DAY TWO ; 1:30 P.M.
Byakuya Togami didn't have time to rest. He didn't have time to sit down and stretch his legs and drink water. He was doing so anyway, however – time or no time, he needed to be as ready as possible for what was to come. He had a feeling, nagging at the back of his mind, that it would all end soon. There had been very few people left at the end of the last announcement, and who was to say that most of them wouldn't be dead by now?
He did wish that he had been able to remember if Naegi and Asahina were dead or not. It was still bothering him, even now, as he stared at the list of names on the side of his map. He decided that they both must be, unless one or both of them were holed up somewhere away from everywhere else.
No. No, Naegi was dead. He remembered it now, and the fact that he hadn't remembered seeing Makoto Naegi's dead body before terrified him for a few moments. But it was just because someone like Naegi wasn't worth remembering, but now that he did remember he could cross off Naegi's name.
Yes. That was right.
Naegi was dead.
But had it really been Naegi's body there? Or had it been someone else? Had it been Hinata? They looked similar. The hair. The hair was similar –
No. He'd killed Hinata. Hadn't he?
He was starting to forget, and while he supposed that that wasn't so bad in the long run, if it persisted beyond the end of The Program it would have to be looked at. He shoved his glasses up – they were slipping off of his nose, he was sweating. He was sweating too much.
He'd been here long enough. He was stretched, and he was hydrated, and he needed to get a move on. It didn't matter that he was starting to forget who was dead and who wasn't. He needed to keep going east. There were people to kill.
And he had the means to kill them.
3 STUDENTS REMAINING
One more chapter today! Like the previous one, this chapter was super short and didn't have anything going on, but, hey. Bit of a breather from the last set.
