A New Pack -Chapter 54

~A Teen Wolf fan-fiction collaboration between Miss E Charlotte and Sage Londyn~

Once Lydia left the room, Teagan glanced over at Jackson, neither one really knowing what to say, then she looked down at the keychain remembering everything she felt the day she gave it to him. But regardless of how she felt then or how she felt now, she had moved on and was happy.

Jackson saw her stick the keychain in her pocket, then he cleared his throat as he said, "She's right."

"Which part?" Teagan questioned.

"All of it." Jackson said, then he took a step toward her as he said, "We'll always love each other."

Teagan nodded her head then said, "Yeah we will. That love, the bond that we have, will never go away."

"And we'll always come back together." Jackson said softly, as he raised a hand to rest on her cheek, "No matter what. I'm not going to let anyone, anything or even distance get between us."

She looked up at him, knowing she had to tell him about Isaac, she didn't want to lead him on into thinking they were getting back together.

But before she could say a word, she saw him leaning toward her, as if he was going to kiss her.

"Jackson, we can't." Teagan said, as she lowered her head, causing his lips to press against her forehead instead of her lips.

She took a step away from him and turned around, not wanting to face him as she broke the news. She took a deep breath then said, "I'm with Isaac now."

She wasn't sure how he was going to take the news. Would he yell? Would he just leave the room and never talk to her again?

There was many different ways he could take it, but what she didn't expect was laughter. She quickly turned around to look at him as she heard him laughing harder.

"Seriously? You're dating Lahey now?" Jackson asked, as he laughed again before adding, "I mean yeah, I'm not that surprised cause of the way he's been obsessed with you but you can't honestly think you two are going to last do you?"

"I don't know what the future holds Jackson, but I do know I like him a lot." Teagan answered honestly.

"But can you honestly say we're over?" Jackson asked, as he walked toward her and added, "That you never think about me..."

"Of course I think about you, Jackson, we're still friends. I think about all my friends." Teagan answered, skating around the real question.

Jackson smirked at her answer and knew she was avoiding, he placed his hands on either side of her face, forcing her to look at him as he said, "You know that's not what I meant."

"What do you want from me Jackson? Do you want to hear that I still love you? That I do wonder sometimes if I made a mistake in breaking up? That I think about our past a lot and there are times I do miss you and miss us?" Teagan asked.

Then added before he could answer, "Cause the answer to all of that is yes. I do think about us, but like I said I don't know what the future holds all I know is what I feel now and what I feel now is..."

"Is what?" Jackson asked when she paused.

"That we are definitely over cause the things I feel for you, I'm starting to feel for him." She admitted quietly, knowing that would hurt him and she hated hurting him.

Jackson looked at her with a surprised expression and took a step back from her as he stuttered out, "I-I heard it."

"Heard what?" Teagan asked confused.

"Your heart. I heard it, it was steady the whole time." Jackson said, as he continued to hear it beating in her chest, only now it was starting to race some as she worried about him.

"You weren't lying." Jackson mumbled quietly, as he glanced down at the floor.

Teagan opened her mouth to apologize but before she could say a word, Jackson groaned and dropped down to the floor as if he was in pain. She rushed to his side, asking him if he was ok, but he didn't answer as he continued to groan out in pain. Teagan took a quick step back when she saw his skin begin to change colors and he begin to shift right before her eyes.

She backed up until her back hit the door then let out a loud scream as he raised his head to look at her as he let out a big hiss toward her. It was Jackson. Jackson was the kanima.

After seeing Isaac was missing from the pack, they didn't have time to react before Isaac knocked Allison to the ground and threw Stiles into the next room.

Avery turned and started to run for the stairs, Isaac tried to stop her but only managed to knock her down.

She landed with a thud on the hard, wood stairs and quickly spun around to face him.

"You… you pushed me!" She yelled angrily.

"I'm not trying to hurt you Avery, just stay out of the way." He said, watching his friend as she gathered the contents from her spilt purse.

She eyed him as she picked up the red taser and held it in her hand.

"Isaac, come on. We're friends, please think about this. Lydia is 16, the same age as Teagan and I and you're going to kill her?" She asked, gripping the taser tighter.

"She's killing people." Isaac argued.

"You're just following Derek's orders." Avery shot back.

"I'm doing the right thing." Isaac argued as he reached down and grabbed her arm, pulling her to her feet.

"So am I." She said, her tone confident as she reached down, and lifted his t-shirt.

"What are you…" He started to ask her, confused by her actions but before he got the chance she pressed the taser to his skin.

Yelling in pain his body fell back on the floor and convulsed from the electrical current.

