"Children behave…that's what they say when where together."

Alec Potter walked through the double doors of Hogwarts. The warm torches were still as comforting as they were the first time he walked through those doors. Moody was with him as they walked into the entrance hall where a stern Professor McGonagall and a slime covered Horace Slughorn. Alec frowned questioningly at the pair.

"Hi?" said Alec looking at them. "So what are we dealing with?"

"Follow me." Said Slughorn. They quartet walked down to the dungeon, Alec and Moody exchanging confused looks as they walked past the classrooms to his study. They walked through into the office.

"Doesn't look so bad." Said Alec looking round. Slughorn opened the door to his study. The room was plastered in thick green slime.

"OK, that's what we're dealing with." Said Alec, "And why have you brought me in?" He turned to them both. "I'm busy, you know that." McGonagall cleared her throat.

"We thought you might have seen this before." She said, she gave Alec a stern look. Alec looked away.

"You don't know that." He said closing the door. When he did Moody looked at him questioningly. Alec gave him a stern look and he kept quiet.

"Well…" Moody wiped a little bit of slime of the wall.

"Defiantly Organic based." Said Moody, "I'd say hand made." Alec nodded.

"They would have had to come in when the place was quiet." Said Alec walking round. "My guess when Slughorn was busy with a newt or owl class." Moody nodded in agreement.

"Question is, how did they disperse it?" he bent down and dabbed his fingers in the mixture and looked at it with a keen eye."

"And judging by how much of this there was I'd say there must have been lots of small packages rather than one big one."

"You're right." Said Alec looking at the ceiling. He sighed.

"Why did Minerva seem to think you'd know something?" asked Moody. Alec thought back to a party that he, Katherine and James went to. James and Sirius converted a small stink bomb to spray out red slime. Alec placed his hands in his pockets.

"I need to go make a phone call." He said walking out the room.

"Have you found anything?" asked Slughorn angrily.

"I need to make a call." Said Alec.

"Well do hurry about it!" snapped Slughorn. Alec turned to him.

"I'm supposed to be tracking a fugitive Horace." He said low and dangerously. "I really couldn't give a damn about you're party and who blew it with that stuff, but I'm doing this as a favour. So kindly, shut the fuck up."

"Now get out."

"But.

"Now!" McGonagall led Slughorn out of his office. Once Alec was sure they were gone he pulled out a mirror.

"Katherine Potter." He said. He waited for a few minutes before it was picked up.

"Hey stranger." She said smiling back through the glass, "What makes you call at this time?"

"I need you to do something for me." Said Alec, dreading to know if he was right. "Are you at home?"

"Yeah, we needed some more stuff, remember?"

"Yes." said Alec, "I need you to go to my store."

"Your store?" Alec nodded. "Ok, what am I looking for?" Alec turned to the study and then back again.

"I need you to look for some time release pouches." Said Alec. He watched as Katherine placed the mirror down. He could hear rumbling and then her face reappeared.

"There aren't any." She said, "Do you want me to order some more?" Alec closed his eyes and fought the urge to swear.

"Alec is everything alright?" asked Katherine.

"Fine." Said Alec through gritted teeth. James used the pouches. But how did he get in? The doors round here were locked far beyond the capabilities of a first year, even if it was his own son.

"Could you check how many door wedges there are?" more rustling.

"Five." There were six before. He had to admire his resourcefulness. But he was really pissed off now.

"Ok, thanks." He said, "I'll see you in a minute."

"Ok, Bye." Alec cut off and walked into study again.

"Were done here." He said to Moody. He didn't argue and walked out with Alec to the corridor where Slughorn and McGonagall where waiting.

"Well? Did you find anything?" asked Slughorn.

"We've got a couple of leads." Said Alec. "Moody will take you're statement while I discuss something with Professor McGonagall." He didn't wait for an answer and he walked off. McGonagall looked around but soon followed him.

"Where are we going?" she asked.

"Your office." Said Alec, "We need a little chat." McGonagall's features hardened.

