Harry Potter and Pucca

The wizard of Sooga

For this story, we're going to pretend that everyone's the same age.

A young Harry looked left and right, he then turned around, but he could not find his relatives. He remembered what his teacher told his class to do if one of them ever got lost, they were meant to stay where they were and wait to be found, so Harry sat down on a nearby bench and waited…and waited…and waited…

It was almost dark and there were barely any people around when Harry realised the crushing truth, he had been abandoned by his relatives, they weren't coming back for him. Harry's eyes filled with tears as he started crying, but as usual, no one noticed him there crying and on his own.

A man dressed in red then came skipping down the street with a bag in his hand.

"Ho, ho, ho. Ho, ho, ho. Ho, ho, ho, ho, ho." He sang to a Christmas tune as he went.

The man came to an abrupt stop when he heard the crying of a child, it didn't take long for him to spot Harry.

"Oh, dear." The man said.

The man went over to Harry and crouched in front of him.

"Hello there, little boy, what are you doing here? Where are your parents?" he asked kindly.

Harry only cried that much harder.

The man sat down on the bench and brought Harry onto his lap.

"There, there, tell Santa what is wrong."

Harry stopped crying and looked at the man claiming to be Santa with wonder.

"You're Santa." He asked in awe.

"Of course I am." Santa said. "Who else do you know who wears red and has a beard?"

Harry shrugged.

"Now, why are you here all alone?" Santa asked again.

"My-my a-aunt and uncle l-left me." Harry struggled to speak as he started crying again.

Santa hugged Harry and allowed him to cry on his shoulder, one he had calmed down Santa handed Harry a cookie.

"For me?" Harry asked in disbelief.

"I'm giving it to you, aren't I." Santa said with a smile.

"But, no one's ever given me something without a reason."

"I think cheering you up is a good enough reason."

"But, you're only meant to give to good children."

"You look like a very good boy to me. And trust me, I know whose naughty and whose nice."

"I'm not nice, I'm a…" Harry said the last part so quietly that Santa didn't hear it.

"A what?" Santa asked gently.

"A freak." Harry said quietly.

"What?" Santa exclaimed, shocked that any child would have such a mentality.

Santa quickly calmed down when he saw how his outburst had affected Harry, the boy was curled in on himself and tense as if he was expecting something bad to happen. He patted the boys back to relax him, eventually Harry fell asleep in his arms.

"You're coming home with me." Santa finally decided.

Santa picked the boy up in his arms and continued on his way back to his sleigh, once there he placed Harry in the back seat before climbing in himself and snapping at the reigns, the reindeer quickly took off as they went home to Sooga.

(6 years later)

It was a normal day in Sooga, the village folk were going about their daily routines, the chiefs were making noodles in the restaurant, and…

"Ahhh!"

Everyone quickly stepped out of the way of a boy dressed in black as he ran, behind him a girl dressed in red and black charged after him with love hearts floating around her. Pucca was chasing Garu as usual.

Garu cried out as Pucca managed to pounce on him and start assaulting him with kisses.

Not far away, in a treehouse next to Santa's home, a boy stood in front of a large caldron and was adding ingredients to it. Messy black hair stuck out from underneath a large dark-blue wizard hat, glasses were perched on his nose, he wore a matching dark-blue cape with silver swirls patterned on it, the rest of his clothes consisted of a normal black shirt and trousers that were separated by a belt carrying many potion supplies and a spell book. Not far from him a raven sat on a perch, watching the boy make his potion.

"Not too little, not too much." He said to himself, carefully pouring drops of liquid into the caldron.

But life in Sooga village wasn't complete without a little chaos each day. Garu got free of Pucca and bounced of the treehouse to escape, Pucca followed him and with her advanced strength she accidently caused the treehouse to shake.

The boy cried out as the shaking caused the entire bottle of what he was pouring to fall into the caldron.

"Oh, dear." He whimpered as the potion in the caldron turned a nasty red and bubbled violently.

The explosion blew the roof off of the treehouse and ten-story high mushroom cloud followed, once the explosion finished the roof dropped back into place.

In most other places the explosion would have caused significant damage and loss of life, but this was Sooga, where everyone could give the middle finger to not only the laws of physics, but the laws of reality itself. So, the boy and bird at the centre of the explosion was only covered in black soot from the explosion rather than being hurt in any way.

