Rave! -Chapter 61
~A Teen Wolf fan-fiction collaboration between Miss E Charlotte and Sage Londyn~
The night of the rave, Teagan was standing in her closet as she tried to figure out what to wear. What did one wear to stop their ex-boyfriend who turns into a lizard looking creature and killed people?
As she was going through her choice of clothes, she heard her bedroom door open and poked her head out to see Avery walking into her bedroom, dressed to kill and holding a duffel bag.
"Hey A, you look amazing." Teagan said, as she walked out of the closet to look at her best friend.
Avery was wearing a short tight black leather skirt with a skin tight strapless corset styled top with an almost entirely open back on the shirt.
"Thank you." Avery said, as she did a curtsy. She noticed Teagan was still in her bathrobe then added, "And you look not ready. We got to get going soon T."
"I know." Teagan said with a sigh, then added, "But I have no idea what to wear. I mean it's not like we're just going to a rave to have fun, we're going to stop Jackson and try not to get killed in the process."
"I figured you would have trouble so I brought this." Avery said, as she put the duffel bag on the bed then began to pull things out. She handed Teagan a pair of black leather pants and a pair of black high heels.
"Why are you always putting me in leather pants?" Teagan asked, as she looked down at the pants.
"Cause you got the ass for it." Avery answered simply, as she walked over to the closet. She pushed a few hangers aside then grabbed a top she had given Teagan a couple of years ago but knew she had never wore it. It was a spaghetti strap fuchsia top with a black back that tied up at the top.
"Here you go." Avery said, as she handed her the top.
"Is this really necessary?" Teagan asked, as she looked at the whole outfit Avery had picked out for her. It seemed like a little too much just to stop Jackson, which is what she told her.
"Look I know we have a job to do and we're going to do, but there is nothing wrong with looking hot while we do it." Avery explained, then added with a smile, "Plus if you walk in looking like that, I know a certain someone is going to regret their recent stupid decision."
"So basically I'm tramping it up for Isaac." Teagan said, as she rolled her eyes.
"Exactly." Avery said with a nod.
Teagan sighed as she sat down on the edge of the bed then said, "I can't get distracted by thinking about Isaac. Besides it hurts to think about him."
"I know, trust me, I understand." Avery said, as she sat down beside her and wrapped an arm around her shoulders. Even if she had moved on to Stiles, it still hurt her anytime she was near Derek. It was hard turning feelings like that off.
"Are you sure you want to do this, T?" Avery asked, feeling worried for her.
"Yes, I'm doing this." Teagan said, as she raised her head to look at Avery with a determined look on her face. "You haven't been talking to Isaac have you?" She asked.
"What? No. Why would I talk to him?" Avery asked confused.
"Yesterday at the vet he was trying to talk me out of it and he even suggested trying to get you to talk me out of it." Teagan explained.
Avery chuckled then said, "Yeah like that would work. I'm surprised he would even think that, besides he's hasn't even tried to speak to me since I threatened to tazer him again that day in the library."
"That was a little mean." Teagan said with a small laugh, as she remembered that day they all were in detention.
"Yeah well so is breaking my best friend's heart." Avery added.
Teagan nodded her head in agreement as she took a deep breath and slowly released it to get control of her emotions. She knew tonight was not going to be easy. It was going to be tense, stressful and having Isaac there wasn't going to be easy either, but she had to do it; for Jackson.
"I know tonight isn't going to be easy..." Avery began to say, thinking the same thing she was. "But just remember, I got your back. We can do this, T." She added, as she grabbed one of Teagan's hands, hoping to calm her fears.
Teagan smiled as she squeezed Avery's hand, feeling stronger than she did earlier, and said, "You're right. We can do this."
Avery smiled back as she nodded her head in agreement then reached into her purse to grab her phone when they heard it go off, letting her know she had a text message.
She quickly read the message then said, "It's from Stiles. He and Scott just left the vet's office and are heading for the warehouse. We got to go."
"Ok, give me a few minutes." Teagan said, as she quickly changed into the outfit Avery picked out for her earlier.
Once the girls were ready they made their way downstairs, Teagan was glad her dad was still at work so she wouldn't have to explain where they were going as the two girls made their way outside and to Avery's car. It was time to put their plan into action.
~()~
Many minutes later, Avery parked her car beside Stiles' Jeep, then exited the car with Teagan as they walked over to meet Stiles and Scott, who were just getting out of Jeep.
Stiles walked to the back of his vehicle and opened it before leaning in to grab a bag of the mountain ash they got from Dr. Deaton. The girls called out a friendly greeting to them, but only Scott spoke back, leaving the girls confused.
Avery reached into her purse to grab the tickets then handed Teagan and Scott theirs before walking up behind Stiles. She lightly touched his back, to get his attention. He turned to look at her and shot her a small smile.
