Super Mario Sunshine Adventure
Episode 1: Returning the Shine Sprites
"Come on, step it up!" Sonic cheered as he performed some impressive breakdancing upon the grassy ground. There was now a circle of Piantas formed around him, cheering him on as they laughed and played music in the background for the blue hedgehog to dance to. Everyone was still in Pianta Village, having a grand time. They were still celebrating the Fluff Festival, which was awesome!
Silver was chowing down on a plate of seafood as he watched the other hedgehog, a gleam of mirth sparkling in his eyes. "Sonic sure is good at that, right?" commented Silver, grinning from ear to ear.
"I agree," Blaze said from beside him, munching quietly on a freshly peeled banana. "But I think he's a bit of a showoff, if you know what I mean."
"Eh, a little," stated Silver, shrugging.
Mario and Pauline approached the group. Instantly, Pauline started dancing with the Piantas, guffawing at Sonic's breakdancing. Mario just watched, not interested in dancing. Besides, he couldn't really dance all that great.
"Well, we've been here for four hours," commented Mario, looking at his friends. "I think it's about time we leave Pianta Village. This is the last time we're coming here, well, for now. I think we should see if we can get into Corona Mountain now. Peach and Amy are probably waiting for us."
"You think?" Sonic sarcastically put in as he walked over to them. He was done breakdancing and was staring at the plumber as if he had grown a second head. "They've been waiting all this time! I wish they could've joined us at the Fluff Festival!"
"Being kept in a mountain with Bowser and his son sounds like it sucks…a lot," Silver spoke, shaking his head and quickly finishing up his seafood. "We should hurry and get them out of there!"
Pauline peered at them, ceasing her dance moves. She was beginning to feel sad again that their journey was almost over, but she remembered what Sonic said and put on a small smile, forgetting about her sadness. "But we don't know if the entrance is opened yet, you guys."
"There's only one way to find out," replied Blaze, heading towards the wooden bridge. "We have to leave this village and get back to where we started.
Everyone agreed.
As soon as they returned, they were immensely shocked to see that the entire area was flooded with water! Before they could say or do anything, the group of five found Shadow Mario on top of the structure where the red Warp Pipe was. Shadow Mario cackled at them, almost mocking them.
Right after that, he turned around and leaped off of the thing, landing in the small pool of water below and swimming for a minute. When he was done, he climbed up onto the grass and quickly headed for the hole that led into Corona Mountain. Without saying anything else, Shadow Mario disappeared within the hole. It was clear that the entrance was unlocked and they were more than welcomed to venture inside!
"Hey! The way is open!" shouted Silver, eyes wide.
"But wait…why is everything flooded?" exclaimed Pauline, hands flying to her mouth.
"That's what I'd like to know!" yelled Mario.
"Me too…" trailed Blaze, arms crossed.
Sonic glanced at his companions, concern written across his facial features. "Guys, do you know what I really wanna know?" he asked them.
"What?"
"How are we floating in the air like this?" asked Sonic, looking down beneath their feet. They were, indeed, floating in the air, as high as the structure. There was deep water below them too.
Everybody exchanged a nervous look before howling simultaneously and falling down into the water below. Sonic instantly freaked and struggled to stay above the water. Mario was there to grab his arm and keep his head above water. "Calm down, Sonic!"
"I HATE WATER!" howled Sonic, still flailing about even though Mario had a firm grip on him.
Silver treaded water, gazing around in compete shock. "How is this even happening? How is everything flooded? Where in the world did all this water come from?!" The hedgehog was freaking out now.
"Who knows?" Blaze grunted.
Pauline swam over to a building and climbed on top of the roof. It was easy because the water was that high. Once on top of it, she confronted a brown Pianta man. "Sir, are you alright?" she asked him, wringing out her burgundy hair.
"I'm fine," he replied easily. "The boats are still running, even in these conditions! Amazing!"
"Uh…okay?" Pauline put on a bewildered expression as her comrades joined her on top of the roof of the building.
Mario suddenly gasped. "Where are the babies, Toadsworth, and the other Toads?!"