The boy coughed and removed his glassed, revealing two spots around his eyes where the glasses blocked the soot, he then cleaned his glasses and put them back on. The raven, for some reason, was completely untouched by the explosion.

"Harry, are you alright?" Ching asked as she and Abyo came through his door.

"Fine." Harry answered. "But my potion is ruined. Something rocking the house caused me to add way too much fire flower extract."

"What was it supposed to be?" Abyo asked.

Harry shrugged. "I don't know. The description of what the potion is was faded on the page I found."

Harry's raven hopped from its perch and showed the two an old and partly faded scroll with potion instruction.

Harry then looked around his trashed treehouse, he shrugged and then gave a to fingered whistle, a small group of pink and blue goblins appeared and began to fix the place up.

"Let go for some noodles." He said as the friends left.

At the Goh-Rong Harry, Ching and Abyo sat at a table. Dada quickly delivered them each a bowl of Za-Jiang noodles as well as a special bowl of noodles for Harry's raven, Diego.

As the friends ate Pucca entered, dragging Garu behind her, she dropped him into a spare seat and sat next to him, Garu groaned and rolled his eyes but didn't try to escape. Pretty soon the two were eating noodles along with their friends.

"Oh!" Harry suddenly perked up. "I think I remember something about that potion. Something about bestowing power, or something like that, to the drinker."

"Power?" Abyo exclaimed. "You have to make it for me!"

"Uh…" Harry looked unsure.

"Come on! You have to! You have to! Hi-Ya!"

Abyo ripped his shirt off.

No one even blinked an eye at this.

"Abyo. I can't be sure that's what it said, and I can't be sure if it would be safe to drink, and that depends on if I could make it in the first place." Harry said.

"Oh. Hi-ya." Abyo said sadly.

Harry rolled his eyes.

"Well," he said once he finished his noodles. "I better get back to my house. I need to make a list of what I need to restock after what happened earlier."

Harry gave a pointed took at Garu and Pucca, the two had the decency to look embarrassed for their actions and apologised as best they could since neither of them spoke.

When the group of friends arrived back at Harry's treehouse they found an envelope made out of parchment and sealed with wax waiting for him in his mailbox. On the front of the envelope it read:

Mr H Potter

Treehouse

Sooga village

Sooga

"Finally." Harry said as he opened the letter. "I was wondering when this would arrive"

"What is it?" Ching asked.

"My Hogwarts letter." Harry answered as he read the contents. "There's only so much I can learn from Master Soo, so I'll be heading off to a magic school this Fall."

"What! Why haven't you said anything about this before?" Abyo demanded.

Harry looked at him with a deadpan expression.

"I have." He said. "Like, a hundred times already."

"Oh, yeah." Abyo suddenly remembered some of the times Harry had mentioned Hogwarts but he's been too busy pulling off Kung-Fu moves to take notice.

"Where is Hogwarts?" Ching asked.

"In Scotland." Harry answered.

"Wow, that's pretty far away."

"Yeah, and it's a boarding school, so I'll be staying there apart from during holidays."

Pucca whined and latched onto Harry with a sad look on her face.

"Pucca's right, that's going to be a long time without seeing you." Ching said. "Isn't there anywhere closer you can go?"

Harry shook his head. "Apparently, my names been down on the roster since I was born."

Everyone look downcast.

"Hang on!" Harry suddenly exclaimed. "Maybe Master Soo can give you magic, that way you can go to Hogwarts with me."

"Cool, I've always wanted to be able to cast spells." Ching said.

Garu smiled and nodded.

"Let's go then."

"I don't think that would be a good idea." Master Soo told the children in front of him.

"Oh, come on, Master Soo." Harry pleaded. "It'd just wouldn't be the same without my friends at Hogwarts with me."

"Harry, to give magic to none magic users could bring about grave consequences."

"Master Soo, any 'grave consequences' we've experienced in the past usually clear up by the next day."

"True, but I still don't feel like going through the short term."

Harry sighed and then shook his head, signalling to his friends.

"I didn't want to have to do this, but you leave us no choice." He said.

Master Soo was suddenly assaulted with puppy-dog looks from all five children, light shone off them from their combined cuteness.

"Oy!" Master Soo cried out, trying to shield his eyes.

