Forever Young

Hello all! So I haven't been getting much feedback lately, I would really appreciate it if you reviewed. I don't want to be the person who begs for reviews but... oh wait I guess I am the person who begs for reviews...oh well. I hope you enjoyed last chapter and I hope you enjoy this one even more. I probably would have posted yesterday but my family was here and we went shopping and I was in a bitchy mood and I was like "Nope, not today." So here is this lovely present from me to you. Enjoy!

Chapter 24: Meeting Mr. Malfoy

Cassidy's POV:

It was the day before winter break and I was finishing packing before having to get ready for Slughorn's Christmas Party. I would be the only one of my friends going this year because Lily and Marlene are both sick and Ellie was not invited.

"I don't understand why I have to go," I whined as I started getting my things out.

"Because," Lily sniffled. "You promised Slughorn you would."

I groaned and went into the bathroom to start prep. I had showered this morning so I just needed to do hair and make-up. I decided to just straighten my hair and apply natural make-up not really caring if I was dressed to the nines. I pulled out a short black cloak along with a short black dress and gold sparkly heels. I changed and buttoned my cloak and looked in the mirror.

"You look great," Marlene said her voice stuffy and clogged up. I smiled sympathetically knowing she wanted so badly to attend her final year.

"Thanks Marley," I said rubbing her shoulder. I put on some long gold necklaces and dangly gold earrings and left the room to join the boys downstairs. I clomped down the stairs and when I finally made it down I stomped my two feet on the ground.

"Alright," I sighed shaking my hair out. "Let's get this bloody thing over with." James and Sirius laughed at me and we left the Common Room and went down to Slughorn's party.

Like always I had a terrible time. It was loud and Slughorn kept making me talk to different people. When I was finally able to get away and get something to drink someone put a hand over my mouth and pulled me behind a curtain. I felt my heart rate quicken and I was about to take action when his voice spoke in my ear.

"It's me Cass," Sirius' voice whispered his breath hot on my ear. "James already left, I told him I'd get you." I let out a large sigh and relaxed my tense body. He let go of my mouth and I turned to face him.

"You do know this is -"

"Kidnapping? Yeah I know," he said with a smirk. I rolled my eyes and he placed a hand on the small of my back leading me out of the curtain and away from the party. We went back to Gryffindor Common Room. When we went in only a few people were there. James came over and smiled.

"Glad you guys made it," he said with a grin. I said good-night and promised James I'd tell Lily he hopes she feels better. I went upstairs and quietly went into the dorm. It was dark so I assumed everyone was asleep. I discarded my cloak on my bed and began to take off my jewelry.

"How was the party," a voice asked. I cursed and dropped my earrings on the floor. I light the candle on my night stand and saw Ellie sitting on the edge of her bed smiling.

"Bloody hell Ellie," I whisper hissed. "Give a warning next time."

"Sorry," she said innocently. "Did I frighten you?"

"Yes you bloody-," I stopped mid-sentence and changed the subject to something I've been wanting to say all week. "What's up with you? What are you and Peter doing," I whispered walking towards her.

"What do you mean," she asked playing dumb.

"You know what I'm talking about you-"

"What's going on," a nasally voice asked. Lily had sat up in bed and was lighting her candle.

"Nothing," Ellie said. "Cassi was just telling me what a great time she had at Slughorn's Party."

"Oh," she said not truly comprehending what Ellie had said. "Just be a bit quieter."

"You got it Lil's," I said through gritted teeth. She blew out her candle and laid back down. I waited a few moment before speaking again.

"I'm on to you Smith," I said lowly. "I don't know what you and Peter are doing but I'll find out and when I do I'll put a stop to it. If you plan on hurting my friends you can forget about it. I'll stop at nothing to protect them, so you better watch your back."

"Is that a threat," she challenged.

"Hell yeah it is," I growled. She laughed and took a step forward.

"I'm not afraid of you Cassidy," she said. "I don't have any reason to be. You, you're nothing." She then tossed her white blond hair over her shoulder and sauntered out of the room. I glared at her retreating form. I finally let out a huff and began to get ready for bed. I pulled on sweatpants and a t-shirt on before slipping under the covers. I tossed and turned before finally settling in and letting the darkness take over.

The next morning I woke at 7am and began to wake the others. I entered the bathroom and wiped the remnants of last night's make-up off my face. I pulled my still straight hair into a ponytail with a braided headband across the top of my head. I pulled on jeans, a gray sweater, and a blue knit infinity scarf. I laced up my black converse and finished getting my things together for winter break.

"How come you aren't going home for break Ellie," Marlene asked as we all finished getting ready.

"My parents are visiting my sister in Paris," she said shrugging her shoulders.

"Well Peter's staying behind as well so you won't be too lonely," Lily said. I rolled my eyes and muttered under my breath.

"What was that Cassi," Lily sniffed.

"Nothing," I chimed with a smile. Ellie glared at me and I glared back before grabbing my jacket from my cupboard.

"Have a happy Christmas guys," Ellie chirped as we went downstairs. I once again rolled my eyes but kept walking without saying anything. We ate a quick breakfast before making our way down to Hogsmeade.

The ride back to London was quite. Lily and Marlene slept, Remus and I read, Sirius and James talked quietly. When we reached the platform we said our good-byes and made our way towards our loved ones. Sirius, James, and I found Spencer waiting for us with a small smile. I ran and jumped into his embrace.

"Hey Sassy Cassi," he said hugging me back placing a small kiss on my head. "Hey guys." He said to the boys.

