Disclaimer: Still don't own it
Breaking into Jenna's house was going be harder than they thought.
As Mona and Spencer lay in the darkness of the bushes, they watched as Jenna and Shauna left the house to go out.
It seemed that the blind teen was rather clever in her choice for her living conditions; right next to an apartment complex where Rosewood cops lived. In fact, all the tenants that worked on the police force had a full view of the house that the teens lived in; or at least the perimeter of the small place. It also appeared that there was always an off duty cop home at some point in the day; thus the two girls hiding in the shadows could see Wilden through his window. He looked to be watching tv but they could not get into Jenna's house without being seen by him. While they could get back to their car without being seen, having parked a few blocks away, they just could not risk trying for the various windows or even the back door. The place was just too small to effectively break into without being noticed at all.
Unfortunately, the two teens had to break into the house tonight given that the rest of the girls were going for it tomorrow. Mona had managed to learn from Hanna's phone that Jenna and Shauna would be out for the next two nights; with tomorrow night being the longest. This meant that if they needed to plant the evidence, it had to be now despite the conditions for the next day being more favorable. Spencer had learned just a few minutes ago from Emily's phone that all the cops in the apartment complex would be working tomorrow night; which her former friend had learned first. That made things all the more prevalent that they had to do this despite the risk since there was a lot riding on this plan. They had to get into that house somehow though it pretty much looked impossible at this point.
The house itself looked to be rather small with no yard to speak of. This was a bit unusual for a house in Rosewood and the building sat in the middle of a clearing of sorts; with nothing to hide around from passing people. It was painted green, which looked to be fresh, and the windows looked to be covered by blinds instead of curtains. The front door was a golden brown and the trims were of a matching color that Mona found rather ugly when she thought about it. The house did appear to have an actual chimney though it was metal instead of brick. Whether it was in use was a question that could not be answered from being outside; though Spencer believed that it probably was was given the cold winters that Rosewood had. The roof was rather new in her opinion since it did not appear worn at first glance; though it was rather dark so the teen couldn't be completely sure.
"What do you want to do?" Spencer asked Mona as she saw that Wilden wasn't budging from his spot. Even though his window was closed, the curtains were wide open as well as a couple other apartments with officers home.
"I am not sure; we do need to get in there though since everything we have planned hinges on us planting that evidence," answered a very concerned Mona; eyeing the time. Jenna and Shauna would only be gone for an hour or two so time was of the essence.
"I agree; but if we try to make a break to the house, then we get spotted by the residents next door. We can't even get to the back of the house without being seen; unless we get lucky and all the cops suddenly go use the bathroom," stated the other teen with a trace of hope in her voice.
"There is also no guarantee that we can even get into the back door; if there is one though it's likely there is. I wished we had more time to scope out the place but there was none," the shorter teen told her friend; trying to come up with a viable option. This was one of the rare moments when one of her plans was going to fall apart; which she absolutely hated.
"Well we might have to call this off after all; I don't see a way for us to make this work in all honesty," Spencer admitted in defeat; this being the first time in her partnership with Mona. She was feeling frustrated at having the scrap the entire plan even though a lot had gone into it.
"No; we put a lot of effort into this plan and I refuse to let it fall apart now. Do you have you're a phone on you?" Mona asked her friend, looking over at the teen. She had forgotten her own phone at home and didn't think she would have needed it tonight.
Technically, Mona and Spencer were supposed to be at the movies in order to watch another foreign film; then going to one another's home given that it was a school night. Mona's mother was back in town and Leona had noticed the slight spring in her daughter's step; making her conclude that something had happened between the two teens. As a result, the mother was planning to keep a close eye on her daughter on the weekends; even making sure that Mona and her friend were supervised somewhat. She had been tempted to tell Spencer's parents about the new relationship if it had reached the next step; but decided against it. As much as she liked the Hastings, they were a bit prudish sometimes. Leona had no idea how Peter and Veronica would take their daughter coming out as gay; she herself was slightly unsure how to take it that Mona was in a relationship with her daughter.
Still better than her being with Noel Khan in the older woman's opinion.
