Last Kiss -Chapter 46

~A Teen Wolf fan-fiction collaboration between Miss E Charlotte and Sage Londyn~

A few days later, Teagan was at her locker changing out the books she would need for that morning.

After she was done, she shut the door then gasped in surprise when she saw Stiles leaning against the locker beside hers.

"Jeeze Stiles! You scared me." Teagan said, as she laid a hand over her racing heart.

"Sorry." Stiles mumbled before he began to moan pitifully.

"Um, Stiles, is everything ok?" Teagan asked, as she raised her eyebrows in confusion, wondering what was wrong with him.

"I'm worried about Avery." Stiles said, then added, "I can't make her cry. The other day I went to her house with every sad movie I could find, but nothing. She didn't even cry during The Lion King."

"The Lion King, Teagan. Which is one of the saddest cartoons ever made." Stiles added dramatically.

"Oh my God, I cry every time I watch that." Teagan said sadly.

"Me too." Stiles admitted without thinking.

"You cry during The Lion King?" Teagan asked with a giggle.

"What? No... I mean... ok yes. I cried, ok?" Stiles said, "It's sad when Mufasa dies."

Teagan laughed again, then asked, "Why are you trying to make her cry?"

"You said… if she doesn't cry it's a bad thing, so I'm trying to get her to cry. You know to feel things and grieve so she can move on." Stiles pointed out.

"Stiles, I didn't mean make her cry." Teagan said back, then added. "You got to let her deal with this at her own pace. You can't force her to move on before she's ready."

"I just want her to be ok. I hate seeing her hurting." Stiles said sadly, thinking about how he'd spend every day with her since she and Derek had ended things.

Teagan opened her mouth to comment but before she could say a word they heard a round of laughter from down the hall.

The two teen looked in that direction and saw Avery in the middle of a group of guys, smiling and laughing at them as they flirted with her.

"Ok… that doesn't look like she is hurting, but I know she is." Stiles said, then looked over to Teagan as he asked, "That does mean she is hurting right?"

"Yeah, if you look closely, that's a fake smile on her face." Teagan pointed out.

"Ok so if we can't make her cry and she's fake smiling, what can we do?" Stiles asked.

"We have to find something that will make her smile, for real." Teagan suggested.

"Like what?" Stiles asked, coming up blank.

Teagan thought for a moment until an idea hit her, looking at Stiles with a grin on her face she said, "I got it. I know something that will make her happy."

"What?" Stiles asked.

"Something that she loved when we were younger." Teagan said vaguely.

"Ice skating?" Stiles guessed.

"Ok, how could you possibly know that?" Teagan asked surprised.

"Did you forget about the huge crush I have on her?" Stiles asked sarcastically, then added, "I remember overhearing you two talking about taking skating lessons years ago. I even thought about getting Avery a pair of skates for her birthday that year but my dad wouldn't give me the money."

"Aw! I bet she would have loved that." Teagan said with a smile.

"Really?" Stiles asked surprised.

"Well she probably would have found it creepy since we didn't really know who you were then, but knowing about it now she would find it sweet." Teagan explained.

Stiles nodded his head then asked, "So ice skating... that would make her happy?"

"I think so." Teagan said.

"Ok , we will do that then." Stiles said happily.

"Hey, we can invite Scott and Allison too. Make it a group thing." Teagan suggested.

Stiles nodded his head in agreement then clapped his hands once when he thought of something, "Hey I got it. You know that guy Boyd? He always sits at lunch alone."

When Teagan shook her head, Stiles added, "Well anyway, I know him and he works at a skate rink. Maybe I can get him to let us borrow the keys."

"You think he would do that?" Teagan asked excitedly.

"Of course. We're friends... sorta." Stiles said, then added, "If we pay him he will."

"Well pay him then. Give him whatever he wants." Teagan said, knowing how much a night of ice skating with her closest friends would cheer Avery up.

"Do I look like I am made of money? You've seen my piece of crap Jeep right?" Stiles asked sarcastically.
"Here, give him this." Teagan said, as she pulled a wad of cash from her purse and handed it to him.

"Can I keep the change?" Stiles asked, as he looked down at the money.

"Stiles! Just go!" Teagan said, as she turned him around and pushed him down the hallway as Avery was walking toward them.

Avery walked passed Stiles and shot him a confused look wondering why he was rushing past her with a cheesy grin on his face.

"What's with him?" Avery asked, as she nodded toward the direction Stiles had left in.