"Yes we do." When they got their McGonagall opened the door and led Alec in.

"So, you scare half the students in this school shitless and yet you can't bear to tell of my son. What is with you?"

"I had no proof." Said McGonagall, "Besides, he would know that."

"You have people who know that he's used that substance before." Said Alec.

"How did he disperse it then?" asked McGonagall.

"He used…my time delay pouches." Said Alec, "He snuck into my store and got them."

"That's why I needed you." Said McGonagall, "You would find out how he did it."

"And now you want me to read him the riot act, don't you?" McGonagall nodded stiffly.

"Fine." Said Alec, "Bring him to me."

James, Sirius and Remus where in their dorm laughing their heads off. The sight of seeing people coming back covered in green slime was too much. James ate an every flavour bean and relaxed on his bed.

"That was a brilliant idea James." Said Sirius, "I wouldn't mind doing something like that again."

"Yeah, we'll be the slime bandits." Said Remus. He chuckled slightly. "It was funny."

"And there was you asking whether it was a good idea or not." Said Sirius. "You should listen to us more often."

"I won't be easy." Said James, "The whole schools going to be on alert."

"That makes it more fun though." Said Sirius.

"That's true." Said James, "We'll do something to get Gibbs again." There was sudden whispering from downstairs that made all three sit up on their beds. Then there door opened. Professor McGonagall then walked into their Dorm.

"Potter, I wish to speak to you in my office." She said.

James gulped. He got off his bed and followed her. Just his luck that the whole house decided to catch a look to see who McGonagall was going to snare.

"That's Potter."

"Why does she want to speak with him?"

"Maybe it was something to do with Slughorn's office."

"But he's a first year."

"Have you ever met him?"

It was worse into the common room, everyone's eyes were soon on him as he followed McGonagall through the room and out into the corridor.

"So…where we going?" asked James.

"My office." Said McGonagall.

"Any reason?"

"I think you know why." She said not looking at him. James gulped again as he followed her to the office. He took a deep breath and walked into the office after her. He then saw his dad standing by the fire with his arms crossed. He turned round and saw James, his eyes narrowed.

"Can you give us a moment." Said Alec, McGonagall nodded and walked back out. James got that sick tightening in his stomach that said he'd done something bad.

"Do you realise how busy I am?" he asked turning round to James. "Do you, really?"

"I thought you and mum where on a mission." Said James.

"We are." Said Alec, "But, I was called by the school to investigate a prank. One that included thick green slime." He walked closer to James and towered over him.

"Know anything about it?"

"Uhm…"

"I know you did It." said Alec, "I wasn't very hard to figure out." James remained silent.

"Shall I rattle it off then?" James still said nothing.

"Using a wedge to prop a magical door open. Using time release pouches to disperse the sludge. Even some behind the books for maximum coverage." James had to bite his lip to stifle a laugh. It sounded impressive from his point of view.

"Well? What do you have to say?"

"Sounds impressive when you tell it like that." Said James. He then instantly regretted saying that as his dad's face morphed to anger.

"Did you even read my letters!" he said angrily, "I'm constantly on the trial of psychopaths James. People who have used bombs in the past to kill people! So when I heard there was an explosion here I thought one of them had killed again. But what happened, it was you playing a stupid prank!" There was a thick silence between the two of them.

"It was the stupidest thing you've ever pulled off." Said Alec, "You know that people have seen you do that. If you are going to do something like that, do something original!" James looked down at the floor.

"James, I can't afford to come to here to give you a telling off every time you do something like this. My job is very busy at the moment."

"Yeah…like you're too busy to be around at Christmas." Said James.

"James, that's not fair."

"Why won't you and mum around at Christmas anyway?" asked James.

"James were very busy."

"I don't buy that crap anymore." Said James. "So why don't you go of on your little adventure with mum while I stay here out of the way." James stormed out of the office.

"James!" shouted Alec. He ran to the door and saw James running down the corridor, Professor McGonagall looking on dumbfounded. Alec went to call but it was no use, he banged the pane of the door with his fist.

