"We are talking about this, right now!"

"Leave me alone Dorcas." Said James, he was pacing through one of the castles endless passageway's, something he would one day know like the back of his hand. However he was trying to get away from someone, someone who he didn't really want to see. Dorcas was running behind him to catch up with him, he wondered how long it would be before she showed up to give him a rollicking.

"I don't think you heard me." Said Dorcas, "We are talking about this, right now, whether you like it or not!"

"You're not my mum." Said James, "So please stop acting like it."

"Well then stop acting like a bloody toddler!"

"Ok." James turned round in the hallway, so he was facing her. Her face was flushed and she looked angry.

"Why the hell are you defending Snape anyway, he attacked me!" said James.

"You made a public whitewash of him." said Dorcas, "He hadn't done anything to you."

"Apart from rat me and the guys out and then curse me while my guard was down, no, nothing at all." Said James sarcastically.

"It was your own fault for getting caught." Said Dorcas.

"It still doesn't explain why you're defending him?" said James. "You hate Snape as much as the next person."

"I do not hate him. And that's not the point, you were bullying him James."

"It wasn't bullying." Said James, "You sound like Evans."

"She told me what you were doing, how…how could you of all people think that's ok?" said Dorcas. James turned and walked back down the hall.

"If you're going to bring up what I think you are then you're wasting your time." said James. "It's not the same thing."

"No." said Dorcas shaking her head sadly. "It isn't. And that's what pains me." She turned and walked away to.

James looked down at his feet and then ran a hand through his hair. He looked around before making off again to the castle.

"Who the hell did he think he is?" Said Lily angrily. "And to think he's just gotten away with it." Lily huffed and turned the page of the old text book roughly so it opened on the table.

"Maybe if we get some witnesses." Said Sev, "Get them to say what happened."

"They won't." Said Lily, "It's Slytherin's versus Gryffindor's, there's no way we'll get the whole truth."

"There has to be a way to get back at him." said Sev.

"You did, remember?" Said Lily. "You caught him before they spiked your laundry."

"But they made it turn pink." Said Sev bitterly, "And what he did to me earlier."

"Sev, just don't." said Lily. "If he sees that it gets under your skin he'll keep on doing it, that's how he works."

"So I'm just supposed to let him get away with It." asked Sev.

"No…" said Lily, "But if you go back then he will to, and then you'll both keep on doing this till one of you gets bored with it." Lily gave Sev an imploring look. Reluctantly, he nodded in defeat.

"Thank you." Said Lily, "Now, what have used to back up the conclusion for the DADA homework."

James threw the mini quaffle up in the air and caught it on its decent down. He was bored, really, really, bored. He looked over at Sirius in his bed who to was looking useless, then Lupin who was reading, and then to Pete who was looking at James.

James threw the quaffle at Sirius. He looked over at James.

"What?" he asked.

"Want to get something to eat?" he asked.

"Were not allowed out of the tower." Said Lupin. "McGonagall's orders remember?" James sat up on his bed and ran a hand through his hair.

"Aren't you forgetting what we have though?" said James grinning. He pulled the cloak out from underneath his bed.

"You know, it amazes me how you don't lose that thing." Said Sirius, catching on with his idea. James laughed and looked over at the other two.

"You ladies coming or is it just me and Sirius?" Remus shook his head. James rolled his eyes. "Of course, Pete?"

"I promised Pete I'd help him with his defence against the dark arts homework." Said Remus, giving Peter a stern look. Peter though looked like he was ready to bound off. He looked at James, then at Remus, and then back again, before sighing in defeat.

"I can't guys." He said. "I'll stay here."

"Well, we'll leave you and Miss Remus here while we go and get food. Come on James." James unfolded the cloak and threw it over them. They opened the door and went out.

"Get over, you're stepping on my foot." Said James.

