Chapter 43: Freedom

Cassidy's POV:

"We're free! At last we're free!" James squealed as soon as he exited the Great Hall that afternoon.

"Don't get too excited pal," I laughed as he twirled me around. "We've still got classes until the end of May."

"Yeah but it won't be much information that will have to be retained," he pointed out. I rolled my eyes and pushed him forward up the stairs. As he tripped and fell I laughed and jogged passed him hurrying to get away before he could catch up to me.

"You're going to pay for that Clark!" he called after me. I snickered as I jogged down the hallway eager to get away. I turned a corner and bumped into a tall frame.

"Oh sorry," I apologized as I grabbed onto them for support. When I realized who it was I smiled. "Hey, I was just looking for you."

"Where you now?" Sirius said kissing my cheek.

"Indeed I was," I smiled. "You left pretty quickly after your practical. James made me wait for him."

"Where is he?" he asked looking around me not seeing his best friend.

"Somewhere on the 3rd floor probably," I laughed. "I tripped him on the way up here and then ran away. He wants my head on a silver platter."

"Now I doubt that love," Sirius teased. "Why don't we go somewhere he can't find us."

"Where? The whole school is out and about, it is Friday afternoon you know." I pointed out.

"Indeed I do," Sirius said. "But where we're going he can't find us unless we want him to. Follow me." He grabbed my small hand and led me down the hall. We went all the way to the 7th floor but instead of going into the Gryffindor Common Room we kept going down to a fairly familiar empty wall.

"The Room of Requirement?" I questioned. He only winked and began to walk back and forth a few times before a door appeared. He opened the door and held his hand out for me to take. I stared at it and smiled before taking it and following him into the room. It was similar to the Gryffindor Common Room except there was only one couch in there with a fireplace.

"Well this is cozy," I commented looking around.

"I figured we haven't had much alone time recently," he admitted taking my hands in his. "This is as good a time as any, right?"

"Alone time hmmm?" I teased."Is that code for you're trying to get lucky?"

"It might be," he said closing the space between us. His lips were soft and taste like all things Sirius. He was gentle but at the same time there was so much passion in a simple kiss. I let go of his hands and wrapped my arms around his neck backing him up so he fell to the couch. I smiled and unbuttoned my cloak and leaned down to kiss him once more. I straddled his lap and began to unbutton his shirt.

"Cassi are you sure," he asked breathlessly. "There isn't even a bed in here."

"Check again," I whispered standing up holding out a hand. He looked over his shoulder to see the bed that had appeared while we were… occupied.

"Who are you and what have you done with Cassidy Clark," he joked as he stood up taking my face into his hands.

"She's been replaced by a more fun and carefree version," I winked as I lead him over to the bed.

I flop onto the pillows letting out a sigh of content.

"That was.." I trailed off.

"Bloody fantastic," Sirius finished wrapping his arm around my naked form. I laughed trying to catch my breath. I snuggled into his side and breathed him in.

"I love you Sirius," I whispered into his shoulder.

"I know," he smirked. I slap his shoulder and he laughs. "I love you to Cassidy. I can't wait to see what the future has in store for us."

"Me either," I whispered closing my eyes as I began a descent into the best sleep I've had in a long time.

I woke up to a feeling that someone was watching me. My eyes began to flutter open and I saw my lovely boyfriend staring down at me.

"Were you watching me sleep?" I asked through a yawn.

"I was admiring your beauty," he defended.

"Well admire it when I'm awake," I told him pulling the blanket on the bed up to cover me. "It's bloody creepy to watch a girl sleep in my opinion."

"As you wish love," he said leaning down to kiss my cheek. I smiled and snuggled against him once more. Then a thought washed over me and I shot up clutching the blanket to my body.

"What time is it?" I hissed. Sirius looked at me strange and then his face paled.

"Shit," he whispered. I groaned and we both shot out of the bed and began to get changed.

"They're gonna know," I worried as I laced up my converse. "They are so gonna know that we were...you know."