"We're working on a plan." Teagan said vaguely, as the two friends begin to walk down the hall.

"What kind of plan?" Avery asked.

"We are taking you out tonight." Teagan said, quickly adding when Avery opened her mouth, "And don't even think of saying no. There was a time when you dragged me out against my will, so think of this as pay back."

"I wasn't going to say no." Avery said,"I was just going to ask where we are going."

Teagan shot her a shocked look, she thought she was going to have to force Avery to go.

"He who should not be named has clearly moved on, so I'm not going to sit around and cry. I'm going to go out with my friends and have fun." Avery said, as she wrapped an around Teagan's waist, then asked, "So where are we going?"

"It's a surprise, but trust me, you will love it." Teagan said with a smile, as she wrapped an arm around Avery as they continued to walk down the hallway together.

Later that afternoon, Teagan was walking down the hall, heading for the parking lot with a smile on her face. 'Operation cheer up Avery' was on track.

Stiles was able to get the keys from Boyd, after paying him $50, then they had invited Scott and Allison, who were excited to tag along.

Now she just had to rush home, get dressed then pick up Avery.

She was so lost in thought, thinking about how to make the night great for her best friend, that she never heard anyone call for her until someone ran up behind her and grabbed her shoulder.

She spun around in surprise then smiled when she saw it was Jackson and called out a friendly greeting.

"Hey, I've been calling your name for the last ten minutes. I was starting to think you were ignoring me." Jackson joked, as he walked along beside her.

"Of course I wouldn't ignore you, Jackson." Teagan said with a smile, then asked, "Did you need something?"

"I was wondering if you had any plans tonight? I thought maybe we could catch a movie or something since we haven't hung out in awhile." Jackson suggested innocently. He figured with Isaac out of the picture now was his chance to make a move.

"I would love to Jackson, but I already have plans tonight." Teagan said, feeling bad for turning a friend down.

"That's ok. Maybe this weekend or something. After the lacrosse game." Jackson said back, trying not to feel disappointed.

Teagan went to nod her head until she had a idea, she came to a stop then grabbed his arm to stop him as she said, "Wait I got it. You can come tonight too. Yeah that would be perfect. The more the better."

"Go where?" Jackson asked confused.

"Stiles and I are taking Avery ice skating to cheer her up." Teagan answered.

"You? Ice skating?" Jackson asked with a chuckle. Then as she nodded her head, he couldn't help but burst out laughing as he said, "Teagan you're a terrible ice skater, that's why you quit taking lessons."

"I'm not that bad." Teagan argued.

"Your ass was on the ice more than your skates." Jackson said as he continued to laugh.

"Not everyone is a Olympic skater their first time out." Teagan argued, as she folded her arms across her chest then added, "I got better."

"No, no, you got worse." Jackson said, then added, "even your teacher said she felt bad for taking your dad's money cause you were never going to get better."

"I knew I should have never told you that." Teagan mumbled, as she began to pout.

"Hey don't look at me like that. I can't help you suck at ice skating." Jackson said with another laugh when he saw the look on her face.

"I might suck at skating but I am good at other things." Teagan pointed out.

"Yeah you are." Jackson said with a flirty grin.

Teagan chuckled and rolled her eyes at his comment, then said, "Maybe I should tell people about how you rented out an ice skating rink for me a few years ago for my birthday and even skated with me. I believe you were even wearing tights."

"Hey! We promised we would never tell anyone about that." Jackson said, as he glanced around, making sure no one overheard.

"I'm kidding. I won't tell anyone." Teagan said with a laugh, then added, "As long as you come skating with us tonight."

"I was going to go anyways." Jackson said, then added with a laugh, "Cause I want to see you fall on your ass again."

"Ha-ha." Teagan said sarcastically, as she told him what time to meet at the rink.
When Jackson nodded his head, she begin to walk backward then called out, "Oh and don't forget the tights."

Jackson rolled his eyes and laughed as he shook his head then turned around to walk down the hall in the opposite direction.

After saying bye to Jackson, Teagan turned and headed down the hallway where she saw Erica at her locker.

Taking a deep breath Teagan approached her.

"Hey Erica." Teagan greeted managing a small smile at the girl.

Erica glanced over at her and then continued to fluff her hair as she looked in the mirror on the inside of her locker door.

"I uh, I said hey." Teagan reminded her.

"You did, and I heard you. I'm a werewolf remember?" Erica snapped at her.

