Chapter nine - Say Something

~ A Teen Wolf fanfiction collaboration between Miss E Charlotte and Sage Londyn.~

Teagan glanced over at the seat beside her, wishing her best friend was sitting beside her like they had originally planned until the unthinkable happened.

Derek was dead.

She still couldn't believe he was gone. Sure; she was never that close to Derek, but she knew deep down he was a decent guy who was just trying to do the best he could and didn't deserve death. She knew how much Avery loved him and knew losing him had destroyed her.

She looked down at her cell phone, sending Avery a quick text to check on her, then looked up when she heard Allison speak up from the front of the car.

"Am I getting too close?" Allison questioned out loud, she glanced over at Lydia in the passenger seat then the rear view mirror to look at Teagan before adding, "I'm getting way too close, aren't I?"

"That depends. Are you just following the bus, or are you planning on mounting it at some point?" Lydia asked, causing Teagan to chuckle from the back seat.

Allison shook her head and cracked a smile at the comment, then said, "Yeah, I should back off."

"Well, that also depends. Oh, do you mean the bus or the ex-boyfriend you're currently stalking?" Lydia added.

"Well, after it happened, I'm not letting him out of my sight." Allison pointed out.

"I know what you mean." Teagan added, agreeing with her. She might be a little annoyed at Isaac at the moment, but after everything that happened, she wanted to be as close to her boyfriend as possible.

Allison glanced in the rear view mirror at her brunette friend. After the big alpha showdown, she knew she was worried about Isaac, Avery and the rest of their friends, but Allison was just glad neither girl was present for the fight. It was worse than anything they could have imagined.

"And by the way, this all started when he came knocking at my door." Allison spoke up, talking about Scott.

"For what?" Lydia asked.

"He was accusing me of being at the school the night they were tracking Cora and Boyd." Allison answered.

"It's not accusing when it's true." Teagan pointed out.

"How did you ..." Allison began to say, as she glanced back at Teagan.

"Isaac." Teagan answered simply.

"Oh." Allison said, then added,"I should have known he would tell you he saw me."

"So wait you're hunting again?" Lydia asked, then added, "I thought you and your dad quit."

"He did. I didn't." Allison answered.

"Yep. Allison is still going out there being a bad-ass huntress." Teagan added.

"Wow. I don't know what is more shocking." Lydia said, then added, "You still going out hunting or that you two are friends again."

"Trust me, I was just as shocked as you." Teagan said. She laid a hand on Allison's shoulder then added, "but I am glad we worked things out."

"Me too." Allison said smiling.

"So how did that even happened?" Lydia asked them.

Allison glanced at Teagan in the rear view mirror with a small smile on her face as the two girls thought back to a few days ago.

(Flashback)

Teagan parked her car by the old house that belonged to Avery's mother. She glanced at herself in the rear view mirror and took a deep breath. Today was the day.

The first day she and Avery were meeting up with Allison for their first training lesson. She still wasn't happy about teaming up with Allison, but she couldn't deny that Allison was great hunter and would teach them everything they needed to know.

She slowly released the breath, then reached out to open the car door and stepped out. She made her way to the front door and without knocking walked inside.

She walked over to the entrance to the living room then paused when she saw Avery and Allison looking at a few of the weapons that Allison had brought. Even if the girls weren't ready to start on weapons, she wanted them to at least look at them and know what was what. Teach them a little about the history of them before they started using them.

"What is this?" Avery questioned Allison, as she picked up two knives from the table, neither girl had notice Teagan in the doorway yet.

"Those are Chinese ring daggers." Allison answered. "You can use them like this." She said, as she took them from Avery and twirled them around a couple of times before pretending to stab Avery in the side to show her.

Teagan softly gasped when she saw the scene before her as she imagined Allison doing that Isaac. It took weeks but Teagan finally got Isaac to open up to her about that night when they went against Gerard and the kanima. He never wanted to tell her what went down between him and Allison, but she finally broke him down and he told her the whole story.

At hearing her gasp, both girls turned to look at Teagan, who was still standing in the door way.

"Hey, you're here." Avery said, as she smiled at her best friend.

"Yeah." Teagan breathed out, then added as she eyed the knives in Allison's hand, "But I'm starting to think I was right before. This is a huge mistake."

Allison looked down at the knives and knew what Teagan was thinking. She quietly swore then sat the knives back down on the table as Teagan turned around to walk away, ignoring Avery calling out to her.

"Teagan, wait!" Allison called out, as she and Avery rushed after her, catching up with her as she walked outside and over to her car.

