"Are there any known hide outs where Harvey himself would specifically go?" James asked in the control room. The computer was on scan mode despite it being completely useless as it could only search within Pearl Canyon. James and the Defenders were standing around the desk in the room looking down at a map of Canada, the forest and Pearl Canyon was circled in red.
"Negative." Kyle replied looking up at James, "Even if we did, there is no guarantee that he would go there. Astrid had a whole space palace which I, along with the Jr defenders had no idea about. However, the most likely suspect is the forest as Harvey is clearly Ivar's work man so it is most likely that he would take them there."
"Negative." James replied in response to Kyle's synopsis, "Alwin, Banan and Astrid all worked for Ivar as well and you all fought them instead of Ivar, going by probability I'll say that you're going to fight Harvey as well."
"Go right back at you with negative again." Kyle said as Zoey and Josh watched, with slight amusement, at the debate unfolding. There was no point having any input as they had no information on Ivar's past employees, "Alwin, Banan and Astrid were all useful and could put up a challenging fight. All Harvey's done is send robosaurs and threaten me. Also this is try number three for Ivar. I'm betting that this time he would want this done properly."
"Agreed but Ivar doesn't like getting his hands dirty or putting himself at risk." James replied. This debate was going nowhere and he knew it, "I would wait for Harvey to attack again because it's most likely if you go to the forest it'll be a trap."
"I agree with that statement." Josh piped in, despite only being in the forest twice, once in 2009 and once when he was brain washed, he saw how complex it looked. If Ivar had been spending over twenty years there then he would be very familiar with the forest.
Kyle and James glanced at Josh and considered his input while Zoey just looked confused at Josh. She had no how Josh knew about this mystery forest, she could hardly remember it! However, she did agree with Josh and James, going into the forest would be a trap.
"I'm not saying the forest isn't going to be a trap. I'm saying that it's the only place where they would be some clues about where Amy and Drake are. If we're lucky, they might even be there."
"But that's the trap!" James argued back. They were going around in circles now and frankly James had forgotten what had been said and what hadn't. Everyone was tired out from the battle. Both Zoey and Josh had slight bags underneath their eyes and Kyle's were even bigger and darker than before due to only sleeping 14 hours in a week, if his sleeping habits continued then James was certain that the pair would be paying a visit to the doctors.
"I'm really confused!" Zoey exclaimed tiredly. She yawned slightly before glancing back up at Kyle and James.
"We're going to the forest!" Kyle told her in an ordering tone.
"No, you're not!" James replied also with an ordering tone, "You're not thinking straight! As, I think we can all recall you had an absolute break down yesterday!"
"That's low! Even for you!" Kyle shouted back with his voice getting louder with each word, "Anyway, you're the one who said everything will be alright and you're the one who made me leader of the team and my decision is that we go to the forest!"
"Both of you shush!" Josh shouted about Kyle and James. He was fed up with the shouting and arguing over the last few days and it wasn't even helping the situation. Josh then thought of a calmer argument which might, "What would Annaka and Danny do if Zsa-Zsa and Jack were captured?"
Josh watched as Kyle diverted his gaze to James. It was the obvious the pair both knew the answer straight away and that Kyle wanted James to admit that he was wrong so the mentor quietly muttered, "They would go head on into the forest with their main focus being on getting their team mates back."
"So I guess we're going to the forest then." Zoey muttered under her breath.
~Ooooo~
"You can't tie me up! I'm the king of the dinosaurs!"
"Drake! That didn't work the first time or the second so it definitely won't work the third time!" Amy exclaimed, "Also they all know who you are hence why we are here! I can't believe one of Harvey's plans actually worked."
"Yep, he had it all figured out on that white board of his." Drake commented peering over to the white board itself and examining the two words- red and blue, circled, "I mean look at that detail!"
Amy smirked, although she really shouldn't have been as Harvey's plan did work. She clocked the look on Ivar's face when he teleported back with them. He too was as surprised as she and Drake were at his success. His eyes widened at the sight of them, his mouth opened and shut like a fish, he was clearly trying to save something but the shock was getting in the way. Harvey Lewis had gone from a weak feeble man who would only send robosaurs out to a stronger, corrupt man and not to forget, that before all of this he was just some random man pulled of the street and ordered to look after a bunch of defenders.
Harvey smiled. He had patiently waited for this day. Yes, they weren't real defenders- his recent goal was to capture the Jr defenders but still these two were defenders. He remembered his days at the castle where he would watch all the original defenders laugh and mess about with not a care in the world. Then they had children. Oh how much they annoyed him! They were treated with much more respect than he ever was and he was a grown man!
