It was 8pm and Kyle's body was still aching from the first training session he had with his new teammates which hadn't gone particularly well. James had worked them all very hard, even shown them new moves (clearly he didn't show them himself, he had more respect than that and wasn't the physical type of man. He just shoved a martial arts DVD on). Everyone found that unfair as why did they have to work when he just stood there? Also, they were confiscated of their lunch if they didn't perfect a move which caused Drake much distress as he loved his food and even threatened James with the power of the tyrannosaurs.
Kyle flopped onto the couch and flicked through the TV channels like he did this morning. It was amazing how rubbish TV was in the morning and evening. Surely the evening was the perfect time for TV gold? Kyle was about to consider whether to give up watching TV all together and read a book (one of Faetal's many joys) when the doorbell rang.
This time Kyle got up and went to answer it as it was only fair and technically his turn in the made up, unspoken door opening rota he and James had created. When he eventually got to the castle door and opened it despite the many locks that had been screwed on, he discovered that his friends were all standing outside. They all had overnight bags with them along with sleeping bags and carrier bags. They must have seen the confused look on Kyle's face so Amy volunteered to explain.
"It's called a sleepover. We think that we should all have one after our first fight together."
"A sleepover?" Kyle questioned, "Are you sure you want one here? It's a pretty boring castle."
"Typical Kyle." Drake commented as if he had known Kyle for longer than two weeks, "Always turning down fun. Do you even know what fun is?"
"Excuse me?" Kyle replied insulted, "I know fun; I lived with the definition of fun and let me tell you, I was involved in every part of it."
"Well then, we can come in." Zoey said pushing past Josh and walking into the castle, "We've all already eaten; we found it a bit unfair on that fact that you would have to feed us twice otherwise."
"You guys really want to have a sleepover?" Kyle asked.
His four eager friends nodded. So Kyle opened the door wider allowing them to all run in and literally throw their bags across the floor.
~Ooooo~
"Those Jr defenders are going to get what's coming to them." An angry voice muttered in the woods of Handsomeville, "They will regret the day they messed with me."
Harvey slowly swayed through the forest, clutching his right shoulder as he did. His clothes were torn and his could feel a warm, red liquid run down his face from the top of his head. How dare the Jr defenders destroy the lab while he was trying to get out? Who on earth did they think they were?
Before Harvey could muttered another word against them he had the reached the only safe and open part of the forest for miles. He slumped down in a sulk. He had heard of this forest in tales and stories that left only from the mouths of the defenders. It had heard of Ivar and his rivalry against the magnificent Gildar. He had heard of the evil and twisted Neri and her hatred from her youngest grandson.
Once the defenders (both senior and junior) had found out his evil ways, back when the Lionheart force was the only threat to his existence, he sought out Ivar and Neri, not for one second believing they were dead. He believed that people with great power and whose souls had been wrapped in revenge couldn't possible come to an end due to a cliff.
Luckily for him, he was right, Ivar and Neri weren't dead but they weren't far from it. They had been living in this forest, the only place where they could call home. No one dared adventured here especially the defenders. The Jr ones may be naïve enough too but that will be another day. Ivar and Neri were alone in the heart of this forest. They had spent 22 years scheming and perfecting their every move.
Of course in those 22 years, Neri had become old and weak. The only thing keeping her alive was the thought that one day she will rise again. The pair knew only too well that their hiding had kept them isolated from the ever changing world. They didn't even know that a girl had been born into the Graphum family until Harvey had spoken of her. He smiled. Harvey had never seen such shock in his life and he was there to witness the fury of hatred running through Neri's eyes.
"You're late." A voice from behind him spoke slightly annoyed.
"I believe that you are. I was here first." Harvey replied sharply before regretting his words and only a second later he could feel their presence come close to him.
"Remind me why I haven't disposed of you yet?"
"You need me. I'm your only link to the outside world and the Splatalot castle."
Ivar walked over to the opposing log and looked deep into Harvey's eyes. His midnight hair hadn't been cut in 22 years; leaves were tangling in it from where he had forced his way through bushes. His face had become pale and grey. He was nothing like the young, smart gentlemen Harvey had seen in only a few selected photos.
"So how are we going to destroy the Jr defenders?" Harvey asked.
"There is no need." Ivar replied, "The four you had come across in your past have long gone. Trapped in the lab, I presume. Only stories remain of them."
"So we only have one to deal with. The yellow one I presume?" Harvey said.
"No exactly, it seems that he had recruited more teenagers to take their places but the new team are nothing but five young teenagers who aren't even in high school yet!" Ivar exclaimed, "Our job has been simplified."
Harvey smiled. He could pick them off one by one without any of the dino defenders realising it. He got up and made his way to the make shift hammock tied between two trees. He skilfully jumped on and looked up into the open space between the trees. The sun was setting and some of the stars were shining brightly. Tomorrow was going to be a great day.