"Here it is; who are you going to call?" asked Spencer puzzled as she handed the device to her friend. Usually Mona used the phone to text people; not call which was interesting given that she couldn't see the number Mona was dialing.
"Hi; I just watched a cop get gunned down at the old Campbell farm. You need to send help because he keeps bleeding and I can't stop it," said Mona in a fake panic tone of voice before hanging up. Spencer noted that her friend was disguising her voice for the 911 call.
"Are you insane? What if they try and trace the call?" asked a surprised Spencer on what her friend just did. While they had taken bold moves before, this was on a whole other level.
"I know what I am doing; just wait for it. Besides, I went to a lot of work to make sure that there could be no tracing our A phone; just in case Alison did the stupid thing and went to the cops," Mona said to her friend; shrugging the teen off. She had longed planned for for something like that just in case the cops did become involved.
Spencer wasn't sure what the point of the 911 call until a few minutes had passed; which the results were quite evident. All of a sudden, the cops in the building, including Wilden, raced out of the apartment complex and into their cars; taking off as if demons were chasing them. Once it was apparent that there was no one watching the house anymore, Mona turned to her friend and simply smirked. Spencer had to smile at the bold but effectiveness of what here friend had just done; more than impressed. With the coast clear, Spencer and Mona made their way to the house; though slowly and carefully just in case. They went to the back and found that there was indeed a back door; with a simple lock that Mona was able to pick. The backyard was rather large with no fence; though a large hedge separated it from the empty lot behind the house. There was nothing in the lot and completely free of observation.
With the lock picked, the two teens made their way inside the small house; quite surprised on what they found. The place was rather homely with brown as well as clean carpeting, white colored walls, and furniture that looked to be antiques. There were a large number of snow globes all about the front room; which were all Jenna's. Spencer knew that the blind teen liked to collect the objects for some reason; learning that from Mona. Her friend had no clue why Jenna liked them and figured that it had to do with something from the past. There were also pictures of Jenna and Shauna together on the walls as well as family members of the dark-skinned teen; some even with Jenna's family as well. There was a television on the far wall though it looked to be from the previous century. The sofa was made for two people to sit on and there was a coffee table which had a few empty cups on it. The kitchen was rather modern with grey tile for the flooring and appliances that were pretty advanced; no doubt to accommodate the blind resident of the place.
"So do we want to just plant the evidence or do you want to have a look around?" Mona asked her friend as she looked around the place. It was apparent that the aspect reflected more of Shauna than Jenna; which made sense given the fact that Jenna was blind and couldn't care how the house looked.
"We have an hour; might as well check out the place to see if Jenna has anything we don't," answered Spencer as she looked at the magazines on the coffee table. Some were for blind people and the rest dealt with sports; mainly swimming.
"We'll have to be careful; I have read that blind people have a better sense of when their environment has been intruded on. Also, I imagine that Jenna and Shauna have long sensed known that their home might be intruded on at some point. We'll do a light search only and leave the heavy stuff for the girls so we can leach off of them later," advised the shorter teen as she went to the old school desk that lay in the corner next to the radio.
The occupants of the house had a pretty advanced sound system set up; which Mona could understand given the circumstances. As she went to the old school desk, the teen opened it up and saw that it definitely belonged to Jenna given the papers using braille inside. Unfortunately, Mona had never bothered to learn the script so she had no idea what it said. She took out her real phone and snapped a few pictures of the surface papers; not wanting to risk disturbing the papers given that Jenna probably had an order to them. There didn't seem to be anything else so she decided to move on by going over to the book shelf; where there were more books for someone with Jenna's handicap. It seemed that everything else had to deal with athletics though Mona spotted a few trashy romances as well. It seemed that Shauna was a fan of the Hunger Games and other adult teen books; which was rather surprising.
