Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail, only Amber and other characters I've created! Thanks Song of Hope for the lovely inspiration that you've given me! I think you guys will like this chapter more than the last one because I stuck in a small fight scene for y'all. And I've decided to ship more NaLu than NatsuXOC.
I hope I have some GrayXOC shippers in here -_-'
Alrighty, let's start the next chapter! I don't think I can keep you lovelies from this any longer~
I hate nightmares, especially when they tell you the future.
Yep, I'm dreaming again.
I'm in front of the five doors again with the interesting symbols. I walked toward my door, the one with the thunder symbol. I opened it, and it revealed a scene where blood splattered my vision and ice cut through it. Then there was a flash of thunder and lightning, and both the blood and ice were pushed back.
Ice and blood. This is going to be interesting.
The vision swirled, and before me was a beautiful halberd, lightning sizzling around it. I reached toward it, but it seemed as though some invisible force was pulling me back. Next thing I knew, the door slammed in front of me and I was pulled under the clouds and toward the earth. Fire engulfed me as I fell from the heavens, and I saw beautiful golden wings appear, then ripped from my back as I fell toward the ground. When I impacted, dirt and rubble flew up around me, and dust surrounded me. I looked down at myself and saw that I was in the body of a five year old.
I remember now. This is the day God sent me and four other angels to Earth to bring the Grim Reaper, Angel of Death, back home. Back to Heaven.
This is the day a human family found me and took me in. When, you know, ten years later these strange people come knocking on our door, kill my human parents, and kidnap me only to take me to this weird place and locked me up. I remembered the torture as visions flew past my vision.
I woke up with a start. I sat up and looked around me. Everyone is still here. No blood. Everyone is fine.
I sighed in relief. We've been on the road for a while. Ever since Magnolia was attacked, which was four days ago, we've been traveling to find these special weapons that Micheal showed me in a vision. The Gauntlets of Micheal. I wonder how they work Is it a concentrate and shove you hand to summon magic kind of thing? Or is it a just shove you hand and bright flashes and stuff will happen kind of thing?
I sighed again and looked at my friends. They are all sleeping so peacefully. I bet none of them, even Natsu, are having bad dreams right now. Everyone has my golden hand print somewhere on their bodies. They have all agreed about psychically linking each other so that we can communicate using our thoughts instead of voices.
I'm surprised they actually agreed.
I told them that the Reaper can enter my mind, but it only seems to happen while I'm asleep. That seemed to calm them down.
I'm lucky she choose to ignore me this time. She seems more like a demon rather than a fellow angel. Well, she is Death, so I guess she would be a bit more of a rebel than other angels.
Are angels rebels at all though?
Some would expect me to know all these answers since I'm an angel myself. But...what about wings? Don't angels have wings? Wait, in my dream they came off as I fell to Earth.
What's an angel without her wings?
I hugged my knees to my chest, suddenly very self conscious. If my wings weren't ripped off, would I be able to fly? The thought made me smile. What would it be like to fly?
I heard something stir nearby. I turned around in alarm. Gray slowly sat up in bed, rubbing his hands through his raven hair. He groaned as he stretched. I turned back around and started picking at my nails nervously. My cheeks are flushed red. I looked back. He's shirtless and stretching.
I turned my interest back to my fingernails. My eyes lingered over to Juvia, who is sound asleep. Oh, God, if she saw me blushing because of "her" Gray, she would beat me senseless. I'm not good enough with my magic to go one-on-one with somebody. I barely know how I did anything I did before.
"You're up?" Gray walked over, hands in his pants pockets. He sat down next to me.
"Uh, yeah, I've been awake for a while."
"Nightmare?"
"Yeah. I've been having nightmares for a while," I say, trying to avoid staring at his upper body. "Hey, can you do me a solid and put a shirt on?"
Gray looked down at his exposed skin and smirks. "Having problems are we?"
"Problems? No problems. I'm just slightly uncomfortable. You don't see me walking around half naked."