Hearing a loud scream Avery looked over her shoulder to see Teagan running down the stairs a look of horror on her face.

"What are you doing?" She screamed as she saw Avery and Isaac.

"It's okay… he came after us first." Stiles said as he walked into the room with them, rubbing his sore elbow from where he'd landed on the hardwood floor.

Teagan opened her mouth to let them know that nothing was okay, she'd just seen Jackson start to turn into the Kanima and now Avery was using electivity to severely weaken Isaac.

But still in a state of shock from it all, she wasn't able to speak.

While Avery continued to keep the taser on his skin to keep him incapacitated, Allison raced past them up the stairs, but when she ran into the room she thought Lydia was in, she saw Kanima venom dripping from the window.

She quickly rubbed a few of her arrow tips through it and shot at Erica who'd now infiltrated the house.

Moments later Scott showed up and carried Erica down the stairs.

Seeing what Avery was doing, Allison let some of the venom from an arrow tip drip on Isaac's hand so she could stop electrocuting him.

"Oh my god…" Teagan breathed out as she ran her fingers through her brunette hair and looked around the room at everyone.

Avery stood from where she'd been squatted down and looked at her best friend with an apologetic look. She knew it had hurt Teagan to see Isaac like that, but she had to keep him down.

"Get the door." Scott said.

Avery nodded as she opened the door and Scott throw Isaac and Erica's paralyzed bodies to where Derek was standing with Boyd.

Scott walked out, followed by Allison, Stiles, Avery and Teagan. As the group of teenagers stood on the porch Derek sighed heavily.

After a few moments of silence, Derek said "I think I'm finally getting why you keep refusing me, Scott."

Stiles looked at Avery who's hands were shaking from everything that had just happened and her having to tase one of her friends.

Reaching down he took her hand in his own.

She looked down to their connected hands and gave him a small smile, before turning her attention back to where Derek was standing.

"You're not an omega. You're already an alpha of your own pack." Derek continued to say.

His eyes surveyed the group of friends, his gaze stopping on Stiles and Avery.

His jaw tensed in anger before he looked back to Scott and cockily smiled as he said, "But you know you can't beat me."

"I can hold you off until the cops get here." Scott said as he heard sirens in the distance.

Lydia had locked herself in an upstairs bathroom and called the police when she heard the glass breaking and fighting.

Derek's smile fell and he started to say something but stopped when everyone heard a noise on the roof.

They call moved out into the yard and looked up to see the Kanima as it looked at them and hissed loudly before taking off.

"It really was Lydia." Scott breathed out.

"No… it isn't." Teagan said, as tears burnt her eyes.

"Would someone please tell me what the hell is going on?" Lydia shouted as she walked out onto the porch and stared at everyone expectantly.

"Get them out of there." Derek instructed Boyd, as he looked down to his 2 fallen pack members before he took off running towards the direction the Kanima had gone.

"It's Jackson?" Avery gasped, looking to Teagan who nodded.

"We have to find Jackson before Derek does." Scott told them.

"What is going on?" Lydia yelled louder.

"We can't let Derek kill him, A." Teagan pleaded as she grabbed onto her friends arm.

"Okay, lets go." Avery said, without a second thought as they turned and started towards Teagan's car.

"You guys follow us… I think I can track it." Scott instructed as he and Stiles ran for the jeep.

"Hello?" Lydia yelled angrily as she stomped off the porch towards them.

"My keys." Avery said to Scott.

He handed them back to her and she gave them to Allison.

"Take Lydia home." Avery said to her.

"But I can help…" Allison started to argue.

"I know, but right now she needs you." Avery reasoned nodding towards Lydia.

"Okay." Allison said, still shaken up from the events of the night. But clearly no happy on having to sit this one out.

Everyone waited until Allison got into Avery's car with Lydia and drove off before Stiles and Scott sped off in his jeep followed by Teagan and Avery.

"Teagan!" Avery screamed as she braced herself for her friend to either slam on the brakes or rear-end Stiles' jeep.

He'd come to an abrupt stop in front of them.

Teagan gasped as she quickly stepped on the brakes and came within a few inches of hitting Stiles' car.

The girls got out of her car as Scott jumped the fence in front of them to get to where Derek was wolfed out, fighting with the Kanima.

"Oh my god… do something." Teagan pleaded as she grabbed onto Avery's hand worried that Derek would kill Jackson.

"Like what?" Stiles asked as he exited his jeep and joined their friends.

"Yell for Derek or something… if anyone can get his attention it's you." Teagan pointed out, her voice shaky from fear.