"No, you get over on your side!" hissed Sirius. James hissed him quiet as they reached the common room. It wasn't that busy considering curfew was an hour away, they sneaked out of the portrait hole and made their way towards the kitchens.

"Spooky this place at night, isn't it." said Sirius.

"Not scared that nearly headless nick will come round will you?" teased James. Sirius punched him lightly.

"Nah mate." He said, "But…since where out, fancy going on another adventure?"

"Beyond the kitchens?" asked James. Sirius nodded.

"I heard these seventh years talking about a supposed secret passageway to Hogsmede." Said Sirius. James stopped.

"Where?"

"One of them said something about it being on the third floor." Said Sirius, "Apparently, an old plan of Hogwarts said it was there." James had that glint in his eyes. That made Sirius join in with the grin.

"Try and find it."

"Where much smarter than seventh years." Said Sirius. "But we need that map of yours." James grinned and pulled it out of his pocket. They opened it so it folded out of the third floor.

"You said that you sketched this out from the old maps." Said Sirius. James frowned as his finger scanned the parchment.

"But there isn't a passageway out." Said James.

"Maybe it's recent." Said Sirius. "Maybe in the last fifty years?"

"More like five hundred." Said James. "But maybe we can align them." Sirius looked confused into mid-air before turning to James with the same look.

"How?"

"We need a map with Hogwarts and Hogsmede." Said James. "Because there should be a place that they both intersect." Explained James. "So where going to the library." Sirius pulled a face.

"You have a bloody invisibility cloak, and you want to go to the library to study?" said Sirius. "God help your kids."

"Do you want to get to Hogsmede or not?" asked James.

"Yes."

"Then we have to do the research first." said James. "Then I promise we can sneak into the girls shower room."

"We bloody well better." Said Sirius following him.

After negotiating themselves to the library, James tried to open it, only to find it sealed shut. Sirius laughed.

"Well that buggers up our plan for world domination." He said. James tutted and got down on his knees.

"Small set back." Said James getting out a paper clip, he broke it in half and then used his wand to turn one half into a screwdriver. He fiddled with the lock for a while before it snapped open.

"Bingo." James stood up and pushed the door open. The room was dark with only the outlines of the bookshelves. The two boys walked in and looked around the room.

"I knew education was scary." Said Sirius. "Looks like something out of a horror."

"You shit yourself during Dracula." Said James. "This is nothing." He held up his wand. "Lumos." The end of his wand burst into a bright light.

"Better?" Asked James mockingly. Sirius scowled.

"Alright, where do we need to look?" asked Sirius.

"We need land records." Said James.

"Why those?"

"So we can find any secret passages."

"Yes, over ground you idiot." Said Sirius. "They won't keep a book in here about how to sneak out, then everyone would have figured it out by now."

"True." Said James looking round the dark library. "Ok, what do you suggest we do?"

"Go sneak into the girls shower room." said Sirius. "This is hopeless."

"It was your idea to go looking for this place." Said James. "You need to follow through on things like this and not leave it to me to figure it out." Sirius shook his head.

"Right, ok, where do we start with this then?" asked Sirius. James nodded to the right and both him and Sirius looked round to see the restricted section.

It was a small section of the library that was sectioned off from students and could only be entered with a teachers permissions.

"There is no way you're going to be able to pick that." Said Sirius.

"Your right there." Said James smirking. Before Sirius could say another word James ran over and jumped onto the metal bars. He then pulled himself up to the spikes at the top. James breathed deeply and then carefully positioned his feet on two bars. He then pushed off and flipped himself open.

He landed with a stumble and then stood up while brushing himself down. He looked over at Sirius.

"Come on precious." He said grinning. "Keep up." James lit his wand up and looked round at the books. He ran his fingers over the covers.

Wonders of the Ancient magical world.

Cryptozoology the last great beasts.

Master Potioneering.

"UMPH!" James turned round and saw Sirius in a crumpled heap.

"It's not what it looks like." He said as he got to his feet.