"Having sex?" Sirius offered.

"Ugh!" I whined pulling on my cloak and heading toward the door. I peered my head out and saw that the sun was beginning to rise.

"Damn it," I hissed. "We've got to hurry before James and them start to worry."

"Stop worrying Cass," Sirius soothed. "It'll be okay."

"Come on," I whispered seeing that the coast was clear. We took off down the hallway and whispered the password to the portrait and went in quietly. The clock above the fireplace read 7:00am.

"Night Sirius," I whispered. "Well morning actually."

"Good-bye Cassidy," he said taking off up the boys staircase. I smiled and went up my own staircase to the girls 7th year dorm. I quietly tip-toed in and shut the door.

"Cassidy Anastasia Clark where the hell have you been!" a voice hissed at me as soon a the door shut. I closed my eyes and cringed before turning around and smiling.

"I was just out for a morning run Lily," I said. "Where else would I be?"

"Why are you in your school uniform from yesterday?" she asked her arms crossed against her chest. Crap, I've been caught.

"Fine," I groaned. "You caught me Lily! I was off having a crazy night full of passionate, passionate sex. You should try it some time. Really great stress reliever and a great way to celebrate." I winked and shed my cloak and toed off my shoes before heading into the bathroom. I finished undressing and jumped in the shower washing the night away reveling in the thoughts of all things Sirius. His hair, his face, his scent, his body. I had Sirius Black on the brain and it was amazing.

I got out of the shower and dried myself off. I wrapped the towel around my body and entered the dorm. Lily was read and sulking, Marlene was making her bed, and Ellie was no where in sight. I smiled at Marlene and pulled on a pair of army green cargo pants and a white t-shirt with lace lining the bottom. I re-laced my converse on my feet and left the room without uttering a good-bye. When I started up the boys steps I was met by Sirius. I immediately turned around and took his hand in mine and we went into the Common Room.

"Well my roommates know," I said as we exited the portrait. "Yours?"

"Well James refused to even acknowledge the fact I had been out all night," he laughed. "So I'd say they know."

"We gotta learn to be sneakier," I noted. He laughed and nodded.

"Ready for the ball next week?" he asked.

"I guess," I shrugged. "It's sad to think it's our last big party here."

"They'll be plenty later in life," Sirius reassured me.

"Promise?" I asked.

"Promise," he smiled. We went to the Great Hall and began to eat breakfast. Our friends joined us a little later.

"So what does everyone want to do today?" I asked. "We no longer have to worry about our tests so we are free."

"How about a girls day!" Marlene squealed. "We haven't had one in forever."

"Girls day sounds great," Lily agreed.

"I'm in!" I cheered. "Lets go." We all stood and began to leave.

"What about us?" called James.

"Boys day!" I yelled over my shoulder. Lily, Marlene, and I went outside to sit by the lake and chat. It felt good to be catching up with each other after what felt like a lifetime of testing. We spoke of boyfriends, dances, and scandals around the school.

"Wait are you sure she's cheating?" I asked. "That doesn't seem like Lizzy."

"Positive," Marlene confirmed. "I heard her and Danielle talking about it after the Charms NEWT on Monday."

"Poor Nicholas," Lily sighed. "He really likes her. He always talks about her in Defense." We were all silent for a moment before I spoke once more.

"What are you guys going to do after graduation?" I blurted out. "I mean, are you getting jobs right away? Are you waiting until summers over? Are you moving out? I mean what, what are you doing?"

They both stared at me blankly.

"I haven't quite figured that out yet," Lily admitted. "I was going to start applying to jobs after we got our NEWT scores. McGonagall said they should be here next Saturday or Sunday."

"Marlene?" I asked.

"Well I've applied already to a few internships at the Daily Prophet, Witches Weekly, and a few other papers and magazines," she said. "Once I hear back I'll go from there."

"What about you Cass?" Lily asked. "What are you going to do?"

I gave her the same look she had given me.

"Honestly?," I asked. "I have no freaking clue."
