DAY ONE ; 5:45 P.M.
When Touko Fukawa woke up, she was clutching scissors in her hands.
She screamed and threw them as hard as she could, backing up as well as she could while she was lying on the ground, feet tangling together and stopping her movement entirely.
How long had she been in control? How many people had she killed?
Fukawa could barely remember where she was – there was a farmhouse nearby, but there was a feeling in the air that made Fukawa think that it was entirely deserted…
Then she remembered and pressed her hands to her mouth to stop herself from screaming again. The Program – now she remembered it all. She remembered waking up in the classroom, she remembered following Byakuya out of the school, and she remembered… she remembered seeing Gundam Tanaka dead.
That had to be when she had taken over. When she'd seen Tanaka dead.
Fukawa shuddered again, glanced at the scissors, which were lying in the grass a few feet away, metal glinting in the afternoon sun, and decided to see what was in her bag. If she had eaten all of the rations, because Fukawa was a little bit nervous and a little bit of a nervous eater sometimes and it was horrible, made her even more of a cow than she already was (though not as much as Asahina; she was on another level altogether)…
She did find rations, though she had definitely been snacking. Alongside the rations and the map, which had to be splattered with blood but it was definitely not blood, she saw her weapon.
Time bombs.
There were three of them, alongside an instruction manual, laying out exactly how one should attempt to use them and not get blown up themselves.
Fukawa swallowed.
This was good. This was good, actually, because… because if there was a large concentration of people, she could… she could maybe go home, or…
Fukawa shook, glancing over to the scissors. As much as she hated her, maybe it was best to just let her take over until this whole thing was over. Maybe she would do a better job than Fukawa could ever hope to do – she didn't know how many people she had killed so far, but Fukawa was still alive, wasn't she? If it had been just her… if she hadn't existed… Fukawa was fairly certain that she would be dead by now.
So she would let Genocider Syo stay in command for now, and she would work on suppressing Syo once she was at home. After all, nobody would be a better contestant in The Program than the Super High School Level Serial Killer?
22 STUDENTS LEFT
This was supposed to be up yesterday, and it is technically original work month, but I thought I'd give you three last chapters before I disappear for a month!
