Mona was not happy.

This was evident by the silence that was pertaining inside the car as she headed to Spencer's house.

Her friend was supposed to come over to her house so that they could help one another get dressed for the dance; also to do each other's makeup as well. That changed when Spencer called her last night to tell her that the plan had changed and for the worst. Her parents, remembering what had happened at the last dance, decided that their youngest needed a chaperone this time and that it would be Melissa. Thus, the older sister would be going with them to the dance with her husband along for the ride. Veronica had called the school to let them know what was going on and they agreed; basically so they wouldn't have to deal with another incident. Rosewood High was already on thin ice with what happened to the youngest Hastings sibling and the last thing they needed was a lawsuit if something else happened.

To say that their entire plan was in jeopardy was an understatement. With Melissa there at the dance, this meant that the two teens would be under constant watch the entire time from the elder sibling so there was very little chance of them slipping away; much less luring Alison to her planned death. The young woman would be suspicious of any attempt at them deliberately removing themselves from her sight; becoming even more suspicious if they did manage to get away from her in order to kill Alison. Mona knew full well that Melissa Hastings was brilliant in her own way and would probably put two and two together though Mona doubted that she would go to the cops about her suspicions. The teen did feel that the elder Hastings sibling would probably work her parents to stay away from Spencer and that was something that she couldn't afford to have. Mona had lost Hanna to Alison and she couldn't live with herself if she lost Spencer because her parents decided that Mona was a bad influence.

It had been tempting to let Melissa in on the entire plan; maybe using her absolute hatred for Alison as a way to enlist her help. When she had still been partners with Lucas back in the day, Mona had toyed with the idea of drafting Melissa onto the A Team; whether through coercion or enticement. As much as they hated eachother at the time, they both hated Alison more; especially with what happened with Ian. Mona also knew that Melissa was not overtly fond of her sister at that time as well and even the teen saw Spencer as the enemy; thus Melissa could have been prompted to help out there as well. However given her equal brilliance, the older woman just couldn't be trusted and it was just too risky to even try. Lucas wanted it to be just the two of them so that nothing would go wrong and his reasons were understandable; thus why Jenna Marshall was out even though she could have brought a few allies to the mix. There was the factor of Melissa's moral compass that was too much of a wild card.

Thus their entire plan now had to change for it to work.

Ever since Spencer had contacted Mona last night with the news, she had been spending every waking moment on how their plan could be salvaged. They had been talking about it constantly at school today on possible ways to still implement it; not wanting to call it off since too much time had been put into it already. When they were not together at school, they texted one another using their A Phones; not wanting to risk someone overhearing them at their respective homes and finding out what they were up to. It was only about two hours ago after Mona had dropped Spencer off at home that she had come up with a possible idea though to say it was a long shot was another understatement. It was a bit rushed but the shorter teen had managed to put the device together and had it in the trunk of her car; though she hoped that it would work since it was a first for her. While the device still needed to be planted at the appropriate place, Mona was confident that she could at least pull away from Spencer to do it quickly without arousing suspicion from anyone.

Presently, the teen was dressed in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt white wearing a pair of sandals on her feet. Since things had changed, it was decided by the two of them that they would both get ready at the Hasting's residence; then everyone would go to the dance in two cars. Since they had their own vehicle, Melissa and Wren would simply follow the girls when they left; meeting up with them at the school in the front of the gymnasium. Next to her on the passenger side was her, undergarments, some makeup, and her shoes. The dress she had bought was laid out on the backseat so that it wouldn't get wrinkled; also covered with plastic so that it wouldn't get dirty as well. It was still another two hours until the dance which left plenty of time for her and Spencer to get ready; as well as have a light snack. Both planned to fill up on carbs for the work ahead since it would require a lot of their energy. After everything was resolved, if everything went right, the two teens would probably binge to celebrate. They had also arranged to spend the weekend in Ravenswood in a couple of weeks as well; taking some time to R&R.

As she drove, Mona passed a few of her peers heading to the school early; whether to hang out or to set up. Like all the dances at Rosewood High, there were quite a few student volunteers who needed the credits or something to put on their college applications; though Mona never felt like she needed to do it herself. There were also a number of cops out and while they did their best to blend in with the parked cars, the teen spotted them right away. Spencer had told her about the surveillance that Wilden had placed on the DiLaurentis residence and Mona had found no mention of it in the police database; which told her that this little op of his was off the books for some reason though she suspected it was because Jessica had people inside the department as well. The teen had no doubt that the higher ups knew what the Detective was up to but were letting the man run it on the chance that he had real evidence against the family; which he probably did if he found what the two teens had planted. Seeing a space clear right in front of the Hastings house, Mona parked her car and got out; grabbing her stuff as well.

