Unforgivable - Chapter 70
~A Teen Wolf fan-fiction collaboration between Miss E Charlotte and Sage Londyn~
Teagan closed her eyes as she took a deep, shaky breath. This had to be a dream, a very bad dream. She felt her eyes water up again when she saw a non-responsive Jackson laying on the lacrosse field again in her mind.
'This could not be real, Jackson could not really be dead' Is what she told herself over and over again. He just couldn't be dead. He was too young, he had too many hopes and plans. He was her first love and her best friend and she wasn't sure if she could live without him.
She jumped and snapped her eyes open when she heard the sound of a zipper and saw the paramedic zipping up the black body bag. Tears streamed down her face as she watched his face disappear as the bag closed. She couldn't help but think how peaceful he looked. He looked like he was just resting and would wake up at any moment, but she knew he wouldn't.
He would never open his eyes again.
She placed her hand over her mouth to hold back a sob as that thought hit her. She would never see his bright blue eyes again or that one grin he would always flash to only her. She would never get to hear his voice or feel his warm hugs again.
Teagan felt someone wrap an arm around her right as her knees went weak. She turned her head to see that it was Scott's mom, Melissa, that was holding her up.
Having her motherly presence beside her made her think of her own mother and wished she was there to help her through this, but if she couldn't have her own mother beside her, she was happy to have Melissa there.
She glanced around and realized for the first time that Jackson's adopted parents were not there, they had not came to the game and probably haven't heard the news yet. She couldn't stand the thought of him being alone.
"He shouldn't be alone." She mumbled quietly.
"Hmm?" Melissa asked, as she looked over at the younger girl.
"He's all alone. He shouldn't be alone." Teagan repeated
Teagan whimpered out when she saw them load Jackson into the ambulance. She went to take a step toward the ambulance, needing to be there for him, but felt Melissa pull her back.
Melissa lowered her eyebrows in confusion when she saw some kind of clear liquid dripping from the bag. She wasn't completely sure what it was, Scott hasn't told her much about all the weird supernatural stuff, mainly cause she had been avoiding him lately, but she would guess whatever was falling from Jackson could not be good.
"You shouldn't see him like this." Melissa said to her after she stopped her from entering the ambulance.
She was being honest, she didn't think Teagan should see him like that, plus the mother in her wanted to protect her and keep her from whatever that liquid was.
"But he's alone. I can't leave him alone." Teagan cried.
"I'll go." Melissa volunteered, then added when she looked over at her, "but you need to stay here."
As Teagan slowly nodded her head, agreeing to the idea, a paramedic shut the ambulance door then turned around to face the two girls as she said,"Thanks for your help, but we can take it from here."
"You know, I'm gonna have to give a statement. Why don't I ride with you?" Melissa suggested.
"Um, I think that would be a little ..."
"Perfect, great." Melissa called out, interrupting the paramedic.
The paramedic rolled her eyes and turned around to walk to the driver side door. Melissa turned to look at Teagan and laid her hands on her shoulders and waited for the younger girl to look at her then said, "Don't worry, I'll be there with him, I promise."
"Thank you." Teagan whispered with tears in her eyes, relieved that he would have someone with him since she couldn't be there.
Melissa shot her a small smile and gave her a quick hug then ran toward the passenger door.
Teagan stood still as she watched them drive away. She wrapped her arms around herself then while in a daze, turned around to walk into the school building and made her way into the locker room.
Once inside the room, she saw Avery standing in front of the sheriff as he talked to her, Scott and Isaac, who was standing behind Avery.
The two boys had a friendly hand on Avery's shoulder. Like Teagan, she too was upset about Jackson and then if that wasn't bad enough, her boyfriend was missing.
She knew it was probably Gerard that took him, it was the only thing that made sense, but they couldn't tell the sheriff that. It would open up way to many questions that they couldn't answer.