"I know exactly what you are. Look, I'm not here to pick a fight, I just wanted to ask you something." Teagan addressed.

"Are you really waiting for an invitation to ask me?" Erica continued as she applied her lipstick.

Taking a deep breath and trying not to get irritated at her Teagan looked around them to make sure no one else was around as she whispered, "I just wanted to know how Isaac is doing."

Erica was silent before she spritzed herself with perfume and said, "What's wrong? Is little miss popularity afraid to go ask him herself?"

"Excuse me?" Teagan asked, surprised at her reaction.

"Like you even care anyways." Erica continued to taunt her.

Erica had just heard her talking to Jackson and asking him on what sounded like a date for the night.

"Why are being like this? I've never done anything to you." Teagan began to say.

"You didn't have to do anything to me directly; you piss me off just by being you." Erica admitted.

Teagan looked at her confused.

"God, you don't even realize how good you have it. Girls like Lydia, Avery and you just get everything handed to them. You don't know what it's like to be outcasted for anything, I be you've never ate lunch by yourself for even one day in your entire life." Erica said as she crossed her arms over her chest.

"You don't know any of us." Teagan argued. They might not have been outcasts at school, but both Teagan and avery had lost their moms and Lydia's parent's were divorced.

Each of them had their own struggled and pain to go through.

"I know everything that I need to. You're the type of girl who always gets the guy, people clamor to just be around you." She said with an arched eyebrow.

"Erica, I'm sorry that school has been hell for you but I never…" Teagan started to point out that she had never been mean or said anything bad about her.

"Why are you asking me about Isaac… when you're going out with Jackson?" Erica interrupted her.

"Jackson and I broke up." Teagan explained, thinking Erica maybe hadn't heard about it.

She scoffed, "It sure sounded like you were making plans with him tonight."

"Well, I did but…" Teagan started to explain but then stopped.

"But what?" Erica pried taking a step closer; expecting Teagan to feel intimidated and continue her explination.

"But I don't have to explain a damn thing to you." Teagan said confidently as she walked past Erica heading to her next class as the bell rang.

"Whose idea was this?" Avery asked as she sat in the passenger seat of Teagan's car.

"Both mine and Stiles'." She admitted.

"Please tell me it was more your idea than his. I think he means well, but he really sucks at trying to cheer someone up. You know, if I didn't know better… I'd swear he was trying to make me sadder." Avery admitted.

Teagan stifled a laugh, "He does mean well.

"The other day, when I got home from shopping he was at my house with a bunch of sad movies. I mean, my god… is he allergic to the comedy section of the video store?" Avery mumbled shaking her head.

"That might have kind of been my fault." Teagan admitted.

"How so?" Avery asked.

"I, uh… I might have mentioned that when something wrong it's bad if you don't cry, because it means you're holding it all in. But I think Stiles misunderstood me because he's been trying to make you cry." Teagan explained.

"So… Stiles has been trying to help me feel better by making me cry?" Avery questioned.

Teagan nodded.

The car was silent for a few moments before Avery started laughing. "That's hilarious."

A smile spread over Teagan's lips at the sound of her best friend's real laughter, not the fake laughing she'd been doing at school.

"Repeat this to anyone and I'll kill you, but for the record I've not been holding it all in… I've cried a few times. In the shower of course so that no one could hear me. But I'm really trying to deal with it." Avery admitted as she looked out of her passenger window.

"Are we… going ice skating?" Avery asked as Teagan pulled into the parking lot.

"You used to love ice skating." Teagan said smiling as she parked the car in the otherwise empty parking lot.

"Remember when we thought for sure that we were going to be figure skaters?" Avery asked with a smile.

Teagan laughed and nodded.

"But then we found out how bad you sucked at ice skating and it shot that dream to hell." Avery continued.

"Don't sugar coat it, A… god." Teagan said looking at her, still laughing.

"I'm sorry… but it's the truth." Avery said as she remembered back to going ice skating with her best friend when they were younger.

Avery looked around and then down to the dark purple tank top and black skirt she was wearing. "I'm going to freeze."

"Oh, I brought an extra sweat shirt." Teagan said as she reached into the back seat of her car.

"You're kidding me." Avery said as she took the pink sweatshirt from her friend.

"Honestly, it was the darkest color one I had clean." Teagan said with an apologetic smile as she motioned down to her yellow zip-up sweat shirt.

Avery sighed as she pulled on the pink zip-up sweatshirt.

Jackson pulled into the parking lot and Teagan got out of her car to talk to him.