"Knock knock," Mona called out as she simply walked inside the front door. She was greeted by the sight of Wren sitting on the couch in a tuxedo; watching some sort of BBC program on the television.

"Good Evening Mona; Spencer is upstairs," stated the older man and Mona smiled in thanks before rushing upstairs. Knocking on Spencer's door using her secret signal, her friend rushed her inside and was dressed only in her white undergarments.

"Are you sure this is going to work? I kind of thinking that we may need to postpone this for more favorable conditions," Spencer stated as she locked the door behind her and then sat down on the bed. Her hair looked damp and her dress was still hanging up in front of the closet; appearing to be freshly ironed.

"There won't be another favorable condition and it has to be tonight; fortune favors the bold and tonight we have to be bold," pressed the other teen as she placed her things on the vanity and hung her dress next to Spencer's. Mona then sat down beside her friend and gave the teen a reassuring hug.

Mona then noticed her friend's lack of clothing and smirked mischievously; tracing her index finger along Spencer's backside. The taller teen seemed to get the hint and her own hand went to Mona's thigh; rubbing it along the side while blushing. Mona herself was about to move her hand to a more intimate part of Spencer's body when a loud thud could be heard from outside the room which caused both teens to jump up suddenly. It was then that Peter could be heard outside the room cursing the picture that just fell in the hallway as he came out of his bedroom; having changed from his work clothes. Both Spencer and Mona looked at one another in amusement and struggled to keep from laughing out loud. Though they did feel slightly embarrassed by the whole incident, it still sliced through the tension that they were feeling in their bodies for the coming operation. They embraced once again before going over to get ready for the dance; with Spencer slipping on her hanging dress and then sitting at her vanity.

"I think the Ravenswood trip is what we really need; I think it's been a while since we have done anything without the A Game looming over our heads," Spencer stated as she watched Mona slip out of her temporary clothing and was now completely naked. The teen couldn't help but stare at her girlfriend and a slight blush appeared on her cheeks.

"I agree; we do need this and it will be nice to get away from all the craziness which is going to happen here soon if everything goes according to plan tonight," commented the other teen as she slipped on a matching pair of red bra and panties. Besides the more intimate appeal of the attire, she felt that it would go great with the dress.

"I don't think I could imagine a world without Alison in it; almost if it were simply an unrealistic dream," the taller teen said very quietly; almost in a whisper. While she was pretty sure no one could hear her conversation outside her door, she still felt that caution was needed.

"I didn't either and there was a time where I wanted to simply run away from Rosewood; never to return. I am happy that we are going to do what we will do tonight and that the world will be a better place because of it," Mona said with a sense of conviction in her voice as she then slipped on her dress; turning her back to Spencer as she used the mirror to adjust it. Like the other teen, she was keeping her voice low out of caution as well.

"Well I am happy that this will finally end tonight; seeing that bitch gone and her reputation forever tarnished will almost make what we went through worth it," Spencer told her friend as she stood up and wrapped her arms around Mona to adjust the chest area of the dress. She then smirked when redness appeared on the shorter teen's cheeks.

"You're right; but I think the silver lining is that we are geniuses who got away with it. Also that we had help from Alison herself," stated the other teen as she checked herself out in the mirror; loving how the dress fit on her body. She then guided Spencer over to the vanity so that she could brush her hair before helping with the makeup.

"True; though we should not get overconfident until the night is over," cautioned the other teen as her friend began straightening her hair. Instead of wrapping it in a bun, Spencer was going to wear it long tonight on the advice of her girlfriend.

"Yes, I suppose that is my biggest weakness overall. Well we will just have to wait and see though I expect everything will go right for us," Mona put forth; though there was still some doubt in her own mind. This was an incredibly risky move even before the road bump that was Melissa Hastings.

Their conversation moved to other things as the two teens did each other's hair and makeup; making sure to keep track of the time. According to Spencer, it was completely empty next door and that Alison had not even been home today; the posse gathering at Aria's house before heading to the dance themselves. That was a little unusual given that at every dance in the past, the blonde had made it mandatory for all the girls to meet up at Alison's house; which had happened the last time. From their texts, it seemed that it was Hanna who suggested the idea because it made it easier for everyone to meet up this time; especially since Alison's parents were at the Club attending some sort of event. That was happening a lot lately, the girls hanging out at places other than Alison's, and Mona suspected that the reason was that the girls wanted to be on stronger turf against their leader. It also seemed that Alison and the girls did not suspect that something was going to happen tonight though they were still on guard.