"Sure." Said James. "Come on, we need to find something on land records."

James and Sirius fanned out round the section looking at titles. James found some pretty interesting books but nothing on Hogwarts. James moved further down to bookshelves and sighed.

"Anything?"

"No." said Sirius.

"This is hopeless mate." Said Sirius. James kneeled down and looked down and the titles.

"It has to be here." Said James as he got to the end of his shelf and looked down another one. Maybe Sirius was right and this was hopeless. But the thought of discovering a secret passage way to Hogsmede and to Zonko's.

And then he saw it.

Hogwarts secrets

"There you are." James heaved out a big book and carried it over to the table in the middle of the room and smacked it on the table. He blew the dust off and opened it up.

"Sirius, over here." Sirius came over and stood next to him.

"This is it?"

"Hopefully." Said James as he looked down the index. "There we go, maps."

James opened it to the maps page which showed a detailed map of Hogwarts and surrounding areas.

"What are these?" asked Sirius pointing to some small tunnels. James looked at them and then at the date.

"Hogwarts was one of the main battlements in the Scottish civil war." Said James. "Hogwarts would take in wizard refugees and then smuggle them into Hogsmede and then them back as muggles."

"So maybe the path where looking for is an old tunnel." Said Sirius. He frowned at the book. "But most of them are outside." James's eyes scanned the area, he then pointed at one that went into Hogwarts.

"Maybe that one." said James.

"Where does that lead in relation to Hogwarts?" asked Sirius. James pulled out his own map.

"On the first floor…"

"What is it?" asked Sirius.

"A brick wall?" said James. He turned to page to the second floor. He shoved Sirius and pointed at the same spot.

"Another brick wall." Said Sirius. James then turned the page and laughed. He hugged Sirius round his shoulder and pointed. It was right in between Flitwick's charms rooms.

"Look, it now goes to a corridor." Sirius frowned.

"Why that good?" asked Sirius. James pointed at the map.

"What's in between Flitwick's charms rooms?" Sirius thought for a second before realisation hit his face.

"The one eyed witch." He said slowly grinning while James nodded. Both cheered and high fived.

"That's bloody awesome!" Said Sirius. He breathed out while James ruffled his hair. "So, how do we get to the passage?"

"Let's see what it has to say about the witch first." said James. He turned back to the index and looked down.

"What do you reckon it will be under?"

"Statues, maybe?" said Sirius.

"Ha, ha." Said James. But as strange as it was, there was a section on statues.

"Told you." said Sirius.

"Shut up." Said James as he turned the pages to the section. He turned a couple more pages till he found the one eyed witch.

"What is it?" asked Sirius.

"It was created by a man who's love was in Hogwarts." Said James. "Around the time the Scottish civil war was going on. He dug a path from the shop he owned from Hogsmede to here, he would meet up with her until his father found out."

"So she was a witch." Said Sirius.

"It would make sense." Said James. "And make explain the next bit."

"What happened?" asked Sirius.

"Her lover father found out about the affair." Said James sadly. "He went to see her and forced her to stay away. He then he married his off to another women. When she refused to stop seeing him he gouged her eye out…"

"Dude, that is sick." Said Sirius.

"Different time then." Said James. "But apparently, she waited for him for years, before dying because of her wound, because she was so influential in the smuggling of wizards to England they made a statue of her which covered the tunnel." James nodded.

"So that's where it is." Said James, "He continued to read on. "But nothing on the actual path."

"They wouldn't put that in a book." said Sirius. "Maybe if we go the statue it might give us some answers."

"Might as well." Said James placing the book back. After scaling the metal fence again they exited the library and went back towards the tower to find the one eyed witch. The one the book told them about. Trying to conceal both of them under the cloak was more difficult than they thought as they reached the statue.

Now he knew the story behind it, it made the statue look all the more depressing. Her long beautiful hair trying to hide to hole where her eye used to be, and the look of regret and pain on her face made the statue altogether more real.