"What was that all about?" asked McGonagall, she followed Alec into the office, he threw himself into a chair and ran his hands through his hair.

"I don't know what to do with him." said Alec.

"Why did he storm out?"

"You heard, you know." Said Alec looking up and then back down.

"Reminds me of you to be honest." Said McGonagall.

"I never blew up a professor's party." Said Alec. "Not that I remember anyway." McGonagall shook her head and walked to the window.

"So, where are you going off to this time?" Alec looked up.

"Why does it?"

"Just answer the question, Alec."

"…South Korea."

"How long there?"

"Well until I get the information I need."

"And then were to?"

"Who knows?"

"For how long?"

"I don't know." Said Alec. McGonagall turned round to face him.

"That boy idolises you." she said. "When exactly was the last time you spent a Christmas at home Alec?"

"That's not the-"

"I'm afraid it is." Said McGonagall. "My bet is not since you went back to the Auror's. What sort of message has that sent to James. Alec shook his head.

"Have you noticed that's he's so much calmer when you are around him?"

"I take your silence as a yes."

Alec got up and went for the door.

"Where are you going?"

"To talk to my son." Said Alec.

"Shouldn't we go and talk to him?" asked Lily.

"I wouldn't, he seemed very angry." Said Dorcas. Word had spread quickly about Potter being summoned by McGonagall, fifteen minutes later he stormed in and shut himself in his room. No one knew why.

"I think we should." Said Lily, "How do we know how help him if we don't know what's wrong with him?"

"Lily, I wouldn't." said Isabel, "Dorcas is right, I'd leave him to it." Lily shook her head and stood up.

"No, I'm finding out why he's upset." Said Lily, "He can't stay up there forever." Lily walked up the boy's staircase to the third floor and knocked on the door.

"Go away!" his voice was angry, but Lily remained strong. She tried the door but it was locked. She pulled out her wand.

"Alohamora." The lock snapped open and Lily opened the door. She looked around and turned her nose up at the mess.

"I said go away."

"What did you tell me?" Lily walked into the room, her eyes looking at the mess of clothes on the floor. She started to pick up clothes that were strewn across the place. "That you shouldn't let anger fester up?" Lily folded the shirt and went to pick up more clothes. She looked at the bed long enough to see Potter turn and give her a quizzical look.

"What are you doing?"

"Tidying this." Said Lily gesturing with her hand. "No human deserves to live in this squalor."

"What about house elves?" asked James. Lily now looked at him quizzically.

"Elves?"

"Of course, you're a muggle born." Said Potter flopping on his bed.

"You really have elves?" said Lily.

"Food doesn't cook itself." Said Potter. He watched her folding clothes and placing them on his bed.

"So, why are you up here?" asked Potter, "Certainly wasn't to clean."

"You're right about that." Said Lily, "It's a welcome bonus for you."

"Do you charge by the hour?" he asked smirking. Lily turned and scowled at him.

"My rates are reasonable." She said, "The real reason I'm up here is to see what's wrong with you."

"With me?" Lily nodded, "By the way, that's Sirius's shirt."

"Oh." Lily placed it into a new pile. "But yeah, you stormed in and went up here, and no one wants to know what's wrong."

"But you do."

"My mum says a problem shared is a problem halved." Said Lily. She picked up a new pile and began to fold them.

"It's a long story." Said Potter he got up from the bed and began sort the pile into his stuff and Sirius's.

"How long?" asked Lily. "Because it can't be long enough that I can't fold all these clothes." James chuckled and shook his head.

"Way, back, you'll have to fold all the clothes in the tower." Said James.

"You're not telling me." Said Lily. She looked at Potter who moved some t-shirts to Sirius's pile.

"You shouldn't keep things like that all balled up inside you." Said Lily.

"It's my life." Said Potter.

"That it is." Said Lily. "But, if you want to talk, I'm here." Potter smiled to himself.