Isaac glanced over at the door when he caught a whiff of her scent and heard her racing heart. He hated to see her hurting this way and there was nothing he could do about it. Even if Jackson was never his favorite person, he did feel bad for him, all he wanted was to be a powerful werewolf, which Isaac could understand, but instead he was cursed with being a kanima and then was using to take out revenge on a lot of people. No one deserved that.
When Isaac heard the sheriff talking to them, asking them to let him know if Stiles answered his phone or if they saw him, he turned his head back to look at the frantic father.
"We'll call you." Isaac promised him. He and Stiles were never that close, they even bumped heads a few times, but he was innocent in all of this, he was only human.
Like Avery and Teagan, Stiles was pulled into this world because the people they cared about the most were involved, but what was happening with Stiles was always his worst nightmare.
This was why he tried so hard to push Teagan away, he never wanted her to get hurt cause of a choice he made. But if tonight showed him anything, it was that bad things were going to happen no matter how good you tried to be, at least if he was with her he could protect her and be there for her and that is exactly what he was going to do.
As Scott and Avery spoke to the sheriff for a little bit longer, Isaac walked over toward Teagan, who was standing off to the side with her arms still around herself and looking down at the floor as several tears fell down her face.
He stopped to stand in front of her and wasn't at all surprised when she didn't even look up. He figured she was to out of it to hear him approach her.
He silently watched her for a few minutes, unsure about what to say, what did one say in a moment like this? He finally mumbled out a 'come here' as he wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her toward him.
She buried her head in his chest as the sob she had been holding back finally broke through. He rested a hand on the back of her head and softly kissed the top of her head as he let her cry on him.
He wasn't sure how long he had been holding her when they quietly heard Avery say her name. Teagan pulled away from him then rushed to her best friend, falling into her arms as another round of tears appeared.
Isaac took a step behind Teagan and laid a hand on her back, just wanting her to know he was still there for her. She reached behind her and grabbed on to his hand, never wanting to let him go.
A few moments later, Teagan pulled back to look at Avery, Isaac and Scott, who was standing behind Avery, then asked, "Have they found Stiles yet? Is he ok?"
Avery shook her head and opened her mouth to answer, but couldn't find her voice, instead Scott spoke up and said, "No. They have searched all over the school but it's like he's vanished."
"Was it Gerard?" Teagan asked quietly so no one would overhear the question.
"It has to be him. It's the Argent's MO. Taking someone you care about for their own stupid reasons, but I swear if they hurt him I'm going to..." Avery snapped angrily, finally finding her voice.
"Trust me, I'll be right beside you. Gerard needs to be stopped." Teagan said, siding with her friend. "He almost killed you," She began to say as she turned her head to look at Isaac, then turn back to look at Avery and Scott as she continued emotionally, "He's taken Stiles and he's responsible for Jackson's d-death."
"We'll get him." Isaac promised her, as he squeezed her hand that was still holding his.
"Where's my mom?" Scott asked, once he realized the locker room was starting to empty out but he didn't see his mother.
"She went with the ambulance. I-I didn't want Jackson to be alone." Teagan admitted softly.
The small group nodded their heads in understanding, Scott wished his mom was safe locked up at home but figured she would be ok at a hospital. At least that way Gerard can't get to her or at least he hoped so. Hopefully the hospital had better security than a lacrosse game.
"You two should get out of here." Isaac suggested, as he looked at the two girls.
"No!" Avery called out, as she shook her head and added, "No way. Not until we find Stiles."
"We'll find him. I promise." Scott said, meaning himself and Isaac, then added,"We've seen what Gerard can do, but who knows how far he will go to get what he wants so I think it's best if both of you stay out of this."
Isaac nodded his head in agreement, glad Scott had been the one to say it cause he was about to say it himself. He didn't want Avery or Teagan in the middle of things. He looked down at Teagan, pleading with her, as he said, "Please don't fight us on this."