When they got there, James took the cloak off the both of them.

"Ok, here we are." Said Sirius. They both looked at the statue and then back to each other.

"That book never said anything about moving It." said Sirius. "Maybe we need to say a spell or something?"

"Maybe there's a clue on it?" said James. "Something that might make it move." He walked forward and felt around her arms, trying to find a bump of some sort.

"You really should by her a drink first." said Sirius.

"Ha, ha." Deadpanned James. "I can't see you trying to help."

"Because this is moronic." Said Sirius, watching curiously and James felt around the statue. He tried to supress a laugh. "You won't find anything."

"Neither will you with that attitude." said James. "So when I find this passageway I get the credit. Fine with you?"

"Yes, because you won't find it. Those seventh years where right." Said Sirius. "It is impossible."

"That was always your problem." Said James. "No…faith."

"I thought we agreed we have no problems." Said Sirius.

"And there's me already picking holes." Said James. "If this does go tits up, I'll take responsibility."

"Damn straight." Said Sirius. There was a large clunking sound, Sirius backtracked while James looked at him triumphantly.

"Is there anything on the front?"

"Yeah." Said Sirius shaking his head in disbelief. "Some text, on the front." James got round from behind the statue. "What did you press to get that."

"So dirty." Said James as he looked at the text in front of him.

I always fall to make you happy, I step aside to raise your pride, in the darkness I will dwell, to make you happy, so your dreams come true.

James frowned at it. He said it over and over again in his head, he ran a hand through his hair and narrowed his eyes at the text.

"What does it mean?" asked Sirius.

"Not sure." Said James. "But…it has to something to do with her." he said pointing at the witch.

"I will always fall to make you happy?" he repeated. "Maybe it has something to do with love?"

"Love?" Sirius snorted dismissively. "What makes you say that?"

"Didn't you read the book?" Asked James.

"It was a bloody book?" reasoned Sirius. James rolled his eyes.

"It told the story of a woman who went after a man she couldn't have. Hence, in the darkness I will dwell." James stood up and ran his hands through his hair in excitement.

"Why that?"

"Because it explains the next sentence." Said James. "To make you happy, this means that she knew he would never been hers."

"And?"

"So she descended into darkness. And here she is, in the darkest part of the castle." Said James. "Because she wanted to make him happy, so…so she came here, so he could be happy, out of the way." James nodded.

"And, how does that help us figure out the password?" asked Sirius.

"Easy." Said James. "She spiralled into depression, so she descended into depression." He lifted his wand up at the statue.

"And you know what that spell is?" Sirius shook his head, James smirked. "Thought not." He said. "Dissendium." He touched the statue with his wand and the statue slided backwards, it groaned as the old mafic became alert after what he could only assume to be decades of abandonment.

Both James and Sirius peered forward and looked down and the huge gaping hole in front of them. James looked to Sirius who shook his head.

"Sorry I doubted you mate." He said.

"Never mind." James got the map out and marked on it the witch, and the spell. He then looked to Sirius.

"So, bottoms up?" he said grinning. James stood up and jumped down the hole. It was narrower than he thought. He scraped down and landed on the floor, he held his wand up looked around. It was a large cavern with and earthy top and bottom, he looked down at the floor of dirt.

There was a large bang as James looked to his left and saw Sirius sprawled out on the floor in front of him.

"Happy landings?"

"Shut up." James pulled him up and they looked down at the passageway in-front of them. James held up his wand and looked down at the dark passageway.

"Where do you reckon it goes?" asked Sirius

"One way to find out." Said James taking to the lead. They descended down the passageway, it twisted and turned. James could sworn he was in a huge rabbit warren.

"Have you and Evans made up yet?" asked Sirius.

"She got pissed at her friend attacking me." Said James, "She thought that I was the one provoking him, not the other way around."

