DAY TWO ; 2:21 A.M.
Aoi Asahina had watched Sakura die. She'd woken up when Sakura had told her that she was leaving, and she'd followed her. She hadn't wanted to be alone… but then she'd seen Leon Kuwata come out of the trees, and she'd seen the resulting fight.
And now she was back at their camp, hugging her knees to her chest and crying. She didn't know what to do. Sakura was dead, she was dead, and now Asahina was alone again. Kuwata couldn't be too far away… he'd probably be tired out… but she couldn't kill someone. She just couldn't… she couldn't do it.
She gave her back a sidelong long. The spring baton was nothing special, but…
There had been another 'weapon.' A bonus.
Poison.
It wouldn't be her killing him, not really. Not if she put the poison in a water bottle, just in case… just in case he stumbled upon her. He'd be thirsty, and if he was stupid enough to drink it…
But why would he doubt her? He didn't know that she'd seen him kill Sakura. It would be just as bad as him killing her.
But… if someone killed her… it would be… it would be revenge. If they saw the water bottle, were thirsty, if they drank it. But did she want to do that?
She closed her eyes and buried her face in her knees. She didn't know. She didn't know what she was supposed to do. She should put the poison in the water bottle. She should do it. There was no saying she had to kill Kuwata, or anyone… and, anyway, it would be better to have it in the water bottle. Then nobody would get ahold of it and know that they'd gotten a hold of it.
She nodded and got to her feet, a little shaky. She made her way over to her bag and pulled out a half-full water bottle. It would be better to pollute this one than a full bottle. This way she wouldn't lose as much water.
She pulled out the poison, too, and tapped out as much as she dared into the bottle. She swirled it around, watching the powder dissolve, and then dumped the rest of the powder on the ground. She stomped on the powder, spat on it to dissolve it, and stomped a bit more until she couldn't see it.
Then she sat with her back to a tree and waited.