"I'll keep that in mind." He said.

"You're also lucky as well." Said Lily.

"How?"

"Slughorn's party." She said darkly, "Someone rigged the room to blow out green sludge." James bowed his head.

"Yeah, I heard about that."

"Is that why McGonagall sent for you?" asked Lily.

"No, my dad wanted to see me." Said Potter.

"Why?" James looked over at her folding his clothes and then went back to sorting them out.

"I thought you said they were going away?"

"They're going to." Said James, "He was in the area and came to visit."

"You were happy to see him then."

"Not really." Said James. Lily looked on puzzled. "He was acting like a dick."

"You shouldn't really say things like that about your dad." said Lily.

"You don't know him." said James, "He taught me a lot of things." He shrugged, "But he can be an arsehole sometimes."

Lily folded a jumper and looked down at the floor and then back at James.

"I always thought you got on well with your dad." Said Lily.

"Believe half of what you see." Said James, "It's nice to have him home. But it sucks to when he has to have to go."

Lily nodded. "My mum had to stay in hospital for a couple days a few years ago. According to my dad I couldn't stop crying." It wasn't quite the same as James's predicament but he had to admire her trying to cheer him up. Almost made him regret doing the sludge bomb on her.

The door opened and both of them looked up. James frowned when his dad opened the door and stepped in.

"Hey James." He said, he was clearly here to see him, and talk to him about what had happened earlier.

"Who's this?" he asked pointing to Lily.

"My maid." Deadpanned James. Lily huffed.

"You sure know how to treat a girl Potter."

"You're the one who insisted on cleaning my room." said James.

"Look…" Alec looked over at Lily.

"Oh!" she said, quickly realising that he wanted to see James alone. "I'll just…yeah." She quickly exited the room and closed the door.

"James, I'm sorry." He said.

"Don't dad." said James, "Shouldn't you get going, or have you already sold me out."

"Against my better judgement…no." James looked up confused.

"You're not pitying me are you." Said James, "Or is this guilty conscious."

"No." said Alec, "Because you know I hate Horace as much as you and I can see why you did it."

James smirked and took the pile of folded clothes to Sirius's bed. He then turned to Alec who was still sitting on the bed.

"You still didn't answer my question." Said James, "Why don't you and mum stay home for Christmas?"

"Maybe it's something me and your mother should discuss with you in private." Said Alec. "But I don't know when that will be." James nodded.

"I have to go James." Said Alec, "I'm sorry I can't stay longer, but this mission's trial is taking me to Asia."

"Ok." Said James, "I'll see you soon." Alec got up and walked to the door.

"I'm going to miss you." Said James. Alec turned back. "But I'm still pissed." Alec nodded and walked out of the room leaving James alone.

Lily was looking outside with a feral grin on her face. She placed her hand on the cold window and gasped as she watched the huge snowflakes fall. With it being a Saturday, there were no lessons that could ruin this day. Nothing at all.

She changed into her winter things and took a book with her to read in the snow. All the older years had gone to the local village so it left mainly the other first years milling around in the snow. Lily, Dorcas and Sarah where sitting on some benches talking.

"Did they ever catch the person who pranked that party?" asked Sarah.

"No." said Lily, "There were rumours it was Potter. But I don't really think it was him."

"I wouldn't bet against it." said Dorcas.

"Aren't you supposed to be his friend?" asked Sarah.

"That's why I wouldn't bet against It." said Dorcas.

"Yeah, well I think—"

POFF

A snowball hit Dorcas in the side of her face. Lily and Sarah burst into laughter.

"Don't laugh just yet."

POFF

POFF

Two more snowballs came out of know where and smacked Lily and Sarah who now looked shocked as they tried to recover. Lily turned to see Potter, Black and Lupin with snowballs in their hands. Potter stepped forward and kneeled down so he was looking down at them.

"Ladies, nice day no?" he said in the cocky tone.

"You are so dead Potter." Said Dorcas slowly.