"Hey, you ok?" Avery asked quietly for only him to hear.
"Yeah." Stiles said after he cleared his throat. He hated lying to her, but now was not the time to get into how big of a failure as a son he was for getting his dad suspended.
"Here I'll help you." Avery said, as she went to grab the other bag for him until Scott spoke up. Telling her she couldn't touch it, it had to be something only Stiles did.
"Okay, this plan is really starting to suck." Stiles snapped, feeling annoyed.
"Why does it matter?" Teagan asked.
"I don't know. It's just what Deaton said and if we want this to work then we have to do it right." Scott said.
"So all of this is the mountain ash?" Avery asked, as she nodded to the bags that Stiles took out of his Jeep. When the boys nodded their head, she added, "So what happens next?"
"I have to spread this all around the building and it should trap the master of the kanima as well as Jackson." Stiles explained.
"Is this enough for the whole building?" Teagan questioned.
"I hope so." Stiles mumbled.
Scott froze as he smelled a familiar scent in the air, it was Allison, then said,"No. Not here, not now."
"What's wrong?" Teagan asked him.
Scott didn't say anything as he ran toward the building and went inside. Making them all wonder what was going on. Teagan offered to go find out, leaving Avery and Stiles alone.
"Are you sure you're ok?" Avery asked him.
"Yeah, why?" Stiles asked her.
"You're just really quiet tonight." Avery answered, then added with a laugh, "Plus you haven't checked me out once or told me how great I look."
Stiles chuckled as he reached out to wrap an arm around her waist and pull her toward him for a sweet kiss. He kept one arm around her waist and rested his other hand on the side of her face, lightly stroking her cheek.
"You look beautiful." Stiles said honestly, as he looked into her eyes.
Avery smiled as she leaned forward to press her lips against his for another kiss. The two kissed for a moment, both feeling nervous about the plan tonight but they knew it needed to be done. Stiles wished he could send her home, where she would be safe, but knew that wasn't an option.
"I should get inside and you should get started with the ash." Avery said after the kiss.
Stiles laid his other hand on her face and looked at her closely as he said,"Please be careful. Promise me you will be careful."
"I promise." Avery said, as she gave him another kiss then turned to walk away. She turned back around and handed him the other tickets as she said, "Oh when the sour wolf pack shows up give them those so they can get in."
Stiles took the tickets from her hand and nodded his head, letting her know he would do it, then watched as she turned around and walked inside the noisy building.
Teagan walked through the crowd looking for Scott and finally located him with Allison. She paused to watch them and saw what looked like an argument between them then saw Scott run off, leaving a visibly upset Allison behind.
She watched Allison as she watched Scott walk away and felt bad for her. Teagan knew how it felt to watch the boy you cared about the most just walk away from you.
Teagan went to take a step toward her brunette friend, wanting to check on her. She had only taken one step when she felt someone grab her upper arm and begin to pull her across the dance floor toward one of the many exits. She glanced up and groaned when she saw it was Isaac who was dragging her away.
"Let go of me! Isaac, let me go!" Teagan snapped, as she tried to pull her arm away but he ignored her as he kept pulling her toward the exit.
She tried to put her foot down and bring them to a stop but couldn't keep her feet planted long enough to get traction. Instead she did the one thing she knew would make him stop, making him think he was hurting her.
"Ow! Isaac, y-you're hurting me." Teagan whimpered. She felt bad for lying to him, although it wasn't a complete lie, he was hurting her, just not physically.
Isaac came to a stop and turned to face her with a concern look on his face. When he saw her look down at the floor, he laid his hands on the side of her face, forcing her to look at him, as he said softly, "I'm sorry, are you ok?"
She looked into his eyes and felt her heart race. She bit her bottom lip, missing the familiar tingles she always got when he touched her, but she couldn't get distracted by him, she had a job to do.
"Yep. I'm peachy with a side of keen," She snapped sarcastically, as she took a step back from him to put some distance between them.
Isaac rolled his eyes at her answer then reached out to grab her arm again, but she moved it aside before he could causing him to quietly growl in frustration.
"You're not suppose to be here. We talked about this." Isaac snapped, as he took a step toward her.
"No you talked, but I'm not listening." Teagan said back, then added as she folded her arms across her chest, "That's what happens when you dump someone, they stop listening."
"Teagan..."
"No, I'm serious Isaac, you're not going to make me leave. I'm staying." Teagan said interrupting him.
She saw Avery over his shoulder, waving her over then she looked back at him and said, "Look usually when a couple breaks up, they have nothing to do with each other, so what do you say that is what we start doing and you just leave me alone."
Isaac looked at her with a pained expression on his face. This isn't what he wanted. He didn't want to leave her alone and lose her from his life, all he wanted was to protect her.
He was just trying to do the right thing, but if that is what she wanted, to be left alone, then that is what he would try to do.