"Please." Harry, Ching and Abyo begged in voices that suited their faces.

Master Soo tried so hard to resist, but in the end he was no match for the combined power of all five of them.

"Fine." He finally gave up.

"Yay!" the children celebrated.

Master Soo spun his staff around a few times before aiming it at the children. "Foosh!" he shouted his magic word.

Pucca, Garu, Ching and Abyo were lifted off the ground by a magic glow that was then absorbed into them, they were then lowered to the group.

Abyo looked over himself. "I don't feel any different." He said with a shrug.

Abyo suddenly sneezed and a nearby vase shattered.

"Cool!" he exclaimed.

The five friends then left to go home.

"Oy." Master Soo said once he was alone. "Why do I get the feeling I'm going to come to regret this."

By the end of the day Pucca, Garu, Ching and Abyo all also received their Hogwarts letters.

On the first of September the five friends arrived at Kings Cross station on platform 9¾, along with Luigi, Ho, Uncle Dumpling, Bruce, Chang and Santa. Santa got many funny looks due to it not being even close to Christmas. The five children had all their school stuff from going to Diagon alley a few days earlier, including their new wands, they were also taking their pets with them, Garu had Mio, Pucca had Yani, Ching had Won, and Harry had Diego; Abyo had bought an owl for himself but the animal had quickly flown away in concern for its own safety.

"Look at You." Luigi said proudly to Pucca. "Our little girl is all grown up."

"I feel so proud." Ho agreed.

"I only regret that we won't be able to see you as often. You better write at least once a week." Uncle Dumpling looked like he wanted to cry.

Pucca grinned at them and gave all three a bone-crushing hug.

Chang was hugging Ching tightly while openly crying, she looked embarrassed at all the people watching the public display of affection.

"Son, you better behave, I don't want a letter home about the damage you've caused. Over." Bruce told Abyo.

"Dad." Abyo gave a long groan. "I won't."

"I hope so. Over. But, I'm still going to miss you. Over and out."

Bruce placed a proud hand on Abyo's shoulder.

"Now, Harry." Santa told his adopted son. "You'd better be a good boy this year. I don't want to have to give you coal. And listen to your teachers."

"Yes dad." Harry said, refraining from rolling his eyes.

Garu didn't seem to mind that he had no one at the station to see him off.

The five children climbed aboard the train and found an empty compartment to stay in, not long after the train whistled as it started to leave the station and the children waved back at their families through the window until they were no longer in sight.

"I'm so excited." Ching said as she sat down.

"Uh-hu." Pucca agreed.

The door to the compartment slid open and a red-haired boy popped his head in, when he saw there was already four five people in the compartment he muttered an apology and left. The five friends shrugged the encounter off and went back to occupying themselves for the long trip.

A while later a smiling, dimpled woman slid open their door and said, "Anything off the cart, dears?"

The children had been given some money for sweets so they quickly jumped to their feet and went over to the cart, everything there was alien to them so between them they bought a little bit of each. It was fun trying out each of the different kinds of wizard sweets, some were just sweets they already knew but with a magical twist such as the chocolate frogs and liquorice wands, but some were also strange like the blood pops, pumpkin pasties and jelly beans that were flavoured anywhere from grass to earwax.

"Yuck!" Ching cried in disgust, spitting out a foul tasting jelly bean. "What person in their right mind would make sweets that intentionally taste bad?"

"I guess it's fun for people to dare?" Harry guessed, looking at Abyo and Garu who were doing just that.

The other two boys were daring each other to eat certain beans. Garu picked up a green one and popped it in his mouth and chewed, he quickly went green and threw his hands other his mouth to stop himself from being sick before managing to swallow the bean. He then grinned in triumph and pointed at a brown bean for Abyo to eat.

Pucca was happily chewing on some gum, which had turned her mouth blue, and blowing bubble as big as she could without intruding on her friends' space.

(I'm making a huge skip in time in time now because I can't be bothered to write any of it out. Ron and Hermione are still Harry's friends.)

It was the summer after first year and Harry had invited his friends, Ron and Hermione, over to Sooga to visit.

"It's very nice and simplistic." Hermione said as they walked down the street.

"Yeah, with how you lot act at Hogwarts, I expected this place to be a bit crazier." Ron said.