"Have to catch me first Dorcas." He said wheeling away. Dorcas, now red in the face began making a snowball.

"That messy haired idiot is going to pay." Said Dorcas, she picked it up and went to track them down.

"Oh there going to pay dearly." Sarah and Lily joined her in the pursuit. They found themselves on the outskirts of the forbidden forest.

"Did you see them?"

"No, they're gone." Said Sarah.

"Can you see their footprints?"

"There must be a hundred different tracks." Said Lily, running her hand over the snow. "There's no way we can track them." Dorcas huffed and paced around.

"That idiot." She seethed. All of a sudden there was commotion from further up the forest. Shouting and the sound of snowballs hitting trees and the ground. Then panting. Suddenly, Potter, Black, and Lupin jumping over a ridge with a barrage of snowballs behind them.

"Get down!" shouted Potter.

"What did you do?" shouted Dorcas.

"Threw snowballs at the Slytherin's." Said Potter as they ran past. Lily turned and ran with them, followed swiftly by Dorcas and Sarah. Lily turned her head to see a large group of Slytherin's throwing things at them.

"Any ideas?" shouted Lily.

"Find a place to hide and go on the attack!" shouted Black.

"Idea!" shouted Potter, "Sirius, freezing charm!" Potter turned round and pointed his wand at the ground.

"Bombarda!" a white light shot out of his wand and hit the ground. The white snow on the ground shot up.

"Gelatio!" Black's wand shot out a dark blue light which now froze the snow in mid-air.

"That'll hold them." said Potter holstering his wand. He looked round.

"Sorry about before, but were gonna need some help fighting them off." Said Potter, "You in?"

Dorcas's face flared, her nostril rode high and suddenly huffed. "Fine." She said shortly. "But that doesn't mean that I've forgiven you for that snowball."

"You haven't forgiven me for a lot of things." Said Potter, "Why start now?" Dorcas folded her arms.

"Ok, what's the plan?"

"You stay here with Sarah, Sirius and Remus and hold them off. Me and Evans are going to flank them on that ridge."

"You are an idiot." Said Dorcas, "Go then."

"Come on Evans." Said Potter cheerfully, Lily looked at Dorcas who nodded encouragement. Lily followed Potter up the ridge and went further into the woods.

"What we doing? Why are we going in so deep?"

"You're supposed to be clever, you figure it out." Lily thought as Potter led them deeper into the forest. He suddenly turned right and ushered her to do the same.

"Were not leaving tracks to follow." Said Lily.

"Bingo and I thought you might be blonde." Said Potter. They came to the ridge and saw the Slytherin's and the Gryffindor's fighting it out.

"So what do we do?" asked Lily. Potter was making up a few snowballs.

"We pound the shit out of them." said Potter with a smirk. He Lily began to do the same until they had a sizeable amount.

"On my mark." Said Potter, he picked up a snowball.

"NOW!" Potter and Lily stood up and threw. Lily's lamely missed, while James's soared through the air and smacked Gibbs in the mouth. Lily tried again and missed. Potter's snowball hit Mulciber in the hand to knock out his own Snowball. Lily laughed as they barraged them with snowballs. Lily went to grab another ball, but she realised they had none left.

"Potter." Said Lily. She looked down to see the Slytherin's ready to pounce on them.

"Evans."

They made their way closer towards them. Lily looked round at Potter who was remaining calm and collective.

"Any bright ideas?" He nodded.

"One." he turned round and pulled her along with him.

"GET THEM!" James weaved in and out of the trees. Lily not being so agile had to dodge with more time. She felt something whizz past her and smack onto the tree she was trying to dodge.

"Almost got her!"

"You said you had a plan." Shouted Lily.

"I think as I go!" shouted Potter.

"That's reassuring!" Replied Lily as they hurdled a log. Another snowball hit a tree close to them.

"We got them cornered!" one of them shouted.

"What?"

"Detour!" James yanked her over to the left and they ran forward. Lily noticed a drop. She didn't see any trees. Which in her mind said that it was a big drop.