"He was out of order though." Said Sirius. "Greasy git. I always knew he was a weirdo."

"Guess we can put Evans in that group."

"You can put all girls in that group." Said James as they suddenly came to another chamber. James looked up and saw a tile at the top of the small room.

"We must be well out of the grounds now." said James. "Maybe near Hogsmede."

"Cool, we could wander round and do whatever we want." Said James. "I guess breaking in Zonko's is top of the list."

James lifted the tile. He moved it to the side and peered up, all he could see where boxes surrounding him. James pushed himself up into the room and held is wand up. There was racking around the room with boxes and more boxes on the floor.

"What's up there mate?" asked Sirius.

"Not sure." He said helping Sirius through the hole. James moved forward and opened one of the boxes. His face lit up.

"No, way."

"What? What is it?" said Sirius walking over towards him.

"We have made the best discovery in the history of Hogwarts." Said James. Sirius snorted.

"I doubt it." said Sirius. James turned round and held up a huge liquorice wand. Sirius's mouth dropped.

"No, way." James nodded and looked round the room till he saw a staircase with a set of doubles doors at the top. James crept over and placed his hands on the door, he looked back at Sirius who nodded. James opened the door.

"We've done it!" he beamed. He stood up and they looked around the sweetshop in front of them. Sweet jars filled to the brim, chocolate that was melt in your mouth good, and the best part. It was all theirs.

"We hit the Honeydukes cellar." Said James. Sirius joined him up top and gaped at the dark and deserted sweetshop. James moved around the aisles, he could take anything he fancied. Anything at all.

"We did it." said Sirius. "We actually did it."

"Wait until Remus and Pete hear about this." Said James. "They're going to be so jealous of us." Sirius rubbed his hands in glee.

"So, what do we need?" James looked around.

"Let's start with that twenty four pack of butterbeer."

James placed the tile back and used a levitating charm to hold up there load. They made their way back down towards the one eyed witch.

"This," Said James, as he tore of a piece of liquorice wand. "Is the best thing we've ever done."

"Agreed." Said Sirius.

"Who knows what else we could find round here." Said Sirius looking round the passageway.

"We've found one." said James. "I'm sure my dad knows a few more around here." They got to the hole and James prised it open.

"Were we going now?"

"Back to the common room to share the loot with Remus and Pete." Said James. "It's must be way past curfew now." They started to walk back towards the tower. Laughing and joking. As they were going down the corridor they saw a shadow move against one of the torches. James pushed Sirius to the side and threw the cloak over them. He shushed him quiet and they both went forward.

James peered round and saw Snape walking towards them. What was he doing out of bed at this time. James looked back at Sirius who nodded at him. They placed the loot down and remained under the cloak as Snape walked past. He looked down the corridor James and Sirius were in and then moved on down the hallway.

"Let's get him." whispered James. He shrugged the cloak of them and walked into the hallway.

"Hey Snivellus." Said James. He turned round like a shot. He looked at James and Sirius with wide eyes. He had drawn his wand and was in a defensive position.

"Potter." He said coldly, handling his wand more tightly. "What are you doing out, it's after curfew."

"Could ask you the same Snivellus." Said Sirius. "Past your bedtime though isn't it?" Snape narrowed his eyes coldly at the twosome.

"Amusing as usual Black." Said Snape. "But you could easily be in more trouble for this than I am." Both James and Sirius looked at each other.

"He has a point you know." Said James.

"Very true." Said Sirius. "I'm sure McGonagall would be really pissed if she caught us."

"Probably more detentions." Said James. "More gruesome than the last bunch."

"Yeah." Said James nodding, he then looked over at Snape and small smile curled at his lips. "What we could do is say we never saw you, you never saw us and let you be on your way."

Snape paused for a second, calculating the scenario in his head. He looked at the two of them curiously for a moment.

"Very well." He said turning on his heel and began to walk away from him and down the hallway. James shook his head.

