Daddy Dearest -Chapter 42

~A Teen Wolf fan-fiction collaboration between Miss E Charlotte and Sage Londyn~

Later that afternoon after not seeing Isaac or hearing from him, Teagan left school and made her way toward the cemetery. She figured she would start there first, but after not finding Isaac, she visited her mother's grave for close to an hour then got back into her car and made her way toward Isaac's house.

Even though she had never been to his house before, she knew exactly where it was, right across the street from Jackson's house. She parked her car in the street in front of Isaac's house, then grabbed her book bag from the back seat and made her way to the front door.

She rang the doorbell then folded her arms across her chest as she glanced around the yard and waited for someone to answer. She didn't have to wait long as the door opened and Isaac stood on the other side.

She smiled, happy to see and opened her mouth to say 'hey', but before she could say a word, she saw his eyes go wide as he stepped out on the porch and pulled the door behind him, leaving it open a crack.

"What are you doing here?" Isaac hissed quietly.

"I uh, I was worried about you." Teagan answered, surprised at his reaction. She thought... well hoped he would be happy to see her.

"I also brought the work you missed and was going to offer to help get you caught up." She added, as she patted her book bag that held her books as well as his.

"Thanks, but I'll uh, I'll swing by your house later and we can catch up." Isaac said, wanting to get her out of there before his dad saw her. He wanted to keep her as far away from his home life as possible. But he wasn't fast enough, when he heard his dad's footsteps coming toward the door, followed by him calling out and asking Isaac who was at the door.

"Go. I'll call you later." Isaac said to her quietly. He had one more chance to get her out of there in time, but only if she left now, since his dad was only a few steps away from the door.

"What?" Teagan asked confused.

Isaac closed his eyes with a groan as he opened his mouth to tell her to leave again, but before he could say word, the front door was jerked open as his dad stood before them.

"Well, well, who do we have here?" Mr. Lahey asked, as his eyes roamed over Teagan, making her instantly feel uncomfortable.

"I'm uh, I'm Teagan Young." She said nervously, "I'm a friend of I-Isaac's."

"Wow, color me surprised. I never knew he had friends aside from his imaginary ones online." Mr. Lahey said with a big laugh, as he slapped Isaac on the back, hard.

Teagan cringed at the hard slap on his back and glanced over at Isaac, silently asking him with her eyes if he was ok, but he was too busy looking away, trying to avoid looking at her to notice. He didn't want to see the look in her eyes when she realized how sleazy his dad was and decided to cut him from her life. He wouldn't blame her, but he didn't want to see it happen.

"Well anyone who has to put up with my idiot son at least deserves a nice meal." Mr. Lahey said, then added, "why don't you stay for dinner?"

"Um.. I..." Teagan began to say.

"She can't. She has to go." Isaac said, as he continued to look down.

"Non sense. Come on in." Mr. Lahey said, as he stepped back and gestured for her to come inside the house.

Teagan looked over at Isaac and felt bad for him, no wonder he was always so private about his home life. She was shocked at the way his dad was treating him and was uncomfortable with the way he was looking at her, but she wanted to be there for Isaac. She wanted to show him that no matter what his dad said, she would still be there.

She looked back over at his dad with a polite smile on her face as she said, "I would love to stay for dinner."

Isaac's head shot up at her comment, he couldn't believe she wanted to stay, but as happy as he was to know that she wasn't running away from him, he still didn't want her around his dad. He still wanted to protect her.

Teagan walked past Isaac, reaching out to lightly squeeze his hand as she walked by, then walked into the house. She glanced around the living room as she tried to control her racing heart.

After Isaac and his dad walked into the living room, his dad looked at him and asked, "Wait, is this the Teagan you have been obsessed with for years?"

"What? N-no I wasn't... I'm not obsessed." Isaac stuttered out, as he avoided her eyes again.

"Yes you were." His dad said with a cruel laugh, then he looked over at Teagan as he said, "While most boys were obsessed with celebrities they couldn't have, he was obsessed with you. I told him it would never happen, but he just kept whining in his little journal about how he wished you would notice him. It was pretty pathetic."

