Forever Young

Hello all! Happy April First and Happy Birthday to the Weasley Twins Fred and George! My best friend texted me this morning and told me that JK Rowling was coming out with a series about the Marauders next April. When I texted back all excited she said "April fools!". I was beyond pissed off. But then I went on a two mile run and met these two cute dogs so everything is A-Okay! So I hope you enjoy this chapter! Next one should be up on Saturday or really early Sunday, maybe even before then if you're lucky! Kisses!

Chapter 41: The Dark Side of the Moon

Cassidy's POV:

"No way! There's no way in hell you will get me into that piece of fluff!"

Let's just say I'm not the easiest person to go shopping with.

"We've been shopping since 10 o'clock this morning and you have yet to find a dress Cassidy," Marlene groaned. "I'm hungry and we're almost out of dresses to try on."

It was now almost 3 o'clock and I was the only one without a dress. Lily had found a beautiful, long black dress made from lace that was fitted at the top to around her hips then flared out. She also found a pair of slick red sandal heels that went almost perfectly with her hair. Marlene on the other hand found a strapless dress that had jewels all the way down until her mid-thigh were a slit went down to the floor with a goldish/creamish colored fabric. She had found a pair of sandal heels the same color as the fabric.

And me? I had nothing.

"Nothing here suits me," I mumbled all traces of my earlier good mood gone. I had forgotten how much I hated shopping for fancy dresses.

"You're impossible Cassidy Clark," Marlene muttered as she searched through the racks of dresses. We had strayed away from just blue and began looking at all the dresses to give me more choices.

"I'll just start looking back here," I called as I went towards the back of the store to browse not entirely hopeful that I'd find a dress. I looked at dress after dress and found nothing. Right when I was about to give up I turned to head back to the front of the store when my mouth dropped to the floor.

"Marlene! Lily! Get over here right now!" I called a smile beginning to breakout across my face. I heard their footsteps running towards the back and I saw their faces when they saw the dress.

"Oh my gosh," Marlene breathed.

"It's gorgeous," Lily squealed.

"It's perfect," I confirmed. We all looked at each other and squealed as we called the attendant to help me try it on. Once I had wiggled into it and had it zipped I walked out to show the girls. They gasped and nodded their heads.

"That's the one," they exclaimed together. I smiled and nodded as I went back in to change. When I came back the girls had picked out shoes and jewelry for me to wear with it. We then went to the register to pay before going out to lunch and then heading back to the castle for the evening. After dinner Sirius and I rested in the library working on our Charms homework.

"Did you find a dress," he asked as I scribbled down the final words of my essay. I nodded excitedly but said no more.

"Can I see it?" he asked.

"Nope," I shook my head as I blew on the last sentence on my parchment. "You have to wait until the Ball."

"Why?" he complained. I rolled my eyes and began to pack up my things.

"Because I said so," I told him. He groaned and I laughed as we made our way back to the common room. As we were walking his hand casually slipped through mine and I smiled and leaned over to kiss his cheek. Right as we were about to enter the Common Room James exited the portrait with his invisibility cloak in one hand and an old piece of parchment in the other and with Peter by his side. He had slowly begun to hang out with the Marauders again

"Hey Pete, Hey James," I smiled.

"Hey Cass, Padfoot you coming," James asked.

"Bollocks," Sirius cursed. "I almost forgot. Sorry love we've got to be going." He leaned down and kissed my cheek before pulling the parchment away from James.

"Where are you going? Where's Remus?" I asked before they left.

"Fool moon Cass," James said quietly.

"Oh right," I said looking down. "Be careful, all three of you. And give Remus my best alright? Tell him I'll try to visit in the morning before the reviewing session in the Great Hall."

"You got it love!" Sirius called from down the hall. I smiled and entered the portrait hall and went up to the dorms to get ready for bed. I pulled on a pair of pajama shorts and a t-shirt that read "Coffee is my Lover" in a picture of a coffee mug. I also slipped on an oversized gray Cardigan and knit white socks that went to just below my knee. I sat on top of my bed and read A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens to make me fall asleep.