"I can't do that, T." Avery argued.

"Why not?" Teagan yelled, feeling frantic.

"Because if I distract Derek and Jackson gets the upper hand, he could kill him. One swipe from a claw and he's paralyzed. I'm sorry." Avery sincerely apologized. She might still have still been mad at Derek, but she didn't want him to get killed.

"I think we can get in there from the other side, come on." Stiles said as he motioned for them to follow him as he got back in his car.

"Scott!" Stiles called out for his friend as the group of 3 rounded a brick building.

"Hey… I tracked Jackson here." He told them.

"Did you see where he went?" Teagan asked hopeful.

"I lost him." Scott admitted.

"Any clue where he's going?" Stiles asked.

"To kill someone." Scott reminded them.

"Right…" Avery breathed out as she rubbed her forehead.

"Ah, good. That explained the claws and the fangs and stuff. Makes perfect sense now." Stiles said sarcastically.

Scott shot him an un-amused look.

"Scott come on. I'm 147 pounds of pale skin and fragile bone, okay? Sarcasm is my only defense." Stiles defended his actions.

"Well… that's just great." Avery breathed out as she looked above them on the brick building where she saw the end of the Kanima tail poking out from an open window.

"Dude… uh, he's inside." Stiles said motioning for Scott to look at what he and Avery saw.

"We have to get in there." Teagan said as she looked around, trying to figure out where they were.

"What is he even going to do in there?" Stiles wondered.

Teagan and Avery shrugged.

"I know who he's after…" Scott said as he pointed to where the bouncer checked Danny's fake I.D and let him inside of the club.

"We really, really have to get in there." Teagan said swallowing hard.

Not only did she now want to save both Danny and Jackson, she knew if Jackson killed his best friend he'd never be able to forgive himself.

"Maybe there's a back way in." Stiles said looking around.

"Just shut up, and follow me." Avery instructed her group of friends as she started towards the line.

"Excuse me…" She said with a friendly smile as she tapped the bouncer's shoulder.

"Avery." He greeted with a smile as he turned and faced her.

"She… goes clubbing?" Stiles whispered to Teagan, a twinge of jealousy in his voice as he thought of her dancing with a bunch of guys.

Teagan nodded and hoped that Avery knew the guy well enough to get a group of 16 year olds into a 21 and over club.

They listened as Avery made up a lie about her purse being stolen and not having her I.D, but that she really needed into the club and she could vouch for her friends all being old enough.

After a little more convincing he finally let them inside.

"How often do you come here?" Stiles asked once they were inside as he tried not to sound jealous.

"I told you I spend most of my weekends with Danny." Avery reminded him, as she scanned the dance floor.

"Yeah, but I didn't think you meant at a club." He admitted.

"Are you… jealous?" she asked surprised.

"No." He tried to play it off.

"Look I come here to dance and have fun without a bunch of sleazy guys hanging all over me." She explained, her voice trailing off as she saw how panicked Teagan looked.

"It's going to be okay." She assured her as she squeezed her arm.

Teagan nodded and looked around hoping to see Jackson.

"Dude… everyone in here is a dude." Scott realized.

"I… I think we're in a gay club." Scott continued to talk as he looked around.

"Man, nothing gets past those keen werewolf senses, huh, Scott?" Stiles said.

They all looked over to see 3 men dressed in drag as they smiled, and petted on Stiles.

With a laugh Avery walked over and said, "Sorry ladies, this one's taken." As she grabbed Stiles' arm and pulled him with her.

"Watch this." Stiles said confidently to Avery and Teagan as he and Scott started towards the bar.

"What the hell are they doing?" Teagan asked, as the two girls followed behind them.

Avery shrugged as she shot a dirty look to Danny's ex who was dancing with another guy.

"Two beers." Stiles said as he leaned against the bar.

Scott nodded and he looked around and tried to act normal.

" " The bartended requested.

They both pulled out their drivers licenses.

With an amused look he replied, "How about two cokes?"

"Rum and Coke? Sure!" Stiles exclaimed.

Avery and Teagan couldn't help but laugh as they joined their friends at the bar.

"Or just plain coke, it's fine… I'm diving anyway." Stiles tried to play it off.

"Hey." Avery greeted the familiar bartender.

"Avery, hi. The usual?" He questioned as he turned to grab a glass to fill.

Stiles looked at her in disbelief.

"No thanks, I'm not drinking tonight." She said.

"Here on business?" He joked.

"Kinda, have you seen Danny?" She asked.

"Yeah he's right… there." The bartended said as he pointed to where Danny was dancing.

"Thank you." She said with a friendly smile.
