YOOOOOOOOOO so I haven't written in a while. Or a year. To be honest, I actually forgot about this for a bit, so I can sincerely say to you all that I'm SORRY! I don't know if my writing style has change over this past year but, hopefully you guys still remember this story! Fang's introduced in this chapter so I hope you all enjoy it! xx

''And, why wouldn't I do that? I mean, seriously! Everyone in this camp is so...goddamn..,'' I started, but my voice trailed off as my eyes met the guy who I was initially supposed to strangle for stopping me from escaping. The air left my lungs, suddenly sucked out by the sight that met me.

Up close, this guy was drop-dead gorgeous- his strong and chiseled cheekbones and jaw sat beneath perfectly tousled dark hair cropped into a slight undercut and the most intense pair of dark eyes I'd ever seen. His grey hoodie was rolled up over his olive-toned forearms which were folded over his chest as he casually leaned against a tree. I couldn't tell what his exact age was but he looked a little older than me. He was also the guy who I'd ran into yesterday.

I wanted to slap myself. Mostly because I was probably openly gaping at him. And, also because all of a sudden, my pajama shorts seemed too... short.

He raised an eyebrow, looking amused by my reaction. ''Yes? Everyone in camp is so goddamn.. what?''

I pushed down the urge to say something smug and take off and settled for snapping my mouth shut and lowering my eyes. The faster I got this conversation over, the better. Also, I did not need another part of his face to distract me.

But, this guy wasn't yet ready to let a lull in the conversation pass. He languidly strolled up to me, hands stuffed in his hoodie.

''Well, beautiful?''

Oh, hell no.

''Fuck off,'' I whispered hoarsely, my eyes still glued to my sneakers. My social skills never failed to surprise me.

''What's that? I can't hear you,'' he said, cocking his brow. He had walked closer to me now, close enough that I could've kneed him if I wanted to.

I glared up at him and shoving down that part of me that still thought he was gorgeous, I replied, ''I said 'fuck off'''.

Just then, my earlier captor appeared, cackling and basically looking drunk. He slung his arm around the guy in front of me, a beer bottle in his hand and addressed me with a nod. ''So, I see you've met the new girl, over here.''

''We've already met. Yesterday, actually,'' muttered the dark-haired guy, smiling slightly.

I rolled my eyes. A second ago, he seemed to have no better job than to taunt me. Now he thought we were good ol' pals? Who was this guy?

''I'm Fang, by the way,'' he said and then pointed at his friend, who graciously swung his beer bottle towards me. ''This is Iggy.''

''So now, I know who's name to report when I call 911,'' I said, sweetly and began to walk in the general direction of my cabin but was stopped when Iggy stepped out in front of me.

Even through his apparent drunkenness, he stilled seemed determined that I should stay here for whatever idiotic show the campers had arranged. I had to say I was impressed. Then again, the only thing I actually knew about drunkenness was that people usually started screaming and throwing things when they were in that state. And, by people I meant Jeb.

No, Max, I thought, clenching my eyes shut. Stop. Don't go there.

When I opened them, Iggy was in the middle of waving his hands and beer bottle around whilst giving me some big speech about the experience of a life time.

''...and trust me, every single camper that plays loves it! Also, we needed you to come so we could have even amount of players on each team, but...''

''What? This is all about some game?'' I said, my eyes widening. They really were crazy.

''Not just any game. We're playing capture-the-flag. Consider yourself lucky that you're even invited,'' said Fang, who had turned his back on us and had begun walking towards the bonfire that the other campers had started.

Did he really just...?

I placed my hands on my hips. ''Oh, I do. Considering that I'll be able to crush your face into the ground,'' I called, not sure he could even hear me.

All he did was seat himself between two girls on a fallen tree trunk around the bonfire. They giggled at him, looking like they wanted to feel him up. I recognized one of the girls as one of my cabin mates- the one with the red hair, who had made it clear a thousand times that she hated me. Sensing my eyes on her, she glanced up and gave me the finger. I could hear Fang laughing all the way from here. My blood boiled.