"Potter!" she said nervously. Potter picked up his speed the drop came closer into view. Lily breathed deeply.

"Potter!"

"Live a Little Evans." Potter said as he jumped over the edge.

"POTTER!" Lily screamed as she flew over the edge. She was right; it was a big drop, by no more than ten feet, but more than enough in her eyes. As they fell, Potter twisted his body in mid-air so Lily fell into him. Then Potter hit the ground with a thud with Lily on top of him and rolled along the soft snow.

They rolled to a stop. Lily was on the floor with Potter on top of her. His body pressed up against hers. Lily had never been so close to a boy before, his breath caressed her face, and he smelt of mint. His hands where either side of her head. He looked down at her with his hazel eyes. Very nice eyes, they were hazel but with little speckles of gold and green, he breathed in sharply. Almost taking in every detail of her face.

Lily also noticed that their faces, more so…their lips where very close. Lily's eyes flickered down across his snow covered robes. The snow making his jumper and robes cling to his body.

Lily felt the blood rush to her head. She was sure her face was going crimson as she was gradually loosing herself in those eyes.

"Did you see where they landed?"

Potter leaned in by a millimetre. He was so close to her, what was he going to do, what was going to happen?

"Shh." He whispered.

"I don't know. Come on lets go back." They could hear their footsteps on the crisp snow as they retreated. Lily wasn't concerned about that. What she was concerned about was the fighting urge to rub Potter's sides with her hands.

"I think they've gone." Whispered Potter. The same tingles running through her body as his breath caressed her face.

"Are you sure?" asked Lily lightly. Not wanting this warm moment to end at all. "But…what you did was very reckless."

"Very." He whispered, "But you liked it…right?" Lily couldn't answer, her losing her breath in her mouth.

"James, there you are." Potter sprang from her and began to dust himself down. He finally helped Lily to her feet. Who now felt very cold by the cold air that had replaced his warm body. Dorcas, Sarah and the rest of the boys had found them. If Lily could make herself and Potter invisible for that moment she would have.

"James." Black was grinning at Potter and pointing at Lily. Lily, who's face had gone back to its crimson hue glared at the two of them. Though Potter was ruffling his hair. Lily looked over at Dorcas who came over.

"You ok?" she asked.

"Yeah." Said Lily a little thickly, "I'm gonna go back to the castle and Er." She down at her snow covered self. "And Change." Before she could stop herself she whirled round and ran off towards the castle.

"Evans!" Potter called after her. She couldn't look back; she could hear the crunching of snow behind her with Dorcas and Sarah trying to keep up with her.

In the forest, there were two figures lurked in the snow. They had their faces covered by black hood connected to their black cloaks. They watched as a red haired girl ran off with two other girls following her. Then their target came into view. James Potter, he too was running though not as fast. The two men hid behind the trunks as he stopped just in front of them.

"Evans!" he shouted. He then placed his hands on his hips and looked very pensive as he watched the three specks move towards the castle. He then turned round on the two boys following him.

"What was that for?" he said aggressively to one of the other boys, Sirius Black.

"What?" he said shrugging his shoulders. "Where you going to kiss her?"

"No." said Potter turning away. "But couldn't you see that she was uncomfortable."

"Come of it James." Said Black. "Why are you protecting her anyway?"

"Because she's scared and alone." Said Potter, "Like we were when we first met."

"No, this is to do with Snape." Said Black, with a smirk on his face.

"Snape?" said Potter exasperated, "No, this had nothing to do with that greasy haired idiot." Black raised an eyebrow.

"James, you didn't give a shit about her when you first met her." said Black, "My Guess is that Evans is something Snape has that you haven't." Potter turned back round.

"So my guess, and Remus will back me up on this, is that you want her because she's with Snape."

"NO, I'm just looking out for her." said potter, "She's a muggle-born Sirius. You know as well as I do that Snape's into that pureblood propaganda."

"Yeah bu—" Potter put his hand of to stop him speaking.