Avery sat in the car with her arms folded over her chest, unhappy about having to wear bright pink.

"Where's Avery?" Jackson asked.

"In the car." Teagan admitted.

"I'm glad you came tonight." Teagan told him smiling.

"Really?" Jackson asked, surprised.

"Yeah, I mean Avery's going through a really rough time and she needs all of us here." Teagan said as she looked back to the car.

Jackson sighed and shook his head, that wasn't what he wanted to hear from her.

Knowing that Lahey had to stay in hiding, seemed like the perfect opportunity for him to win back what was rightfully his; Teagan.

He'd decided to use to the night to remind her how much fun they used to have together before things got so complicated, plus with Teagan's terrible skating skills he knew he'd be able to hold her quite a bit that night.

They talked for a little while and then Allison pulled up, and joined them.

It was only moments later that Stiles pulled into the parking lot with Scott, he'd just picked his friend up from work.

Scott and Allison kissed each other hello and stood hand in hand.

"I thought you were bringing, Avery." Stiles said looking at Teagan.

"She's refusing to get out of the car." Teagan said, but didn't explain why.

"Avery, come on!" Allison yelled.

When she didn't get out of the car Jackson called out, "I'll throw you over my shoulder and carry you inside if you don't get your ass out of the car."

With a heavy sigh, Avery opened her door and stood up out of the car.

Everyone's eyes widened at seeing her in a bright sweatshirt.

She walked up to the group and looked at all of their surprised faces.

Crossing her arms over her chest she stated, "No one warned me I need to dress warm."

"You look good… pink suits you." Allison offered with friendly smile.

"God, I hope you're able to lie better than that to your family." Avery retorted.

Allison's eyes widened.

"Okay… let's just get inside." Scott breathed out as he took the keys from Stiles and started towards the door.

Jackson and Teagan followed behind them and Avery stayed in where she had been standing.

"Come on, can you at least put in an effort to have some fun? I had to pay Boyd $50 for the keys." He explained to her.

"You paid Boyd $50?" Avery asked with an arched eyebrow.

"Yes, I paid Boyd $50 dollars of Teagan's money." He explained.

He watched as the corner of her mouth twitched up into a half smile.

"Let's go." He said, as he paused for a minute before he grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the door.

Once they were all inside, Avery sat down by Stiles as they put their ice skates on and laced them up.

He looked over to her as she watched Allison and Scott talking quietly and laughing a few rows over from them.

The Avery looked out to the ice where Jackson was helping Teagan, she hadn't even been on the ice for a few seconds before her feet started to kick out from under her.

Jackson laughed as he wrapped his arms around her to her keep her up, and stable.

"I hope he holds onto her tight… she'll break something if he doesn't." Avery breathed out.

"I don't really think he intends on letting go of her." Stiles said quietly back to her.

Avery nodded; it was obvious to her that Jackson was using the night to try to get back with Teagan.

"What?" Stiles asked as he saw Avery look back to Scott and Allison and then back to Jackson and Teagan.

"is this supposed to be a date?" She bluntly asked looking back to Stiles.

His eyes widened, "Uh… no, we're just hanging out… trying to cheer you up."

"We're all paired up." She pointed out.

"But... we... I-I swear I didn't plan it this way." Stiles quickly explained, not wanting her to get the wrong idea.

"Calm down, Stiles." Avery said with a chuckle, then added, "I didn't say it would have been a bad thing.

"Really?" Stiles asked surprised.

"Yeah, I mean… I'm not saying this is a date, but I do like hanging out with you Stiles." Avery said. Then added, "You've been there a lot for me and I don't mean just since the you know, break up, but even before then. You've been there and I'm just saying I've noticed and thank you."

"Y-you're welcome." Stiles said with a surprised look still on his face.

"Aw jeeze you're not going to cry are you?" Avery joked, then added, "You look just like you did while we were watching The Lion King, right before you burst into tears."

"Hey! Mufasa died. Show some respect." Stiles said back.

"Oh yeah it was so sad when they stopped drawing the cartoon lion." Avery said, as she rolled her eyes with a laugh.

"You have a cold, cold heart Avery Dukate." Stiles said dramatically, as he laid a hand over his heart.

"And you are a big baby Stiles Stilinski." Avery joked back.

"And you're mean." Stiles said back, as he pretend to cry.

Avery laughed as she stood up, wobbling for a moment, then after she caught her balance she held out a hand for Stiles to take as she said, "Ok, quit crying and let's go skate."

