Author's Note: Someone on my writing tumblr requested an engaged Gray & Juvia meeting Gray's parents! And the following silliness ensued. I took some liberties with Silver and Mika's portrayal, clearly applying some headcanons which may or may not work for ya. I hope it makes you smile :)

summary: Welcome to my life.

"If you want to leave in an hour, we can."

"Nonsense, Gray-sama!"

"No, really. We can even stay for thirty minutes. Maybe just fifteen."

"But Juvia wants to see Gray-sama's parents! Because…" She smiled with a blush, squeezing their interlinked hands, "they're going to be Juvia's parents too, right?"

Gray blinked, a faint blush dusting his cheeks before he looked away and scratched his hair. "Er, right, yeah."

Juvia beamed and snuggled into his side, glancing to the engagement ring sparkling on her finger.

Walking over a snowy hill, Gray's parents' home soon came into view. White snowflakes piled on the rooftop as they trudged through the flurry, Juvia pressing herself closer to Gray's body despite him knowing she was far from cold.

"Okay, here we go," he mumbled when they reached the front door.

Juvia giggled, tiptoeing up and pressing her lips to his cheek. "Gray-sama seems more nervous than Juvia."

Gray scoffed, closing one eye as she scattered kisses across his face. "Well, you've met my dad. He can be a little, uh…"

"Juvia will relax you," she purred, and he arched a brow at her silky voice as she stood in front of him and wrapped her arms around his neck. He quickly closed his eyes when she leaned forward and pressed her lips to his, tilting her head with her hand on his cheek.

He instantly relaxed against her as her lips moved over his, her body leaning closer to his chest. His arms circled her waist and her hand slipped in his hair, weaving her fingers through the dark locks while he slanted his mouth over hers.

He brought his hand to her neck, angling her lips to deepen the kiss, but just as he opened his mouth, the door locks unlatched and the door swung open.

"Is that who I think it is?" a booming voice echoed, beaming a wide grin.

Juvia quickly untangled herself from his arms, to Gray's disappointment, and twirled around with a bright smile.

"FATHER!"

Gray winced at her shrill voice, quietly falling into place beside her. "Uh, we're not married yet, Juvia, you can't just call him—"

"DAUGHTER!"

He paused when Silver extended his arms for his fiancée, ready for her tight hug as she threw her arms happily around his neck.

"It's been too long, my dear girl!"

"Father-sama!"

"Daughter-chan!"

"Father-sama!"

"Daughter-chan!"

Gray's eye twitched at the exchange, silently stepping inside while Silver lowered Juvia to the floor.

"You're absolutely glowing, my girl! Tell me—are you carrying my grandchild?"

Juvia's face erupted in a flaming blush as steam shot out of her ears. "U-U-Um—"

"Let them get married first, Silver," came another voice, soft yet melodic as she fell into place beside them. "Then they can give us our twenty-six grandchildren."

"Twenty-seven, Mika! Good things come in threes! Just like the arrival of our little Gray!"

Gray groaned, smacking a hand to his forehead. "Don't encourage him, Mom," he mumbled, and she laughed sweetly as she embraced her son.

"M… Mother?" Juvia whispered, growing incredibly quiet while Silver stepped aside. "Gray-sama's… mother?"

"Ah, that's right," Gray muttered, idly ruffling his hair. "You guys haven't formally been introduced. Mom, this is Juvia, and Juvia, this is my mom."

The girl's eyes grew wide as Mika tilted her head, giving a warm smile. Beautiful white hair flowed passed her shoulders, her skin fair and eyes dark, just like Gray's.

"G-Goddess…" Juvia mumbled in awe, shrinking behind Silver and peeking around him.

Silver barked a laugh, bending an arm back and scratching his hair. "She sure is a looker, ain't she? S'why I married her!"

Juvia held a hand before her lips, ducking her head timidly. "So beautiful…" she murmured, flickering her eyes between Mika and Gray who stood with an arched brow beside her, "like… Gray-sama."

Gray squinted. "Did you just call me pretty?"

"Hey, don't give her all the credit!" Silver cut in, coming up behind Gray and clapping both hands on his shoulders. "Some of this face came from his handsome old man, ya know! Like this hair"—he ruffled Gray's hair while the boy grumbled a "hey" and tried to shrug him off—"this hair's a keeper, my dear. Look at me! Not a bald spot in sight! But I was a little bulkier when I was his age…"

"I ain't skinny!" Gray growled, slipping out of his father's grasp and clenching a fist. "I can bench twice my weight!"

"The lack of muscle definition speaks for itself, Gray," Silver nodded, holding a hand to his chin and stroking his goatee.

"Have you been eating well, honey?" Mika asked. "Your father was fitter when he was your age…"

"Mom!'

"Come, my boy! Your old man will fix you a man's meal—!"

"Silver, I told you I'm cooking tonight, remember?"

"Then Gray will eat double the servings! You know, Gray, the Fullbuster men have always been great cooks, and it's my duty to pass it down to you, but you're just as stubborn as your mother—"

"I don't need it! Juvia's a good enough cook for the both of us!"

