Super Mario Sunshine Adventure
Episode 6: Scrubbing Sirena Beach
"Mario and…his friends! We've got trouble!" the hotel manager squawked at the quintet once they got back to Sirena Beach in the deep and beautiful evening. "That electric goop is back! Where? Everywhere!"
Peering around the place, the five individuals noticed that Sirena Beach was in complete disarray. Everything was messy and had goop all over the place! It was like they did nothing to clean it up the first time! It was a horrible sight to behold!
"Ah, no!" Sonic exclaimed, pounding a fist into his open palm. "I have a feeling that Bowser's son had something to do with this mess!"
"This is awful!" commented Pauline, a frown adorning her facial features.
Blaze frowned. "Someone had nothing better to do…" she murmured.
"We have to clean this up!" Silver yawped.
The hotel manager looked at them seriously. "Good! You've got three minutes to clean Sirena Beach! GO!"
The timer started.
Nobody moved.
"Wait, what?" Silver gawked, eyes going wide. "Three minutes? How in the world are we going to clean this mess up in three minutes? Three minutes is not enough!"
"Well, you better stop talking and get to it!" the hotel manager informed him seriously. "There's no time to do chat or dawdle about!"
Before Silver could complain even further, the hotel manager shoved a mop into his hands along with a bucket of soapy water. Silver sputtered and tried to talk properly, but nothing came out. He was still too in shock.
"Three minutes is nothing, guys!" the fastest thing alive caterwauled as he stretched out his legs. "Let's blast through with Sonic speed!"
"Yeah? Well, now we have two minutes left!" Mario blubbered.
Sonic only smirked.
"Well, let's get to it!" Pauline found another mop for herself and then dipped it into Silver's bucket of soapy water. She pulled it out and then started mopping the ground of the electric goop. "Come on, come on, come on!"
Mario got into the action and ran around Sirena Beach, using FLUDD to spray all of the goop that was decorating the pretty place. It seemed like it was taking forever though, but he moved as fast as he could.
Silver rapidly started mopping up the goop next to Pauline, doing his best to hurry. He wore a frantic expression and looked like he was going to pass out at any moment due to his panic. "Two minutes! Two minutes!" he yelled at the top of his lungs in disbelief.
Sonic watched his companions clean Sirena Beach, noticing that they only had one minute left. The blue hedgehog laughed, finding that to be silly. HE could clean the whole beach in less than a second! Raising his hands above his head, he closed his eyes and focused hard. The speedy hedgehog willed the water behind him from the ocean to rise up. He grabbed a large portion of it, feeling it move.
The massive portion of sea water floated up into the air above everyone, towering dangerously above. Seeing a shadow casting upon them, everyone ceased their actions and looked upwards, seeing the enormous amount of water about to come crashing down into them. Fear gripped their hearts as well as awe. What in the world was Sonic trying to do?!
"Sonic…?" Blaze, who had been scrubbing the ground with a soapy sponge, brought her eyes over to the blue hedgehog. She had no clue what he was planning to do, but she did have an idea. The purple feline disliked her own idea though and didn't want to think about the outcome.
Sonic said nothing as he lowered his hands to his side. Everything happened really fast after that. The water came crashing down into Sirena Beach, dousing everything and everyone with water! Sure, it cleaned out all of the goop and everything, but everyone was starting to wash away in the water and heading towards the ocean! Sonic, who watched the whole thing take place, saw the rushing water heading right towards him as well as his friends!
"YOU'RE CRAZY, SONIC!" Mario yowled as he got carried away in the current.
Eyes widening, the blue speedster spun around and attempted to run for his life, but the water caught up with him and pushed him forward into the ocean. Sonic's yells were drowned out as he went under, struggling to swim back up to the surface. It was no use, however, and he continued to sink downwards. He didn't know how to swim, you know.
Silver got into the air and levitated, grabbing his friends and keeping them from getting pushed out into the ocean. He used his eyes to peer at all of the water. His fur was soaked and his teeth chattered. "What in the world was Sonic thinking?!" he squawked.
"I have no idea…!" Pauline belted out, arms folded as she spat out water. "He should've warned us before pulling a dangerous stunt like that!"
"Sonic doesn't think before acting…" Blaze commented with her eyes closed.
"Now you tell me!"
Mario darted his eyes all about, searching for the person that they were discussing about, but didn't see him anywhere! The plumber's heart skipped a beat and he tried not to panic. "Where is Sonic, you guys?! I don't see him anywhere!" he shouted frantically.
"I…I don't know!" Silver responded uneasily.
Mario glanced down at the water below them in the ocean. "Drop me, Silver."
"What?"
"Drop me!"
Reluctantly obeying, the hedgehog from the future released his hold on the red plumber and allowed him to fall into the ocean below. Mario crashed into the water and didn't waste any time in diving under.
Instantly, the red-capped hero saw Sonic struggling about in the water, looking about ready to breathe in water. The poor hedgehog wouldn't be able to hold his breath for long. Mario swam towards him and grabbed the hedgehog's wrist. Sonic looked at him in surprise, but Mario just started swimming upwards with Sonic.
When they broke the surface, the blue hedgehog gasped for air, eyes wide with tremendous fear. He clung to Mario for dear life, shaking. Mario swam them both back to shore where everyone waited and Sonic desperately kissed the ground, absolutely relieved to be back on land!
"You shouldn't have pulled that stunt, Sonic!" Mario scolded the speedy one.
Sonic gazed at him. "Sorry…"
"You could've drowned!" Pauline yelled and stomped over, pulling the blue hedgehog into a tight hug. "Don't ever scare us like that again!"
Sonic returned the female's hug. "I…didn't meant to scare all of you."
"Well you did!" huffed Silver.
"It's a good thing Mario saved you," Blaze talked, hands on her hips.
Sonic broke the hug he and Pauline were in and then peered at the red plumber gratefully. "Thanks, Mario! I so owe you one!" he exclaimed, giving him a thumbs up.
"Don't mention it," Mario smiled.
The hotel manager suddenly scurried over to them like a mouse and handed them a Shine Sprite. "This is for cleaning up the beach in less than three minutes! Good work!" he remarked happily.
Sonic grasped the Shine Sprite and held it up, jolly and all. "Hey, we got another one!" he declared.
Everyone was thrilled by this!
