It's My Party… - Chapter 64

~A Teen Wolf fan-fiction collaboration between Miss E Charlotte and Sage Londyn~

Later that night, Teagan stepped out of her car and looked up at Lydia's house with a worried expression on her face. She hoped nothing bad happened; they all needed one normal night where nothing went wrong.

All she wanted to do was hang out with her friends, wish Lydia a happy birthday and eat cake. With the way things had been lately she needed cake and lots of it. Maybe even a strong drink or two as well.

Bottom line, she wanted a regular night of fun that had nothing to do with anything supernatural. Was that too much to ask for?

She was so lost in thought she didn't hear anyone walk over toward her until she heard Allison call out of her name. The two girls hugged then made small talk as they walked up to the house together.

Teagan reached out to ring the door bell then stood back beside Allison as they waited for the door to open. They didn't have long to wait when Lydia open the door with a big smile on her face.

She rushed forward to hug her two friends and ushered them inside the house. The three girls went out back to chat for a few minutes until the door bell rang again. Lydia excused herself to go answer the door. Her eyes widen in surprise when she was met with a huge wrapped box.

"Happy Birthday!" Avery and Stiles called out, as Stiles held up the big box he was holding.

As Lydia looked at the huge package with raised eyebrows, Avery walked into the house and said, "Don't ask. It was Stiles' idea, all I did was help wrap it."

"Hey uh, A-Avery can you uh, help ... " Stiles begin to say, as he tried to push the big box in with no luck.

"A little help here please." He called out when he realized neither girl was paying him any attention as they quietly talked to each other. "Just grab a corner and pull." He added, as he pushed against the box again then yelled out when the box finally went through the doorway and he fell to the floor.

"Oh my God, Stiles, are you ok?" Avery asked with a laugh, as she rushed to his side to help him up.

Lydia shook her head as she watched the two for a moment, she hated to admit but they were actually cute together.

"Don't forget to try the punch." She called out, as she left the couple alone when Avery leaned down to kiss him.

Lydia grabbed a tray of drinks then walked toward Allison and Teagan, handing them both a cup full of punch before walking off to get more cups. Teagan took a few sips as Avery walked over to them while Stiles went to go find Scott who had arrived earlier.

"You two look so adorable tonight." Avery said to the two girls as she stood before them, "I really love that dress T, is it new?"

"Actually it is." Teagan said, as she looked down at the purple dress she was wearing, then added, "Lydia picked it out for my today while we were shopping."

"How how shopping with Lydia?" Allison asked.

"Surprisingly it was a lot of fun." Teagan said, then added, "I was worried after all the Jackson stuff things would never be the same between us but it actually felt like old times."

"That's great." Allison said with a smile.

"Speaking of Jackson... he's not coming tonight is he? Do we know if Lydia invited him?" Avery asked.

"I had asked her that and she did, but I went and talked to him ... "

"Alone?" Avery asked surprised, then added, "What the hell were you thinking Teagan?"

"I was thinking someone needed to talk to him before he showed up and Lydia's birthday turn into a bloody mess and there wasn't enough time to call for backup so I just had to wing it." Teagan explained.

"Nothing happened though right?" Avery asked with a worried expression.

"No. He said he planned to stay home, but warned me to be careful in case something did happen." Teagan answered.

"Like what?" Allison asked.

Teagan shrugged her shoulders then said, "He wouldn't say. I guess we just have to hope he doesn't show up."

The other two girls nodded their heads in agreement then Allison walked off to talk to Lydia, leaving the two friends alone. The two girls glanced around the big empty house and wondered when everyone else was going to show up.

As Avery continued to look around, Teagan looked back at her friend and saw a bandage on her wrist, the wrist that Kate had sliced open that terrible night. Teagan gasped and grabbed Avery's arm as she called out, "Oh my God, A, what happened?"