Harvey watched as Skabb showed Jack one of his many clubs. The three year old boy watched in awe and his father demonstrated how to work it. His eyes were glued to the club and he gasped as his father bent down and handed it to him. Harvey smirked as Jack nearly dropped it due to it being exceedingly heavy to hold but the smirk disappeared as soon as he saw Jack smash the club against the floor.
Harvey watched the pair for a few more minutes and witnessed how similar they were. No one would mess with Jack Tonelli! He was pulled away from his thoughts as Skabb walked over to him and asked if he wouldn't mind watching his precious son.
"Of course not!" Harvey said plastering on a fake smile, "I can't think of anything better to do!"
He walked over to the young boy, who was still practicing with the club. He glanced up as he saw Harvey walk closer.
"Hewo Harvey!" The young boy exclaimed, "Daddy gawe me a club!"
"How fascinating." Harvey replied with a dull tone. Seeing how this conversation wasn't going to get any more interesting, he pulled out his phone and starting texting.
"Daddy said I'll be a gweat defender when I gow up! He said that I will be vewy stong"
"Really."
"Yeah, Zsa-Zsa will be a defender when she gow up too and so will Danny and the baby. We'll all be defenders and stop the bad guys."
"Wonderful. I bet they can't wait."
"Also Charwles said that we're vewy special and should be treated with love and care."
Harvey rolled his eyes while still looking at his phone. These kids were going to be brought up spoilt and rotten!
And he was right! Those Jr defenders were spoilt! They lived in a castle! Had special powers! Had defender outfits which were very powerful themselves… when he was a child all he had was a small house in the suburbs of Toronto and hardly any money!
Harvey looked at his watch, it had only been twenty minutes since he kidnapped them so depending on their mode of transport, the remaining defenders should be arriving at the forest pretty soon then he could trap them all and hold them at ransom. The defenders will obviously oblige as one of them was one of their offspring. Also they wouldn't let the other four get hurt because of their doing so his once group of defenders would happily pay the ransom for them as well then he will own the Splatalot Castle and have every jewel he could imagine.
"Hey Harvey!"
Harvey spun around and looked at the red defender smirking his face off, "I wouldn't get too far ahead of I were you! The defenders won't let you have the kingdom of Splatalot that easily!"
Did he say that last bit out loud? Oh well, it didn't matter! With Ivar and Neri at his side, he would definitely win.
~Ooooo~
"I think you should use Dino speed." James exclaimed to Kyle. Once again the pair was disagreeing, this time it was how to get to the forest.
"And I think that 120 miles is too long for dino speed and we'll tire ourselves out!" Kyle argued back, "Jack built the teleport function himself, we used to get here from when we were in Switzerland. It's perfectly safe!"
"It's not the machinery I doubt. It's them!" James replied back looking over to a very offended Zoey and Josh, "They've never teleported before!"
"Neither had we!" Kyle argued back, he was winning this argument and knew it, "Just let us use it this once."
James gave a sigh of defeat and Kyle turned back to his two remaining team mates. He gave them two communicator watches. The pair happily accepted but did notice the Overdrive logo, on the back of them. Clearly, these watches were spare ones for their predecessor as they were red and green.
"Right, all you have to do is think of the forest and me all while pressing this button." Kyle instructed pointing to the second button on the old communicator. They never used them anymore since the wrist devices had them built in so over time, the Jr defenders wouldn't wear them, "On the count of three. One…two…three…"
Kyle, Zoey and Josh all pressed the second button while thinking of the forest, and in the pink and green defenders case, Kyle as well just to make sure they end up at the right forest. James watched as three brightly coloured flashes covered the room. He immediately shut his eyes, as he found that having eye sight is very useful, and a second later reopened them to find that the remaining defenders had gone.
The teleportation landing was anything but graceful. Somehow all three of them managed to collide head first with the forest floor and slowly and groaning they all stood up but were immediately lifted off the ground.
A huge rope net had them hovering at least 5ft in the air. It was a very old fashioned trap, one that was probably once used to catch wild animals but instead Harvey had used it to capture three defenders, who were all literally very close together…maybe to close. The net swayed with the wind, rocking back and forth gently and Kyle was glad that he didn't have a fear of heights. However the same couldn't be said for, ironically, the pterodactyl defenders. Zoey was breathing deeply and muttering to herself.
Harvey came forward and stood slightly in front of them whilst grinning his face off. He had actually done it! He had accomplished something that Alwin, Banan and Astrid had all failed to do. He had captured all five defenders and nothing was going to stop him from getting what he wanted.