Teagan could tell from the look on his face how serious he was about this. After everything that had happened just that night, he was scared for her and just wanted her safe and after losing Jackson, she didn't want to put Isaac through that pain.
She nodded her head at him, letting him know she wasn't going to argue about it, then turned to look at Avery as she said, "Let's go to Stiles' house. We'll wait for him there cause he is coming home, A, I promise."

A few hours later, Avery and Teagan were sitting in Stiles' room. They were sitting side by side on his bed as they both watched his dad, the sheriff, pace back and forth as he talked on the phone to one of his officers. Every couple of minutes he was calling a different one, hoping they had some news about locating Stiles.
"Ok, well, if you see him ... " They heard him say before he ended the call.
Teagan reached over and grabbed Avery's hand when she saw her shoulders slump forward in disappointment. Avery took a shaky breath and felt tears in her eyes as she thought about all the bad things that could be happening to him right now.
His dad turned to look at the girls, his back facing the door, as he asked out loud, "Where the hell could he be?"
As the two girls sadly shrugged their shoulders, wishing there was something they could tell him, they all heard a voice coming from the door way answer, "Right here."
Stiles' dad quickly turned around and sighed with relief when he saw his son standing in the door way. He was still in his lacrosse uniform with several bruises on his face and a split lip. His dad rushed over to him as Avery and Teagan quickly jumped up from the bed to follow along behind him.
"It's ok." Stiles said to all of them when he saw the looks on their faces, then added when his dad grabbed his face to take a closer took, "Dad, it's ok."
"Who did this?" Sheriff Stilinski asked.
"It was just a couple of kids from the other team. They were really pissed about losing and I was mouthing off, you know." Stiles lied.
"Who was it?" His dad asked again.
"Dad, I don't even know. I didn't even see them really." Stiles answered.
"I want descriptions." His dad said angrily, then added, "I'm going to call that school. I'm going to call them and I'll personally go down there and I'm gonna pistol-whip these little bastards."
Stiles called out to his dad, hoping to calm him down, then his dad reached forward to lay a hand on the back of his neck and pulled him toward him to give him a hug.
Teagan felt tears in her eyes as she watched the father and son hold on to each other, she looked over at Avery and saw her wipe away a few tears with a relieved expression on her face.
After the hug, his dad stepped back and wiped at his eyes then announced he had some calls to make. He needed to call all of his men to end the search since Stiles was back.
As soon as he left the room, Avery threw herself into Stiles' arms and buried her face in the crook of his neck as she held on to him tight.
"I take it you missed me." Stiles said, as he wrapped his arms around her.
Avery pulled back to look at him as she said,"Of course I did!"
Stiles smiled at her as he leaned forward to softly kiss her lips, being careful with the cut on his lip. When he pulled back, she playfully smacked his shoulder as she said,"Don't ever scare me like that again."
"Ow!" Stiles called out, as he grabbed his shoulder, then said, "Fine, next time I'll try as hard as I can not to get kidnapped."
Teagan looked up from her phone, after sending Scott a text telling him that Stiles was home, she softly smiled at the couple then took a step toward Stiles and gave him a hug, telling him she was glad he was ok. Once she pulled back she asked, "So what happened? Was it Gerard?"
Stiles nodded his head then said,"One of his men threw me in the basement then Gerard came in and kicked my... I mean I kicked his ass and then one of his men kicked mine."
Avery and Teagan shot him a look, letting him know they didn't believe him. He sighed then said, "Ok fine, the old man kicked my ass, but that does not leave this room and it's not going to become a thing either. There will be no talks of 'hey, remember the time Stiles got his ass kicked by Allison's grandfather' ... no that is not happening."
"We won't say a word." Teagan promised.
"That's not even the worst of it though." Stiles said to them, as he wrapped an arm around Avery, wanting her close to him.
"There's something worse than getting your ass kicked by a old man?" Avery asked with a small giggle.
"Ha-ha, not funny." Stiles said back to her, then added, "The Argents have Erica and Boyd."