"What?" Avery asked confused for a moment why she seemed worried until she realized what she was talking about. "Oh that. It's ok, nothing happened. I got a tattoo. See." She added, as she pulled the bandage off to show Teagan her new tattoo.

Teagan looked down at her wrist seeing the new ink over her scars. She nodded her head then said, "That looks pretty cool. What made you decide to do that?"

"I've been thinking of getting a new one for a while but I didn't want to get the old one again and just cover up everything that happened. So Stiles kind of gave me the idea and we went tonight to get it." Avery explained.

"Now when you look at it instead of thinking of the bad, you can think of Stiles." Teagan said with a smile.

"Exactly." Avery said back with a smile of her own.

"Hmm, maybe I should get something to remind me of the good in life, seems like all that has happened lately is bad." Teagan said with a frown. She quickly shook her head, not wanting to think of the bad now, tonight was a night to be normal.

"Sorry I didn't mean to bring the mood down." Teagan added softly.

"Don't worry about it, besides things will get better." Avery said, hoping she was right.

"But I totally think you should get a tattoo." She added with a smile.

"Maybe I will." Teagan said back with a smile of her own.

"But the big question is, what would you get?" Avery asked.

"Hm... that is a good question." Teagan said, as she thought about it but before she could think any further about it Stiles, Scott and Allison walked over to them.

Stiles handed Avery a cup full of punch as he took a big swallow from his cup. The rest of the group drank from their cups as Stiles explained to them what he and Avery discovered earlier.

After looking in old yearbooks they discovered that all the victims were on the 2006 swim team which was coached by Mr. Lahey, making them think whoever was the kanima master was someone who had a problem with the swim team. Which still didn't tell them who the master was, but at least they were getting closer to figuring it out.

"So what time is this party supposed to start?" Avery wondered out loud, as she glanced around the empty back yard.

"Now." Teagan answered, as she glanced down at the small watch on her wrist that use to belong to her mother.

"Where is everybody then?" Avery asked.

"I don't think they are coming." Scott said.

"We need to do something." Allison said, as they all glanced over to look at Lydia, who was standing by the punch bowl.

"I agree. We're been terrible friends to her lately and have pretty much been ignoring her for weeks." Teagan said in agreement.

"I guess I can use my pull as co-captain to get the team here." Scott suggested.

"I know some people to call who really know how to party." Avery said smiling, as the rest of the group looked at her with a confused expressions on their faces.

~()~

Several minutes later the party was in full swing after Scott called the team and Avery called some of her friends from the club 'Jungle' that she and Danny went to often.

Teagan stood off to the side as she drank another cup full of punch and watched all the party goers having a good time. She softly smiled when she saw Avery and Stiles dancing together. As happy as she was for them, she couldn't help but feel a little jealous and lonely.

She wished Isaac was there. She wished they could just be together and be happy like before, before things got so crazy and out of control.

She took another sip of her drink then glanced off to the side of the house with a sigh until she saw something that made her gasp in surprise. She saw Jackson standing off to the side as if he was in a daze while he stared at someone in the crowd but she couldn't tell who he was looking at. Then he looked over at her with reptilian eyes before turning around and walking away from the party and out into the woods at the back of Lydia's house.

Teagan lowered her eyebrows in confusion, wondering where he was going. She looked back over at Avery, thinking about calling to her for backup but when she saw how much fun she was having with Stiles, she didn't want to interrupt them but she knew someone needed to follow Jackson.

She tapped her foot for a moment as she tried to get up the nerve to go after him alone. She had a very bad feeling but she knew it had to be done.

She took a deep breath then before she could change her mind she begin to walk toward the area she saw him disappear too. She walked out into the dark woods then paused for a moment as she glanced around to look for him, her heart beating wildly in her chest.

After not seeing him, she turned around to go back to the party until she saw Jackson standing in front of her, half of his face was in kanima form. She softly said his name, hoping to get through to him. He took a step toward her, causing her to back up until her back slammed into a tree.