Stiles laid his hand in hers, feeling a tingle from his head to his toes, then stood up and followed her to the ice rink.

He wasn't the greatest skater, but he wasn't the worst either. He held on to Avery's hand for the first ten or so minutes until he felt like he could skate around on his own.

Once she was done leading Stiles around, Avery skated toward the middle of the rink and did a few spins and jumps she had learned back in the day when she took lessons.

She felt the smile on her face getting bigger and bigger each time she landed a jump. It had been a long time since she got on the ice but it was like she had never left.

She flew around the rink, feeling her hair whip around and felt free for the first time in a while.

She went into another spin, starting out slow then picking up speed. When she came to a stop she heard clapping and glanced around to see that Scott, Allison, Teagan, Jackson and Stiles had been watching her and were now clapping. She laughed then did a small bow before motioning for them all to go back to what they were doing.

"Wow, that was... that was amazing." Stiles said with a shocked expression on his face, as he skated over to her.

"Why do you sound so surprised. You knew I use to take lessons." Avery said.

"Yeah but I didn't know you were that good." Stiles said, then added, "You really could have been like a real professional skater and won the Olympics or something."

Avery chuckled at his comment then said, "I don't think I'm that good, but thanks."

"I do, you are really good. Why did you quit?" Stiles asked her.

"Teagan." Avery answered, then added, "It wasn't fun without my best friend."

"So you gave up something you love, something you are good at for Teagan?" Stiles asked, then before she could answer he added, "That's crazy."

"Not really. Wouldn't you do anything for Scott?" Avery asked back.

Stiles looked over at his best friend, who was kissing on Allison at the moment, then turned back to look at Avery as he said, "Point taken."

"But I still think you should have kept skating." Stiles added. He looked over at Jackson and Teagan, who was actually standing on her own two feet without Jackson holding her as she slowly skated a little, then he said, "Besides she's not that bad."

As soon as the words left his mouth, they saw Teagan fall flat on her butt, causing Avery and Stiles to make a face and hissed out in pain as they imagined how badly that must have hurt her.

Jackson chuckled as he leaned down and placed his hands under Teagan's arms and easily lifted her up then said, "Ok that's it T. I'm taking you off the ice. That's the 38th time you have fallen."

"You've been keeping track of it?" Teagan asked with a laugh.

"Yes, now come on, off the ice." Jackson said, as he kept his arm wrapped around her waist as he began to led her across the ice.

They were almost to the entrance when her feet flew out from under her and she fell again before Jackson could catch her.

"And 39." Jackson said with a laugh.

"You're right, it's time to give up." Teagan said with a pout, as she rubbed her sore butt.

Jackson chuckled as he leaned down to pick her up then carry her off of the ice in his arms, he was worried if he sat her feet down on the ice she would fall for the 40th time, besides any excuse to hold her was a good enough reason for him.

Once off the ice, he walked over to the closest bench then sat her down before sitting down beside her.

"I should have got off of the ice sooner. Everything hurts and I swear my butt is covered in bruises." Teagan whined.

"I can check that for you." Jackson said with a wink.

"Uh no. You are not looking at my bruised butt." Teagan said back with a laugh.

"Bruises or not, it's still a cute butt." Jackson said with a shrug.

"You have to say that you're my boy... I mean my friend." Teagan said, quickly recovering. She couldn't believe she almost slipped and called him her boyfriend. What the hell was wrong with her?

Jackson, who was bent over to remove his skates, smiled at her slip-up.

He knew the night felt like a date to him and apparently it was the same for her. It seemed like Lahey was the last thing on her mind right now.

"I don't compliment just anyone's butt." Jackson said, as he sat up, then added, "Avery is my friend too but I'm not checking out her ass. Same with Danny."

"You should check out Danny's butt sometimes. It's a nice butt." Teagan joked.

"Nah, Danny would like it to much if I did that. You know he wants me right?" Jackson said back.

"You think everyone wants you." Teagan said with a laugh, then groaned when even laughing hurt.

"I can't help that I am everyone's type." Jackson joked back, causing her to laugh more.
"Stop making me laugh, it hurts." Teagan moaned.

"You started it." Jackson said with a laugh.

"And now I'm finishing it." Teagan joked back, as she stuck her tongue out at him.

"Now see I was about to be nice and take your skates off for you but since you want to be mean you can do it yourself." Jackson said back.

