Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail! Enjoy the chapter ;D
The Holy Halberd of Thunder sizzled in my grasp. I stared at it in awe, marveling over its light weight and regal air. The air around it seemed to sizzle in reaction to the mighty weapon. I ran a finger over the sharpness of the blade. It didn't cut my finger, but it felt sharper than broken glass.
"What is it?" asked Gray.
"Its...my Holy Weapon," I replied.
"Eeh?! What is that supposed to mean?"
I flourished it around once more, feeling the weight and the perfect balance. "Its a weapon forged for angels going into holy war. But this isn't a normal Holy Weapon."
"Why?"
"I think its because I'm one of the Seven Angel Legion Commanders as well as one of the Five Elemental Angels."
Gray moved to touch the weapon. The weapon seemed to sizzle and lightly zapped him. He winced. "Its not nice."
"Its not yours," retorted Amber.
"How do you know all this?"
Amber stared at the weapon. "I think it told me."
The doors burst open and the members of Fairy Tail poured into the church. Cassandra ran right up to me and grasped my hands.
"Ambs, they're here!"
My grip on the halberd tightened and I gulped. So, they finally caught up to us? I walked toward the door, Fairy Tail behind me. The steel demon has finally caught up to me and something tells me that Gajeel won't be much help.
We walked down the path to the church and witnessed a huge explosion. A huge twister was in the middle of Utopia, tearing houses and shops apart while...chasing something? That's not right. It was then split in half, something flying high into the air. I gulped when I saw it crashing straight toward us. I hurried to move everyone out of the way. Something, or someone, impacted in the ground in front of us.
"Ow..." said a small voice.
I peered over the edge of the small crater, seeing a young girl rubbing the back of her head and wincing. She looked up at me with pale blue eyes that almost gave off the impression she's blind. She weakly stood up, brushing herself off, and looked up with me. Her eyes widened.
"Tonitrua?" she asked. I blinked at her.
"Excuse me?" I said.
She slightly giggled. "Oh. I'm sorry. You don't know your angelic name, do you?"
I narrowed my eyes. Is she an angel? "I don't know," I cautiously replied, "do I?"
She bowed. "I am Ventus, the Sky Angel. Though on this earth people would call me Ashlyn. You are the Thunder Angel, no?"
I slightly bowed back. "I am Amber Waves. I am the angel you are referring to."
The girl smiled. "Good."
Ashlyn, or Ventus, a girl you could say is twelve, is short, standing around 5'3 with her pale blue eyes, pale skin, and white wavy hair that curled at the ends. She has a spread of freckles across her cheeks and her eyelashes are thick. She has little to no bust on her. She's wearing a dark blue head band behind her bangs along with blue diamond studded ear rings. She has on a knee-length white dress with dark blue ruffles. Her sleeves that exposes her shoulders are ruffled. She's wearing a black belt around her waist and around her neck, which holds up the front of the dress. Her back is exposed. She's wearing black boots. In her hand is a long silver flute that shone like the stars.
Ashlyn followed my gaze down to her instrument. She smiled, a light blush across her cheeks. "Where are my manners? This is Krista, my Holy Weapon."
I tilted my head. "Your...Holy Weapon?"
"It doesn't look like much does it?" she said cheekily.
"You named it?"
"Of course! Every Holy Weapon has a name. Its only truly yours when you name it." I eyed my Weapon. "Anyway," said Ashlyn, "we need to get down there quick. Iron is on a rampage looking for you."
"Iron?" I replied stupidly.
"The steel demon. Her name is Iron."
"Funny how that works," mumbled Gajeel as he chewed on a fork.
I grasped my Weapon and Ashlyn held her flute up. "We need to get down there quick." She looked up to me. "After you."
I don't know whether this girl is just being polite or if this is a trick. I shrugged. Oh well. We raced down the hill, raced down the streets of Utopia, and finally skidded to a stop to witness Iron blow away a house in a single breath. Well, I wouldn't call it a breath. The girl turned around to face us.
"Its about time, you stupid angels."