"I don't.. I didn't have a journal." Isaac said, as he felt his face heat up.

"Don't lie son. I can go get it right now and show her." His dad said as he shot him a look.

"Dad... please." Isaac said, pleading with him.

Mr. Lahey ignored him as he looked over at Teagan and said, "I think he cried for a month straight after you moved, but boy was he excited when you moved back."

"I'm excited to be back too." Teagan said. She looked over at Isaac to check on him, but saw he was still avoiding looking at her, she turned back to look at his dad as she added, "I'm also excited about getting to know Isaac. He's very sweet."

Mr. Lahey snorted at her comment then said, "Sweet? Isaac what do I always say about being sweet?"

"Being sweet is for the weak." Isaac mumbled what he had heard all his life.

"If you're sweet, people walk all over you, you get taken advantage of. I've been trying to teach him this his whole life." Mr. Lahey said then added; "Now his brother Camden, he knew. He was tough, like his old man and knew what it took to survive in this world."

"But Isaac.." Mr. Lahey begin to say, as he looked over at his son and spat out, "Isaac takes after his weak mother. He'll never make it."

Isaac heard her gasp in surprise as her heart rate increased, but he refused to look over at her. He knew this was it, this was the moment where she began to look at him the way his father did, then she would leave him, like everyone else did, but instead she surprised him when she spoke up.

"With all due respect Mr. Lahey, I don't agree. Your son is an amazing person. He's been a really great friend to me and has helped me on more than one occasion. He's smart, funny, a great athlete and just a great guy all around. I would be lost without him in my life and I believe he has what it takes to do anything he wants."

Mr. Lahey raised his eyebrows in surprise then looked over at Isaac, who had a shocked expression on his face, then said, "Wow son, you need to hold on to this one. She might be nice to look at, but apparently she's not very bright which is perfect for you."

Teagan gasped at his comment and felt her mouth drop open as he turned to walk out of the living room and into the kitchen to start on dinner. She looked over at Isaac, he was looking down at the floor and was breathing heavily. Between his dad embarrassing him, trying to run Teagan off and insulting her, Isaac felt himself losing control but he couldn't shift, not now with his dad and Teagan in the house.

"Isaac?" Teagan asked softly, as she walked over to him.

"Leave. Get out of here." Isaac mumbled, as he kept his head down and took several more deep breaths.

"No, I'm not leaving you Isaac." She said, as she reached out to grab his hand, giving it a squeeze, then added quietly, "I get it, your dad is a dick, but I'm not leaving. Don't you get it, I'm not leaving you Isaac."

Isaac closed his eyes with a groan. He wished she could stay and be there for him, but he needed her out of the house, the sooner the better. Meaning he was going to have to say something he didn't mean, something he knew he would regret later.

"Don't you get it Teagan... I don't want you here. I don't need you here." Isaac said coldly, as he finally raised his head to look at her.

He heard her gasp and could have sworn he heard her heart breaking at his words, he knew his heart was breaking having to say those words to her.

"But.." She tried to argue.

"I said go." Isaac snapped, his eyes accidentally flashing with his words.

"Oh my God." Teagan mumbled when she saw his eyes. She took a quick step back and placed her hands over her mouth in shock.

"No... Isaac... please, no." She mumbled, as tears filled her eyes.

Isaac turned his head, not being able to see the look on her face any longer. His dad might not have ran her away, but knowing he was a werewolf would. He knew this was the moment that he lost her forever.

Teagan bit her bottom lip to hold back a sob as she turned around and ran from the house. She ran down the walkway and made her way toward her car then quickly tried to unlock her car door with tears in her eyes. She had just unlocked the door when she felt someone grab her shoulder, causing her to spin around with a gasp. She breathed a sigh of relief when she saw it was Jackson.

"Teagan?" Jackson asked surprised, then he looked up at the Lahey house, where he just saw her run out of, then looked back at her with an angry expression on his face as he asked, "What the hell did he do?"

"N-nothing. It's nothing, Jackson." Teagan stuttered, not wanting to get him in the middle of it.

"So you always run out of houses crying when it's nothing?" Jackson asked sarcastically.

