Disclaimer: Still don't own it

Their appearance was not noticed at all.

Even when entering the school hallway with their arms locked with one another, Mona and Spencer was not given a second glance.

Granted that everyone was still engulfed in their own thing to really be paying attention to the two teen girls; which was fine by them. If it were all possible, the two teen girls would prefer to be invisible tonight since it would allow them to do what needed to be done. They fully knew however that would not be the case so they instead put on their masks. As they walked down the hall toward the auditorium, they were a few of their fellow students putting up banners and there were tables for those who still needed to vote on the best dressed as well as for other prizes. It was tempting to cast their own votes since they had yet to, but neither bothered since in the end there was really no point. It was well known that when it came to voting in these things, they were always rigged in favor for the more popular kids in class. So in the end there was really no point in voting for something that was already decided.

Both Mona and Spencer decided to wait just outside the double doors in order to wait for her sis and her husband. As they waited, they had unlocked their arms and leaned against the wall; staying close to one another as they observed everything that was going on around them. Every few seconds a couple would walk past them to enter the large room, completely ignoring the two teens. Since this dance was aimed at all the grades, there were various age groups attending so it was natural that there were more than a few people that the two did not recognize. Almost all the men were dressed in some sort of tuxedo-type garb that was always black; though you had a few who tried to be funny by dressing in blue or some sort of bright color. As for the women, it was always something more conservative since the school did have a slight dress code in place for how revealing the attire could be. So far, the only dress that they had seen that pushed the limit was from an upper classman blonde who definitely not wearing a bra since her entire backside was showing; the entire dress was also glittering and shiny as if she was wearing shingles.

Noel Khan appeared suddenly with a group that was in his immediate circle. Hanging off his arm was a busty red-head in a short green dress that just happened to be a member of the cheerleading squad; which wasn't a surprise since it was now a cheerleader every couple of weeks since his big breakup with Alison DiLaurentis. There was still whispering on why the couple broke up with very few knowing the entire truth; Spencer and Mona being included. It was rumored that Noel dumped Alison in front of a large group of their peers; though no one was really talking since they were just too scared to speak. While Noel wasn't one to threaten people into silence unless he was really desperate, Alison was and she still wielded much power in the school; though Noel still had more friends than herself. Dressed in a black tuxedo like the rest of the males in the group, he locked eyes with the two teens and was obviously surprised to see them attending the dance. He was almost about to stop and say something when a dark look appeared on Mona's face; one which told him to keep walking so he did and entered the auditorium after his group checked themselves in.

After a minute or two, Melissa and Wren appeared.

"You guys didn't have to wait for us; you could have just gone in," Melissa told the pair as they just stood there in the hallway. More and more people were starting to arrive though there was still no appearance by any member of the posse.

"I wanted to make sure that you didn't lose sight of me since you are my babysitter tonight," responded Spencer though it not in a resentful way. Her tone was more as if it were a fact than anything else; though Melissa still seemed put off by the comment.

"Mom and Dad are just concerned after what had happened last time. We just want to make sure you and Mona stay safe tonight as well as have fun," Melissa chided in a sisterly way; also not hateful. Mona's eyes widened how the older sister seemed to include her in that statement though she did not say anything.

"Nothing is going to happen; unlike last time, I am ready for whatever tricks Alison tries to initiate against me," the teen told her sister while they slowly made their way to the check-in table outside the double doors. After their names were crossed off, they were given some raffle tickets and headed inside.

"Well I am just here as backup; one can never know when it comes to highschool," stated Melissa as she spotted some of her old teachers. Without another word, she grabbed Wren by the arm and headed towards them while still keeping an eye on her sister.

The room itself was darkened though one could see clearly if you had to find someone. No one was yet dance though there was some background music going on through the speakers. There were various banners on the walls and the stage was still being set up with the school having hired an outside band to play. Most of the teens inside were separated into groups though there were a few lonely stragglers; mostly located near where the refreshments were. Deciding that they needed to get something to drink and the fact that they had time to kill, Spencer and Mona made their way to the punch bowel; pouring themselves some and then watching the scene before them. One familiar face was Ezra Fitz who was back teaching after what had happened; standing near Principal Hackett dressed in a suit and holding himself up with a cane. The young man looked better despite the wound he had suffered and it was nice to see him back teaching though they didn't have any classes with him.

