactly where it was that that voice was coming from due to the echoes that bounced off of the stone, cold walls.

I turned my head this way and that trying to see the mystery person in the dark, but I couldn't see anyone. By their voice though I could tell that they were female, and probably a few years older then me. What was it that was so familiar about this voice? I didn't know and the voice didn't come again.

As I began thinking that I was once again alone an ice cold hand grabbed a hold of my chin like a vice and a just as icy voice spoke into my ear from behind. "Hello, old friend." It was then that I could place a face to the voice as an image flashed through my mind.

...

Julia hole short dark brown hair, bangs tied back with a ponytail, and her dark blue eyes reflecting the over head light of the porch light. Under one of her as was a sleeping bag and on her bag was a backpack of clothes for the weekend. "Hello, old friend." She said as she dropped her salute. " ready for the weekend?"

...

I tried to turn my head to look at the stranger but their grip had not loosened on my chin and I was stuck facing forward. "Right you can't talk right now can you." The female stated as she snapped her fingers. Suddenly whatever had been preventing me from talking disappeared and the hand at my chin released it grip. Quickly I turned and in the dark could make out two, hateful cold yellow years that pierced through the dark, and we're looking right at me.

There was no way in hell that those eyes belonged to her. Not to the Julia that I knew. Clearly the female could see me as she spoke out in that familiarly cold voice. "So you do recognize me?"

My eyes widened as she just revealed to me what I had hoped want true. That cold hateful voice, those cold spiteful eyes. They both belong to my friend. They both belong to Julia. But the Julia I knew wasn't this cold hateful shell, she was always smiling and laughing, but now, I'm not even sure if the Julia I know is still alive in the person in front of me.

The piercing yellow eyes began moving in the dark as they came closer. When they stood in front of where I knelt they then came down to my level and the next thing I knew is that I was enveloped in a cold hug that pierced through my clothes and to my skin. It was completely silent as the female who claimed that she was Julia continued to embrace me in her cold hug.

I think we would've stayed like that if it hadn't been for a hissing sound that came from her left. She stood leaving me in silence, starring wide eyed into her black surroundings as the tall yellowed eyed 'stranger' silently conversed with whatever caused the hissing.

After awhile she turned back to me.

"So you were staying with him?" I brought my attention back to those piercing yellow eyes. Him? Him who? I wanted to ask but didn't want to risk anything so I let her continue. "That makes this much easier." She stated more to herself then to me. The girl snapped her fingers and suddenly I was brought to my feet. It seemed like whatever had me bound had a mind of its own. The figure walked forward and I was forced to follow, even as I struggled, and even as I struggled I continued forward almost against my will.

As I followed I could tell that the figure in front of me was wearing a long gown of some sort as the fabric brushed against the ground as she led me, to a room that was lighted far better then the one I had recently sat in.

At this point I could finally take her in, other then he piercing eyes.

Just as I thought she was wearing a gown that trailed along the ground but the gown itself was not what I had expected. It was a black mermaid gown that slowly went from black to a blazing red as it neared the ground. Her hair was a slick black and hung loose falling to her mid-back. Her skin was a light-ish grey and made her eyes stand out even more. She stopped in front of a barred cage and opened the book taking a step back.

Once again she snapped her fingers and again I found myself moving against my will and now that I could see what it was I knew that struggling wouldn't help. More of that black sand stuff had wrapped itself around my legs and was forcing me to move at the woman's command. Once I was inside she shut the door locked it and snapped her fingers a final time, this caused the black sand to disappear and I was final 'free'.

I ran to the edge of the cage and looked at the receding back of captor. "You are not Julia." I called out, the woman stopped and turned. A sad sort of smile took its place on her face as she looked at me.

"Your right," She all but whispered. "But at one point in time I was called Julia." Again that sad smile, then it disappeared. "But not anymore, now you can call me Violet Shadows." I then watched in horror as the black sand that hand on slice bound me then forced me to follow, now began to move again on its own and soon it was a life size, dark version, of myself. I starred into the dark lifeless eyes of the newly created double.

Violet clicked her tongue, "Now then that won't do." Then almost as if by magic the dark but lice slowly began gaining color from the feet up, starting with primary then adding the shades that it needed till it was like looking in a mirror.

"Now that is something Pitch could never do." She stated in self satisfaction the new April walked out of the cave leaving the me and Violet alone.

"What did you do?" I asked more in wonder then in fear. I had learned over the years about Pitch and the black nightmare sand that he controlled but this was something entirely new to me. Violet turned and once again that sad smile was present on her face almost like seeing me standing before her was the cause of it.

"Really it is simple if you know how colors work to begin with." She stated then she left it at that and in the end left alone.

A.N. So yeah new update sort of an old chapter but I thought that this was a good place to stop that and I have it planned out and this is the end of the chapter in my plan so yeah.
