He'll Listen to You -Chapter 43

~A Teen Wolf fan-fiction collaboration between Miss E Charlotte and Sage Londyn~

The next afternoon, Avery and Teagan were walking down the hall together heading for the parking lot to go home for the day. Teagan was still trying to wrap her mind around the fact that Isaac was a werewolf now.

He wasn't the sweet and shy boy she had started to befriend when she moved back to town, no, now he was a monster and part of a pack with other monsters. He was going to have to look over his shoulders from now on, looking out for hunters wanting to kill him while fighting to stay in control so he doesn't kill anyone.

But even after knowing all of that, Teagan still saw him as old Isaac. She still wanted him in her life or at least a part of her did, the other part of her was scared out of her mind. She honestly couldn't see how Avery did this, how was she ok with dating a werewolf.

Speaking of Derek, Teagan looked at Avery as she said, "I still can't believe Derek turned him."

"I know, but at least it was Derek." Avery said, then added, "I mean I wish it hadn't happen either, but Derek said he told him everything and he still wanted it T."

"But why? Why would Isaac choose this?" Teagan asked confused.

"Isaac is the only one who can answer that." Avery said with a shrug, then asked, "speaking of, have you talked to him?"

"You mean since he ran me off from his house yesterday?" Teagan asked, then added with a sigh when she nodded, "No, I haven't. I honestly don't know what to say."

"Do you still like him?" Avery asked.

"Well yeah, but..."

"No buts." Avery said interrupting her then added, "He's still Isaac. The boy who gives you butterflies, the boy who makes your heart race, the boy who gave you the chills when he kissed you. He's still the same Teagan, just stronger but you know he would never hurt you. That boy is too crazy about you to hurt you."

"I guess you're right." Teagan said with a small smile as she thought about all the good moments with Isaac and feeling the familiar fluttering in her stomach.

"Of course I'm right." Avery said then came to a stop when her cell phone began to ring. She pulled the phone out of her purse and lowered her eyebrows in confusion to see that Stiles was calling her, which wasn't unusual, but she knew all the boys were at lacrosse practice right now, so why in the world was he calling her now?

"Shouldn't you be practicing so you can finally get off of the bench?" Avery joked, as she answered the phone.

"Isaac is a werewolf." Stiles breathed out, still freaking out about it since finding out with Scott during practice.

"Uh yeah Stiles, we already knew that." Avery said, then added with a laugh, "How did I become the werewolf expert while you are left in the dark?"

Stiles ignored her question as he said, "Did you also know his dad was killed?"

"What? Since when?" Avery asked, confused. Teagan was just at his house last night, how could so much go wrong in one night.

"Since last night apparently." Stiles answered.

"Oh my God." Avery said, as she looked over at Teagan with wide eyes.

"What? What's wrong? Did something happen to Isaac?" Teagan asked, worried about him.

"Isaac's dad was killed last night." Avery answered.

"What? When? I was just there last night." Teagan said.

"That's what I thought too. You were just there and everything was ok when you left right?" Avery asked her.

"Yeah, I mean his dad was being a jerk but he was alive." Teagan said, then asked, "Is Isaac ok though? I mean nothing happened to him right?"

"Yeah I guess. You should call him, find out what happened." Avery suggested.

"Um, hello, remember me?" Stiles said over the phone, getting her attention.

"Sorry." Avery said to him, then she looked at Teagan as she said again, "call Isaac."

"That's not going to work." Stiles said, hearing what she had said to Teagan.

"Why?" Avery asked confused.

"Cause he's being arrested right now." Stiles said.

"What?" Avery called out, as she reached out to grab Teagan's arm.

"What?" Teagan repeated, confused on what was going on since she didn't hear what Stiles said over the phone.

"You should have really started the conversation with that." Avery said to Stiles.

"I was trying to tell you." Stiles pointed out.

"Ok, well, thanks. I'll call you back." Avery said to Stiles, as she ended the call. She looked over at Teagan then said, "We got to go."

"What is going on A?" Teagan asked.

"They arrested Isaac." Avery said, as she began to run down the hallway, pulling Teagan with her.