Allison reached out to lay a hand on Teagan's shoulder to stop her, causing her to spin around and slap Allison across the face.

"Teagan! What the hell!" Avery yelled out, as she looked at both girls in shock.

"It's ok." Allison said, as she laid a hand on her cheek and took a quick step back. She looked at Teagan then added,"Hit me again, if that makes you feel better. Yell, scream, whatever you have to do. I deserve it."

"You could have killed him!" Teagan yelled out, then added, "You know Isaac. You know the type of person he is. You know how important he is to me and you almost took that away from me."

"I'm sorry." Allison whispered, then added, "Teagan I really am sorry. I know I screwed up. I never should have let Gerard get in my head. I had just buried my aunt and then there I was again, burying someone else I loved. I know it's not an excuse and I'm not trying to use it as one, but things changed so quickly in my life. I went from this naive girl in a new town, falling in love with an incredibly sweet guy, to finding out werewolves exist and my family hunts them. Then I find out the boy I fell in with is one of them and I start losing family members cause of these animals and I just wanted someone to pay for that."

"Then enter Gerard. He used me and tricked me, just like he did the rest of you." She continued angrily. She hated that she trusted her grandfather, only to be betrayed by him. "But I'm trying to do the right thing now and I can help you two if you let me." She added sincerely, as she looked at both girls.

"You want to know what I think?" Avery spoke up, causing the two brunettes to look over at her. "I think we all have lost a lot. Family, friends, peace of mind and we need to all stick together cause we are all we have now."

Avery reached out to grab one of Allison's hands then one of Teagan's before she continued, "We have all made mistakes, we have all done things we wished we done differently, but we made our choices and nothing we say or do will change them. All we can do is move forward and forgive. We have to trust each other or none of us are making it through this alive."

Avery glanced over at Teagan then said, "I hate what Allison did too, but I believe her, she's sorry for the choices she made and I can forgive her. We have to move forward from this. Can you do that?"

"I don't know if I can forgive. At least not right away." Teagan answered honestly.

"I understand that." Allison said, then added, "All I ask is that you give me a chance. I miss you, Teagan."

"I miss you too." Teagan quietly admitted.

"Come here you two." Avery said, as she pulled both girls toward her and wrapped her arms around them, pulling them into a group hug.

The three girls hugged for a few minutes, all of them needing the comfort after everything they had been through. As hurt as she was about what happened that night, Teagan realized that Avery was right, they were all they had left and they all needed each other, and in that moment Teagan found herself forgiving Allison a little, which in her opinion was a start in the right direction.

(End Flashback)

"Ok I take my earlier comment back." Lydia began to say, then added as she looked behind her at Teagan, "I think the most shocking thing of all is you and Avery training."

"Why is that shocking?" Teagan asked her.

"Well… Avery I could see being a hunter, but you... Teagan you almost cried when you hit your hand against your locker the other day." Lydia said with a laugh.

"It hurt!" Teagan pointed out, then added, "But I can be a bad-ass."

"Right." Lydia said sarcastically, then added, "As long as no doors jump out and attack you, right?"

"Don't make me kick your ass." Teagan playfully teased, as she shook her fist at Lydia, causing her to laugh harder.

"Believe it or not, she is doing great." Allison said, interrupting the friends playful banter.

"Ha! See, I'm doing great." Teagan pointed out.

As the three friends laughed together, Teagan's laughter faded away as she glanced over beside her, wishing once again that her best friend was by side her and laughing along with them.

She looked down at her phone, seeing that Avery hadn't texted her back and wondered how she was doing. She knew she was going through a rough time right now, but hoped she would be ok until they got back to town.

She had to be ok, because Teagan didn't think she could handle losing anyone else from her life.

~()~

Hearing her phone go off, Avery slowly crawled out from underneath her blankets and crossed the room to where her phone was laying on her desk.

Picking it up, she saw it was a text from Teagan just checking up on her.

Just as Avery started to text her back she glanced sideways to where the picture collage was on her wall.

Before she could even stop herself, her bloodshot eyes landed on a picture of her and Derek.

Her phone landed on the floor beside her feet as she stared at the picture, it felt like the walls of the room were crumbling and caving in around her.

This wasn't supposed to have happened, Derek wasn't supposed to die.

She wasn't supposed to be sitting in her room mourning his death, knowing that he was gone nothing felt right in the world.

Taking a deep breath she closed her eyes trying to keep in the new wave of tears threatening to spill from her already red and raw eyes.