Iron, a girl with black shoulder length choppy hair and dark grey eyes and tan skin stared at us blankly. She has pointed ears and sharp teeth. She is somewhat tall, wearing a sleeveless grey turtle neck under a black leather biker's vest. She's wearing black skinny jeans and black boots. She wears a brown leather belt around her waist. In her hand is a massive buster sword, the scabbard hanging loosely on the belt. Wallet chains are connected to the belt along with multiple knives.
Iron's steel grey eyes regarded us coldly. I eyed my own weapon. Let's see if my instincts kick in like my fight with Monoka and Onix.
"Go to Hell, steel demon," said Ashlyn.
"You can't hurt me with a flute," said Iron through a mouthful of sharp teeth. This woman is strange. So much negative energy its almost demonic. No wonder why they call her the steel demon. I slid into a fighting stance, my weapon held in front of me. Iron smirked.
The rest of Fairy Tail lined up behind me. Monoka held her hand in front of everyone.
"What's your problem?" asked Dylan in an annoyed tone. Monoka tossed her a glare.
"This is between a demon and some angels. This is no concern for humans. This demon must be vanquished by the holy."
Iron swung her sword in a fashionable pattern.
"I'll mostly give you support. Other than that, expect no major help from me. I'm not very strong," said Ashlyn with a cheeky grin.
I nodded and held my halberd. Ashlyn backed up a few good steps behind me. She seems to have the right idea. Let's see how good this halberd is...
Iron burst forward at maximum speed, her sword held high and ready to strike. I crouched and stepped to the right, avoiding her blade and swung the end of my weapon to hit her in the stomach. Iron was knocked back. A few droplets of blood dripped down her chin.
"I didn't expect you to be that good. I thought you lost your memory."
"Its coming back," I said darkly, glaring at the demon before me.
I twirled my weapon and took another defensive stance. Iron raised her sword above her head and charged me with a battle cry. I let loose my own battle cry and parried her blow. I then pushed back against her, throwing her off balance as I stepped forward. I swung the blade of my weapon in an under strike. Iron deflected and then moved in a swing at me. I raised the end of my weapon and caused Iron's blade to slid down the pole. I stepped out and crouched, swinging my halberd around my shoulders to whack Iron straight in the face. Iron's blade went up and cut a gash in my left tendon.
I stepped back and clutched the wound.
"This is why you need armor," said Iron.
"You're not wearing any," I growled.
"I don't need armor," bragged the steel demon. "My skin is naturally as hard as steel."
"Let me guess," said Ashlyn, "your magic?"
Iron sneered. "Of course."
"Why not use it?" shouted Dylan. "Afraid?"
I smirked. All my friends are behind me. There's no way this woman will walk away alive.
Iron's sneer bent down into a frown. She swung her blade and took upon a Japanese fighting stance. "I am never afraid."
She charged, twirling and swinging her sword. I leaped forward and barely blocked the blow. I winced. My stupid tendon. I then felt it sooth and the pain disappear. I shoved Iron back and checked my wound. There's no cut. My tendon is healed. I turned back and saw Ashlyn playing a spunky tune on her flute. I saw my halberd glow as a sharp wind surrounded it. I smirked. I twirled the weapon through my fingers and pointed it straight at Iron. The wind surged and the halberd sizzled. A bolt of lightning surrounded in wind shot at Iron. Her eyes widened as she leaped out of the way.
She growled and her left arm glowed red. She switched sword hands. The sword seemed to melt into her arm and become one. The blade narrowed to a fine point. With a battle cry she charged me and swung the blade down. I dodged out of the way and aimed the halberd at Iron, a surge of lightning shooting out. Iron blocked it with her blade. It then disconnected and molded into a spear.
Is this the magic of the steel demon? Manipulating metal at will?
She then lay her palm flat against the ground. A red magic circle appeared under me. I was almost too slow. Metal spears rocketed out of the magic circle. I managed to dodge most of them; however, one managed to scrape the inside of my thigh and another scraped up my left side. I shouted in pain. Ashlyn was immediately to the rescue, playing her flute quickly and perfectly in time, each note hitting the center and completely in tune.
The Wind Angel threw me a smile and I threw a determined one back.
I swung my halberd again and stood, ready for Iron's next attack. Iron growled.
"Apparently I'm going to have to use a bit more magic than I hoped. I was hoping that you were going to be easy targets. I clearly underestimated you. I underestimated you both." She turned to Ashlyn. "Do you follow the Thunder Angel?"