"Not done." He said, "The only reason that he's not told her she's a…" he gestured with his had to indicate the point which Sirius nodded in acceptance.

""The only reason he hasn't done that yet." He continued, "Is that he fancies her." Black let out a bark like laughter.

"Yeah, he does. But do you really think that Evans will go for him? James, it's Snape, and Evans. Say what you like mate, she's fit. Some of the other lads in our year and above fancy a crack at her."

"So long as it's not Snape." Said Potter darkly, "I don't trust him."

"Ok." Said Black throwing his arms up. "Protect her by all means from him, but that could end up backfiring on you."

"How?"

"You'll see." Said Black as he walked past him. Potter turned back and followed. The two men stepped out from behind the trees and watched them.

"Is that him." The voice was Scottish, he stepped almost out of the shadows with his face to obscured by the hood he too was wearing. The two men in front of him turned round.

"Yes Sir." Said one, "We were going to get him but there were to many people."

"Yes, we might of caused a scene." Said the other "And we might of caused a panic." The man with the Scottish accent nodded.

"Keep an eye on him, I have it on good authority that Alec Potter is on my trail at the moment." He walked off and turned his head round.

"I want his son as my bargaining chip."

"Are you sure I can't tempt you Mr Potter." Said Slughorn. This was the third time Slughorn had tried to rope him into the slug club. "It'll be a nice Christmas gathering."

"After what happened the last time." he shook his head. "I don't think so."

"Has your father been in touch as to who did that?"

"He's been busy tracking some guy down." Said James, "I think he has more important things to worry about."

"Oh…well ok." Said Slughorn moving on. "Mr Black, can I tempt you?" Sirius scoffed.

"I heard what happened at Halloween." He said, "I hate to think what sort of liquid you'd have squirting out there." James bit his lip to stifle a laugh as Slughorn moved on.

"Why is he so obsessed?" asked Sirius consulting the book.

"Imagine saying that he has both a Black and a Potter in the Slug Club." said James, "His gloating would be unbearable."

"Of course Professor!" It had to be Evans sucking up to him. James scoffed and threw some random ingredients into the cauldron.

"Was that supposed to go in?" asked Sirius.

"Haven't a clue." Said James. "You know it'll be a lot harder to try and prank that one."

"Did your dad hand you over for blowing up the first one?"

"No." said James.

"Still no word from them." James rubbed the back of his head.

"No." he said stiffly.

"Well this'll cheer you up." Said Sirius, "I replaced Snivellus and Evans's newt blood with hot sauce." James smirked and looked over.

"Doesn't that make a sleeping potion explode?" said James. Sirius, who wasn't looking just nodded."

"And makes it foam afterwards." He said. "You know, spicing things up a bit." The two fist bumped each other.

BOOOOOM

Both James and Sirius lifted their feet up and laughed as the foam spread along the floor.

"Professor!" shouted Evans, "Professor, something's wrong."

"Damn straight." Said Sirius.

"I read that book you gave me." Said Bathilda handing back Casino Royale. "I really enjoyed it."

"I liked that book you gave me." Lily handed back the leather covered book.

"I had no idea about the element armours." Said Lily, I can't believe that they were all lost."

"It's one of the great mysteries." Said Bathilda. "But I suppose that it's for the best. They were said to be able to destroy armies."

"I always thought there were only four elements though." Said Lily, "I was amazed that there were five."

"Well there based loosely on the Greek gods, as you probably read." Said Bathilda. "Poseidon for Aqua, Zeus for Thorboltus."

"Hades for Pyro." Finished Lily, "I didn't realise there was all this history surrounding them."

"Well, there many theories as to where there all hiding." Said Bathilda, "Some say they were placed in the furthest reaches of their elements, other think that they were placed in each other's reaches." Bathilda took a sip of her sherry.

"But I think there too powerful for one person to control." She continued, "Even one, many a good leader were apparently driven mad by the armours thirst for bloodshed."