It seemed like she hadn't stopped crying since the day before when she'd found out Derek was dead.

Pulling the picture from the collage she stared at it as her mind drifted back to the day before.

(Flashback)

Avery sighed as Boyd's number went to voicemail again, fed up with him not returning her calls she left a voicemail "Damn it Boyd, you can't just tell me that you guys are planning an attack on the alpha's and not return my calls. What the hell is going on? I'm freaking out over here… and Cora's not answering her phone either. Call me back now I'm going to find some wolfsbane and… just call me back!"

It wasn't even 5 minutes later that Avery was already in her car heading for Teagan's house.

"Hey A!" Teagan greeted, surprised and happy to see her best friend.

The two hadn't spoken much since Avery had been rescued from the bank, and Teagan was happy Avery had decided to drop by.

"We need to talk." Avery said, not returning the smile.

Teagan's heart dropped at her friend's expression, looking down to where Aspen was sniffing the base of a tree in her front yard. She said, "Let me stick him back inside."

Avery nodded and watched as her friend put the husky inside the house, Aspen barked when the door was pulled shut, not happy with going back inside already.

Teagan hadn't even had him out for 10 minutes before Avery showed up.

"What's wrong?" Teagan asked, now facing her friend.

"I need to know where they going." Avery said, acting like Teagan should know what she was talking about.

"What…"

"Isaac and the rest of his pack. I'm not going to go run into danger, just please tell me where they went. Boyd isn't returning my calls and I'm panicking." Avery said, her words running together rushed as she spoke.

Teagan frowned, she'd been panicking herself. Worried sick about Isaac going against the alphas, she'd tried to tell him it was a stupid idea, but he didn't listen. He wanted revenge, and to keep them from hurting anyone else.

Teagan's heart started to race and she wiped her sweaty palms on her jeans as she shook her head back and forth, "Isaac never told me where they were going to meet."

"I came here because I thought he would have told you." Avery admitted, immediately feeling bad for stressing Teagan out even more, when she saw the look of terror on her face.

Looking at her phone Teagan cried in a rushed voice, "I've been trying to stay busy… distract myself so I wouldn't be freaking out, but I honestly didn't know it had gotten this late.

Avery bit down on her bottom lip, and nodded, "They've been gone a long time, and no one will answer my calls…"

"It was Derek's plan." Teagan mumbled under her breath.

It was no secret that she and Derek weren't close and didn't see eye to eye on a lot of things, but over the past year she'd learned he wasn't near as bad as she thought to begin with.

Of course, being a decent guy didn't mean he had the most fool-proof plans either.

"They held his pack members, his sister and… me at the bank all summer." Avery reminded her. Rage flashed through her light brown eyes as she gritted her teeth, "They killed Erica."

Teagan raised her eyebrows at Avery, even after everything they'd been through she still defended Derek.

Sighing in defeat Avery nodded and said, "I know, T. Isaac's involved in it and you're terrified to lose him. Believe me… I get it."

A tear rolled down her cheeks at her best friends words.

"Scott's, we need to go there… that's where Isaac has been staying." Teagan instructed, pulling her phone out and calling him as she got into the passenger seat of Avery's car.

After several tries Teagan sighed heavily and looked out of the passenger window at all the streetlights they passed.

So many thoughts were running through her head.

She was mad at him for going along with Derek's plan, for putting himself in that amount of danger, but that anger came with guilt. What if she was mad at him and he was badly injured, or worse… what if he didn't survive the fight.

Gasping she looked down when she felt Avery gently squeeze her hand, she hadn't even realized she was crying until she'd been shaken from her thoughts.

She loved Isaac so much and the idea of losing him was earth-shatteringly devastating.

As Avery neared the house, she saw Scott and Isaac both moving slowly towards the front door, from where they'd parked his motorcycle in the driveway.

"Oh thank god." Teagan breathed, already unfastening the seatbelt before Avery had even stopped the car completely; Teagan was already out of the car and in Isaac's arms before Avery got her own door shut.

"What are you doing here?" Scott asked them, avoiding Avery's gaze.

"Isaac!" Teagan exclaimed, relief flooding over her face.

"I was going to call you when we got inside." He admitted, folding his arms around her in a tight embrace.

Looking up Avery saw one of Scott's neighbors watching them, as she looked back to the two teenage boys she said, "I think we should head inside, away from prying eyes, you're both bloody."

As the group of four made their way inside, Teagan asked "Are you okay?"