Gray almost burst up laughing. To avoid waking up the others, he contained his laughter and snickered. "Yeah. I know you were checking me out earlier. Don't think I didn't notice."
"I was not! I just turned around and you were waking up! I wasn't being a stalker!"
"Sure."
"Buttface."
"What was that?"
"Nothing," I mumbled. The sun is slowly coming up as I sat back. "The sun's so pretty. Can you imagine I crashed to the earth years ago from somewhere up there?"
"I can believe it."
I turned to him. "How?"
"Well, you have that heavenly look about you. Its kind of like anybody would assume that you're an actual angel. You know?"
"...Are you trying to avoid saying that I'm pretty?"
"No!"
"Liar. Now we both know who was really checking who out."
Gray glared at me as I smirked in triumph. "So..." he said in an attempt to change the subject, "what was your dream about?"
I stay silent for a while, thinking about what I should and shouldn't say to him. I decided on the entire truth. "Well, I saw me falling to earth ten years ago. I also saw this weapon. A halberd? I don't know. But it was beautiful. I can remember my dreams now. I think I actually prefer remembering than knowing nothing."
"That's cool. So no bad things?"
"Nope. Nothing." I thought back to everything bad that has happened. I remembered the attack on Magnolia. I remembered how Monoka and Onix hurt Natsu, and I remembered me purifying them. As I thought about it, I smelled something on the air. I took more testing whiffs.
I abruptly stood up.
"Woah, what's happening?" said Gray in surprise.
I took another whiff. Blood. And its heavy.
"I need to check something out," I say in a monotone voice. "Smell the air."
Gray sniffed a bit and his eyes widened. "I wouldn't have noticed. What do you think it is?"
"I think it isn't a what, but a who. Follow me."
Gray stood and we both raced into the woods. Memories of my nightmare flash through my head. Blood and ice. Onix is the blood and Gray is the ice, and then the thunder pushing them back must be me.
Out of nowhere, a large geyser of blood erupted from the ground. Gray thrust his arm in and instantly froze it. He pulled his arm out and he prepared to use his magic. I stood behind him, my eyes wandering, searching for a sign for where Onix is. I saw a flash of movement in front of us and I whispered in Gray's ear.
"He's in front of us."
Gray nodded and he held his hands together, an icy aura surrounding them.
"Blood Whip!"
A whip of red liquid hurled itself toward us and wrapped itself around Gray's wrist. It tugged him forward, and Onix jumped out from the underbrush with his katana in hand. He aimed it at Gray's Fairy Tail mark.
I'm panicking. I watched in horror as Onix's blade came closer to Gray's heart. I extended my hand, and with a scream, a huge bright gold magic circle appeared and a huge bolt of lightning erupted, zapping Onix and making him drop to the ground, twitching. The blood whip around Gray's wrist uncurled itself and the ice wizard stared at me. I blinked, still trying to comprehend what just happened.
I looked at Gray. "I don't even know, man."
We looked back at the other twitching wizard, only to find him slowly standing up and glowering at me. "You're more powerful than I thought."
"Uh, surprise?" I squeaked.
Onix smirked. "Not even this ice mage can help you. No one can save you from your fate. You will fail. They're coming, Amber. The Steel Demon is coming."
My eyes widened in shock. No. Not her. Anyone but her. I decided to play it cool. "Meh. Whatever. We have an Iron Dragon Slayer."
"Wait, what?!" exclaimed Onix. "I'm gonna have to tell the Reaper." The guy's eyes moved to meet mine. Gray took up another stance. Onix jumped into the air.
"Ice Make Lance!" Sharp beams of ice shot toward Onix, who merely destroyed them with his whip. He landed behind me and grabbed me from behind. I growled as I struggled to break free. I kicked as high as I could, which sent my foot sailing all the way back to hit Onix in the face. Wow. I'm obviously more flexible than I thought.
Onix held his nose in his hand and growled at me.
"Heh heh," I say. "Heh oopsie?"
