Dear readers,

You may notice that there are about ten missing chapters. I'd like to take the time to explain what's going on.

About a year ago, I was fighting through some pretty serious and still ongoing personal issues, and I decided that a good way to work through this was to push myself to work on my fics and push chapters out for both of my active stories every other week. (So you'd see a chapter for AEM one week, another for Electric Sheep the week after that, another one for AEM after that, and so on.) In a way, it did help because I stopped thinking about a lot of things and started working on moving on, but on the other hand, a lot of people weren't entirely okay with the chapters I'd produced during this time period. Electric Sheep still nets only a small readership, and as for AEM…

Well. People started coming out from all kinds of places to tell me how disappointed they were in the direction the fic was taking. Some people have even PMed me to tell me they were going to stop reading. It's part of the reason why updates have been slowing down for this fic because to be honest … I wasn't entirely satisfied either.

Currently, I'm using Camp NaNoWriMo to finish the fic, but these final chapters will not be posted immediately. What's going to happen instead is I'm going to finish the fic, and then I'm going to go back and see about revising or rewriting chapters. I mean, sure, one could argue that a fic is primarily the author's story, but when so many people have come to tell me they're disappointed with how the fic is going and if I'm not completely happy with it myself, I'm not entirely encouraged to continue as is.

I'm not sure when the revisions will happen because I have a lot on my plate at the moment (and because I'm working on a second fic simultaneously), but I hope to come back to this eventually, particularly because I want to continue it on Serebii and so forth.

In the meantime, I apologize to all of you who were disappointed in the ten chapters that were posted last year, and I thank you for your patience.

Yours,
JX Valentine