"A little beat up, but I'm healing." Isaac said, feeling bad for making her worry about him so badly.

"Are you okay?" Avery asked, seeing how Scott's shirt was covered in blood.

He nodded, thinking he may be hurt but it was nothing compared to what happened to Derek.

"Boyd, was over after school, and he told me. Then no one would answer their phones!" Avery stated, as she crossed her arms over her chest.

Teagan bit down on the inside of her cheek, she wasn't used to Avery being so close to Boyd and Cora, a part of her was still shocked how upset Avery was about Erica's death.

Scott nodded, he'd forgotten about Avery's new found friendship with Boyd.

When Scott didn't speak, Isaac said "They're both okay."

"Good." Avery said letting out the breath she'd been holding.

Teagan smiled at the news, she was happy to hear they hadn't lost anyone.

Neither girl was too worried about Derek, they thought with him being an alpha he would have stood a better shot against the pack than his beta wolves. Plus, why would Deucalion kill someone he was trying to recruit.

Avery looked down to where some blood was dripping to the floor from Scott's side.

"They got you pretty bad." She observed.

Teagan looked at Isaac, above all else she was happy he was alive.

"Do you have a first aid kit?" Avery asked.

"My mom keeps one in the bathroom." Scott answered, not making eye contact with her.

Teagan saw Scott and Isaac exchange looks briefly when Avery left the room.

"What?" Teagan asked.

Neither of them answered and Teagan started to ask them again what the look they gave each other was for, but then she saw deep scratches across Isaac's back.

"Can I see that?" Teagan questioned as Avery returned.

Nodding she handed the box to her friend.

Teagan had Isaac sit on the coffee table and started to clean and tend to the deep cuts.

"How bad is it?" Isaac questioned, wincing from the pain.

Leaning over Avery said, "Well… I can see tissue." Her nose wrinkled in disgust as she spoke.

"Great." Isaac exclaimed sarcastically.

"It's okay, you're healing." Teagan assured him, then looked to Scott who seemed to look worse by the minute.

"Are you?" She questioned.

"I'm fine." Scott said, as he looked at Avery.

They may not have been the closest of friends but they were still friends, and he knew how much Avery loved Derek.

"I know a thing or two about first aid, I can patch you up." Avery offered as she glanced over at Teagan and Isaac.

"I don't need patched up… I need to tell you something." He finally admitted a few minutes later.

His dark brown eyes met hers for a few seconds before he looked down to the floor.

"Tell us something?" Avery questioned.

"You mainly." Scott mumbled under his breath, knowing that the loss would affect Avery more than anyone else.

"Scott?" Teagan questioned, as she taped the last gauze to Isaac's back.

"This wasn't supposed to happen… I went there to try and talk to Deucalion, make a deal or something with him." Scott began to explain.

Seeing how much he was struggling with it, Isaac stood up from where he'd been sitting and said "But everyone else was there too… Derek didn't want to make peace with them, he wanted a fight."

"You both better start talking…" Avery said when several moments of silence had passed.

"Avery…" Isaac said, taking a few steps towards his friend.

Who backed up in response, and the wolves could hear her already racing heart.

"No, I have to tell her… this is all my fault." Scott stopped him.

Isaac looked over at Teagan when he heard her heart pick up speed also.

With the way they were talking to her best friend, Teagan had a pretty good idea whatever they needed to say was bad, and it was about Derek.

"Scott?" Avery asked, as she shook her head back and forth, hoping she was wrong about what he was going to say

"I'm so sorry." He managed to stutter out, as he could hear her heart beating even more erratically as she back farther away from the group.

"Derek's dead." He finally admitted.

Avery looked like someone had just punched her in the chest and knocked the air out of her, and Scott was pretty sure her heart stopped beating.

Tears immediately welled up in Teagan's eyes, she knew exactly how Avery was feeling. It wasn't all that long ago that Jackson had died and she thought she'd lost him for good.

Losing someone you love is the worst feeling in the world, and she wished she could help take the pain from her best friend.

"Avery…" Isaac said, as he realized she hadn't even taken a breath since Scott broke the news.

Finally gasping for air she stuttered out, "I… uh. Uh, thanks for telling me…"

With that she quickly turned and rushed for the front door. Teagan started after her, knowing she was doing what she always did, shut people out. But Scott made it out the door first.

"I'm so sorry." Scott repeated as he came to stop behind her as she reached her car.

Facing away from him and putting her hands on the warm metal hood of her, she shook her head back forth trying to hold it together as she said, "I should have… done something, done anything. I knew Derek was going after them and I just waited at home."