"It's hard to get over you if you're always around." She added softly.
The two looked at each other for a moment, like they were trying to memorize what each other look like, before she finally turned around and made her way over toward Avery.
"Hey, you ok?" Avery asked her, as soon as she walked up to her. She saw her and Isaac talking and could tell it wasn't a pleasant conversation.
"Not really but I don't have time to fall apart right now." Teagan answered quietly, then added as she glanced around, "Where's Scott?"
"Hunters are here." Avery answered.
"No." Teagan breathed out quietly. She knew what that meant. They were here to kill Jackson. "But what about our plan?" She added, nervously.
"The plan is still on. Scott is going to try to keep the hunters out so they don't interfere with our plan." Avery explained. She held up the syringe full of ketamine then said, "Which means we have to stop Jackson."
Teagan nodded then asked,"Ok, what do you need me to do?"
Avery turned Teagan around and pointed toward where Jackson was, in the middle of the dance floor as he walked through the crowd heading for they would assume the latest target. She slapped Teagan's butt then called out,"It's time to shake your moneymaker."
Teagan took a deep breath, trying to keep he nerves at bay, as she began to walk over toward Jackson. She stepped in front of him and loosely wrapped her arms around his neck as she began to move her hips from side to side with the music.
She gasped in surprise when he laid a hand on her back and pulled her against him as he begin to dance with her. She nervously bit her bottom lip as she looked up at him and intertwined her fingers in his hair. Even though he was looking back at her like he use to she still felt a chill down her spine when she realized it didn't even look like the Jackson she knew.
He showed no emotion, like he was in a daze and going through the motions, which is something he definitely didn't do back when they used to dance. It was like he was there physically but it wasn't really him.
She shook her head trying not to get distracted and stay on task with the plan. When she saw Avery walking up behind him, she shot Jackson a teasing smile as she leaned forward like she was going to kiss him.
Her lips were inches from his when she pulled back, a smile still on her lips, as she glanced behind him to see Avery dancing with them. As Avery raised her hand that was holding the syringe, Teagan leaned forward again to distract Jackson as she left light kisses on his jawline but kept her eyes on Avery as she watched her get the syringe closer and closer to his neck.
Avery was inches away from sticking him with it when he suddenly spun around and lashed out, knocking Avery down to the hard ground and knocked the syringe from her hand. She bit her bottom lip to keep from crying out in pain as she grabbed her elbow which she had landed on when she fell.
She looked up with wide eyes with she saw Jackson holding Teagan by her throat with his claws out. While holding her hurt elbow, she tried to stand up, wanting to help her best friend, until she lost her balance when someone accidentally bumped into her and caused her to fall back on to her butt.
Teagan closed her eyes as it become harder and harder to breathe. She reached up, trying to scratch at the hand that was around her throat, hoping he would release her but it only made him squeeze harder.
She snapped her eyes open to look at him as she tried to choked out his name, hoping to get through to him as a last resort. She felt tears fill her eyes when even that didn't work and for a moment she honestly thought she was going to die.
A lone tear fell down her face and landed on the hand that was wrapped around her throat at the same time he locked eyes with her. He gasped in surprise, as if coming out of a trance and saw what he was doing to her. He quickly pulled his hand away and watched her fall to the floor as she took several deep breaths, trying to catch her breath.
Once her breathing was back to normal, she glanced up to look at him but just like that Jackson was gone and he was back in a trance-like state again. Without a word to either girl he began to walk away, heading toward the person he was sent to kill.
Teagan scooted over toward Avery to check on her then after Avery nodded her head, letting her know she was fine, she saw movement from the corner of her eye and saw Isaac pushing through the crowd trying to get to her. He had seen everything go down from the other side of the room but couldn't get to them fast enough to help, making him feel helpless as he watched Jackson almost choke her to death.
Teagan turned her head to look at Jackson, seeing they still had time to stop him if they hurried then she turned back to look at Isaac as she shook her head, telling him not to come to her, to go after Jackson as she reached out and kicked the syringe over toward him. He looked at her with a pained expression, wanting to go to her more than anything, but like her, he knew Jackson needed to be stopped before he killed someone else.
As the syringe stopped in front of him, he leaned down to pick it up from the floor then looked over at where Jackson was. He clinched his jaw in anger, as the image of Jackson choking Teagan crossed his mind. He took off after Jackson, coming up behind him and stuck the syringe against his neck, shooting him full of ketamine.
The two girls breathed out a sigh of relief when they saw Jackson fall back against Isaac as he begin to drag Jackson through the crowd to keep him somewhere safe and quiet until Stiles was done spreading the mountain ash around the building.
Teagan looked over beside her as she and Avery smiled at each other, happy to see the first part of the plan had worked, now they just had to hope the mountain ash trapped the master of the kanima so they could save Jackson.