The two girls ran outside the building right as Scott ran up and all three watched as the police car pulled away with Isaac in the back. When Isaac heard Teagan's heart racing, he turned his head to look at her, their eyes locking. He wished she didn't have to see him like this, but was secretly glad he got to see her one last time before being locked up for a murder he did not commit.

"What do we do? We got to do something." Avery said, as she looked over at Scott then wrapped an arm around Teagan's shoulders when she heard her sniffle.

"I don't know, but we have to do something." Scott said, then added, "Tonight's a full moon."

"Oh my God." Teagan cried out, then added,"they're going to see him turn and kill him. We have to get him out, now."

"But how?" Avery asked.

Before anyone could say anything else, Derek pulled up in front of them, he ignored the two girls, not wanting to involve them in any of this. Instead he looked at Scott as he said, "get in."

Teagan felt anger over take her when she saw him, she walked over to his car as she called out, "This is your fault Derek."

"I know that." Derek said, as he avoided Avery's eyes, who was standing beside Teagan. He looked down for a moment then looked back to only Teagan as he said, "But I will take care of it. Trust me."

"Trust you?" Teagan asked bitterly, then added, "You're going to get him killed."

"I'm trying to save him." Derek snapped.

Avery wrapped her arms around Teagan then said softly, hoping to calm her down, "It'll be ok T. Derek will save him. He's part of his pack now and he won't let anything happen to him."

Derek nodded his head at her words then added, "but the longer we stay here arguing the more time we waste. We need to get him out before the cops see the house."

"Why? What's in the house?" Scott asked, who had been standing behind the girls listening.

"All the proof a lawyer will need to lock Isaac up. Whatever you all think Isaac has went through, I guarantee the reality is worse." Derek explained then added, "They will have no problem convincing a jury that he snapped after years of abuse and killed his own father."

Avery tightens her grip on Teagan when a sob broke free and she went weak in the knees. Neither girl ever knew that things were that bad for him.

"I want to help." Teagan said, as she wiped the tears from her face. She wasn't there for Isaac in the past, but she was going to be there now.

"We'll all help." Avery added, she too wanted to help her new friend.

"No." Derek barked, then added, "You two stay out of this."

Avery opened her mouth to argue, but before she could say a word, Derek looked at Scott and snapped, "Get in, now."

"We'll save him. I promise." Scott said softly to the two girls, as he walked pass them to get inside the car.

The two girls watched as Derek drove away. Avery kept her arm around Teagan, until she pushed away from her and begin to walk toward her car. Avery quickly ran after her as she called out to her, but the other girl ignored her as she unlocked her car doors and slid behind the wheel.

Avery opened the passenger side door and jumped in as Teagan cranked the car and pulled out of the parking lot, speeding down the road. Avery looked over at her best friend and called out her name again, but Teagan continued to ignore her as she pushed her foot down. Avery watched the speedometer go up then looked over at Teagan again with a worried expression. Teagan was never the type to speed.

"Teagan! Teagan! What are you doing?" Avery yelled, finally getting through to her.

"I'm going to save him." Teagan answered simply.

"But how? Cause I got to say flying down the road isn't going to solve anything." Avery pointed out.

"Oh, sorry." Teagan mumbled, as she looked down noticing how fast she was going for the first time. She eased up on the accelerator, bringing the car back to the speed limit.
"I got to talk to dad. He can help." Teagan added.

"Your dad? That's your big plan." Avery said, then added, "T that is a terrible plan. Did you forget what Isaac is? He's a werewolf."

"How could I forget, Avery? Your ass of a boyfriend turned him." Teagan snapped, then quickly looked over at Avery to apologize. She knew it wasn't her fault, but she was just so worried about Isaac. He needed help and she was at a loss on what to do.

She gripped the steering wheel and pulled her car into the first parking lot she came across. After bringing the car to a stop she laid her hands on top of the steering wheel then laid her forehead against them as tears began to form in her eyes again.

"It's ok T, he's going to be ok." Avery said softly, as she rubbed Teagan's back as she began to cry.

"You can't say that, A. You can't promise that." Teagan cried out, as she lifted her head to look at her, then she added, "I know you trust Derek, but I can't. I have to do something. I have to help him."

"I get it T, trust me, I do. I want to help him too." Avery said, then added, "Isaac is my friend too."