Spencer wandered into the bedroom, making sure to step around the carefully placed items on the floor. She had a feeling that the objects were there for some sort of security reason; a way for the residents to know that someone had been in their house. While the place was not sloppy in any way, it still looked like it was occupied by a pair of teens living on their own. The door was already wide open and the teen stepped inside; not really surprised on what she found. There was a queen-sized bed with grey silk sheets with matching pillows; with a darker colored quilt folded at the end of the bed. There was a large brown oak dresser next to the right side of the bed with a bathroom on the left; the bedroom door faced the bed in the front. There was some clothing scattered about; though Spencer could tell if they had been there deliberately or because the occupants hadn't bothered throwing the clothing in the hamper. Spencer got a little red when she saw the lingerie and was slightly curious to which teen it had belonged too.
"See anything of value?" Mona asked as she came up from behind Spencer from outside of the room. Like the front room, there were some pictures of Shauna and Jenna on the walls as well as another sound system; with a small collection of CDs that were full of soft romance.
"Not at first glance; though I am hesitant to look even more; did you plant the evidence?" inquired the other teen as she looked over at her friend.
"Yes; wedged in between some books that have a bit of dust on them. If we are lucky, Shauna won't clean before tomorrow night," answered Mona as she picked up a flimsy negligee off the ground. The red-colored garment looked to be Jenna's given its size and was definitely for more intimate use.
The evidence in question was a bit of photos, documents, and other little things that would strongly hint that Alison was A. One of them had Alison at a café where Aria and Ezra had been on a date though the date on the picture had been photo shopped; as a way to show that Alison knew all about Aria and Ezra's secret relationship. Another piece of evidence had been a few copies of Alison's diaries detailing how the blonde wanted to come up with an alias to keep her friends in line; even using the concept of faking that someone had been stalking her for a while. The writing was a forgery though Mona had long mastered the talent of forging Alison's writing; which would convince the girls further. There was also some tickets showing that the blonde had been to places that she had lied to her friends about; saying that she had not been the subject of some sort of harassment. One final little nugget was the first hand account of Alison providing Noel Khan with the firecracker to scare Spencer and Mona; even detailing how Noel was to dress up and text Alison to fake a scare. While all circumstantial and interpretive, it might be enough to plant the seeds in the rest of the girls.
"Do you see us having a place like this; maybe some time in the future after we leave highschool and Alison dealt with once and for all?" Spencer wondered out loud suddenly; more out of curiosity than anything else. Ever since their intimacy in the shower a few days ago, the teen wondered what the future might hold for them.
"I could; we already plan to go to the same school and it wouldn't be an issue for us to live together under the same roof," answered Mona with a shrug. She had a feeling to where her friend was going with this but decided to let Spencer take the lead.
"And in the same bed?" inquired the taller teen in a tone that indicated that she was more than curious about the answer.
"Well we have already taken that step haven't we? We do need to be careful though since my mother probably knows; though I do wish to enjoy that experience again," purred Mona in a sultry way; caressing Spencer's arm slightly. Although the shower they had together had been a surprise, it had evolved into something more rather quickly.
"I know; we might have to spend our dates outside our households for a little while. How about Friday night we spend some time watching a movie at the theatre? The one we were at previously was rather empty and plenty of privacy for us to enjoy," suggested the taller teen with a little sultriness of her own. Like Mona, she had enjoyed their time together and wanted to be a little bolder in their relationship.
"That sounds good to me; we need some time off and a night to ourselves," said Mona with a warm smile. She caressed Spencer's arm a little more before she and her friend went back to the task at hand.
"Agreed; especially since we are only a short time away before our major move against Alison," stated Spencer with an evil smirk in which Mona met with one of her own. In planning their frame up of Alison, they had finally planned their final confrontation against the blonde.
After a little more time had passed, the two made their way out of the room and decided that it was time to go. After making one last check that everything was secure, Spencer and Mona made their way out of the place and into the shadows of the night. The police were still gone from their apartments and there wasn't a soul in sight. Smiling that their plan had gone well, the teens decided to get something to eat before heading home; going to The Brew for some sweets and coffee. Before they headed inside, the two changed out of their black hoodies and into something a little more casual; have some small intimate fun while they changed in the car. It amazed both of them that they could be this bold around one another in such a short amount of time; though it was understandable given their closeness. Both felt that they had found a soul mate in one another with a future together. Now they only needed to deal with the one obstacle in their lives before settling into a future with only them.