"He never learns." He muttered to Sirius. He pulled his wand out. "Roparo!" The lasso shot out of James's wand. It snared Snape round his ankle. He yanked it and Snape hit the floor with a thud.

"Retracto." The wand started too real in his catch.

"Potter, let me go!" he shouted, "I'll tell everyone!"

"Yeah right." Said Sirius. "Try explaining that the other teachers about how you caught us." James laughed and disconnected the rope from his wand.

"Petrificus Totalus." Snape went rigid as a board on the floor. James holstered his wand and walked round to the front of Snape.

"You honestly thought I was going to let you get away with what you did." Said James. "Maybe this will make the message sink in and make you stay the hell away from me."

Lily pulled the pillow over her head; she didn't want to get out of bed. It was just too comfortable. Why couldn't it be a Saturday or Sunday? Instead, it was Friday.

"Come on Lils. Rise and shine." Said Dorcas pulling back her curtains. Lily glared at her and slowly sat up.

"What are you doing?" she asked. "The mornings are for sleeping."

"Maybe in Cokeworth but not here." Said Dorcas. "Come on, where all getting breakfast." Lily sighed and got out of bed and grabbed some clothes from her still bare wardrobe.

"Today better be a good day." She said to herself angrily. After showering and changing the group made their way down to the great hall. As they got to the third floor however. There was a huge crowd.

"What's the hold up?" asked Dorcas.

"Someone's been pranked." Said a Second year. "Quite funny to."

"What's happened?" asked Lily.

"Someone been left in the hallway overnight." Said the Second year. "He's hanging from the ceiling like a puppet. Had his clothes transfigured to girls ones. Quite funny actually." Lily giggled despite herself."

"Hey, it's that first year that challenged Potter to a duel." Someone further in front said.

"Gibbs?"

"Nah, what's his name? Uhm…Snivellus?"

"His name his Severus." Said Lily bursting through the crowd.

"Ah James. Not again." said Dorcas resting her ace in her palm. Lily fought her way through to see Sev hanging by ropes suspended from the ceiling in a skirt and tank top. She seethed angrily and saw Professor McGonagall and Professor Slughorn tending to him. Lily barged through towards them.

"It was Potter, I know it was!" shouted Lily.

"Miss Evans, calm down." Said McGonagall. "What evidence do you have to support this claim?"

"He's always had it in for Severus." Said Lily, acing up and down McGonagall's office. "And Severus said it was Potter and Black who did this to him. He was the one who did this."

"Miss Evans. Those four boys have been placed under curfew. They can't leave that tower without someone noticing."

"But Severus saw them though!" said Lily, "Doesn't that count for anything?"

"Unless he has an invisibility cloak, which I doubt he does, and a secret route out of the common room, which even we can't find, it can't be him. And besides, this magic was far beyond the capabilities of a first year."

"But he's not any other first year." Said Lily angrily. "He's James Potter. Have you seen the things he can do?"

"Impressive as they are, this is even beyond him." said McGonagall. "Rest assured, we will find whoever did this." Lily glared.

"He's having breakfast right now." she said bitterly.

"Leave your theories to yourself." Said McGonagall. "Now go off to class, and I'll see you later for my lesson." Lily huffed and walked away, he was going to pay dearly for this.

For some reason there was just no time to talk to him. He was busy, then she was busy, and by the time lessons were done he's already moved on to something else. It maddened Lily, she was that desperate for him to confess that she was starting to try and find him herself and gives him a piece of her mind. Her friends however weren't very supportive of this.

They had told her that all the evidence was pointing to someone else. Potter and Black had been in the dorm all night. But that's what they said when they spiked the laundry. They had a way for getting out, and Lily was going to find out what that was.

Finally, near the end of the day, she caught him and his friends alone by the courtyard near the centre of the castle. He was lounging and joking, Lily could never understand the mentality of the bully. Maybe it was just one of those things.

