Chloe's PROV

Today was it. The great big day, the day I would have my date with Derek. I was so supper excited and I could barely contain myself. I was bouncing off the walls singings loud, but not so loud that the neighbors that could hear. I woke up this morning to a beautiful day birds singing, just like in a perfect Disney movie. I was probably more excited than necessary, but that doesn't matter. I really liked Derek and I hope today went great, because I wanted to be with him.

I spent all morning watching Saturday morning cartoons, and nursing my hot cup of lavender and mint tea. Then I jumped in the shower and washed my hair as well as shave my legs. When I got out I took my time blow-drying my hair. Then after it was completely dried I went over a few strands to completely straiten my strawberry blond hair. Then I inspected my skin seeing that the acne scrub I used last night made my skin clear. My eyes were as big and blue and normal so I just applied some mascara to my lashes and it was time to start getting dressed. I grabbed the Capri pants I set out the night before and easily slipped them up my legs and buttoned them. I then slipped on a light pink tank top smoothing the cotton over my stomach and thread a brown leather belt through my belt loops. I finally slipped a light floral tank top.. I stepped into a pair of brown leather flip-flops and put in a pair of small silver earrings to finish my outfit. I sat on my couch watching more cartoons with my second cup of lavender and mint tea, waiting for Derek to come knocking on my door for our picnic in the park.

I woke up to a quite house at six am this morning. I put on a pair of basketball shorts and a t-shirt over-top my boxers. I walked downstairs and grabbed me a water bottle and an apple. I had to force myself to eat the apple I just wanted to rush outside and go for a run. My wolf and I both craved to stretch out our neglected muscles. After finishing my breakfast I was out the door running to the woods. I loved to run it gave me a freedom. I didn't have to worry about being watched in the woods I was free to go as fast as my inhuman legs could force themselves to go. Now that my body was free to work itself, it didn't take long for my legs to adjust and work on command. My body started to trust its instincts and went into auto pilot. This gave me the chance to think and sort through my jumbled thoughts. Today was Saturday, my date with Chloe! I would be picking her up at one PM. I made a promise to myself that I would stop running at ten to get myself ready.

Those four and a half hours went by fast. Before I knew it I was in the shower washing away sweat and grime from my body. I shaved along my jaw and combed through my black mop of hair. I washed my face with a strong acne soap embracing the burn and sting knowing that my face was clearing itself up. There was an old tale I was told as a child when my skin began to form acne. I was told that when a werewolf meets its mate- to attract the mate the wolf's human form would change to become more attractive to the mate. Knowing Chloe I think that tale is to be true. I can tell that my face doesn't looks as red and angry as they usually do, and that my hair is easier to work with. My eyes were as toxic green as always, but maybe Chloe liked how harsh they were. My arms, chest, stomach, and back have toned up a lot even though I'm not trying to build up muscle. I could care less what I look like, but I do want Chloe to be proud to have me as hers. If she likes me to look like this I'm more than happy to change.

I slapped myself back into reality and grabbed a black shirt from my dresser a pair of dark jeans and a pair of green sneakers and I was just about good to go. I walk down stairs to look for my dad. I heard him flipping through the paper sipping on his mug of coffee. The closer I got the more I could smell the pure black brew and the musty smell of the paper. He was humming an old Led Zeppelin tune. Now was as good time as any to talk to him, because I don't normally ask him to do this.

I slowly walked up on him, but then I thought I would scare him if I just started talking so I grabbed a green apple and pulled out a chair at the bar.

"Hey Derek, I haven't seen you around yet today. Did you go for a run this morning?" He asked.

"Yeah, I did." I said trying to say more than one word replies to him.

"Did you sleep okay?" He asked making easy small talk. This is why him and Simon were so easy to talk to they practically ran the conversation themselves. The difference between the two is that Kit just knew when to stop talking, when Simon filled silence with stories. I personally preferred Kit's methods.

"I slept fine, thanks." This is where Kit would let the conversation drop. I normally appreciated it, but at the moment it was a fear that he would and I would have to start out a new conversation with my conversation, without him breaking the ice.

The silence continued. Just as I feared.