Lily nodded. "I seems really strange that there are all these amazing things about the world that I never knew. Who knew that the earliest wizards were in fact the Greek gods, and there adventurous told to be stories for children to enjoy."

"I must I'm very impressed by your knowledge of them." said Bathilda, "Were you taught them in school?"

"Briefly." Said Lily, "But there classed as fiction instead of biography's."

"Intriguing. Were you taught that the sword of the stone was fiction to?"

"Some people believe it." said Lily, "When it gets to Merlin they stop believing." Lily sipped on her drink (Butter beer in a fancy wine glass.) "They think it's too farfetched. How wrong they are."

"It's not uncommon for wizards to make their biographies into fiction for muggles." Said Bathilda, "Did you know J.R.R Tolkien was in fact Gandalph, and the lord of the rings was in fact the great wizarding civil war of 1150."

"I've read those books." Said Lily, "No, no that can't be right."

"Strange, but true." Said Bathilda, "Dracula, but, he's still on the loose somewhere."

"He's real?" Said Lily.

"Oh yeah." Said Bathilda, "The Romanian government still cover up his victims. Sighting unfortunate circumstances."

"Has anyone tried to catch him?"

"Van Helsing died trying, as did Dr Harker, but he went mad after Dracula made his wife, Nina his bride."

"Why doesn't someone do something about him?" asked Lily.

"I've always said Alec Potter should be on the case. But he's to busy tracking Robert Murdoch."

"Alec Potter? As in, James Potter's Dad?" Bathilda looked over Lily.

"You know Potter?" she nodded.

"Amazing child." She said, "His parents own a holiday home not far from where I live." She sighed and looked into her glass.

"He's never really been the same after what happened a few years ago."

"What happened to him?" asked Lily, Bathilda face instantly regretted saying that, she quickly regained composure.

"He went through a rough patch a few years ago." Said Bathilda, "He's never really been the same since." Lily nodded.

"So…do you have any plans for Christmas?" she asked.

"Me? No, no." said Bathilda, "All my family are dead now."

"Oh…I'm sorry," said Lily.

"Don't be child." She said with a smile. "I meet up with other lonely hearts to have dinner and exchange gifts. It's quite nice really. Do you have any plans?"

"Just really looking forward to see all my family again." said Lily, "It's been a while since I've seen them."

"Sounds like you're all set." Said Bathilda, she looked around.

"I'll probably have to go to social functions as well." She added bitterly. "Because everyone can't get enough of Bathilda Bagshot." She looked down at Lily. "I shouldn't be burdening you with this."

"No, no it's fine." Said Lily, "It's just really nice to finally talk to someone about books who loves them as much as I do." Bathilda smiled.

"Who is that boy in the black?" Lily looked round at Severus.

"Who? Sev?"

"Yeah, him." said Bathilda, "He's been staring at you since you started talking to me."

"How long ago was that?" asked Lily.

"Hour and a half ago." Said Bathilda. "If he likes you so much he should talk to you."

"He does like me." Said Lily, not getting Bathilda's meaning. "Were friends."

"Just make sure that it doesn't go into anything more." Said Bathilda, "He's looking at you like he owns you." Lily looked back over at Sev who had now sulked away. Lily smiled sadly.

"Maybe I should go talk to him." she said, "He doesn't really know anyone."

"If you insist Lily." said Bathilda as she moved on.

Lily walked over to Sev, who was now sitting on a bench looking at everyone have a good time. Lily smiled at sat down next to him.

"Not found anyone to talk to?" she asked.

"No." said Sev.

"Have you tried?" asked Lily.

"I was hoping to talk to you." Said Sev, "We hardly spend time with each other anymore. I thought we were friends, you know, best friends."

"We are." Said Lily, "Look, with Christmas coming up, we'll be able to spend as much time with each other as we want." Sev smiled at this.

"See, we have everything to be positive about." Said Lily.

"Trying to get away…into the night…and then you wrap your arms around as we tumble to ground and then you say…"
