summary: You've been starring in my dreams.
After twenty minutes of waiting, Juvia began to worry.
Standing in front of the guild with perfect patience and her hands resting before her, she took a quick glance around her. No Gray to her left, nor to her right… no Gray behind her, or in front of her.
The sky glowed pale as the sun peeked over the horizon, yet at the rise of dawn, Gray was still nowhere to be seen.
At this, Juvia began to fret a little. The two were supposed to leave for a mission in a distant land, and although Gray hated mornings, he had been the one to suggest that they leave early to make the train stop and arrive there in one hour instead of three. Gray would never deliberately stand her up or skip on a mission that would subsequently tarnish Fairy Tail's name, so if he wasn't here, something must have happened to him!
The girl gasped at the potential scenarios running through her mind. Did he get attacked? Ambushed? Did he hurt himself? Was he sick? Was he wailing in agony, longing for her presence while she ignorantly stood by the guild, oblivious to his pleas?
Cupping her cheeks and squealing, Juvia resolutely rushed away from the guild, immediately finding herself standing in front of Gray's apartment door. As she glanced around, she noticed everything seemed in order. No signs of a struggle or assault of any kind…
Grasping the door handle, she opened the door and carefully slipped inside. Gray leaving his front door open wasn't necessarily unusual—it was a bad habit she often cautioned him about, but clearly he still hadn't learned. This time, however, his habit was acceptable, as it allowed Juvia to step inside and make sure he was okay.
Her eyes swept across the room, carefully scanning every inch—dishes piled the sink, clothes draped over his chairs and couch, some food left out that was probably his dinner, and a thin blanket crumpled against the foot of his couch for when he would sometimes fall asleep there. His apartment was the same as always, yet she still found no sign of Gray himself.
"Gray-sama?" she called softly, lest there be an intruder lurking in the midst. Stepping further inside, she slowly approached his bedroom. "Are you all right?"
At his room door, cracked open for her peeking eyes, she poked her head inside, only for her heart to flutter at the sight.
There was Gray, sound asleep in the middle of his bed, lying on his side and naked aside from a simple pair of boxer briefs. An affectionate smile curved her lips as she walked quietly towards him. Typical Gray, oversleeping in the mornings with his alarm clock almost smashed to pieces. He really did hate mornings, after all.
But as she moved to get a closer look, she realized he wasn't just lying on his side: half his body was draped over a pillow. A large pillow, something like a—a—
Seeing her imprinted face looking back at her, Juvia loudly squealed before quickly muffling her mouth.
Her heart raced erratically fast, pounding in her chest while her head swam in wild, dizzying emotions. It was too good to be true—Gray was sleeping with her body pillow! The one she'd thought he'd rejected before leaving it behind at the guild. He had actually taken it home with him? And was sleeping with it every night?!
Her face steamed at the thought, and suddenly she found herself growing lightheaded.
He looked so comfortable with it, too, with his body curled up beside it, his arm lying over her body pillow's chest while his leg was bent and hitched up against the lower half. His face, still sound asleep despite her hyperventilating breaths, was perfectly calm and content, messy dark strands falling over his eyes and his mouth slightly open as he took slow breaths.
Juvia suddenly tripped over her foot, and she winced as she stumbled against the floor, making loud, ungraceful thuds while she caught her balance. Her face whipped up, eyes snapping to his face to see if she had disturbed his rest. He stirred a little, and her heart froze, waiting for his dark eyes to open and recognize her presence—but instead his eyebrows furrowed before he gave a quiet exhale, relaxing and nestling his face further into the body pillow.
She didn't think her heart could accelerate any faster, pounding so hard the beat thumped in her ears. An exuberant smile crossed her face as her eyes gleamed bright in glee. He liked her gift! He liked having a picture of her on his bed every night!
Juvia was on cloud nine, her heart soaring ever higher. Her morning couldn't get any more perfect, she thought, but then Gray shifted again, uttering a low murmur that made her heart leap in her throat:
"Juvia…"
This time, she couldn't stop her ear-splitting squeal of sheer delight as she cupped her cheeks and popped her foot up.
"GRAY-SAMA!"
His eyes snapped open then, his body jolting upright as he blinked the drowsiness away from his eyes. "Wha—Juvia?!"
She immediately pounced on him, giggling gleefully and snuggling into his chest. "Juvia is here, Gray-sama! Juvia will make all Gray-sama's dreams come true!"
Heat rushed to his cheeks as his face flushed dark. "I—I wasn't—!"
Leaning back, she rested her hands on his chest, beaming up at him with her eyes merrily closed. "Juvia is so happy you like her gift, Gray-sama! But if Gray-sama wants Juvia herself, Juvia will happily give herself to him!"
He twitched when she pushed him down to the mattress, her embrace tightening as a wild blush spread across his face.
"W-Wait a second!" he stammered. "What about the mission?"
"We can catch a later train, Gray-sama! Now is too early for you, so you should sleep more! With Juvia! Juvia will be your body pillow!"
"I-I-I—that's not—"
"Eh? What's wrong?"
She blinked in concern as she leaned back, sitting herself upright. Her legs straddled his waist while her arms propped in front of her against his chest, eliciting a darker blush on the boy's face as he struggled to meet her eyes.
Juvia tilted her head, glancing between herself and the body pillow before her eyes brightened in realization.
"Oh! Should Juvia get undressed too?"
She began promptly undoing the buttons to her dress, making his face redden before he caught her wrists in his hands.
"NO! Don't do that!"
Her eyes suddenly watered, making him tense when her lip began to quiver. "Gray-sama… doesn't want to sleep with Juvia…?"
He groaned, placing a hand over his face as his cheeks grew even hotter. "Don't say it like that…!"
But then she sniffed, and Gray quickly pushed himself forward because the last thing he needed was a flooded bedroom. Gathering her in his arms, he pulled her down with him, holding her against his chest while she squeaked.
"G-Gray-sama—!" she gasped, her face flushing a dark pink.
"When's the next train stop?" he asked, and another blush dusted her cheeks as she ducked her head.
"U-Um… in an hour, Juvia thinks?"
"Fine, then we'll leave then, all right?"
Juvia gasped, lifting her face up with sparkling eyes. "You mean—Gray-sama will sleep with Juvia?!"
"Just for an hour!" he replied quickly, adamantly whisking his blushing face away.
"Gray-sama!" she squealed, nuzzling her cheek against his chest before hugging him tight. "Juvia will be the best body pillow ever!"
"That—That stays between us, okay?!"

"You cannot die before you marry me!" she roared, hurling him above her before bending back in a backflip and throwing him down over her head.
Gray fell with a grunt and a thud, his legs hanging limply over his torso. Juvia straightened herself and huffed, gathering her discarded hat.
"Right?" she asked, fixing her hat on her head before glancing to his face. "Gray-sama?"
Stars spun above his head as his eyes swirled around in recurring spirals. Juvia gasped, worry instantly filling her face before she rushed to his side.
"Gray-sama?!"
Off in the not-too-far distance, Erza nodded, crossing her arms with a proud gleam in her eye. "That's my girl."
