Derek's PROV

I whimpered and fell to the earth. I looked up to see a wild dog standing over me. It was one of the dogs from the other morning. It was growling down at me and had an evil sneer. This wolf was a female and had pups nearby. She was just protecting them.

The dog backed away and took off into the deeper part of the woods. I looked up to see an angel. There was a halo of light surrounding her. Chloe's blond hair looked gold. Her blue eyes were still their beautiful sky blue, but now sadness was like a grey overcast.

She started to walk to me very slowly. She slowly lifted her hand. I could see myself reflected in her big blue eyes. My black fur was tangled and I was curled up on the leave covered ground. My body was frozen and aching, but my mind was racing. I could feel my fear start to kick in at how bad the situation was becoming. The sun was setting and I was hurt near a human. I needed help, but most of all I needed to stay calm. I sniffed her hand and breathed in her divine scent. She calmly said that she would help. I knew I would be in good hands. Chloe pulled out her phone and called her aunt. She explained the situation and her aunt promised that she would be there as soon as possible. Help was on the way.

Chloe's aunt was able to come quickly. The cut was not deep, so I thankfully did not need stitches. They cleaned my wound as they talked in hushed tones.

"I w-wonder what-t could ha-ave d-done this to him." Chloe said.

'I don't know, but whatever it was... It caught him off guard and attacked him from behind." Her aunt answered back.

"What do yo-uu think d-distracted him-m Aunt Lauran-n?" She asked. I could tell how sad she was from her tone and stutter.

"I don't have the slightest idea." Lauran said.

They keep an eye on me for a little bit. Chloe stayed by my side talking to me, petting me. I was in heaven. She told me things about herself. She told me about her mom and how she had died when she was younger. She said her dad no longer showed any emotion and he was usually gone on business trips. Her aunt was always there for her but she thought it was slightly controlling. She loved movies and wanted to be a screen writer one day. She was not a very outgoing person, but she was able to control her stutters when she talked to me. I believe she is shy and intimidated by people. But with everything she told me she continued to amaze me.

After they keep watch on me for a few more hours they set me off in the woods. I went for a run around her house to make sure she was okay. I knew from her stories that she would be at her home alone tonight. Her dad was on some kind of trip. After making sure she was okay, quickly ran back to my home. It was almost eleven at night when I got home.

I walked into my home, but it was too quiet. Simon and Tori were not bickering, but I could hear their breathing in the other room. When I walked into the living room I knew I was in for some kind of hell and a lecture.

Dad was furious he never heard me tell him I was going for a run. None of them knew where I was and they were worried sick. I got an ear full from Tori, but it was about not being able to go to the mall. She wanted to get a new outfit or something for school tomorrow. I could care less.