"Mm-hm, all the time." Teagan joked with a small laugh, as she wiped the tears from her face.

Jackson shot her a look, not believing a word she was saying, then said, "Either you tell me what is going on or I'll beat it out of Lahey."

"Jackson, please, just stay out of it." Teagan begged him, then added, "Nothing happened."

He shook his head as he said, "When it comes to you, I can't stay out of it, you know that so either you tell me or..."

"Ok, ok. I just met his dad and he's kind of a creep." Teagan said, telling him half of the truth.

"He is creepy." Jackson agreed.

"Yeah." Teagan said, then added, "and it just took me by surprise. That's all."

"So everything is good now?" Jackson asked her.

"Mm-hm." She said, then added, "So you don't have to go all attack mode on someone. I'm fine, you don't always have to protect me Jackson."

Jackson shook his head, disagreeing with her as he took a step toward her, causing her to back up into her car. He reached out to push a lock of hair behind her ear before leaning toward her and saying, "I'll always protect you cause that's what you do when you love someone."

He glanced over her shoulder and noticed Isaac looking out the window and watching them. He smirked at Isaac, then placed his lips on her cheek for a quick kiss before whispering in her ear, "and I'll always love you Teagan."

Teagan closed her eyes and bit her bottom lip as he stayed pressed against her for a few more minutes before taking a couple of steps back from her. He looked at her closely and saw the confusing thoughts running through her head, causing him to smirk at her.

He looked back over where Isaac was and noticed he was gone, then he nodded his head at her, telling her 'good-bye' before turning round and walking back toward his house.

She took a deep breath, wondering what the hell just happened, then turned around and looked back at the Lahey house, remembering what she had just seen. Isaac was a werewolf now and she knew exactly who turned him. She felt anger over take her, as she slipped behind the wheel of her car and quickly called Avery as she pulled out into the road.

Avery walked down the stairs into the underground space that Derek had found an old subway car in, her mind was racing.

Hearing footsteps Derek looked up to see her walking down the stairs with her arms crossed over her chest.

"Hey… what are you doing here?" He asked her.

"What are you doing, Derek?" She asked her voice rose as she faced him.

"What are you talking about?" He asked, not sure why she was so mad at him.

"Isaac." Avery said with an arched eyebrow.

Derek sighed as he looked at her and said, "I was going to tell you."

"But you didn't instead I found out from Teagan, who only found out from him because his eyes went yellow." She shot back at him.

"I'm going to help him control it." He assured her.

"I really like Isaac, he's my friend… how could you do this to him? It's not like he's ever done anything to you." Avery snapped.

"Do this to him? I gave him a gift, I explained everything to him and he still wanted the bite." Derek explained to her, his voice rose louder than hers.

"Derek, I love you… and everything about you, including that you're a werewolf and I wouldn't want you to change. But I don't want all my friends being turned into werewolves! What if the Argents find out what he is? Or other hunters? They'll kill him… do you know what that will do to Teagan?" she yelled back.

"Teagan will be fine and so will he." Derek argued.

"Oh really? How?" she asked with an arched eyebrow at his words.

"I'm training Isaac, and until he has everything under control… I'm going to chain him up on full moons. He's part of my pack, I'll watch out for him." Derek said.

"But why Isaac? Why couldn't you turn someone I don't like, someone who's not my friend." She asked rubbing her forehead.

"I helped him. His home life is hell." Derek told her, his jaw tensed in anger at her.

"What are you talking about?" Avery asked, her voice softer than before.

"His dad beats him." He answered.

"Oh my god…" She breathed out, remembering Teagan talking about how terrible Mr. Lahey seemed.

Walking closer to her he said, "I explained everything to him; and he still wanted this."

She nodded, "I'm still not happy about this." She said quietly.

"I know." He said his voice softer than before too.

"You've put Teagan in danger… and I don't just mean of a broken heart." Avery continued to say.

"I'm helping him. I know what I'm doing; I just need you to trust me with this." He said as he took her face in his hands and made her look at him.

"I do trust you…" She said as she reached up and held onto his hands as he kept them on her cheeks.

"It's going to be okay." He tried to reassure her as he leaned down and pressed a kiss to her lips.