"You're gonna pay for that. Blood Make Gun!" The blood from his broken nose poured out to form a rather large pistol with a long handle. That means a large magazine. And that means a lot of bullets. "Blood Shower!"
A deep red magic circle appeared before his gun, and ten bullets made of blood appeared, shooting towards me with rocket speed. Gray appeared next to me. "Ice Make Shield!"
A large shield of ice shot up from the ground. Wow that was fast! The bullets splattered against the ice. But Onix jumped into the air, firing more bullets while unsheathing his sword. I pushed Gray out of the way. If he can make a shield cover us from above, then I will truly be amazed. Coincidentally, there was a steep hill behind us, so we ended up falling down backwards.
Wow, first with Natsu, now with Gray. I think by the end of the week, this will have happened to every guy who choose to tag along.
I wouldn't be surprised.
This time I landed on top of Gray. I groaned and rubbed the back of my head. I looked down, finding the ice mage under me. He groaned and opened his eyes, most likely seeing the red blush across my cheeks. I smiled awkwardly as I got up.
"Sorry."
"Its okay," said Gray, a smile on his lips. I huffed and turned away. Men, I swear!
Onix landed in front of me, his black eyes dark and full of hatred. I stared into them, finding images flashing through my mind. Now I understand. He doesn't really want to be doing this.
"You don't have to do this," I say. Onix's eyes widened.
"Why not?"
"We can help you get her back."
Onix looked like he suddenly wanted to cry. "Shut up! You know nothing!"
He punched me in the gut. I hunched over and placed my hand on his abdomen. My vision again turned white, but this time it wasn't so white I couldn't see anything. I saw my hand sizzle with lightning and energy and then glow gold. A large blast of energy and Onix is flung back.
Gray jumped over me, his hands together. "Ice Make Hammer!"
A hammer appeared and whacked Onix into next week. He flew far. I teetered. I feel so tired. Gray helped me as we walked back to camp. I swear, Onix was more powerful when he first appeared. Must be because he's tired from me trying to purify him earlier. It must take a lot out of both of us. We limped back to camp. By now, everyone was awake. Probably because of all the screaming and yelling.
"We have to get moving!" I said. "Members of The Dark Stars are coming after us."
"Didn't you try and purify that guy?" asked Lucy.
"I did. I could try again, but I feel that I'm not powerful enough to cleanse his soul and wash away his sins."
"It depends on how powerful you are?" asked Erza.
"I think so...," said Amber, a wistful tone in her voice. "I'm not too sure. But we have to keep moving. They're catching up with us. Worse yet, one of The Reaper's most powerful servants is on her way."
Everyone gulped at the thought.
For the next week, we've been climbing over terrain and passing over fields of amber waves of grain. We've passed though a few towns and stopped at a few inns. We have even taken a few jobs along the way to maintain a steady amount of jewel. We started out with a lot of money. Now, we have a little more than half of what we started with.
Now we've stopped in a small town called Utopia. Of course it isn't a utopia, but it seems pretty close. The small town is exceptionally wealthy and has many businesses all over the town, as well as inns with wonderful deals. There is a massive library in the center of the town and a rather large cathedral at the top of a mountain. The architecture here is beautiful. Lucy and Levy couldn't help but gawk at the well made pillars and the vaulted ceilings of Utopia. The fashion of the people here is very cool and the streets are very clean. This town reminds me a lot of Magnolia, which was a utopia all in its own way.
We stopped by an inn named Angel's Wings. Very convenient. Something is strange around this town. I've heard that Heaven is a utopia. This town is named Utopia and there's an inn named after an angel's characteristic. Its either me being paranoid, or a coincidence. And everything so far has seemed to be a coincidence.
We spent the night and after an argument between the men and the women, we've decided to take a small break and tour around Utopia.
I walked with Gray and Juvia, fishing for spare jewels in my wallet. The entire time Juvia gave me a sour look because to her I was walking a little too close to her Gray-sama. She eventually grabbed his arm and started walked like that. I sighed. Its a good thing she doesn't know about our fall down the hill.