"What?" Teagan asked with a shocked expression. She had thought the two were already out of town and couldn't help but feel relieved that Isaac didn't go with them or he would have been taken too.
Neither girl was close to Erica or Boyd but they knew it was bad news for the hunters to have them and they felt bad for them, they were just teens, like them and didn't deserve that.
"They have them hooked up to an electrical wire. I guess torturing them for information about the others." Stiles guessed. They all knew which others he was talking about, Derek and Isaac.
"How did you get away?" Teagan asked him.
"After the whole ass kicking thing, Gerard left and I guess with everything going on he forgot to lock the basement door or something because it was unlocked and I just snuck out while all the hunters were distracted." Stiles answered.
"That sounds... to easy." Teagan pointed out.
"It was too easy." Avery agreed, remembering the time Scott rescued her and Derek from Kate. They thought they were lucky to get away until Derek pointed out it was easy, next thing they knew arrows were flying and a huge battle broke out.
"It wasn't easy, maybe a little lucky but not easy." Stiles disagreed, then added, "it took me awhile to duck and dodge everyone so I could make it out of that house."
"No, no, he wanted you to escape." Teagan said, thinking the same thing Avery was. "And he's not torturing Erica and Boyd." She added.
"They're bait." Avery said,"He knows they would never betray their alpha. He's counting on you telling where Erica and Boyd are so Derek..."
"And Isaac." Teagan interrupted, feeling her stomach drop at the thought of losing him. She had already lost Jackson, she couldn't lose Isaac too.
Avery nodded her head then continued, "Will come to him. It's a trap."
"What do we do then?" Stiles wondered out loud.
"We have to figure out what Gerard is up to." Teagan said.
"Easier said than done. That old bastard is smart. It's like he is always one step ahead." Avery reasoned.
"Yeah, well, he's not the only smart one." Teagan pointed out, meaning the three of them. Surely they could figure out what he was planning.
The three sat down, Avery and Stiles on his bed and Teagan in the chair at his desk. Teagan couldn't help but wonder if Jackson's death was all part of Gerard's plan, sadly it wouldn't surprise her.
Once Jackson crossed her mind, she felt tears fill her eyes again when she saw his lifeless body in her mind again. She didn't even realize she had started to cry until she felt an arm wrap around her and she looked over to see Avery kneeled down beside her. Without a word, Avery pulled her down toward her and held her close as she cried on her shoulder.
Avery glanced up and saw Stiles hand her a roll of toilet paper he got from the bathroom as he watched Teagan sob with a pained look on her face. Since he and Teagan had become pretty good friends, he hated to see her hurting.
He silently watched the girls a few minutes later until he heard his phone beep, letting him know he had a new text message. He grabbed the phone off of his desk and read it, his eyes widen in shock.
Avery heard him gasp and looked up to see the look on his face. She asked him what was wrong, but he didn't say anything as he handed her his phone for her to read the message herself. She read over it then breathed out,"Oh, my God."
"What?" Teagan asked, as she wiped the tears from her eyes and looked at the phone with a gasp.
Teagan grabbed the phone from Avery's hand as she stood up and asked, "J-Jackson's alive? He's alive?"
"That's what the message said." Stiles said, as he pointed to his phone.
"So-so what does this mean?" Teagan asked confused.
"It means we still have a chance to save him." Avery answered, as she thought back to her conversation with Peter before the game. She was planning on telling them about it afterwards, but then once they thought Jackson was dead she thought that meant it was too late, but now they had a second chance.
"What? What do you mean?" Stiles asked.
"There's something I haven't told you two." Avery begin, as she stood up from the floor. She looked over at Teagan then said, "The reason I couldn't pick you up before the game is cause when I got home, Peter was in my room."
"Wait, what? Are you ok?" Stiles asked, worried he had done something to hurt her.
"Yeah, I'm fine, he didn't hurt me or anything, he just wanted to talk." Avery answered.
