DAY TWO ; 8:31 A.M.
Akane Owari found that if she pushed her fingernail too far into the collar, it would beep. She had no doubt that if she tried to force it off all of the way, it would explode. She didn't know how far down she had to go for it to actually explode, so she'd been standing and trying it, over and over and over.
She'd caught a few hours of sleep. Slept up in a tree, curled up in a nice nest-like area, and then she'd gone back to watching the school. She had to get the damn collar off.
She pushed down and her fingernail went all the way through. The collar clattered off of her neck and onto the ground. She stared at it for a few seconds, eyes wide, before crouching down, snapping it back together, and running for the school.
She could hear the panicked shouts before she squirmed in through the window of an empty classroom. Someone had fucked up, someone had fucked up and Akane Owari was going to abso-lute-ly destroy them. Goddam, was she going to destroy them.
She held her gun in one hand, but she probably would use her fists and feet more than the gun. She'd use the gun if she needed to. The gun would be useful. There was nothing quite like brawling with fists, though. She loved the feel of it.
She burst into the hallway and came face-to-face with two shocked soldiers. Both of them looked young. She punched one of them in the face and kicked the other one. She left the two of them behind her as she ran for the classroom they'd started in. Guards, no guards, she was going to kill the fucker that had been at the front of the classroom when they'd started this. She'd save her bullets for that, she decided. She'd shoot him so full of bullets the corpse would be half lead. He deserved it, because she'd heard the rest of her group – apart from Sonia – had gotten killed just after she'd left them.
She would have blamed herself. But she was too busy to blame herself.
She took out a few more guards, moving on instinct. She didn't know if it was her skill or the surprise of seeing a student in here that did it, but she liked to think that it was her skill. She left them behind her, groaning and shouting, blocking it all out.
She threw open the door to the classroom. Empty. Of course he wouldn't be in here. There was probably a big room, one where he could keep track of him. She turned around to keep going, and stared straight into the barrel of a gun.
Now was the time for the gun, it seemed. She'd kill these guys, then. She'd go down fighting, just like Nekomaru had taught her.
She shot the first one, and a bullet tore through her leg. She went down on one knee and kept shooting, shooting, shooting, getting caught in the side but still going. She shot until she was out of bullets, and then she staggered to her feet.
She lunched at the closest one and got a bullet to the belly. She kept going, ignoring the blood and the bile rising up her throat and the fact that her movements were sluggish and difficult, and another bullet sheared off a stripe of skin on the right side of her face. She kept going.
She kept going until one of them put a bullet straight between her eyes.
And then Akane Owari, lurching forward with one last step, crumbled to the ground in a heap. Blood soaked into the floor. She didn't twitch. She didn't get up and keep going.
She died.

Next section of chapters we get more deaths. This might be wrapping up soon-ish? IDK. We have some fun stuff coming up. Also, this is the last update until December.