He listened to her heart rate change from almost non-existent to racing as she refused to look back at her friends, with a frustrated scream she brought her fists down so hard on her car it shot pains all the way to her elbows.

She just wanted out there, away from everyone. Then she could break down.

"There wasn't anything you could have done… this is my fault. It's my fault Derek's dead." Scott assured her, knowing she felt guilty. But he also truly believed it was his fault the older werewolf was gone.

She violently shook her head back and forth, her fingers digging into her scalp as she roughly pulled on the roots of her hair.

Opening her mouth she meant to tell Scott it wasn't his fault, but all that came out when was, "But he's an alpha… how could this have happened!"

"They were just to strong..." Scott said about the alpha pack.

"I… gotta go. I have to get out of here." She gasped for air and turned sideways trying to reach her car door.

But Scott caught her just in time as her legs buckled beneath her and she lost all control of her held her tightly as she clutched onto his blood-soaked shirt, sobbing loudly.

Through her tears she was barely able to see Isaac holding Teagan on the porch, as she cried for her heartbroken best friend.

(End of flashback)

Teagan softly sighed as she rested her elbow on the armrest and glanced out the window looking at the same scenery for the last several minutes since they were stuck in traffic.

Lydia checked her cellphone and announced that there was a tractor trailer a few miles ahead involved in a wreck which was causing the hold up, but Teagan didn't hear all of that, she was lost in her own little world until she heard her cellphone beep, which was something it had been doing a lot while they were stuck and it was starting to annoy both Allison and Lydia.

The red-head in front finally spoke up and said, "Teagan, would you please answer your phone. Apparently it is super important or the person wouldn't be blowing up your phone."

Teagan shook her head then said,"It's just Isaac."

"Is everything ok with you two?" Allison asked with a concern look, as she glanced back at Teagan in the rear view mirror.

"Yeah, I'm just... I'm just a little hurt and annoyed at him right now." Teagan answered, then added ,"He knew how I felt about him being involved with going after the alpha pack. We had talked about it beforehand and had agreed it was too dangerous, but then he talked to his pack and went with them. It's like their opinion is more important than mine and that hurts."

"I understand that. I use to hate when Scott went along with the pack. Even if it was the right thing, I was always so scared of him getting hurt." Allison said, as she nodded her head in understanding. She thought back to the night of the fight and how badly things got, then added, "But at least he is ok. Things could have ended up a lot worse for him."

"I still don't understand why they started that whole fight." Lydia spoke up and said, taking both girls by surprise.

"They didn't start anything, the alpha pack started all of this when they kidnapped my best friend and kept her hostage all summer." Teagan snapped, then added, "And let's not forget they killed Erica, did who knows what to Boyd and Cora, and lastly almost killed my boyfriend. The alpha pack had it coming."

"They still didn't have to go after them." Lydia stated with a shrug, before looking back down at her book, causing Allison to asked, "Is that what Aiden told you?"

"Aiden?" Lydia asked, then said,"Whoa, whoa, whoa, hold on a second. Is that why you two invited me on this whole little road trip thing?"

Lydia looked at the expression on her friends faces then said,"Oh, my gosh, you're keeping an eye on them and me."

"So there's nothing going on between you two?" Allison asked, as she glanced over at Lydia.

Lydia softly gasp as she looked over at Allison, then turned her head to look at Teagan, who was waiting on her answer. She turned back to look at Allison then said, "I'm appalled by the insinuation."

"Seriously? Nothing is going on? Nothing at all?" Teagan asked her red-headed friend.

"Nothing." Lydia asserted, as she looked at them both again.

"Look, all I'm trying to say is fighting is stupid." Lydia pointed out, she turned her head to look at Teagan as she added,"Including yours and Isaac's. You two are like each others true love, we all know you two are going to be together forever, so just fix it and soon, so I don't have to hear your stupid phone again."

As if on cue, Teagan's phone beep again, letting her know she had a new text message, causing Lydia to groan out loud before reaching back and grabbed Teagan's phone, which had been resting in her lap, Ignoring Teagan's protest and started reading through the many text messages Isaac had been sending his girlfriend.

"He says he is really sorry." Lydia commented.

"I'm sure he is." Teagan said back with a sigh.

"He says he will do whatever to get you to forgive him." Lydia added, after the phone went off once again.

"It's not about what he can do now, it's about what he did to begin with." Teagan said, then added, "I know you're right and I know we need to fix this and I even understand that he has a pack that is like a family to him, but he and I are a team or at least we are suppose to be."