"Is she?" Silver blinked, glancing to the girl who had been silently watching the banter. "Juvia, my girl!" She squeaked when he gathered her in his arms, lifting her up and fondly nuzzling his cheek against hers. "You are my true child! Take care of Gray, will you?"

Juvia laughed, smiling sweetly when he set her down to the ground. "Of course, Father."

He stared at her, silent before holding a curled hand under his watering eyes.

"You… remind me of Mika…"

"Come on, Juvia," Mika smiled, placing her hands on the girl's shoulders and leading her away. "Gray's father can get a little emotional sometimes."

Juvia blinked while Gray rolled his eyes, walking over and bringing his father some tissues.

"Come help me in the kitchen, hm?"

As soon as the girls disappeared to the next room, Silver instantly composed himself, glancing warily over his shoulder before looking to Gray. Gray cringed at the sly gleam in the older man's eye, instinctively leaning away until Silver snatched him with an arm around his neck.

"Son," he said under his breath, and Gray twitched, pulling at the hold around him. "Tell me, man to man, are you satisfying Juvia in the bedroom?"

Gray instantly stiffened, color draining from his face as his eyes widened. "What—what the hell?!"

"She's a sweet girl, Gray, and it's very important that she's satisfied in every aspect of the relationship—"

"What makes you think there'd be a problem?!"

"Well, she did confide in me some things—"

"SHE WHAT?"

"—and I've got some ideas that might help you out. Consider this, Gray: fur collars—"

"NO!"

"You know, I was always very receptive to your mother's ideas. Two bottles of tequila, a broken target, a ring of fire and empty ice bucket later—you were conceived."

"LET GO!"

"But that's not even the most exciting story, son. Once, we were stranded on an island, and there wasn't much to do so we had to get creative—"

"DAD!"

Over in the kitchen, Mika hummed softly, adding spices to the stew while Juvia chopped up vegetables.

"He really loves you," Mika said offhandedly, and Juvia stiffened, stilling the blade mid-slice as she glanced over her shoulder.

"E-Eh?"

"My son," Mika smiled, tucking a loose strand of Juvia's ponytail behind her ear. "I can tell. He looks at you the same way Silver did when we were your age."

Juvia blushed, shyly thumbing a lock of her hair. "M-Mother…"

"And I know you love him too," she added with a kind smile, "because you look at him the same way."

Taking her butterfly clip from her hair, the woman brushed aside Juvia's bangs, tucking them back before refastening the clip.

The girl reached up and skimmed her fingers over the clip, blinking in confusion. "Why…?"

"You have beautiful hair," she said, framing a strand around her face. "It compliments your eyes." Tilting her head, her lips curved in a warm smile while Juvia's eyes widened. "I'm glad. Silver loves you, and I've always wanted a daughter."

Juvia stared, stunned as her heart thumped in her chest. Unconsciously, her eyes began to water, unaware of the silent tears rolling down her cheeks until Mika tilted her head in concern.

"What's wrong?" she asked tenderly, wiping the tears from her eyes.

"S—Sorry," Juvia stuttered, giving a watery smile while her cheeks flushed pink. "Juvia's just… never had a family before…"

The woman's face softened, brushing a hand through her hair before drawing her towards her in a gentle hug. "Well, you do now."

Juvia choked a laugh, tightly returning her embrace while Mika stroked her hair. "Th-Thank you… Mother."

"How are my two favorite girls doing?" Silver bellowed, strolling inside the kitchen with a traumatized Gray dawdling behind. "Smells delicious in here!"

Releasing her hug, Juvia glanced to Gray, frowning in worry at his pale skin and soulless eyes.

"Gray-sama?" she called, rushing over to him and placing her hands on his cheeks. "What's wrong?"

"You can't leave me alone with him," he muttered, placing his hand over hers and gripping it tight. "Never again, Juvia." The girl giggled softly, smiling adoringly at him, and Gray squinted at the puffy redness in her eyes. "Wait—were you crying? What happened?"

He looked her over as Juvia shook her head, circling her arms around his neck and leaning her body into his. "It's nothing, Gray-sama. Juvia's just so happy, she loves you very much!"

Gray blinked at her, glancing to her face burying in the crook of his neck before wrapping his arms around her waist. He looked to his parents, finding his mother smiling beautifully while Silver nodded with a proud smirk.

Returning his gaze to Juvia, Gray asked quietly, "You sure nothing's wrong? If you changed your mind—"

"Never," she replied, leaning back and sliding her hands to his chest. "Juvia couldn't be happier."

He looked at the girl in his arms, flashing a small grin before drawing her back to his chest.

"Remember, Gray."

The boy twitched at the voice, shooting a pointed glare to his father while Juvia snuggled beneath his chin. Silver beamed brightly, drawing Mika to his side and holding up two fingers while she held up seven.

"Twenty-seven," he mouthed, and Gray's face instantly reddened.

"We're not having twenty-seven kids!"