I didn't know how this game worked, but it didn't matter. Games always brought out my competitive side, especially when there was a prick like Fang involved.

Iggy chuckled, noticing my clenched fists. ''It's a non-violent game, Max. Well, for the most part.''

I turned on him. ''Well, when do we star-? Wait, how do you know my name?'' I demanded, realizing I'd never even introduced myself.

He ignored me and looked down at his watch, scratching his chin. ''Hmmm... seems we're already behind schedule. But, I don't think any camp counselors are going to wake up at this hour,'' he said, pausing to yell in Fang's direction. ''Hey, Fang! Think we should get started by now. Everyone's here.''

Fang responded by giving him a thumbs-up, all while keeping his head buried in the neck of the red-haired girl and his other hand inching up her thigh. I looked away quickly.

Iggy shook his head. ''Guess I'd better get started then,'' he said, walking towards the bonfire. ''Come on.''

I followed him as we walked through the small crowd of campers. I tried to ignore the curious looks I received from everyone. Some of them looked like they knew me and even smiled when I looked at them. I stopped when I spotted my other cabin mate- Nudge, the nicer one- with the curly, brown hair and dark, tanned skin. She was chatting with another girl, with blonde hair, who looked a little younger than her.

Realizing I'd already lost Iggy, I walked up to them. They stopped talking and Nudge's eyes widened, when she saw I was still wearing my pajama shorts.

''Oh, my God. I'm so sorry!'' she started, and I braced myself. She was a chatter, this one. ''I tried to stop Iggy, but he kept saying we were getting late! Here, I think I might have an extra pair of sweatpants or something in my bag.''

She paused to rummage through her backpack, while I watched her.

Her friend smiled up at me and said in possibly the most sweetest voice I'd ever heard, ''Hi, I'm Angel. It's nice to meet you. You're Max, right?''

''Uh, yeah,'' I responded, graciously. How did everyone here know my name?

Angel must've noticed my confused expression. ''The camp director, Mr. Ride, basically told the whole camp at dinner, yesterday that we had a new camper. It doesn't happen often, the camp being so high-priced and all, so I guess, everyone knows who you are.''

''Oh, that's great,'' I said, frowning slightly.

I'd opted to sleep in yesterday during dinner, considering how tired I was from hating Jeb on the trip here and all. I was glad I'd missed the whole introduction thing yesterday, but it still felt weird knowing that everyone knew that I was the newbie. It felt even weirder knowing that Jeb had dumped me at some expensive camp that had snotty rich kids written all over it.

Nudge had finally, pulled out a pair of black Adidas training pants. ''Here! Just slip them over your shorts.''

''Thanks,'' I said, smiling at her. I took the pants from her and began slipping them on. Thankfully, they fit pretty well.

Her eyes widened slightly.

''What?'' I asked, stopping.

She began playing with one strand of her hair and without looking at me, she said, ''It's just... you've been pretty miserable every since you've come to camp.''

So I wasn't fooling anyone.

''And, you've barely talked to Lissa and I in the cabin. I figured you just hated me,'' she finished, looking down at her sneakers, sniffling softly.

This was awkward. But, as much as I hated camp, Nudge was sort of an angel. She'd offered me her toothpaste after I realized I'd forgot to pack some and had even shared some of her Chips Ahoy! chocolate chip cookies with me when I'd entered the cabin.

I sighed and put my hand on her shoulder. ''Hey, I don't hate you,'' I began.

She looked up at me and beamed. ''You don't?''

Oh, God. She was adorable.

I shook my head, another smile sneaking out. ''No! It's just... it's taking me some time to you know... settle down.''

''Ooh, I see,'' she said, and linked an arm through mine before I could stop her. ''Well, don't worry! Angel and I can help you get used to being at camp. We come here every summer.''

Angel nodded and added, ''And, we love it every year. They have great games! Capture-the-flag's my favorite one.''