It wasn't working.

It was a little before eight when I started and way past midnight by the time I finished the book. Lily, Marlene, and Ellie had all fallen asleep. I put the book away in my trunk and quietly left the dorms. I went down the stairs and then up to the boys room to see if they were back yet. When I opened the door only Peter was there.

"Peter are you okay?" I asked.

"I'm fine," he said. "Just feeling sick. James sent me back and said to go to the Hospital wing. I just had to put on my pajamas to make it look like I was sleeping."

"Oh," I sighed. "Well feel better."

"Thanks," he said. Before he left he turned back to me. "Did you need something?"

"I just needed to see Sirius," I said embarrassed. "I want to make sure he's okay."

"He will be," Peter reassured me. I smiled as he left and then went over to Sirius' bed. I laid down on the bed and cuddle into the pillow inhaling his scent and feeling instantly safe and secure. I closed my eyes and almost instantly I was asleep.

Sirius' POV:

"Damn," I groaned as I stretched feeling a burning sensation around my ribs. "Moony was rough tonight."

"He's probably letting out pent up sexual frustration," James chortled.

"He and Mckinnon still haven't shagged?" I asked surprised. They had been together longer than both Cassi and I and James and Lily.

"I don't think so," James said. "He would have told us wouldn't he?"

"Moony can be to himself when he wants to be," I stated.

"True," he said as he opened the door to the dorm. He stopped suddenly in the doorway and cocked his head to the side.

"What is it mate?" I asked putting my hand on his shoulder to move him aside. I saw a figure laying down on my bed. I looked at James and moved towards it. I could tell whoever was in my bed was sleeping due to their even breathing. I held onto my wand and kneeled down as I muttered 'Lumos' so I could see their face.

"Cassidy?" I said surprised noticing her instantly.

"What's she doing here?" James asked.

"Dunno," I whispered. I gently nudged her to wake her up. "Cassidy love, can you wake up for me sweetie?"

"Hmmm?" she mumbled as her eyes began to blink open.

"What's wrong Cassidy," I asked brushing a stray hair off her face.

"I couldn't sleep," she said her voice groggy with sleep. "I wanted to make sure you were alright."

"I'm okay love," I smiled. "I promise. Did you want to stay here tonight?"

"Could I?" she asked in a small voice almost scared I'd say no.

"Of course," I agreed. "I just have to shower real quick and I'll be back."

"Okay," she mumbled before closing her eyes. I chuckled and give her a quick kiss before carefully shedding my shirt and kicking off my converse and heading into the bathroom. James was already in there showered, dressed and was currently brushing his teeth.

"What'd she say?" he asked through a mouthful of toothpaste. I pulled out some cream to sooth the pain in my ribs and started to apply it.

"She couldn't sleep cause she was worried," I told him. "She's staying here tonight if thats okay."

"Totally," James said as he started to leave. "Just don't try anything funny."

"You got it Prongs," I laughed. I put the cream away and began to shower. I dried off and pulled on a pair of pajama pants and went out to go to sleep. I saw that the clock read 5:17am. I sighed and laid down next to Cassidy. She instantly cuddle against me and I smiled kissing the top of her head and drifting into a deep sleep.

Cassidy's POV:

I woke up the next morning in an unfamiliar place. It took me a moment to realize I was in the boys dorm with Sirius laying next to me. I smiled as I took in his sleeping form. He looked younger when he slept, less worried and stressed. I stretched up and placed my lips onto his. His response was almost instantaneous.

"Mhmm," he moaned in pleasure as he pulled away. "I wish I could wake up like this everyday."

"Maybe after we graduate," I said kissing him once more. He tangled his hand into my hair and rolled onto his back bringing me to straddle his waist. As we continued to kiss I reached down to pull off my shirt but his hand stopped me.

"We can't Cassidy," he sighed pushing me away gently.

"Why not," I groaned. "I just want to forget about everything else, even if it's only for a little while. And who are you to deny me that?"

"Well for one James is right over there," he pointed out. "And two we have to be at the reviewing session in about an hour and we have to get ready."

