Forever Young
Hello and Happy Spring Break for those of you that have it (ME!). So on Saturday I went to my friends for her birthday party and we went to Build-A-Bear Workshop (don't judge!). After that we went shopping and I bought a super cute dress for Easter, and then our one friend dropped her phone in a public toilet...it was hilarious...but sad for her phone. After that we went home and watched TFIOS (I only cried for an hour afterwards! Jk it was 2hrs...) and I saw Mockingjay Part 1 finally! Also we watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 so it was an emotional weekend for me. I hope you all had a great one as well and always remember Shin Splints Suck!
Enjoy this chapter! I was still going along with the Sherlock Holmes theme.
P.S. I don't own HP or Sherlock...Damn it.
Chapter 40: Elementary, My Dear Sirius
Cassidy's POV:
I readjusted my salmon colored blouse and jeans as I made my way up the stairs of the astronomy tower. I was already late because I spent 20 minutes hiding from Ellie before being able to start getting ready. I reached the top of the stairs and saw Sirius sitting on the edge of the tower his back towards me. I took a deep breath and then began to speak.
"I really like having knowledge of everything that goes on around me," I started. He turned back to look at me and I kept going forward. Moving towards him I continued on. "When I know everything it makes me feel in control. And when I have knowledge and am in control I feel one step ahead of everything and everyone. And being one step ahead ensures that I won't get hurt." I took a seat next to him and let my feet dangle over the side of the tower.
"My mom died because she wasn't in control of what was happening to her," I told him. "The same thing went for my dad. He couldn't control his depression, it just came to him in waves. And when the waves became uncontrollable that's when he broke. I always figured if I could keep in control of everything that went on in my life then I would stay safe and away from harm.
"That's why I have to know everything Ellie is planning. That's why," I paused for a moment. "That's why I play Sherlock. He know's everything and anything. He was in control and stayed alive."
We were both silent for a moment before he spoke as well.
"Even Sherlock Holmes had some help Cassidy," he said softly. "I'm willing to be Dr. Watson if you're willing to let me be."
"Of course," I smiled placing my hand on his. We were both quite as we looked out on the grounds of Hogwarts.
"By the way I love the cow boots," he teased lightly kicking my foot with his.
"Thanks," I said proudly crossing my legs. "I always thought I was a country girl at heart."
"Really," he asked surprised at my statement. I smiled and kissed his cheek.
"Elementary my dear Sirius," I said.
"Of course," he laughed. As we sat in a comfortable silence I leaned my head on his shoulder and snuggled into his side. He wrapped his arm around me and we enjoyed the intimate moment.
"What did you do to Severus," I asked quietly. "I won't be mad or judge you...just please tell me." He let out a large sigh and he began to tell me.
"It was towards the end of last year," he started. "I had just been let out of the hospital wing after I was knocked off my broom, remember?" I nodded and shivered at the echoing of the crack I heard as soon as the bludger had connected with his shoulder.
"Well it was a full moon and I was meeting the guys down at the Shrieking Shack like usual," he continued. "I ran into Snape on my way and he kept taunting me and saying all these things to get under my skin. I ignored him and just let it go until he said something that really got under my skin and I just...snapped I guess.
"I told him about the notch on the tree," he spoke softly his head down. "I told him how to get in and then I left. I regretted it as soon as the words tumbled out of my mouth but I had already said it, I couldn't go back. By the time I got down to the Shack and told the guys it was too late. Snape was there and Remus was starting to transform. James ran down and knocked him out and brought him out of the Shack but he had already seen me and Peter transform to keep Remus back.
"The guys wouldn't talk to be for almost a week," he said as he looked out on the Hogwarts grounds. "Worst week of my life."
"I remember that," I said. Sirius had spent the entire week avoiding everyone. One morning I had found him sleeping on the couch in front of the fireplace and I told him to go upstairs and sleep and that I'd cover for him in classes.
"What did Snape do after that?" I asked him. "Did he tell Dumbledore?"
He shook his head. "We made sure he didn't."
"Okay," I sighed. We both continued to be silent to afraid to say anything. Finally I broke the silence.
"James was my first kiss," I admitted softly. He snapped his head up and looked at me with a confused face.
"Pardon?" he asked a grin starting to form on his face.
"That's what happened when we were nine," I said reminding him of what James had said when he was in the hospital. "When we were six I had always dreamed of having a boyfriend and wanting to kiss him, James promised that if I didn't have a boyfriend by the time we were nine he'd give me my first kiss. And he did."
"Are you for real?" Sirius laughed. "That's freaking hilarious! Why didn't you want to tell me that?"
"For this reason exactly," I grumbled elbowing his side. "Now lets go it's getting cold."
"Not before I do this," he said leaning down to kiss my lips. I smiled into him before pulling back and leaning my forehead against his.
"Will you Cassidy Anastasia Clark attend the Farewell Ball with me?" he asked breathlessly. I nodded my head and kissed him once more before pulling away again.
"Let's go trouble maker," I said standing up and grabbing his hand to pull him up.
"You got it Princess," he said keeping his hand in mine as we went back to the common room. After I changed into my pajamas that night I snuck up to the boys dorm and snuggled into Sirius' arms not wanting to be alone in bed. I woke up early and snuck out again so I wouldn't raise any suspicions. I went up to my dorm to shower and get ready for Hogsmeade. It wasn't to cold today so I opted for black leggings, a loose maroon sweatshirt, and my brown fringe boots. I pulled my hair into a knot on top of my head and went down the the Hospital wig for Madam Pomfrey to check my hand.
"Well it doesn't look horrible," she said as she examined it. "Just try not to move it to much." She instructed.
"You got it boss," I smiled as I hopped off the bed and then made my way down to the Great Hall to meet my friends for breakfast.
"You girls ready to find some dresses!" I exclaimed as I sat down. "I for one can't wait!"
"What's put you in such a chipper mood," Marlene asked as she ate her cheerios.
"Nothing," I smiled. "Just happy to be alive I guess."
"Okay then," Lily said looking at me suspiciously. "What color where you girls thinking for dresses. I wanted to go with black and maybe red or gold heels?"
"Black would be great for you," I nodded my head agreeing. "Marlene I think you should go for a red or orange color. It'll really go with your personality."
"I hate you," she pouted.
"I'm only joking," I laughed. "But I do think red will be great for you. Red or maybe even silver or white."
"What were you thinking Cassidy?" Lily asked.
"Whatever pops out at me," I said shrugging. "Doesn't really matter to me."
"Blue," a voice said in my ear. "You should wear blue, it brings out your eyes." I looked next to me and saw the Marauders sitting down. Sirius kissed my cheek and I smiled.
"Thank you for your input Mr. Black," I said all professional like. "Your opinion will be put into consideration."
"He's right Cass," Marlene put in. "A deep navy blue would look great on you. Especially with your blonde hair."
"Alright then," I said. "Lily will get black, Marlene silver, and me navy blue. Objections?" Everyone remained silent.
"Good! Now lets go get our shopping on!"