"If Jenna and Shauna show up, I would be very curious to see how they react to Mr. Fitz," Mona told her friend as she sipped her drink. From what she understood, neither the blind teen nor her girlfriend had any classes with the man.

"I think the entire night is going to be interesting. Speaking of, I am going to head back to the car to get the device and install it; be back in a bit," Mona informed as she stepped away from her friend after tossing her cup in the trash. Spencer nodded her head and stood their alone; hoping that Mona would get back soon with no issues.

As she hovered there next to the refreshment table, Spencer watched as a few more familiar faces entered the auditorium. She was surprised to see that Cindy and Mindy were among them as well as the fact that they were both wearing contacts instead of their glasses; also the fact that someone dressed them up for the dance. Both were in purple dresses that went to their feet and it was a little off character of them to be showing their backsides as well as a little risky as well. If it weren't for the fact that they held a long enmity against the blonde for her excessive teasing of them over the years, Spencer might be tempted to think Alison's hand was behind this. She had heard that the blonde was reaching out to other people to join her group given the recent schism with her other friends; but so far no names had appeared to take her up on the offer. There was a chance that Noel was secretly working against Alison by warning off people but Spencer couldn't be sure. The twins were alone of course without dates but they did go over and joined a small group made up of the bottom elements of the social hierarchy of the school.

From her vantage point, she saw that Melissa was having the time of her life in showing off Wren to her former teachers. It always amazed the teen how her older sister took over whatever event she had been forced to attend and turn it around to benefit herself; something that Spencer never managed to learn. She had often joked to herself that if she ever got married, that Melissa would somehow make herself shine more than Spencer as the bride. The one bright spot was that her rivalry with her sister was no longer vicious and that she could now probably get along with the older woman. It also seemed that Melissa did really care about her; though Spencer could not be totally sure. While watching, Spencer was starting to feel sorry for Wren since it was more than apparent that he didn't want to be here in the first place from the look on his face; as if he were miserable and wanted to be somewhere else. Normally she would have felt guilty about that but it wasn't her decision that led to Melissa being here to chaperone her and Mona. She was still annoyed that Melissa being here was putting their plan into jepordy.

"Where did Mona go?" Melissa asked as she rejoined here sister after a few more minutes of showing Wren off. The male doctor was wishing he hadn't quit smoking since he could really use one about now.

"Back to her car; she had forgotten something," Spencer answered her sister with a shrug. The older sister simply nodded and the teen hoped her friend would be back soon since she could only cover her for so long.

Wren was about to say something when he was interrupted by some fresh arrivals caused a slight silence in the room. Alison walked in with the posse in tow though they did not look happy from her backside; Spencer noted the blonde was trying to portray a sense of power in comparison though it was definitely a mask. The blonde was wearing a very stylish and expensive gold-colored dress that was more than adamant in showing her cleavage; as well as exposing her backside almost too low. Her heels were also pricy as Spencer recognized the pair she had seen in a catalogue in Mona's room; that cost as much as a three-night stay at a five-star hotel. She had come alone of course and that in itself was not unusual since there were many dances from the past that the blonde did not have dates for; sometimes on purpose. After it looked like she was surveying the crowd, Alison led her little group to her usual spot in the room.

Unlike last time, there were some differences which might explain why Alison was keeping a fake look of empowerment; and that was not just because of A. Hanging on Hanna's arm, who was wearing a sheer-cut white dress that also exposed some cleavage, was Caleb who was dressed in a blue tux that only Hanna would have picked out. Emily was in a long blue dress that matched Hanna's and the fact that she was on the other side of Hanna instead of by Alison's side was something to make note of. Aria by contrast was in a black dress that went to her knees and was puffy at the bottom; also wearing flat shoes to boot. Like Emily, she didn't have a date though both Spencer and Mona could see the longing looks that the teen was sharing with Ezra; although brief not to arouse suspicion. Coming behind the group was surprisingly Paige who was dressed in a white tuxedo than a dress. From the closeness, it was almost as if she had arrived with the group; though Alison would never have allowed that in the slightest.