"He's right Cassidy," I heard James say from the bathroom. "I am right over here. And didn't you say you wanted to see Remus before hand."

"I did say that didn't I," I sighed. I rolled off of Sirius and groaned. He rolled onto his side and kissed my cheek.

"Soon," he whispered into my ear. "I promise."

"Okay," I whispered back leaning up to kiss him once more before sliding out of the bed. "I better get going. Lily and Marlene are going to wonder where I am."

"You better use this," James said tossing a shimmering material at me. I caught it and looked at it before realizing what it was.

"Your invisibility cloak," I nodded. "Smart, I didn't even think of that. Thanks James."

"No problem," he said. "Now go before they send out a search party." I smiled and wrapped the cloak around myself and quickly and quietly making it out of the dorm and down the stairs. I made note that Lily and Marlene were waiting on the couch most likely for their boyfriends. I suddenly felt guilty that Marlene probably still didn't know about Remus. I sighed and made a mental note to talk to him about before scurrying up the stairs. The room appeared empty so I shed the cloak and deposited it into my trunk.

"Someone had a late night," a voice came from the bathroom. I jumped and turned to see Ellie exiting in a pink dress with brown wedges.

"Or an early morning I guess," she sneered. I rolled my eyes and turned back to my cupboard to find something to wear.

"Why do you care how I spend my evenings," I asked over my shoulder. "It's not like you care about me."

"Oh but sweetheart," she said. "I do. Or at least I did before you dumped me for those fools you call friends."

"Get over yourself Ellie," I snapped whipping around. "We were like five. So what I abandoned you to play with James. Is that really a good reason to want all of my friends and family dead?"

"You have no clue what you are talking about," she growled stepping closer. In her shoes she towered over me but I didn't back down.

"Leave my friends and family out of whatever feud you have with me," I said sharply.

"You got it bitch," she snarled before storming out of the room. As soon as she left I could feel hot tears running down my face. I groaned in anger and ripped the first thing I saw out of my closet and ran into the bathroom to change. I pulled on a simple white t-shirt with jeans and a floral scarf. I laced up my converse and tied my hair into a ponytail as I went down the stairs.

"Ready to go," I announced as I reached the bottom of the stairs.

"What's wrong love," Sirius asked from his seat on the couch.

"Nothing," I said. "Nothings wrong, why would you think somethings wrong?"

"You've been crying," he said as he came over to me. I inwardly cursed at myself and wiped my face.

"Just stubbed my toe," I lied. "Hurts like a bitch. No need to worry, now lets go."

"Cassidy," Marlene said placing a hand on my wrist. "You barely cried when you broke your arm in 3rd year. I doubt you'd even flinch if you stubbed your toe. What's up?"

"Nothing," I snapped. "Nothing is wrong now lets go for Merlin's sake." Everyones eyes widened at my sudden outburst and I closed mine and sighed.

"I'm sorry Marlene," I apoligized. "I didn't mean to snap." I let out another sigh and went to sit on the couch. "I ran into Ellie when I was upstairs and she just got to me. I shouldn't have let her but she just makes me so mad!" At this point I had started crying again. Not because I was upset but because I was angry.

"It's okay Cassidy," Lily said sitting next to me. "She's not worth your tears."

"I know," I said wiping my eyes. "She just makes me so mad!"

"I know," Lily consoled as she rubbed my back. "Forget about her. Lets go downstairs and review, that'll get your mind off of her."

I nodded. "You're right. You're completely right. Let's go, review. Those NEWT's aren't going to take themselves."

"That's the spirit! Lets go," Lily said hopping up and linking her arm through mine. Marlene linked hers through my other arm.

"We'll catch up," James called. "We're going to visit Remus and Pete real quick."

"See you there," we called over our shoulders as we left the Common Room with our heads held high.

You know how there are those kinds of characters you hate so much you can hardly read the page they're on or a watch a scene they're in? Ellie is one of those characters for me. When I go through and edit my chapters I want to kill Ellie off so badly! Hmm... I hope you all enjoyed!

XOXO,