"Hey Spence," James said. "Where are my parents?"

"They're out on a mission," he said grabbing my trunk. "They should be back by tonight. I'm taking you back to my place for a little while." We nodded and made our way to the floo. We floo'd into his flat and set our bags in his old roommates room.

"What happened to him," I asked as I sat at a stool in the kitchen.

"He had to leave town unexpectedly," Spencer replied his brow furrowed. "Haven't the foggiest idea why."

It was around 5 o'clock that evening when the doorbell rang.

"I'll get it," Spencer said jumping up from the couch. "It's a lawyer who's helping me with something for work."

"Hear that Cassi," James said nudging my leg. "Maybe he can talk to you about… lawyering and stuff."

I rolled my eyes. "Lawyering and stuff? Merlin James how in the hell are you passing anything."

"That my dear is a secret," he said with a wink. I pretended to throw up and we all ended up laughing until Spencer came back in with a familiar looking man.

"Cassidy, James, Sirius this is Lucius Malfoy," Spencer said pointing at the man next to him. The man was blond and had intimidating grey eyes. I've seen this man before and most certainly heard the name, but I can't put my finger on it.

"Lucius this is my younger sister Cassidy and her friends James and Sirius whom I'm sure you've heard of," Spencer said pointing at the three of us.

"Indeed I have heard of the young boys," Lucius scoffed. "Mr. Potter how are your parents?"

"They're very well thank you," James said stiffly.

"And Mr. Black I'm sure you remember me of course," he said with a slight smirk. "How is your family?"

"They could be dead for all I know," Sirius sneered. "I'm sure you better than I do. How's my cousin Narcissa anyways? Still as bitchy as ever I assume?"

"Sirius," I hissed.

"You guys might remember Mr. Malfoy from your first few years at Hogwarts? He was a prefect for Slytherin," Spencer said trying to change the subject.

"Yes of course," I said with a polite smile. "You yelled at me my first year because I was lost and couldn't find my way to the potions classroom. Awfully rude now that I think about it." Sirius and James were stifling laughs while Spencer just glared at me.

"I do apologize Miss. Clark," he said. "But you were rather annoying if I remember correctly, how could I not yell?" James let out a small laugh and I glared at him before turning back to Lucius.

"Well-"

"We better get started on that work," Spencer interjected giving me a pointed look. "Shouldn't we Lucius."

"Indeed," he replied with a nod. "Children it was a pleasure." James and I gave small smiles but Sirius just crossed his arms and grunted. After the two men left the room I turned to Sirius.

"Could you be any ruder Sirius," I said slapping his arm.

"Excuse me, but that man is a complete jerk," he said. "How could I not be rude? Now I can see why Narcissa married him. Their personalities match almost exactly."

"Well you could have just said nothing," I told him. He mumbled a 'whatever' and excused himself to the loo. An hour or so later the doorbell rang once more and I stood to get it.

"Take your wand," James said tossing it too me. I caught it and made my way to the door. I looked through the peephole and saw Graces auburn hair. I squealed and flung open the door.

"Grace," I exclaimed pulling her into a hug. "I've missed you!"

"Oh I've missed you too Cassi! Get the boys, Christopher's getting started on dinner," she said kissing my cheek. I nodded and made my way back to the living room to grab Sirius and James. We grabbed our bags and I went into the kitchen to say good-bye to Spencer.

"Bye Spencer," I said hugging him. He kissed the top of my head and held me close.

"Bye Cass," he said. "I'll be by tomorrow so we can go to the cemetery. And then I'll see you again on Christmas."

I nodded my head and kissed his cheek once more.

"Good bye Mr. Malfoy," I said extending my hand. "It was a pleasure to meet you."

"And you as well Miss. Clark," he said shaking my hand. "Your brother tells me you are interested in the law, yes?" I give him a curt nod.

"Well maybe we'll cross paths next year," he said giving a creepy smile.

"Ready Cass," Sirius said popping his head into the kitchen.

"Yeah," I said still looking at Lucius. "I'm ready. See you tomorrow Spence." I walked over to Sirius who put his hand on the small of my back guiding me to the door. We left the apartment and then apparated to the Potter household. I took my things up to my room and put them away before I was called down to dinner. After dinner I showered to wash away the day's dirt and slipped into my pajamas before jumping into bed and falling asleep almost immediately.

"Cassidy, Cassidy sweetheart wake-up," a soft voice whispered to me. My eyes fluttered open and I see Grace standing over my bed with worry in her eyes.

"Grace? What's wrong? What time is it?" I asked starting to sit up in bed.

"Cassidy dear you have to get dressed and come with me ok," she said helping me out of bed and grabbing some clothes from my closet and setting them on my bed.

"Grace," I said a bit louder and more alert. "What's wrong, please tell me what's wrong!" She sighed and sat me back on the bed and crouched in front of me. Oh god please don't say what I think you're going to say.

"Cassidy there was an accident," she said calmly.

"What happened," I said my voice barely above a whisper.

"Cassidy it's Spencer, he was attacked early this morning by Death-Eaters,"

There's one of those cliffhangers that we all know and love! I've been waiting for another cliffhanger for like 3 or 4 chapters. I hope you enjoyed. What are our opinions on Lucius Malfoy right now? He kinda sucks right...yeah that's what I thougt. Credit to my BFFLAO Gabby for giving me the idea to bring Malfoy into this story. I have so many ideas and playthings now! Did I just say playthings...I meant... uh... characters?