Ashlyn glared at Iron. "I have always followed Tonitrua. She is my commander. She always will be. I swore undying allegiance to her and I do not see why I should divert away from such loyalty. I do not see why I should follow The Reaper. The Reaper is indeed powerful, but her mind has never been the purity of Tonitrua's."
Iron growled. "The Reaper ordered me to turn you. I see I shall have to do such a thing by force."
"I will die before I break my swear! I swore to God to always stand by Tonitrua's side!"
Ashlyn's flute glowed and it transformed into a silver trombone. She put the instrument to her mouth and played a low dark tune. A silver magic circle appeared beneath Iron and shredding wind blew up from it. It blew Iron into the air. With a growl, Iron's right hand glowed red and it transformed into a chain grappling hook. It shot into the ground.
Dylan immediately took action.
She held her hand out and a forest green magic circle appeared. Vines and tree limbs grew from the ground and wrapped themselves around the hook. I rushed forward and swung her weapon. Iron's left hand glowed red and became solid steel as she parried my blow. I stepped back and held my weapon before me.
"Give up?" I said.
Iron smirked. "Not likely."
She transformed her arm back into a hand and pulled it free of Dylan's vines and tree limbs. Her eyes turned red and she drew in a deep breath. Wait a sec. This is almost exactly like a ...
"Dragon Slayer?" I wonder aloud.
Ashlyn grabbed my hand and started to run for our lives. "Not even close!" she screamed.
"Rumble of the Steel Demon Slayer!" roared Iron, a red tornado of metal bits sharper than glass shot towards us. Gajeel stepped in our way and prepared to eat Iron's attack.
"No, Dragon Slayer! You mustn't !" screamed Ashlyn with wide fearful eyes.
I stared on in horror as blood splattered and littered the ground. I stared up at Gajeel. He fell back and I screamed at what I saw. He's cut everywhere. He's bleeding everywhere. He's reaching out for my hand. I grasp it as hot salty tears streamed down my cheeks. I placed my hand on his shoulder and concentrated until Ashlyn stopped me.
"You're not powerful enough. I'll do it. You focus on Iron. If you heal this man, you won't have the magic to beat her. Even now you have a slim chance. I would think you don't want it to be slimmer."
I stared at Ashlyn's serious look. Such a serious look on a young face.
I nodded. I stood up and glared at Iron who is now cackling evilly. She grinned at me.
"Afraid?" she taunted.
"I am never afraid," I reply. She gave me a surprised look. She then smiled sickeningly.
"You will be. I am a true demon. The Reaper herself gifted me with these powers. I do not intend to waste it. Prepare to die, angel."
I picked up the Holy Halberd of Thunder. "Let's do this, Alebarda."
The halberd flashed a bright, strong gold. I swung it and charged Iron. She retrieved her sword and swung it down on me. I rolled out of the way and whirled it around my shoulders, blocking her attack. I stepped to the side and rotated at the waist, sweeping the blade down and cutting Iron across the waist. Her eyes widened in pain as she shouted in pain. Blood gushed from the wound and she stumbled back. She glared at me as she clutched her bloody wound. She then smirked.
I heard a scream behind me. I whirled around.
Natsu is on the ground screaming, a bloody red magic circle beneath him. A metal chain is wrapped tightly around his lower body. When the members of Fairy Tail came close to help him. Metal spikes appeared from the ground, aimed for Natsu's heart, eyes, mouth, throat...basically everywhere.
"If anyone moves, he dies," she said with a sick smirk.
I felt anger swell inside me. She dare hurt my friend? She dare hurt Natsu? My Natsu? My Fairy Tail? She dare threaten to kill him?
Dark clouds filled the sky and the air filled with static. My anger swelled inside me. My eyes narrowed in pure white hot anger. I slowly turned to look at Iron over my shoulder, my eyebrows furrowed, my eyes narrowed angrily, and my jaw clenched. Ashlyn stared at me sadly.
"Its begun. The wrath of Tonitrua, the Thunder Angel."
My grip on Alebarda tightened and the air around me crackled. I felt the anger inside me reach the breaking point. And then it broke. And then my vision turned red.