"About what?" Stiles asked, then added, "Actually better question, how is he even alive?"
Avery shrugged her shoulders then said,"I don't know, but he told me we can save Jackson."
"What? How?" Teagan asked with wide eyes. She wanted nothing more than to save him and would do anything.
"Jackson turned into the kanima because he lost his identity, it's like he forgot who he is. But if we can remind him of who he is, if we can reach out to him, we can bring him back." Avery explained, she look over at Teagan then added, "You can reach him T, you're the only he has ever had a connection with. You can save him."
"How?" Stiles questioned out loud.
Teagan glanced down at the floor, wondering the same thing. She felt like she had been close to reaching him before, there were times when she saw the old Jackson like the night at the rave, but then he was right back to being the kanima. She had to find a way to get to him and remind him of their bond, remind him of the love they once shared.
She gasp in surprised and rushed over to her purse, which was sitting on Stiles' bed when a thought hit her.
"What are you doing?" Avery asked, as she and Stiles watched her pull everything out of the purse and toss it on the bed.
She pulled a keychain out of her purse, the one that she gave him on their year anniversary, the one that Lydia found and recently gave back to her. The heart keychain represented the time she gave him her heart.
It represented their connection, their relationship and the fact that they would always love each other. She knew that keychain meant the same for him, which is why he never got rid of it.
"I know how to save him." Teagan said, as she held the keychain tightly in her fist.
"Let's go then." Avery said excitedly, as she grabbed her arm and the two went to walk toward the bedroom door.
"Whoa, wait!" Stiles called out to stop them, then asked, "Are you sure this is a good idea?" The last thing he wanted was for either girl to get hurt. With them all just being human, they had a better chance at getting hurt, like he did earlier.
"Yes!" Both girls called out, wondering why he was hesitating.
"I'm sorry but I don't think it's a good idea and I can't let you two go through with this." Stiles said nervously. He knew neither one would take the news well of him stopping them.
"You're joking right?" Avery asked with a chuckle, there was no way he could be serious.
"No, I'm not joking." Stiles said, then added, "Do I need to remind you two of what happened last time you got tangled up with the Argents?"
He didn't wait for them to answer as he called out, "You almost died Avery."
"Believe me Stiles, neither one of us have forgotten that." Teagan said, then added,"But this is Jackson."
"And this is our life and we're just human. If Jackson gets hurt, he'll be ok. Hell we thought he was dead a few minutes ago but apparently it's going to take more to kill him." Stiles pointed out, then added, "But we don't get a second chance, if we die then we're just dead."
He looked over at Avery as he added, "Do you have any idea what it would do to me if I lost you? I'll be devastated and if you die I will literally go out of my freaking mind." He looked over at Teagan then said, "I would be devastated if something happened to you too. You've become one of my close friends and honestly I would miss you and I know everyone else would too. How do you think your dad or Jackson or even Isaac would feel?"
Before either girl could say anything, Stiles looked at them both and continued, "Death doesn't happen to you, it happens to everyone around you. It happens to all the people left standing around at your funerals trying to figure out how they're going to live the rest of their lives now without you two in it."
Avery took a step toward him and reached out to grab his hand as she said, "I get it Stiles, I do. I was going out of my mind with worry when you were missing so I know how it feels to be worried about someone, but that feeling that you are feeling at the thought of losing me is exactly what Teagan is feeling now about Jackson and if we can save him, we have to do it."
"We need you Stiles, please." Teagan begged.
Stiles sighed as he ran a hand over his hair then said, "Ok fine. I don't like this, but I know there is nothing I can do to actually stop you two."
"Nope. Stopping us was never going to happen, we can both take you in a heartbeat." Avery teased.
"And since I've already had my ass beat once, I'm not looking for a repeat." Stiles said, causing the two girls to chuckle. He grabbed his keys then said, "Let's go" as the two girls followed him out of the bedroom and toward his Jeep.