"Lily, please don't." said Sarah. "This obsession with him isn't healthy."

"She's right." Said Mary. "Look, the teachers said they'll handle it. Let them."

"Teachers don't do anything because there not the ones being bullied." Said Lily. "And besides. Someone needs to stand up to him." She marched over towards them.

"Potter!" she said loudly. He looked over at her and then back towards the group.

"Evans. To what do I owe the pleasure?" he asked.

"Severus Snape, what happened to him yesterday, know anything about it?" she asked.

"I did hear, shame about it." he said keeping a straight face. Lily shook her head.

"Drop the act. I know you did that to him." she said. "He told me."

"And if he said we were going to spend the rest of our lives together, you'd believe him then?"

"What?"

"My point being that were talking about things that have never happened." Said Potter, I was in my Dorm all night with four witnesses, five if you include that fat lady who didn't see anyone bar the prefect leave last night." Lily huffed. "So anyway you look at it, with my five against his zero, he's done to himself to get attention."

"He didn't do that."

"Maybe he has a thing for cross dressing." Said Sirius, "Wouldn't surprise me."

"No one asked you opinion Black." Said Lily. "Just admit it and take your punishment!"

"But I haven't done anything wrong." Said Potter shrugging. "If you find proof, then by all means, I will." Lily could feel the hate boiling in the bottom of her stomach.

"Can you take responsibility for once in your life!" she shouted. "Why can't you see you are wrong, I know you did it, the whole school knows you did, so just admit it!"

"I didn't do a damn thing." Said Potter standing up. "You're the one who's gone all out on this crazy façade, accusing me of things I've never done."

"You have done it, I know you have!" she shouted. "Stop acting like a bloody know it all and face the facts!"

"Stop acting like it's your divine right to get involved in other people's business!"

"Sev is my friend, so it is my business!"

"Oh, well here we are then, little Miss Evans, Hogwarts answer to a question that nobody asked!" said Potter. They both stood still for a moment looking at each other's angry expressions.

"Screw this." Said Potter picking his bag up. "I'm done." He then walked away. His footsteps ringing out as he walked.

Lily, breathed heavily as she watched that crop of hair walking away from her. She wasn't through with him just yet. She hadn't said her bit. She marched off after him.

"Lily, where are you going? Asked Dorcas.

"I'm not done with him yet!" said Lily walking off in the same direction as Potter. "Should we go after them?" asked Mary.

"I wouldn't." said Sirius. "Let them fight in peace." They stared to walk away. "I never knew Evans could shout like that."

She followed him till he got outside. She looked around and saw him heading towards the whomping willow. She set off in pursuit as he walked down the stone steps. Lily jogged to keep up with him, her cheeks burning as he disappeared into the woods. Lily got to the edge of the forest and peered in. She could See Potter weaving in and out of the trees. She dropped her bag and went after him.

"POTTER!" she shouted. He turned round and saw her. He groaned.

"What do you want now?" he asked fed up.

"I'm not through with you yet!" said Lily.

"Well I am with your stupid moral-"

"Stupid morals!" said Lily, following him deeper into the woods. "Not wanting my best friend bullied is stupid morals!"

"Yes, it's only fun Evans, Jesus get a life."

"Fun!" said Lily, now realising they must out of the school limits. "It may be fun or you, but how do you expect your prisoner to react!"

"My prisoner!" said Potter laughed while still moving deeper. "Stop being so melodramatic."

"You have no idea what this means to me!" Said Lily. "You were never bullied, but I was!"

"As you like to point out." said Potter sarcastically. Lily looked at him appalled.

"You're unbelievable you know that?" said Lily, now jogging to try and keep up with him. But he had much longer legs. "Why did I ever think you were a half decent human being?"

"Because you don't trust your instincts." Said Potter turning round and facing her. There was a strong breeze that flowed between the two of them. "That's why you're always second best here." Lily shook her head.