"Believe me, it does get crazy around here, but for everyone here it's the norm." Harry said. "The way things work around here is very different to everywhere else, sometimes even reality itself will change."

"What." Ron and Hermione questioned.

"You'll probably end up seeing what I mean. So why ruin the surprise?"

Hermione and Ron shrugged at each other.

"Ah, home sweet home." Harry said, stopping in front of his treehouse.

"You live here?" Ron asked.

"Yep."

"On your own?" Hermione asked.

"Don't worry, I can look after myself. And dad's next door anyway."

Harry pointed as Santa's Forever-Christmas themed home.

"So, your dad's really Santa?" Hermione asked.

"I found it hard to believe at first too, but he really does make and deliver presents."

"What does he do the rest of the time then?" Ron asked.

"He runs quite a few businesses around the village that pop up for a while."

What Harry failed to mention that was those businesses would pop up out of nowhere, not last more than a day, then disappear as if they were never there. So was the way of Sooga village.

"Come on." Harry went up the stairs to his home, motioning for his friends to follow.

After getting his friends settled in, and dragging Hermione away from his collection of books and magical artefacts, they went to the Goh-Rong for their dinner.

"Mm, these are delicious." Hermione said as she ate her noodles.

Ron was too busy eating to say anything.

"Just make sure you don't leave anything in the bowl." Harry warned. "The chiefs get a tiny bit upset if even one noodle is left unfinished."

"What?" Hermione asked, confused and worried.

"They see any unfinished meal as great shame on them, and that they must go on a journey to reclaim their honour any time it happens. Thankfully, they've learned not to take it personally if Garu or Pucca don't finish their food, what with Pucca chasing Garu and all."

"That's a bit of an overreaction." Ron said, finally coming up for air from his food.

"Maybe, but the chefs put a lot of honour in their cooking, a lot of stuff here is honour based and loss of that honour can cause a lot of problems. I've told you before, this island exists within its own logic. It took me a long time to get used to it myself."

After dinner, making sure that their bowls were clean, the friends left for Harry's treehouse to sleep.

Hermione was the first to wake up, she stepped out the door for a breath of fresh air to wake up. As she took in a deep breath she noticed something seemed off, she could smell the sea despite Harry's home being too far inland for her to be able to smell it, it was then that they fully opened her eyes and took in the sight before her.

"Harry, Ron, wake up!" Hermione ran inside and woke the boys.

"What?" Ron moaned, looking at his friend, he then did a double take. "Hermione, what are you wearing?"

Hermione was confused, she looked down and saw that she was wearing completely different clothes that what she went to bed in. She was wearing an old-fashioned style of dress with loose sleeves, a vest and fishnet tights.

"What?" she exclaimed.

Ron pulled his covers off and was quick to notice he too had changed clothes. A loose shirt, vest with large belt, rough trousers, and a bandanna around his head. And there were boots that weren't his at the foot of his bed.

"I see you've found the changes." Harry said, getting out of bed in similar clothes to Ron, just in a different style.

"What's going on, mate?" Ron asked.

"Why don't you go outside and see?" Harry suggested. "That's what Hermione woke us for."

The three went outside to see what Hermione had. The entirety of Sooga village had changed, it was right by the see and all of the building had changed to reflect an old-fashioned English sea-side town. Harry's treehouse was now a cabin that hung over the edge of a cliff with wooden beams supporting it, and the ladder now led down to a pier. And people were walking around in similar clothes to what the three friends were wearing.

"What the hell is going on?" Hermione burst out.

"I told you, even reality itself can change around here. The village can suddenly change into different genres or time periods."

"How can this happen? It's not possible."

"Don't know. No one except me ever noticed the change, and I just learned to go along with it."

"So…when are we? I guess." Ron stumbled with the appropriate question to ask.

"Hmm." Harry pondered.

Harry went to the village centre where a billboard stood and read the notices on it.

"No specific time period." Harry concluded. "Just pirate themed."

Harry pointed to some wanted notices that showed pirates on them.

"So, where are the others?" Ron asked.

"No idea. Let's check at whatever the Goh-Rong has become though." Harry suggested.

The Goh-Rong was now a pub that sold fish noodles, Pucca was there as a waitress while Ching and Abyo sat at tables eating, Abyo was wearing a neat red jacket with a sash across it and white trousers and a black hat, and Ching and Pucca wore pink and red dresses respectively.