"Well I think it's time we went downstairs and showed your parents how you should really go to dances," Mona suggested as she put the finishing touches on her friend's makeup. The shorter teen had gone first and then did Spencer's after; dressing up the teen as if she were her own personal project.

"Wow; you look amazing," Wren told Spencer and Mona in awe as the two walked down the stairs. Melissa looked over and gave her husband a glare though she had to admit that he was right.

"I think we should take a picture," Peter suggested as he entered the room with his wife closely behind. Spencer gave her father a flopped smile and just shook her head at that while Mona just laughed to herself.

"This is just another dance I am going to dad; there is nothing special about this at all," Spencer told the older man as she grabbed her purse from the small counter next to the door. She just had the basic essentials inside with Mona having all of their A gear inside her car in a secret compartment just in case it was searched; which was highly unlikely.

"Are you all leaving now? It is still pretty early," Veronica said as she looked over at the clock and noticed that it was still another forty minutes before the dance officially started. It was only about a fifteen minute drive to the dance so they still had time.

"I think we should probably leave now so that we can get there early; parking is going to be a nightmare and my pass won't get me a good spot tonight," advised Mona as answered the older woman. It was a good excuse since the real reason why they needed to leave early was because she still needed to plant the device.

"That sounds like a good idea to me; I got a spot where the teacher's park but that doesn't guarantee a good spot as well," informed Melissa as she agreed with Mona; for once. Truthfully, she wanted to get there early since she wanted to introduce Wren to a few of her old teachers at the highschool.

Melissa was wearing a more fashionable and expensive dress than her sister; which Spencer really should not have been surprised about. It was long and a bright green that almost went to her feet; a little longer and she would have been forced to hold it up as she walked. Unlike the slight exposed chest area of her younger sister, Melissa's was completely covered like Mona's with a little bit of a bump; though not as noticeable as the younger teen. The older sister was wearing a pair of dark-colored heels to go with it and Spencer recognized them from a magazine she had seen a little while ago; knowing full well that they had been quite pricy. The teen often wondered if her sister bought her own stuff like that or gave Wren a list to make her happy; probably both. The older sister had her hair in a slight bun and had earrings on that that were silver in color with emeralds; a gift from Wren from their wedding. While Melissa's makeup was lightly put on compared to most other events she went to, it still marveled compared to her younger sisters; though Spencer felt that Mona looked better.

"Well you all have fun tonight and remember to be home by midnight," Veronica ordered though politely. While it wasn't a school night, she still wanted both her daughters' home safely given what had happened last time.

"We will; we'll meet you guys there," Spencer told her sister as Mona led the teen to the door and opened it up. Melissa nodded and the teens went out into the darkened sky since the sun had just set a few minutes before.

"I think you looked way mare amazing than my sister by the way," Spencer told her girlfriend as they entered Mona's vehicle and tossed her purse onto the back seat. There was no traffic on the street and it was eerily quiet at the DiLaurentis house.

"Thank you; I will pay you back for the comment later," Mona said with a smirk and a slight blush appeared on Spencer's cheeks. The shorter teen then started the car and pulled out onto the street to head to the school.

As expected, traffic started to get busier as they approached Rosewood High; with a small line of cars waiting to get into the parking lot. From the rearview mirror, Mona could see that Melissa was two vehicles behind them and once they both entered the parking lot, they went to their respective places. Unlike most times though, Mona drove to a more secluded spot in the middle of the lot; which was closer to a few of the locked up fuse boxes that were connected to the school. There were very few cars around and pairs of teens in dance attire were making their way to the side entrance on the far side from where they were; not even noticing Mona nor Spencer which was a plus. They didn't spot any of the posse's vehicles so it looked like they had not yet arrived; though Mona and Spencer did not yet know who the driver was tonight if they were all arriving in the same car. This meant that the pair would be better prepared for them once they did arrive so that the plan could be set in motion.

Once they were parked each teen got out and grabbed their purses from the backseat; though they left their other gear in the truck for later. Mona had scouted this area earlier and it was strategically well placed; with enough darkness to move Alison as well as close enough to a few of the locked entrances to the school. Both teens had brought every key they had for tonight and had them hidden in another secret compartment in their purses; each allowing total access to every part of the school. Mona planned to place her little device at some point and would grab the rest of their stuff after it had gone off; hiding it in a secure part of the school. After making sure the car was secure with the car alarm she had installed not too long ago, Mona went over to her girlfriend and reached her arm out to the taller teen with a smile. Smiling back, Spencer accepted the arm and clasped it into her own; then heading across the parking lot and not caring if it made them look like a couple.

It had begun.