As Allison nodded her head in agreement, Lydia spoke up and said, "But let's just see what we can get him to do."

"Lydia, don't!" Teagan called out, as she leaned forward to jerk her cellphone out of Lydia's hand but was it too late. Not only had Lydia already sent him a text, but she pulled the phone away from her hands to keep her from taking it back.

When the phone beeped again, Lydia pulled up the message and said, "He said, 'whatever, just name it'."

"Hmm. What should we make him do." Lydia wondered out loud, as she chewed her bottom lip in thought.

"Lydia, that's enough. Give it back." Teagan called out from the backseat.

"Ok guys, stop. You're going to make me wreck." Allison warned them, when Teagan leaned forward trying to take the phone away from Lydia with no luck.

"We're going like two miles per hour. Even if you did hit something, I think we'll be alright." Lydia said sarcastically, as she pulled the phone away from Teagan again, causing Allison to giggle from the driver's seat.

"Lydia, I am serious. Give me the phone." Teagan called out.

"Wait, I got it." Lydia suddenly said out, ignoring Teagan as she begin to type out of a message.

"Lydia, no!" Teagan called out.

"Don't worry, you will thank me later." Lydia said with a grin.

"What did you tell him to do?" Allison questioned.

Lydia showed her the last text she had sent Isaac, causing her mouth to drop open before she began to laugh out loud.

"Oh, my God. I cannot believe you typed that." Allison said with another laugh, then added, "He's got to know that didn't come from Teagan."

"What did you say?" Teagan questioned.

Lydia ignored her question and looked down at the phone when it beeped again, she laughed then said, "Well either way he said he will do it."

"Do what?" Teagan asked, as she reached for the phone again, this time Lydia let her have it. She quickly read over the last text Lydia had sent to him, a very dirty text asking him to do something they had never done before, causing her face to heat up and turn bright red.

"Oh my God." Teagan breathed out, then looked over at her red-headed friend as she called out her name in surprise.

"Trust me T, you will be thanking Lydia for that one later." Allison said with a giggle, as she glanced up to look at Teagan in the rear view mirror.

"You've done this before?" Teagan questioned her.

"Yeah, me and Scott did it once and let me tell you... wow, it will blow your mind." Allison answered, feeling her cheeks turn a little pink as she remembered that night between them.

"I still cannot believe you told him to do that." Teagan mumbled, as she looked over at Lydia.

Lydia turned in her seat to look at Teagan, flashing her a smile, as she called out, "You're welcome!"

Teagan rolled her eyes and chuckled before opening her mouth to say something, but before she could her phone begin to ring, causing Allison and Lydia to laugh out, as Lydia said, "Damn that boy is eager. He must be calling to find out when you two are going to do it."

"No, it's not Isaac, it's Stiles." Teagan said with a surprised look on her face, as she put the phone up to her ear.

"Hey Stiles!" Teagan called out happily, then added, "I can't really talk, we're uh, we just walked into a movie and ..."

"I know you guys are right behind us. Put me on speaker." Stiles said over the phone.

"Right, ok." Teagan mumbled, as she put her phone on speaker then leaned toward the front of the car, holding her phone out so they all could hear what he was saying.

"Ok, look, Scott's still hurt." Stiles said, getting right to the point.

"What do you mean still? He's not healing?" Allison asked with a worried look on her face.

"No, he's not healing. I think he's actually getting worse." Stiles said, then added, "The blood's turning, like, a black color."

"W-What's wrong with him?" Lydia asked, from what she was told, healing was supposed to heal pretty quickly for werewolves.

"What's wrong with him? I don't... do I have a PhD in lycanthropy? How am I supposed to know that?" Stiles said back sarcastically.

"We need to get him off the bus." Teagan stated, like the others she was extremely worried about Scott. Things did not sound good, but the selfish part of her couldn't help but think, 'thank god it wasn't Isaac'.

"And take him where, a hospital?" Lydia asked.

"If he's dying, yeah." Allison said back.

Teagan shook her head as she added, "I want to help Scott just as bad as you all do, but taking him to a hospital is a very bad idea."

Allison thought about what she said and knew deep down she was right, she just hated the thought of Scott in pain and not getting any better. She bit her bottom lip in thought then said, "Stiles, there's a rest area about a mile up. Tell the coach to pull over."

"Yeah, I've been trying." Stiles said with a sigh.

"Well, reason with him." Teagan spoke up.

"Reason? Have you met this guy?" Stiles asked sarcastically.

