Derek's PROV

Chloe and I spent another afternoon working on our project. I spent a good hour ruing over math with her before her big test. I know for sure that she is ready. It amazing to spend time with her. I'm getting to know little things about her that make me adore her even further. Little things like how Chloe will tie her hair up when she's really concentrating or how she has this one strand of bangs that never stays behind her ear. All night all I wanted to do was to just tuck it behind her ear and run my hand down her neck. It would have been the perfect opportunity for a kiss. I don't know how much longer I will be able to distance myself because she has knocked down all my walls.

Chloe's PROV

Tonight was truly amazing. It was everything I had hoped it would be. I got to really see a side of Derek I had never know before. I already liked him but I love the side of him I saw today. It was like he just opened up to me. We have become so close these last few weeks. He has helped me so much in school and he makes me feel safe. I just have the feeling that I am well protected when I am around him. I was able to go to sleep instantly. I dreamed of dark green eyes full of curiosity and love.

_
I took a deep breath, and reminded myself mentally to stay calm.
Now was the time I would find out how I did on my math test. Derek said I would do great and had nothing to worry about, but I still had my doubts. My teacher walked around the class handing out papers. There were various reactions from everyone. That did nothing for my nerves. Finally, she came by with my test. She set it on my desk- face down. I stared down at a blank sheet of paper while having an eternal battle. I sucked in a deep breath and flipped the darn paper. I looked down and a grand smile spread across my face. That same smile stayed there until the bell rang. I ran out of class and went looking for Derek.
I finally saw him and ran at him.
"Derek!" I called
"Chloe, what's wrong?" he asked. I ran straight into his hard body. My arms wrapped around his waist and I laid my head on his rib cage. I could feel his heart and every breath. I smelt his natural scent, a soothing earthy smell that only Derek could have. Once I was calm I looked up into his green eyes. A large smile spread across my face.
"I did it." I said smoothly, quite proud of myself. Derek smiled and hugged me back. His strong arms wrapped around my small frame. He picked me up and spun in circles. I giggled and held on to him tighter.
"So, where would you like to go?" he asked as he set me on my feet. I don't believe I had ever seen him smile this much. I believe this is one of the most perfect moments of my life. I have dreamt about this moment for weeks. I looked up and smiled.
"A Movie," I said simply. Derek nodded. He took my hand, and we walked past students that were chatting in the hallways, ready to leave school or head to clubs and sports.
We walked casually into the parking lot. Derek walked over to the passenger side and opened the door for me, like a true gentlemen. I smiled sincerely. I climbed into the semi-antique car, and Derek shut the door behind me. He got into the truck, and with that we drove off to the theater.
Derek was a total sweet heart. He bought the tickets and the snacks. He quietly sat and listened to all my critiques about the movie.

Derek drove to a small local pizzeria. I ordered a slice of cheese pizza and Derek ordered an entire bacon and pepperoni Pizza. I was not the least bit surprised when he ate the whole thing by himself.

After dinner Derek took me to a small Ice cream shop and got us some ice cream. I enjoyed my little vanilla and Derek ate his moose tracks.
"Thank you again for tonight," I said. Derek and I were sitting in his car. It was now 10 o'clock at night. We had spent the entire day together. He was so sweet all night, and I did not want to say goodbye. I missed the Derek I spent time with out of school, but as soon as anyone watched us he would restrain himself.
"It was no problem," Derek said interrupting my thoughts. He was looking out the window. I was having such a good time I never considered that he would never want to even be with me. He had done such a good job hiding his emotions, but he is human. He can only take so much.
"Bye Derek," I said. I let my sorrowful emotions seep through into my voice. I opened the door and climbed from his car.
"Chloe!" He said. His eyes were full of terror. I could see worry hardening his beautiful green eyes.
"What's wrong?" I asked. My aggregation at myself was coming as a bite through my voice. Derek hurried out of his car and came over to me.
"You can leave, but-"He stopped.
"-But what!?" I yelled at him.
"-Don't leave angry," He finished. I could feel my face soften. His green eyes were swimming with emotion, and instead of the hard, impenetrable green the typically were, they were soft, and tender, something I assumed was quite rare. They shone from deep within lighting up his entire face.
I leaned up to hug him, but it all came crashing down. I was crying, no sobbing into Derek's strong chest. He wrapped his strong arms around me. I stood there embraced in his muscular arms under the starry sky. So much had happened to me lately that I couldn't hide anything anymore. Derek made me feel so natural I trusted him with everything. He has become my rock. He was everything to me. I looked up into his soft and loving eyes. Love, that's what I had been seeing in his emerald eyes. He slowly leaned down. His warm lips met mine halfway. Something in me just clicked.
