As the eldest son of the chieftain he was tasked with protecting the village & his younger siblings Sokka & Katara. After their mother's death too much changed. To keep his remaining family safe he had to close off his heart and train relentlessly. The Avatar wasn't coming back. Or at least, that's what Ayaan thought, until a bald kid with blue arrows showed up.

Fire Lord Azulon once was told that bringing together the bloodlines of Avatar Roku and Fire Lord Sozin would create great firebenders for generations to come.