"Just try something." Allison snapped, as she rested her arms on the steering wheel with a sigh.

"Fine." Stiles snapped back, as he ended the call.

"It's going to be ok." Teagan said quietly, as she rested a hand on Allison's shoulder, hoping her words would reassure her and herself. "We'll get him off that bus and check him out. Maybe he's not as bad as we fear." She added.

"I just hope we have enough gas to make it to the rest stop." Lydia pointed out, causing the other two girls to look down at the fuel gauge and seeing that they were basically running on fumes.

"Crap." Allison mumbled, as she said a silent little prayer to herself.

Thankfully the car had enough gas left to get the girls to the rest area. Somehow Stiles was able to convince the coach to stop, although none of the girls wanted to know what he did to accomplish that. With Stiles there was no telling what he did.

As soon as Allison parked her car, the three girls jumped out, rushing over to the bus right as Stiles walked down the stairs holding up a weak Scott. Teagan softly gasp when she saw how bad of shape he was in, now she understood why Stiles sounded so worried over the phone, Scott looked like he was about to drop dead at only moment.

Allison rushed over to Scott, letting him lean against her as she and Stiles led him toward the restrooms. Lydia and Teagan walked behind them until Teagan heard someone call out her name.

While the others walked into the building, Teagan turned around and saw Isaac jogging over toward her. She held up a hand to stop him as she said, "Not now Isaac."

Isaac came to a stop, a hurt expression on his face, which killed her to see, but with everything going on with Scott, now was not a good time for them to talk.

"Teagan you can't keep avoiding me." Isaac said, pleading with her as he added, "I'm sorry ok? You're right, the whole fight thing was a bad idea but I..."

"Isaac, seriously, not right now." Teagan said again, as she went to walk into the restroom to check on Scott, but before she could, Stiles and Lydia rushed out and begin to walk toward the bus.

"Hey, guys! Lydia! Stiles!" Teagan called out, as she rushed after them with Isaac following along behind her. She lightly grabbed Stiles' arm, stopping him, "What is going on?"

"He's dying." Stiles said, as he ran his fingers through his hair in frustration, then added, "He's freaking dying, cause of Derek."

"Who's dying?" Isaac asked confused.

"Scott." Teagan answered, looking at him for a moment, before looking over at Lydia and Stiles to say, "So wait... That's why he's not healing?"

"Why isn't Scott healing?" Isaac asked, feeling even more confused, he couldn't understand why he and Boyd were fully healed but Scott wasn't.

While Stiles paced back and forth in front of them, Lydia spoke up and said, "We think it's psychological, that it's all in his head."

"Since he feels so guilty about Derek dying he's not letting himself heal?" Teagan questioned, then added after Lydia nodded her head, "So what should we do? Somehow convince him he is healing?"

"That's what Allison is doing now. She's stitching him up." Lydia answered.

Teagan wrinkled her nose in disgust. Just the thought of sewing someone up made her sick to her stomach. She didn't know how Allison could do it, she just hoped like hell this would work. She couldn't stop herself from looking over at Isaac for a moment, thanking whatever higher power that had kept him safe that night.

"Is there anything we can do while she's doing that?" Teagan asked, once she finally pulled her eyes away from Isaac to look back over at Lydia and Stiles.

"We need to get Scott a new shirt to change into." Lydia answered.

"Where's his bag?" Teagan asked, as she glanced over at Stiles, who was still pacing. He was too nervous to stand still.

"It's on the bus towards the back." Stiles said, then began to ramble, "We were sitting at the very back and put our bags behind us. It's black and red and says 'nike'. Actually all of them look that way so..."

"It's ok, we'll find it." Teagan said, interrupting him. She looked over at Isaac then cut her eyes at Stiles, silently asking him to help keep him calm while she and Lydia were gone.

When Isaac nodded his head, letting her know he would watch out for Stiles, she lightly grabbed Lydia's arm as the two turned and walked around the bus, making their way toward the stairs and climbed on board. They made their way toward the back, grabbing the first bags they came across. Thankfully each bag had a tag with the owners name on it.

A few bags later, she finally found the one with Scott's name on it and opened it up. Grabbing the first shirt she saw as she called out to Lydia, telling her she found it. She tossed the shirt to Lydia, telling her to take that to Allison, then zipped the bag back up and put it back where she had found it before making her way off of the bus.

As soon as she stepped off the last step, she felt someone grab her shoulder, thinking it was Isaac, she turned around only to realize it was Ethan, causing her to gasp out in surprise.