I looked down at her. ''Aren't you a little young to be playing? I mean, everyone else here looks pretty much grown up.''

Nudge shook her head, smiling. ''That's what people always say, don't they, Ange?''

''What?''

''It doesn't matter what your age is. Anyone can play. Angel's turning eleven in a month and she's actually pretty good at it,'' Nudge said, nudging her friend playfully.

''Oh, stop it, Nudge,'' Angel swatted her hand away, laughing. ''Besides, it's always Fang's team that wins. He's probably the best player here.''

''Wait, did you say Fang? He's the best player?'' I repeated, sure I'd heard wrong.

Without knowing it, I glanced around the small clearing and found Fang still seated on the tree trunk with the red-head. At this point, they were full on making out, with his hand slipping under the fabric of her T-shirt. She paused and put a hand on his chest, and whispered something that made him laugh. He actually looked less like a jerk when he did that. Then, to my horror, as if he could hear my thoughts, he looked up and met my eyes. I looked away quickly, but not before I saw his wink. Wonder what the red-head would think of that.

Nudge and Angel, oblivious to what had just happened, nodded and affirmed, ''Yep. He's pretty good Capture-the-flag. Probably because he's the one who started the tradition.''

''Wait a minute, this game- it's a tradition? What do you mean?''

''Every year, at the beginning of the summer, we play this game. Camp counselors say that we're banned from it because of the drinking and all that occurs before the game but, we do it anyway,'' Nudge explained.

''Iggy chooses the captains, one of which is always Fang since he's the founder,'' Angel said. ''Iggy just referees, since he usually gets too drunk before the game.''

I was about to say something snide about Iggy, still not over the fact that he kidnapped me from my cabin, but then I heard his voice hollering over the crowd.

''Can you guys keep it down?! Seriously, do you want the counselors to find us?'' Iggy grumbled loudly.

I tried to spot him and found him standing on a large tree stump, so that he was taller than everyone. He had his hands on his hips and looked so thoroughly pissed off, I would've taken a picture if I had my phone. Everyone gathered around him, no doubt, waiting for him to choose the captains.

''Alright, so, now that I have your attention, let's start with the team captains,'' he began, but was interrupted.

''Shouldn't you explain the rules, first? You know, for the newbies?'' Fang's voice muttered. I noticed him a bit far off from where I was standing with Nudge and Angel. He had his arm around the red-head's shoulders but was staring directly at me. I had never wanted to flip someone off more than I did right at that moment.

''Uh, yeah,'' Iggy drawled, swaying a little bit on the tree stump. ''So, Max.''

Everyone's eyes turned on me which made me want to dig myself a hole.

''Basically how the game works,'' Iggy continued. ''Each team hides their flag. When the game starts, each team's gonna try to find the other team's flag. No violence, please, or you're out. First team to find the other flag wins.''

''You forgot the part about jail,'' Fang reminded, grinning. ''My favorite part.''

Everyone groaned.

Iggy shook his head. ''Oh yeah. If a player is caught by a rival player on the rival team's side of the field, you're officially in jail. You can only get out if one of your own players gets you out. Now, onto the captains. Fang?''

I watched as Fang, wearing his cockiest smile, untangled himself from the red-head, who looked ready to follow him, and joined Iggy on the tree stump. He gave Iggy one of those half-hug shoulder slap things and then, whispered something to him. Iggy, after listening intently, nodded and smiled. ''That's perfect,'' I heard him say.

''Anyways,'' he began, again. ''Fang, here, has offered a suggestion for the other team captain.''

Oh, no. No, no, no. Fuck, no, he wouldn't.

''Our newest camper, Max!'' Iggy shouted, excitedly.

Again, everyone turned to silently gape at me. Fang spotted me, and looking super pleased with himself, he called, ''Well, Max? Would you do the honors?''

IDK GUYS BUT SEEMS TO ME LIKE MAX IS SMITTEN BY FANG... EVEN THOUGH HE'S A JERK. (what's new) BUT YEAH, PLS REVIEW! That's all! xx