"Yeah but I..."

"You what?" Avery asked when she paused.

"I care about him." Teagan admitted softly, then added, "I care about him, A, and I can't lose him."

"You won't." Avery promised, as she laid a hand on top of Teagan's then added, "I don't care what Derek said, we're going to help. We're going to save Isaac."

"Thank you." Teagan whispered with a small smile.

"You're welcome." Avery said, then added, "Now move your ass over cause if we're doing this, there is no way in hell I am letting you drive."

Teagan chuckled as she opened the door and got out of the car to switch sides with Avery. Once the girls were back on the road, Avery was trying to call Derek, wondering what the plan to save Isaac was, but unfortunately he was ignoring her calls. She kept trying to call him as Teagan called Stiles, hoping he would know something.

After finding out from Stiles, who was on the his way to get Derek, then going to the police station before a hunter, who the Argent's sent to kill Isaac could make it there, Avery speed down the road toward the station, which was on the other side of town.

"We're never going to make it." Teagan mumbled, expecting the worst when they did get to the station.

"We will make it." Avery said, as she pressed down on the gas.

Many minutes later, Avery slammed on the brakes and parked the car beside Stiles' Jeep before the two girls jumped out of the car and ran inside the building.

The first thing they heard once they were inside was the fire alarm ringing, followed by a lot of growling and fighting sounds coming from the back of the building. Thankfully no one was at the front desk, giving the girls a chance to run toward the back where the jail cells were.

As soon as they make it to the room, they skid to a stop and saw a man, who they figured was the hunter laying on the floor with a wolfed out Isaac standing over him. Avery glanced off to the side and saw Stiles huddling in a corner.

Avery was about to rush over to Stiles to check on him, while Teagan was froze in her spot as she stared straight ahead at Isaac with wide eyes. At hearing two new heart beats in the room, Isaac turned to look at them. Not having any control at the moment, he growled and snarled at them.

Teagan gasped in surprise, remembering the time when she and Avery were face to face with the alpha. She jumped in surprise when Avery reached out to grab her hand, both girls scared out of their minds.

Isaac growled again and went to take a step toward them until Derek appeared out of nowhere and let out a loud roar, causing Isaac to whimper as he cowered in a corner and covered his head up with his arms, like he was trying to hide from everyone.

"How did you do that?" Stiles asked, recovering first.

"I'm the alpha." Derek said matter-of-factly.

Isaac slowly lowered his arms, his face back to normal, with a scared look on his face. He tried to avoid everyone's eyes, ashamed for the way he acted and what he almost did. He almost went after Avery and Teagan, the girl that was his friend and the girl he never wanted to hurt, the girl he cares about more than anyone.

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, getting a whiff of Teagan's scent and feeling himself calm down instantly. He knew he shouldn't do it, but he couldn't stop himself from opening his eyes and looking over at her. He felt his heart break when he saw the scared look on her face.

He looked back down at the floor as tears filled his eyes, there was no way she would ever want him now. Not that he ever thought he really stood a chance, but there were times he thought maybe she could love him, but not now, not after he almost attacked her and scared her. She would never love him now.

"Avery!" Scott called as he jogged over to her.

She unlocked her car door and looked up at him.

"Hey." She responded with a friendly smile.

"I need your help." He said.

"With?" she questioned.

"Derek, he's turning people." Scott explained.

Waving her hand to silence him she said, "I know… but Isaac was in a terrible situation at home, you know that." Avery argued, defending her boyfriend.

"No, you don't get it. Derek is trying to build a pack because it will make him stronger, he didn't do that to help Isaac. He did it for himself." Scott explained, hoping she'd agree to help him.

"No, I trust him and if he was building a pack he'd tell me." She reasoned.

"You shouldn't trust him, not on this. He's been trying to get me to join his pack, and I won't do it, so that means he's going to turn 2 more people." Scott explained.

"He's been trying to get you to join his pack?" Avery asked.

Scott nodded.

"If he's going to listen to anyone, it will be you. You have to help me." Scott pleaded.

Slowly she nodded and said, "I'll go see him now."

Scott opened his mouth to say more, but she got in her car and shut the door.