"I can't believe I'm hearing this." She said taking a step back, trying her best not to cry. "Jesus, Sev was right. You really are a conceited prick."

Lily heard a rusting; she then saw a figure behind Potter. She was frozen for a second, the figure then went to restrain him.

"Potter, behind you!" she shouted. Potter turned. But it was too late, the figure had grabbed Potter. He struggled against his assailants grip, he looked over at Lily who was still rooted to the spot.

"Evans, RUN!" he shouted. He punched his assailant in the face and he dropped Potter onto the ground. He then grabbed Potter again. Lily turned and ran.

"Let go of!"

WHAKK

Lily turned back and saw Potter falling to the floor with blood gushing from a wound on his head. The figure then looked up at Lily, Lily froze again.

"Get her!" he shouted.

Lily turned round and sprinted away from the scene, she needed to get back to the school, tell everyone what she saw.

"Get her!" the voice shouted again. Was there something else after her, to get her. All she needed to do was run, get back to the school.

BANG

Lily screamed as a branch beside her blew up sending shards everywhere. She stopped and pulled her wand out to face her attackers. She then saw a black figure descending towards her.

"I-I can hurt you!" Lily tried to warn.

"I'm sure you can miss Parks." He said, "But you won't want to do that."

"Try me." Said Lily. Trying to sound brave.

"Now, now." he said putting his hands up in the air. "Let's not fight.

"PROTEGO!" the blue shield erupted from her and charged down her attacker. He simply waved it away with a mere thought. Lily gulped, that was the most powerful spell she knew.

She was then scooped up from behind. She screamed and kicked the branches. "LET ME GO!" she screamed over and over again. She began to cry and they took her back towards Potter.

He was lying on the ground unconscious with blood pouring from his head. "HELP HIM!" shouted Lily.

"HE'S HURT, HELP HIM!" the two men stayed quiet as they dragged them deeper into the woods. Lily was still kicking and screaming, trying anything to get away or raise the alarm. They dragged them to a clearing.

"LET ME GO!"

"Shut up." One of the figures slapped Lily across her face, Lily whimpered as she the area around him started to disappear. She held her breath as they reformed somewhere else. A dark room, with a solidary light bulb swinging.

Lily looked forward, her face still glowing from the hand mark on her face. She could see someone in the darkness

"Did you get him?" Lily heard the new voice, except, this time, it was a thick Scottish accent. He moved into the light, he was tall, broad, with fiery red hair and… Lily breathed in deeply. His eye, it was fused shut with a pink scar going down from his eyebrow down to the top of his cheek.

"And who is she?" he asked pointing at Lily. Lily was too scared to reply. She was then pushed to the floor.

"Answer him!" The man in-front of him held his hand up.

"You should know who she is if you brought her here." He said. "So, I'll ask again then. Who is she?"

"…She's Isabel Parks." Said one of the men before. The ginger man's mouth curled into a smile.

"Isabel Parks eh? As in…Stanford Parks daughter?" he now looked at Lily with keen interest. Lily looked over at Potter who was still bleeding onto the floor.

"No, no." said Lily, "I'm, I'm not Isabel. My name is Lily."

"Yeah right, no trying to get yourself out of this." Lily started to cry.

"No, no, you don't understand, I'm a muggleborn, I'm not Isabel Parks, please, let me go!" she said tearfully.

"I think not Miss Parks." My name is Robert Murdoch." He moved towards her. "And I'll think you'll find your little fabrication won't fly with me."

"No, no." said Lily, tears streaming down her face. "I want my mum, please, let me go, I'll do anything."

"I'm afraid you're much to value to be left wandering around." He said, he snapped his fingers and pointed to a chair.

"Tie her up." He ordered. Lily started kicking and screaming. The two men finally forced her into the chair, then, he came over and pointed his wand at her. He didn't say anything, but, she felt light headed, and then…
