The births aren't in order. Sage gave birth first, then Kyburi, then Borealis, then Korosivash.
I was too lazy to place them in order :3
"You shouldn't let stress take over, Korosivach. It's not good for the children."
The woman glared Karmakarys. He had so little regard toward Sage's health that it made her sick! Their children were healthy! Why couldn't he think more about other people? Like Borealis! Knowing her brother was carrying neurons sounded so impossible. Yet, from what they saw, it sounded real. It was true.
"Sage is at the hospital, Karmakarys. This isn't a moment to think about our children!"
"I'm just waiting for them to get out!"
"Really? Wow, you are more excited than the lady who's carrying them!"
Karmakarys rolled his eyes and sat on a chair while his wife sighed. They both wished Sage would survive.
Agura wondered what woke her up this morning on another planet. Was it her internal clock, the soft breathing of her new boyfriend or just the mouth-watering smell of bacon in the frying pan? Or maybe it was the loud howling of Rodrick's cubs. Nonetheless, she was happy, even though she wasn't with her family. At least, she felt a lot more accepted.
"Shh!" She heard. The door opened and she heard giggles. She felt something jump on the bed and smell the blankets.
"C'mon, wake them up!"
"I'm trying."
Tezz groaned and slowly sat up, grabbing in the process his nephew and glaring his niece with a playful smile. Then, the smell of bacon came to his nose.
"Agura, do you wish to stay in bed any longer?"
"No, I'll come with you." She said, getting the clothes Mary had offered her. Susan had laughed the idea of sharing her clothes, joining her uncle and older brother to go see if there was something to hunt. Sergei, Susan, Sid, Thrash and Thrisha were so dangerous against strangers that they almost mauled Agura. The others welcomed her with one open arm.
"Hi, little lovers! How was the night?" Rodrick asked. One of his child had a mouthful of bacon and the other was trying to steal some from his siblings. His sister slapped him.
"No fighting!" The young father growled, getting the fangs out.
The children nodded, but the feisty one stole bacon from the nearest plate. Tezz sat down next to Agura and started serving himself, smelling the traditional and modern food at the table. He started feeling like a child. Then, he was embarrassed when his mother started teasing.
"That's a pretty lady. Lucky for you, Tezzy, it's breeding season."
"I thought you hated when we would use this wolf problem to get somebody and have that!" Rodrick pointed his children fighting over the last piece of sausage.
"It depends who, dear. I can smell a good person. In fact, you can too."
"Yeah, but she's a mortal, a human!"
Malika glared her husband and greeted her brother, serving them the plates she had hidden from the hungry and excited children. They whined with little eyes. Then, Marvel came out with a big branch.
"The first one to catch it gets chicken wings as dinner!"
The four children ran outside, turning into wolves and biting at the wood with fierce violence. Their father watched, proud of his children as he howled his parenthood.
"Krytus?"
"Yeah?"
"What do you see in the mirror?"
Krytus saw his beloved mate staring at herself in the mirror, naked. The small, half noticeable bump made her so cute, like a future mother unsure of the situation, which was quite true.
"Well, what do YOU see?"
"A whale pregnant of an elephant."
Krytus smirked, approaching her as he wrapped his strong arms around her, kissing her neck gently. Never did he stopped smiling.
"I am seeing my wife. The mother of my children. My woman."
Kyburi turned and hugged him, emotional. She then put on her dress.
"Let's go take this goddamn prize."
Kyburi found the seats uncomfortable and she felt an ache in her back. It was annoying, how it had to turn around her waist and be so uncomfortable. She watched her crew getting up to go take their trophies, followed closely by Desmond and she followed. A smile she had often passed through her lips as she grabbed her trophy. The same watery eyes as always, feeling loved and important.
"In my name and the name of our entire crew, I am thanking all of our supporters, friends and sponsors for their support. I love making movies and our actors love their jobs. Thank you all!"
The crowd became wild, applauding and whistling at them as they waved their hands in the air. They returned to their seats but Kyburi was awfully silent. She had stopped complaining, was gently seated, resting her head on her mate's chest. Though she was breathing loudly as if she was in pain, she stayed silent.
"Baby, you alright?"
"Yeah, don't worry for me, Krytus."
Back in the hotel room, the silence was too suspicious. Why was his wife sweating and breathing like she was suffering deeply? Couldn't she just tell him what was wrong? She couldn't?
"Baby..." Krytus called.
"Mmh?"
She opened her eyes at her husband. He had left the couch to where the TV was to sit next to her sleeping form.
"What's wrong? Don't you lie to me."
"I... ow...I'm in labor."
Now, she wasn't hiding her pained moans and groans as she clenched the pillows. Krytus controlled his panic and called Desmond, who was next door... by shouting. Though it disturbed some of the neighbors in the hotel, Desmond and his cousin arrived quickly.
"When did it began?" Desmond's cousin asked.
"I don't know..." Krytus was disturbed. He had no idea what to do, what to say, where to look without getting a death glare.
"In... the middle... of the prize... ceremony."
The RS5 leader froze. It began hours earlier? So she's been keeping it inside for so long?