"Oh no!" Silver wailed. "Not the poor babies!"
A yellow Pianta that was on another roof, gazed at the heroes, ignoring their concern and just thinking about himself for the moment. "Gosh! What a spectacle! I'm just glad to be alive!" he exclaimed.
"What if the babies weren't alive?!" cried Silver.
Blaze whacked him in the back of the head, frowning at his ridiculous behavior. "Shut it, Silver! They're fine, okay? There's no sense in thinking that way!"
Silver rubbed his head. "I'm sorry!"
"I guess I just don't understand city life…" rambled a brown Pianta with shades on, standing next to his Pianta wife. "Am I supposed to be soaking wet?"
"So this is one of the "shining eyes of Isle Delfino"?" his wife sputtered, obviously upset.
As the group moved on to search for Toadsworth and the rest of the company, Mario frowned. "What did she mean by that?" he questioned.
"Who knows?" Sonic retorted.
Suddenly, they caught sight of Toadsworth on one of the roofs, sitting on his behind and wiggling about, a deeply concerned expression painting his face. "Master Mario! Master Sonic!" he blubbered loudly, eyes widening.
"Toadsworth!" Sonic and Mario rushed over to him. "Are you alright?!"
"I'm fine, but…!" Toadsworth jumped to his feet, worried. "Did you see that? A fountain of water! It crashed down like a tidal wave! And it seems hot!"
Sonic and Mario looked at each other. "The water isn't hot…and no, we didn't see what happened. We were too busy celebrating in Pianta Village…" Sonic looked guilty afterwards, pursing his lips.
"It's alright, Sonic." Pauline patted the top of Sonic's head. "At least we're here now."
Sonic just smiled at her.
"Do you happen to know where the babies are at?!" Silver frantically demanded to know of Toadsworth.
"Um…they should be with the other Toads!" answered Toadsworth. "Huff, I say!"
Nodding, everyone ventured away from Toadsworth and approached another roof, finding the green headed Toad, running back and forth in a frenzy. Sure enough, Baby Peach and Baby Daisy were with him, napping.
"The town's flooded!" screamed the Toad, hands in the air. "How could so much water fall at once?!"
"BABIES!" screeched Silver, diving in and scooping up Baby Peach and Baby Daisy into his arms. He hugged them close and gave them love. "I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE OKAY!"
"Silver, calm down!" Blaze told her boyfriend, shaking her head. "You're probably terrifying them!"
Baby Daisy opened her eyes and gave a cute yawn, staring up at Silver with her big eyes. "Dat Sivew?" she questioned, almost gawking at the hedgehog.
"Yup! That's me!" Silver cheerily answered.
Baby Peach's eyes were open too. "Yay!"
"Um, hate to break it to you guys, but we have somewhere to be!" Mario told them, sounding urgent. "Peach and Amy are waiting for us!"
"Do you think we should return the Shine Sprites back to the big one?" Pauline suggested hurriedly as she followed Mario towards the structure. They took the roofs to get there. Blaze was behind her and soon Sonic was too. Silver said goodbye to the babies and followed too.
Mario nodded shortly. "Yes!"
So, that's what they did as soon as they reached the structure again. Everyone lined up together and faced the giant Shine Sprite in the structure. When they did, they released all of the Shine Sprites that they had collected and they all floated up and surrounded the massive Shine Sprite. Instantly, everything seemed brighter and the sky was cleared up, the light shining down upon everything! Well, somewhat.
"Now that's what I'm talking about!" Sonic whirled around and he and Mario shared a high five, laughing happily.
"Woo!" Mario cheered.
Silver did a little dance, waving his gloved hands in the air with a huge smile decorating his lips. "Oh yeah! We did it!" The guy was so very joyous.
"I can't believe we did it!" Pauline breathed, hands clasped in front of her as she grinned from ear to ear, her eyes were sparkling with unhidden merriment.
Blaze looked at them, refusing to celebrate. "Guys, I wouldn't be celebrating so soon. We haven't gone into Corona Mountain yet and we still need to recue Amy and Princess Peach."
"She's right!" announced Mario. "Let's-a go!"