He glanced down at her chest when he heard her heart racing in fear then he glanced up to look into her eyes with his head cocked to the side as he stared at her like he was trying hard to remember her.

Teagan softly smiled as she called out his name again, assuming she was reaching out to him, then said, "Jackson it's me, Teagan. I can save you, just stay with me."

"Stay with me Jackson. Ok, just stay with me. I can help you." She added.

Jackson slowly nodded his head, causing her to breathe out a sigh of relief, thinking she had saved him until he lifted his hand and wrapped it around her throat, taking her by surprise.

"J-Jackson... stop... p-please." Teagan choked out.

"You can't save him. I am his master." Jackson hissed out in a foreign voice. He tightened his grip on her neck as he added, "Jackson belongs to me."

Teagan squeezed her eyes shut and felt tears rolling down her face as it became harder to breathe. She honestly thought she was going to die until she heard a growl and felt Jackson being pulled away from her causing her to fall to the ground, gasping for breath.

Once her breathing was back to normal she glanced up and gasp in surprise when she saw it was Isaac who came to her rescue. She saw the two fighting and for a moment it looked like Isaac had the upper hand until Jackson, who was in full kanima form now, raised one of his hands and swiped his claws across Isaac's throat causing him to fall down to his knees.

Teagan tried to stand up to rush to his side but slipped on a pile of wet leaves causing her to fall back to the ground with a hard thud. She saw the cut on Isaac's neck begin to heal, making her think that for a moment things would be ok, until Jackson stab him in the stomach with his claws.

Teagan screamed out for him to stop as she watched blood pour out of Isaac's mouth. His eyes locked with hers for a moment and she could swear she could read his mind as he apologized for failing her.

More tears fell from her eyes as she whispered out she loved him. She had never said those words to him before but in that moment she knew that was the way she felt. She was completely 100% in love with him.

As Isaac shut his eyes and fell to the ground, Teagan let out a sob at watching him die right before her eyes. She wanted to crawl over to him, wanting to be close to him one last time, but before she could make a move Jackson looked over at her then begin to walk over toward her.

She gasped and tried to stand up again but kept falling as she crawled backwards and tried to get away from him. He reached out and grab a hand full of her hair to pull her up to her feet. She cried out in pain and yelled out his name, but there was no reaching out to him this time.

She looked into his eyes and realized the Jackson she knew was gone. His reptilian eyes was the last thing she saw before he snapped her neck and everything went black.

Avery drank the last of her glass of punch she wasn't even sure how many glasses she'd drank. It seemed like every time she finished a glass Lydia was there pushing another one into her hand.

Stiles had left to talk to Scott a little while before and he hadn't come back yet. Her gaze kept traveling over to the gate leading to the woods behind Lydia's house.

Her breath caught in her throat as she saw the back of a woman disappear into the woods, she could have sworn it looked like Kate Argent.

She looked around for someone to go with her but she didn't see any of her close friends so she decided to go alone.

"Hey!" Avery screamed at the woman still walking away from her.

Once they were a little deeper into the woods the woman turned around.

"No… no it's not possible. You're supposed to be dead." Avery said, tears immediately running down her face.

Kate looked down at herself.

"I look pretty good for being dead, huh?" She retorted.

Avery couldn't speak as more tears ran down her cheeks.

"Wow, sweetie… that looks bad." Kate said as she nodded to Avery's wrist.

Looking down Avery gasped as she saw the new tattoo was gone and her wrist was bleeding.

Kate started to walk towards her, and Avery wanted to turn and run away. But her feet wouldn't move.

"Help!" Avery cried, her voice cracked as she screamed.

"Look around, who do you think is going to hear you?" Kate asked stopping close to the frightened teenager.

"Help! Somebody… please!" Avery shrieked.

"It's go time." Kate said with a wink as she smirked and put an arm around the teenagers shoulders leading her deeper into the woods.

"Please, don't do this." Avery sobbed her entire body shaking from fear.

Avery wiped her eyes and looked up when she heard a deep growl.