"What do you want?" Teagan breathed out, as she took a step back from him. She tried to think back to some of the self defense moves Allison taught her in their first lesson, but before she could do anything, Ethan took a step toward her, causing her to take another step back, her back slamming into the bus.

"You know all I have to do is scream and someone will come running. Actually I don't even have to scream, Isaac will hear me and he'll..."

"I'm not going to hurt you." Ethan interrupted her while rolling his eyes. "I know Aiden told you –you need to stay out of things, but since you didn't listen to him, I thought I would give it a try." He added.

"Why do either one of you care what I do?" Teagan questioned.

He glanced away from her, looking off to the side like he was remembering something. Remembering a time when someone innocent lost their lives. He could still see his pack ripping into the woman in his mind. A completely innocent woman who didn't deserve to die, someone who had a family waiting for her at home, but because of her connection to the supernatural she was never going home again.

Ethan could swear he could still see her hazel eyes looked up at him, as if pleading with him to help her, although she never asked. It was like she accepted her death and the only word she spoke was her daughter's name as she took her last breath.

Ethan shook his head, trying to get the image out of his head, then turned to look at Teagan and said, "Because despite what you and your friends think, not all of us are as bad as you think."

"Deucalion has a plan, you are not part of the plan and as long as you don't mess with that plan you'll be ok." Ethan said, then continued, "You do not want Deucalion as an enemy."

"What plan?" Teagan asked.

"Just walk away Teagan." Ethan said, ignoring her question.

As he turned to walk away, she grabbed his arm, planning to ask him again what the big plan was even though her heart was racing in fear. She knew he could hear it, but she didn't care, she wasn't going to back down, but before she could say a word, Ethan turned back around, his eyes flashing red and out of instinct pushed her back, causing her to slam into the bus and fall to the ground.

She looked up at him in surprise and for a moment thought she saw a look of guilt in his eye, but figured it was her imagination. She watched him turn around and went to walk away until Isaac came around the bus, seeing a scared looking Teagan sitting on the ground, and without a word threw a punch at Ethan, knocking him down.

Teagan scrambled up from the ground and rushed over to them, calling out to Isaac to stop, but it was like he couldn't hear a thing as he continued to punch Ethan.

She opened her mouth to yell out for him again, but before she could she heard the coach as well as the other students rush over to them. Coach and Danny grabbed Isaac, trying to pull him off of Ethan, but he shrugged them off and went back to hitting him in the face.

Teagan saw Stiles, Allison, Lydia and Scott, who was already starting to look better compared to before, coming over toward them. Scott yelled out Isaac's name, causing him to pause for a moment before he went back to beating up Ethan. Scott looked over at Teagan, both at a loss on how to stop him, until she opened her mouth and screamed out his name as loud as she could, causing him to finally stop as he looked over at her. He could tell his actions had scared her and he felt guilty and ashamed about that.

Isaac took a few steps toward her, panting out an apology. She shook her head at him as she grabbed his hand and pulled him away from the crowd so they could talk in private.

"What the hell where you thinking?" Teagan hissed out at him, then added before he could answer, "Starting one fight with alphas wasn't enough, you had to start another one?"

"I heard your heart racing; you were terrified." Isaac explained.

Teagan breathed out a bitter chuckle, then said, "I'm always terrified Isaac. Always!"

"If it's not hunters, it's kanimas and alphas, but what scares me the most is when my boyfriend jumps into fights without a second thought." Teagan cried, then added, "I know you're a big powerful werewolf but Ethan is a big powerful alpha, who belongs to be a big powerful alpha pack who has already killed Erica and Derek. Not to mention what they did to Avery, Boyd and Cora, and we almost just lost Scott. They are more powerful than anything we have faced and going against them with no plan is going to get you killed and I can't... I can't lose you, Isaac. I can't!"

"Hey, it's ok, come here." Isaac said softly, as he wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her toward him. As she buried her face in his shirt, he kissed the top of her head, apologizing over and over again for worrying her.

He laid his hands on either side of her face, lifting her head so he could look down at her before leaning forward and pressing his lips against hers for a sweet kiss.

"I'm sorry. Baby, I'm so sorry." Isaac mumbled again before pressing his mouth against hers for another kiss, tasting the salty tears on her lips.

She nodded her head at him, accepting his apology and telling him it was ok, as he wiped the tears from her face. He gave her a small smile as he softly asked, "Are you still my girl?"

Teagan smiled at his question, as she whispered out, "Always."