"She always has to make an entrance doesn't she?" Melissa asked in an almost mocking tone of voice. The way she was looking at the blonde was out of pure disgust and hatred that even Wren was somewhat put off by it.

"Of course she does; the entire family has to," Mona remarked as she rejoined the group after coming from the side entrance. It was normally locked but Mona had her keys with her so that wasn't a problem; as well as the cameras which had been disabled by her for the evening.

"Well you both need to stay away from her; the last thing we need right now is an incident that Alison can use or something that gets in the news," Melissa practically ordered with a very authoritative tone of voice. There were very few times that her sister used that voice and Spencer always found herself obeying; even when she didn't want to.

"We have no intention of going anywhere near Alison tonight; me and Spencer are just here to have fun," lied the shorter teen as she just smiled at the older sister. Even though Melissa narrowed her eyes at Mona, she seemed to believe her and let the matter drop.

The group hovered there for a few more minutes until Princapal Hackett appeared on stage to welcome everyone to the dance. By then, mostly everyone who was coming had arrived and the auditorium was pretty full; though there was still a great deal of room to dance. Once he offered some words as well as some threats on what would happen to those who disrupted the event, he turned the microphone over to Ezra; who sheepishly thanked everyone for their support. It seemed that he had gotten an outpouring of support of his students, spearheaded by Aria, through cards and flowers. To her credit, it seemed that Shauna did look a bit guilty since it was she that shot him the first place, though only a few truly knew, and Mona had heard on the grapevine that both she and Jenna had visited Ezra at the hospital. It would be interesting what would happen if Mr. Fitz ever found out about what Shauna had done; which would be entertaining to be sure. As soon as Ezra was done speaking, he turned the microphone back to Hackett; who then introduced the band. They then started playing and various couples made their way to the dance floor with the lights slightly dimming.

"We're going to go dance," Melissa told the two teens as she forcibly pulled Wren to the dance floor. The young man barely had time to finish his punch and had to hand it to Spencer to toss in the trash.

As the dance floor began to fill fast, Mona decided to take the initiative and extended her hand to Spencer. Understanding what her friend was offer, the teen took the other's hand and they walked into the crowd though staying on the edge. The music currently playing was an upbeat jive so everyone who was dancing was not too close to one another. This seemed to allow the two teens to dance together without revealing the newfound change in their relationship; which was only going to be revealed until after. Even though they were enjoying themselves, the two were still paying very close to what was going on around them; especially with what was going on with the posse. It seemed that Alison was somewhat alone with the others taking to the dance floor with their significant others; Aria dance with Ezra under the illusion that it was just for fun while Hanna was with Caleb. Emily had originally vanished from their view and it wasn't in sight until Mona caught her dancing with Paige in a darken corner of the room; well out of sight from Alison if she didn't already suspect.

"It seems that the queen is now alone," Mona stated with a smirk as she leaned in close to her friend. They were still a bit a ways from the closest couple so there wasn't a risk for anyone to hear them; especially with the volume of the music playing.

"She should be getting out first text here in a minute. I bet you she starts looking around the second she sees it," Spencer commented with a smirk of her own. The taller teen looked up at the clock and saw that it was nearly time for their grand plan to begin.

"Suckers bet but I hear you. I am surprised that Emily is being this forward with Paige in front of Alison. If this wasn't the bitch's last night on Earth, it would be entertaining to watch in the next few weeks," Mona observed as she watched the secret couple enjoy themselves together. The teen was ecstatic that her little scheme to use Paige had come to full fruition after only a short time.

"Speaking of which; Alison's phone just beeped," Spencer told her friend and Mona made a quick glance at the blonde through the row of other teens. Both moved to cover as the blonde suddenly looked up and looked alarmingly around her to see who was spying.

"Right on schedule; now she will act all paranoid which in turn will make her friends paranoid. I am hoping that Hanna is smart enough to take the opportunity we are going to give her to go through her little plan," stated the shorter teen as she watched Alison move closer to the corner in a weak attempt to stay hidden. Spencer was about to make a comment when a group of new arrivals caught both she and Mona by surprise.

It was Detective Wilden and he was flanked by a few officers.