We walked by a store that caused Juvia to squeal and run inside. "Juvia wants that dress! Juvia will see you later, Gray-sama!"
"Well then," I say, a complete look of surprise on my face. "Must be some dress. Probably reminds her of you," I continued to tease.
"Shut up," muttered Gray. I grabbed his arm and dragged him along the street.
"Come on, we still have shopping to do! And maybe we can get a short job around here. Think they have a hospital?"
"Why a hospital?"
"So that I could heal people. Its a good way to master that skill, don't ya think?"
Gray pondered the idea. "Yeah. That actually sounds like it could help."
While we were walking I suddenly got attacked by a headache. Gray noticed me hunching over. He placed his hand on my shoulder.
"Amber, are you okay?"
"I don't think so," I say. "I'm feeling sick...~"
My vision went black and I fainted.
A dream during the daytime? Really?
I'm still in Utopia, but everything is frozen and grey. Gray is above me, his hand reached out as he had tried to grab me to stop my fall. I lifted myself up and looked around. This is strange. I began to twist one of my curls in nervousness. A golden path lit up on the ground. Do I follow it?
It started to flash. I guess so.
I started wandering down the path. It eventually brought me to the cathedral. I read the name on the sign above it. Angel Sanctuary Cathedral. Hmm~ Interesting.
I walked inside and followed the path down the isle between rows of seats. I approached the front of the hall where the path lead to a large cabinet. I saw the cross on the front with a large amber stone in the middle. It glowed the same gold as the path. I wonder...
Next thing I knew, everything began to glow white. Am I waking up?
My eyes snapped open. I saw Gray's face in front of my own, yelling at me to wake up. I slapped him.
"Get outta my face, moron," I mumble as I sat up. I remembered my dream. "That's never happened before."
"What exactly was that anyway?" Gray asked.
"I had a vision during the day. Definitely not normal." I looked up at the cathedral. Angel Sanctuary? That's no coincidence. I started to run there and Gray followed closely behind.
"Hey, Amber! Where are you going?!"
"There's somewhere I need to be! There's something I need to get!"
"What?!"
"I don't know."
"You don't know?! Let's at least get the others!"
"No time!"
We approached the cathedral. I slowed down once we reached the door. I took a deep breath. I opened the doors and walked inside, just like I did in my dream. I approached the cabinet at the front of the hall with the cross and amber in the center. Gray ran up behind me out of breath.
"What...is it?" he panted.
I said nothing as I reached my hand out and touched the jewel. It glowed and the cathedral lit up. I heard a faint heavenly voice.
'You have done wonderfully. Take your Holy Weapon.'
"Micheal?" I say aloud. The cabinet opened and there sat a six-foot halberd. It was silver and shined, with gold accents, the blade of the weapon made of gold with intricate carvings. There's a golden spike at the top, and seven spikes lined up on the opposite side of the blade. There's a black silky like rubber as a place for the hands and a black ribbon is tied to the spike at the top and also tied to the longer spike at the bottom of the pole. An ancient writing is inscribed near the blade. I'm strangely able to read it.
"The Holy Halberd of Thunder," I read aloud. Gray eyed the tall weapon. I grasped the weapon around the hand placement and picked it up. Its surprisingly light rather than heavy. I swung it around in a fluid motion. Wow. Its a weapon forged for holy war.
"What is it?" asked Gray.
"Its...my Holy Weapon."
"Eeh?!"
I hope that chapter was better than the last one and sorry that its taken so long! Now for an announcement:
I'm going to be taking a break from fanfiction due to my academic responsibilities. I will most likely be gone for more then three weeks. I estimate three to five. I may hop on and check stuff but I'm not promising any updates. This is also going to give me time to think about how I'm going to pace all my stories.
I have a great future planned for this story! Maybe even a sequel? Well, I guess we'll see once I finish this one eh? Welp, see y'all around! Eventually! Hehehe...
Don't forget to review, follow, and favorite! I need extra inspiration!