"Hello, Harry." Abyo said.

"Hello, Abyo." Harry greeted back. "My friends here would like to know more about Garu." He asked about his missing friend.

"Ah." Abyo looked happy to tell a tale. "Captain Garu is the head of our Navy, we keep our village safe from pirates and makes sure the shipments of noodles always make it to the village."

As if his name summoned him, Garu walked in in the same clothes Abyo wore but with medals.

"Morning captain." Many people greeted Garu as he walked passed.

Pucca quickly spotted him and began her usual love-struck actions which eventually ended with Garu trying to run away.

The shenanigans were interrupted when Soso, in the same Navy uniform as Garu and Abyo, burst in through the doors.

"Captain Garu! Captain Garu! Muji and his band of Zompirates have been spotted coming this way!" Soso cried out.

Garu and Abyo stood up and rushed out the door, Pucca and Ching quick to follow.

"Come on." Said Harry, grabbing hold of his friends and following his other friends out. "We don't want to miss the action.

Ron and Hermione didn't even have time to object as they were dragged outside. They quickly made it to the peer where the others stood.

"It's a disaster, Captain Garu!" Soso cried out from where they stood in front of a large ship with a shrunken design on the sail. "The crew has come down with scurvy! How are we going to fend off Muji now?"

Garu quickly picked up a stack of Navy uniforms and gave one each to Pucca, Ching, Harry, Ron and Hermione.

"Come on, you've all been inducted." Soso told them, as he followed Garu and Abyo onto the ship.

"But, I don't know how to fight." Hermione protested as she and the others climbed on board.

"You will." Harry assured her.

The ship quickly set sail and everyone had changed into their new uniforms, even Won had a tiny hat on her head, and had swords at their sides.

"Oh, what can you do with a drunken ninja? What can you do with a drunken ninja? What can you do with a drunken ninja? Give him a bowl of noodles." Abyo sang as their sailed along.

"Harry, I'm not sure about this." Hermione told her friend.

"Yeah, I don't want to get hurt." Ron agreed.

"Don't worry." Harry assured them. "Fighting will come naturally, you're not going to get hurt, and we're going to win because good always triumphs over evil. That just how life here works."

"If only the rest of the world worked like that." Ron found himself saying.

"Ship ahoy!" Ching called down from the roost.

Garu took his eye glass and spotted Muji's ship through it, the ship looked like it had ben dredged up from the ocean floor and its torn tails displayed a skull and crossbones with a moustache.

The two ships traded cannon fire until they were close together, then Muji and his zombies swung across onto Garu's ship and the fight began, Abyo quick to tear off his shirt before he began fighting. Like Harry had told them, Hermione and Ron somehow knew how to fight and were able to use their swords to take on the zombies coming after them, in fact, both of them were enjoying themselves.

"How is this place possible." Hermione asked with a laugh, as she sliced the head off a zombie, causing the body to drop to the floor and try and find its head.

"I don't know, but I'm glad it does." Ron said, chasing a zombie with his sword.

Garu and Muji were going head to head, Muji tried to attack Garu with his moustache only for Garu to slice off the ends with his sword.

"My moustache!" Muji cried out mournfully, he then glared at Garu with hate. "You shall pay for this."

Muji started attacking Garu more viciously, eventually causing the captain to go other the edge of the boat.

"Ha! I win! Muji! Muji! Muji!" the pirate laughed.

Pucca had seen this and got furious, she then charged at Muji.

Muji saw Pucca coming at him.

"This is not good for Muji." He said before Pucca punched him.

Pucca's punch sent Muji high up into the air, he then came down and crashed through him boat, causing it to sink to the ocean floor along with him.

The rest of the crew quickly chased the zombies off the ship, who then swam away. A thoroughly soaked Garu managed to climb back on the ship, spitting up sea water and a fish as he did so, Pucca was quick to grab him and start kissing him.

"That as fun." Hermione admitted.

"Yep." Harry agreed. "And that's just when reality changes around here. Wait and see how life usually is here."

When the crew returned home they spent the rest of the day having fun before returning to bed, when they woke up the next day Sooga village had returned to normal as if the previous day's events never happened.