Derek was gagged and tied to a tree.

"No…" Avery breathed out as she watched him struggling trying to break free and get over to her.

"Let him go… please, I'll do anything." Avery pleaded.

"Anything?" Kate asked with raised eyebrows.

"Anything." Avery agreed as she wiped her eyes again.

"Alright, you heard her… kill the other one." Kate said.

"What?" Avery asked as she looked over to see a man tying Stiles to another tree, he was also gagged.

Her eyes locked with his and she could feel his fear.

"No! Don't!" Avery shouted as loud as she could when the man put a knife to Stiles' throat.

"I thought you'd do anything to save Derek?" Kate asked, a sinister smile spreading over her lips.

"What's wrong with you?" she cried as she wrapped her arms around herself, her entire body shaking from fear and the cold air.

"I'm not unreasonable." Kate said.

"You're a crazy bitch!" Avery shrieked as she looked between Derek and Stiles.

"Is that any way to talk to me when I'm about to make you such a generous offer?" Kate questioned.

"What offer?" she managed to ask as she applied pressure to her bleeding wrist.

She cried out in pain as her entire arm felt like acid had been poured on it.

Both Stiles and Derek fought against their restraints trying to get to her.

"I'll let you pick… but you can only choose one." Kate said as she stood behind her and held onto her shoulders.

"Pick one for what?" She asked confused as her eyes met Derek's.

"To live." Kate answered.

Avery gasped.

"But only one…." Kate said.

"I… I can't do that." Avery sobbed as she looked around hoping to see someone who could help her.

But there was no one in the woods but them.

"Wh…What are you doing to him?" Avery yelled as she watched as they wrapped a noose around Derek's neck.

"Either you pick… or they both die." Kate said as her helpers suspended Derek from the tree by his neck.

Avery looked back to Stiles and then to where Derek was.

"You… you can't do this!" she screamed as she looked helpless between the two guys who meant the most to her.

"Tick-tock… the deal is passing you by. Pick one, now!" Kate screamed.

Avery looked between them again she couldn't stand the thought of losing either of them.

Violently shaking her head back and forth she barely choked out, "Please let them go."

"Times up." Kate said as she pointed a gun to Stiles and shot him between the eyes.

"No!" Avery shrieked, but it was too late.

He was dead.

She turned around just in time to see another one of Kate's helpers swing a large sword to cut Derek in half.

Covering her face with her hands she fell to the ground, gasping for air as she cried harder than she had in her entire life.

Her fingers dug into the cold grass as she fought desperately to get a breath.

"Get up." Kate said as she pulled Avery up by her hair.

Just then she was hit in the face with cold water.

Swinging her arms she tried to hit Kate, who she thought was throwing water on her.

"Hold her arms!" She heard someone yell, and then a warm pair of hands gently held onto her wrists.

"Stop it!" Avery sobbed.

"Hey, hey, hey. You're okay, it's me." She could hear Stiles say.

"Stiles?" She gasped as she opened her eyes to see he was the one holding her, and Scott had emptied a few bottles of water on her trying to sober her up.

Jumping forward she grabbed Stiles' face and pressed a passionate kiss to his lips.

Pulling back she hugged him and tried to stop her tears and tell herself the vision wasn't real, but it still felt like she'd lost both Derek and Stiles.

Scott left the couple alone and Stiles continued to hold her until her tears stopped.

"What did you see?" Stiles asked her, his voice soft as he rubbed a hand over her back and held her against him.

"I… I can't talk about it." She said, her voice hoarse.

"It's okay." He said again.

Just then they heard another scream from deeper into the woods.

"Looks like you're not the only one who stumbled out here." Stiles said.

"That's… that's Teagan." Avery yelled.

"We need to get more water." Stiles urged as he grabbed her hand and they ran back to the part to get water before heading into the words in search of their friend.