"Please Jackson... please take off my skates." Teagan begged and even went as far as to poke her lip out, which she knew he couldn't resist.

Jackson rolled his eyes then patted his legs and said, "Fine, put 'em up here."

"I can't lift my legs. It hurts." Teagan cried.

"You know I'm realy starting to think you're faking it." Jackson said, as he leaned down to pick up her legs and placed them in his lap, then added, "Just like that time you were faking sick when your parents were out of town and I had to take care of you."

"I was not faking." Teagan called out in fake shock, then added, "I really was sick."

"You weren't that sick." Jackson argued, as he began to untie her skates and take them off.

"Hey we still had a great week though right?" Teagan said back with a smile.

Jackson looked over at her and smiled back as he remember that week a few years ago.

With her parents gone and her not feeling well, they agreed to let her stay at Avery's house and since her dad was never around, Jackson was by her side the whole week.

Sometimes they watched movies with Avery then other times she left them alone, giving them a chance to spend some time together which led to a lot of make-out sessions. That week was also a dating milestone for them.

"I also remember that was the week I told you I love you." Jackson said with a smile still on his face.

"I remember." Teagan said softly, smiling back.

"I was such a nervous wreck that whole week." Jackson said with a laugh.

"Why?" Teagan asked confused.

"It's nerve racking saying those three little words to someone." Jackson pointed out.

"Yeah but you knew how I felt about you then." Teagan said back.

"I had a good idea how you felt, but at that point you had not said the words either so I wasn't sure." Jackson said, then added, "I remember I had wanted to tell you 'I love you' sooner but I couldn't get the words out."

"Oh my God, is that why you kept starting a sentence with 'I love ... ' then throwing in random stuff like, 'this movie', 'pizza' or 'hanging out with you'?" Teagan asked with a laugh.

"I couldn't get the word 'you' out." Jackson said, then added, "I would start to say it then you would look at me with those big brown eyes like you are right now and I just couldn't do it."

"What made you finally be able to say it?" Teagan asked.

"I don't know. It was just something about that week. I remember it was our last night before your parents were coming back and we were lying in bed. You were laying on me and I was running my fingers through your hair like this." Jackson begin to say, as he reached forward to run his fingers through her hair like he had that night, then continued, "You were about to fall asleep and I remember you said 'thank you for taking care of me' and I knew in that moment that I always wanted to take care of you and in that moment I wasn't afraid to say it anymore. I wanted you to know how I felt so I just said it."

"It was the perfect end to a perfect week." Teagan said, smiling.

"Yeah it was." Jackson said, as he smiled back.

The two continued to look at each other with a smile on their faces until they heard footsteps walking toward them followed by Avery's voice.

"Ok… between Teagan and Scott falling every two seconds and the fact that my feet are starting to hurt, I say we call it a night." She said to them.

Teagan broke eye contact first to look at her best friend as she said, "Yeah I'm going to need to soak my body in hot water for a few hours to feel like normal again."

"I know what you mean." Avery said, as she sat down beside Teagan to take off her skates. She noticed Teagan's legs were laid in Jackson's lap and that he was lightly massaging her legs, but she made no comment about it, at least not now. She would question her best friend about it later.

Avery had just took her skates off when Stiles, Scott and Allison walked over toward them.

Everyone talked for a few minutes while they put their regular shoes back on and got ready to leave.

Avery thanked everyone for the group outing, it did actually help some with cheering her up, and then they all walked outside.

Before Stiles left, Avery got the keys from him so she could use the restroom one last time. While she was inside the building, everyone else but Teagan and Jackson left, leaving them alone in the parking lot.

"Thanks for inviting me to this, it was pretty interesting." Jackson said to her.

"What was so interesting? Watching me fall on my ass." Teagan joked.

"That was pretty interesting." Jackson said with a laugh, then added seriously, "And I was reminded of how good we are together."

"We were good together Jackson but now we're just friends." Teagan said carefully, not wanting him to get the wrong idea.

Jackson shook his head as he said, "We'll never be just friends, T."

Teagan opened her mouth to disagree but before she could say a word, Jackson took a few steps toward her and pressed his lips against her for a heated kiss.

She stood still for a moment in shock and couldn't help but think about how different his kiss was from Isaac's kisses.

Jackson had always made her heart race and even now he did, but when Isaac had kissed her it was like her whole body came alive.

She had goose-bumps on top of goose-bumps but with Jackson she didn't.

She realized in that moment that things were truly over for them and Isaac was the one she wanted.
