DAY TWO ; 2:53 P.M.

Sonia Nevermind was most likely saved by the bullet punching through Kuzuryuu's stomach. As soon as it happened he dropped the gun, and his visible eye widened, and he fell forward. Sonia didn't know how he hadn't heard Togami crawling up, because he had been quite loud, and if she hadn't been taking shelter and trying not to die from the hail of bullets, she most likely would have tried to kill him.

But now, cut up and bleeding, Sonia Nevermind looked to be in a lot better shape than both of them. She could see Kuzuryuu's back moving up and down as he took in his last breaths – the bullet had gone through the side of his stomach, and hadn't hit anything that would kill him instantly. Once she killed Togami she could come back and perform a mercy killing. He looked to be in a lot of pain.

Togami wasn't paying attention to her. He stood up, swaying a little on his feet. His hair was mussed and dirty, and there was blood and dirt smeared across his face like he was a cast member of Lord of the Flies. His clothes were ripped. Somehow this unhinged, dirty version of Togami scared Sonia more than much anything else, because the last time she'd seen him he'd been fine.

Well, not fine – he'd been torturing someone, and that was not quite the label of a healthy mind, but he'd been himself. And now… now it was…

But he wasn't paying attention to her. So she adjusted the bulletproof vest and readjusted her grip on the crossbow. She could shoot him, right here and right now, and then she could kill Kuzuryuu if he wasn't dead by that point. He was still breathing, she could still see his back moving up and down. She watched as he pushed himself up onto his knees, one hand clasped so tightly over his wound that his knuckles were white. He reached into his bag with the other hand.

Togami continued standing and swaying and scaring her.

It was then that she noticed the blood staining Kuzuryuu's earlobes. He'd gone deaf at some point – and when he pulled out a grenade, she thought that maybe he'd been around those too much during this situation, and she wondered how many people he'd killed. She would prefer to not have to kill Togami, because Kuzuryuu looked as though he was willing to keep going until he literally keeled over and died, and if she were to shoot Togami now it would tell him that she was still alive.

So she would wait.

She crouched down and kept her crossbow trained between the two of them. She didn't know which one was more dangerous.

But she would most certainly kill at least one of them.