Kyburi groaned and arched her back, gripping the bed sheets. The midwife made sure Kyburi got rid of her underwear before setting her correctly on the bed sheets. With only a wide white shirt on, the woman groaned and gasped for air. She almost kicked the midwife as she squirmed around.
"You are dilated at 89%," the midwife named Addie told, "wait a few minutes."
Desmond left the bedroom and went to the kitchen, bringing back the things his cousin left there. Krytus sat down next to the bed, visibly confused as to why his mate was constantly ignoring him. In fact, he wondered why. What did he do? He offered his hand but she instead grabbed the bed sheets.
"I never wanted them." She admitted between moans of pain.
"What... what do you mean?"
"I almost thought about an abortion, but you found out before I could buy the pills." Kyburi chuckled mockingly, but there was an underlying shame in her voice, filled with sadness. "I kept them because I didn't wanted you to mourn. I know how much you always wanted children."
Krytus thought for a second. She was right. He had always talked about it, always mentioned it. It had been one of his dreams, one of his goals. He had no idea why.
"I wasn't ready." His mate said. She squeezed her eyes shut in pain.
"I understand. I do not blame you for that."
The conversation was broken when the Addie announced that Kyburi could push when the next contraction hit. She did this exactly, roaring in pain. Addie ordered to push again as long as the contraction lasted.
"Good, good... Again."
Kyburi pushed again and screamed. After a few more push, she heard a loud wail.
"A cute little boy." Addie said, setting the baby boy in a towel and posing him on Kyburi's chest. The new mother choked a sob as she stared at it. He looked like very innocent version of Krytus, and definitely smaller.
Kyburi yelped and pushed again without warning. She didn't stopped until she heard another wail. This one was slightly louder.
"And that's a girl!" Addie said, smiling brightly as she did the same she did for the baby's brother.
The girl looked like a mix of her parents. She was taller than her brother and looked fierce.
"They're beautiful." Krytus said, kissing his mate on the cheek and gently grabbing the hand of his son. Kyburi agreed.
"Hey, I bought some giiifts!" Desmond barked, entering with two box wrapped with masculine and feminine colors. The neurons whimpered but stayed quiet. Krytus shot Desmond a death glare but took the gifts anyway.
The room was now silent as Korosivash delivered the last of the twin, another girl but this time a Red Sentient. Karmakarys cracked a smile, seeing his children for the first time. They both looked small and fragile, yet they had that little sense of strength.
"We aren't the only ones with children." Karmakarys said as he read the text message Krytus sent him, accompanied with two photos.
"How did they called them?" His wife asked.
"They haven't chosen yet."
"We should choose for ours."
Karmakarys was busy searching the clothes when he looked up.
"The red one will be Kija."
"Where did you get that?" Korosivash asked him as she dressed up the baby. Karmakarys shrugged.
"The blue one will be Perse."
Korosivash started laughing, ignoring the whimpers her child gave as they were being disturbed in their sleep.
"Why are you laughing?"
"That's a miracle! You gave good names!" Korosivash laughed harder but hushed down when the babies almost started crying. "Perse and Kija. Sounds strong."
"It's disturbing." Borealis admitted.
"This much?"
"I am getting opened in a place I never thought I had before!"
The drug was blocking the pain as the doctors were cutting his abdomen, searching the first twin. Loud wails emitted after a few minutes of wait.
"A boy, Red. A girl, Blue."
As the nurse handed the neurons to Kyrosys, the other doctors were busy closing the cut they had , they sent Borealis to a room to rest.
"Hey, there, beautiful."
The baby frowned when Kyrosys put on her the small pajama. She squirmed, not agreeing with the color or the form.
"You shall be Stella Maria. My little twinkle star. Your big brother is Karass Kannone."
Borealis sighed.
"Take care of them." He said.
"What?"
"I will stay with you until you can take care of them by yourself, near two years old."
"Why?"
"They cannot know me."
Reluctantly, Kyrosys nodded. He had the money, the house and the time to be the perfect father. He just had to come up with a lie when they would be older and ask where was their mother and why his mate was a man.
Waiting patiently in the waiting room, Sol and Vert ignored each other. They couldn't stand each other and both had to stay. The door to Sage's room opened and the doctor exited.
"We can increase the chances of survival if we act quickly. We need to operate in the next two hours. Unfortunately, miss Sage is rejecting the anesthetics we are giving her."
"Which means..."
Sol's eyes widened. He understood what it meant.
"We will have to do a caesarean with her being fully conscious. She will feel everything."
"No..."
The doctor nodded grimly, looking down.
"We have no other choices. The advanced will survive with minimal assistance, but the premature will be very young even though he was made at the same time as its brother."
Vert nodded, agreeing. Sol did too, sighing.
An hour later, they heard screams of pain and agony emerge from the room, mixed with small, weak wails. Sol threw his cup of coffee away, almost jumping on Vert for making Sage go through all of this. In the end, they entered the room. Sage was fixed to a lot of machines while the neurons were in incubators. The advanced was named Solo while the youngest was named Lucas.
"Sage... please, survive." Vert pleaded.