~()~

Teagan gasped in surprise and snapped her eyes open when something wet hit her face. She jumped back, her back slamming against a tree, as she screamed out when she saw two people standing above her, she calmed down for a moment when she realized it was Avery and Stiles.

She began to glance around and realized she was sitting on the ground, still in the middle of the woods behind Lydia's house. The memory of Isaac being killed hit her and she instantly begin to look for him as she sat up on her knees and begin to crawl around.

"Teagan? What are you doing?" Avery asked.

"Isaac. He's... He's dead." Teagan cried.

"What? Teagan, Isaac isn't here." Avery said, as she sank down to her knees in front of a frantic Teagan.

"Yes he is! He was right here!" Teagan cried out, as she slapped the ground where she saw him fall, "He was right here and I s-saw Jackson kill him."

"I thought you said water would work." Avery said, as she looked up at Stiles as Teagan continued to freak out.

"It should have. Maybe I didn't use enough." Stiles suggested, then told her he would be right back as he went to get more.

"Teagan... Teagan!" Avery called out, as she grabbed her by the shoulders to shake her once she started crying about Isaac being dead.

"I love him, Avery. I love him and he's dead." Teagan cried out.

Avery's eyes widen at her words, she had a feeling Teagan was falling for him but this was the first time she had said it out loud. She placed her hands on Teagan's shoulders, shaking her as she yelled out her name, trying to get through to her.

"Teagan! Isaac isn't here, he's ok. I promise." Avery called out.

"What?" Teagan asked confused.

Avery opened her mouth to explain what was going on. That something in the punch was making everyone hallucinate, but before she could say a word, Stiles ran back up and threw a big cup full of water in Teagan's face.

Teagan gasped in surprise as she looked up at Stiles with a shocked look on her face.

"What the hell was that for?" Teagan called out, as she wiped the water from her face.

"I was just trying to help." Stiles yelled back.

"By drowning me?" Teagan asked.

"I'm sorry!" Stiles called out, as he threw his arms out.

Avery chuckled at her boyfriend then looked over at Teagan as she said, "I'm sorry we had to do that but it's the only way to get through to you."

"What the hell is going on?" Teagan asked with a worried expression, "Everything seemed so real."

"Apparently there is something in the punch making everyone go crazy." Avery explained.

Teagan opened her mouth to ask more, she had a millions questions running through her head, but before she could say a word they heard someone yelling back toward the party. The three teens ran back toward the crowd and saw a group of guys throwing Matt into the pool. He splashed around as he yelled about not knowing how to swim.

Scott ran over to them as they all watched unsure what to do, the girls went to take a step toward the pool to help when Stiles grab their arms to stop them. They all watched in surprise as Jackson walked over to the pool and pulled Matt out. Teagan felt a chill down her spine when she saw Jackson as she remembered her hallucination from earlier.

Jackson stood beside Matt as he yelled at everyone, asking them what they were looking at. If looks could kill, every single one of them would be dead right now.

As Matt went to walk away, he stopped in front of Avery, Teagan, Scott and Stiles, staring at all four of them. Avery reached out and grabbed Teagan and Stiles hands as the held on to them while Scott took a step forward as if to show he was willing to protect them all if he had to. Matt gave them a dirty look before he walked past them as a police siren went off.

Scott watched Matt walk away, feeling the need to follow him as everyone began to run toward their cars as the police got closer. He went to take a step as Stiles grab his arm and asked him where he was going. Scott told Stiles they needed to leave and he would meet them at his house, before he ran off to follow Matt.

"Where is he going?" Avery asked.

"I don't know, but we got to go." Stiles said, as he began to ran toward the front of the house where he was parked, pulling Avery and Teagan with him.

"Where are we going?" Teagan asked, confused.

"My house. Meet us at my house." Stiles called out, as he opened the passenger door of his Jeep for Avery to sit down.

Teagan nodded her head then ran over to her car, which thankfully wasn't parked that far away, as the group of teens went to Stiles' house, all of them having a pretty good idea who the kanima master was.
