Chapter Twenty Four - Hello, My Sweet Girl

~ A Teen Wolf fanfiction collaboration between Miss E Charlotte and Sage Londyn.~

Teagan gasped as her eyes snapped open, realizing she was back in the tub of ice water. She grabbed on to the side of the tub, pulling herself up, and lowered her eyebrows in confusion when she realized she was back in the white room alone and not in the vet's office with everyone else.

"No." She breathed out, as she glanced from side to side, trying to figure out why she was still here. Was she not waking up? What was happening?

"No, no, no, no." She cried over and over again, as she pulled herself out of the tub, landing on the floor below with a loud thud.

She shakily stood up and folded her arms across her chest, pinching her arm, as she mumbled out, "Wake up Teagan, wake up. Please wake up."

Teagan squeezed her eyes closed, trying to imagine herself wake up at the animal clinic, seeing all her friends, seeing Isaac again, but when she opened her eyes and saw she was still in the white room, she cried out in frustration.

"Shh, it's ok sweet girl." She heard a familiar voice say from behind her.

Teagan quickly spun around and gasp in surprise at the dark headed woman standing before her. It was someone she thought she was never see again. It was her mother.

"Mom?" Teagan whimpered out.

"Hello, my sweet girl." Lisa said, as she smiled at her daughter.

"Mom." Teagan breathed out again, as she rushed over to her, throwing her arms around her and holding her tight.

Lisa let out a small breathy laugh, as she said, "Oh, my sweet Teagan, you have no idea how I much miss you, baby girl."

"I miss you too, mom." Teagan cried, as she held on to her tighter, afraid to let go.

After holding each other a few more minutes, Teagan pulled back and asked, "What are you doing here? What am I doing here?" Before her mother can answer, a thought crossed her mind, causing her to gasp, as she asked, "Wait... I'm not-I'm not waking up, am I? Am I dead?"

"No. You will wake up, I promise." Lisa said, putting her mind at ease. "You'll be waking up at any moment, which means we don't have a lot of time but I needed to talk to you first."

"About what?" Teagan asked, curious of what she had to say.

Lisa grabbed her hands, holding on to them right, as she began to say, "I never wanted this for you, Teagan. This is not the life you are supposed to have. These monsters you call friends will poison you."

"What? No!" Teagan snapped, as she jerked her hands away, and took a step back. She had never seen her mother look so angry before, she was nothing like the sweet, caring woman who raised her. "They are not monsters. We help people, we save people, we're trying to make this town better."

"You're just a kid, Teagan! You don't know anything!" Lisa snapped back, then added, "You have no idea what you, Scott and Stiles have done. You don't know the dangers that are coming your way. None of you are prepared and none of you are safe."

"I can't abandon my friends or-or Isaac! You don't turn your back on the people you love." Teagan said back, then added, "You should know that..you're the one who taught me that!"

"Yeah and look where that got me." Lisa said bitterly. "Teagan, listen to me, you need to-"

Teagan could see her mother's lips moving, but couldn't hear the rest of her sentence. It was like someone had hit mute all of a sudden, all she could hear was water splashing. She glanced behind her, at the metal tub, feeling drawn to it.

"Teagan!" Lisa snapped, getting her attention.

Teagan turned her head back to listen to her mother, but just like before she could see her talking, but couldn't hear a word she was saying. Instead, this time, she could faintly hear Isaac's voice as he called out her name and pleaded with her to come back to him. He sounded so sad and broken, making her want to be by his side right now.

"Isaac." Teagan breathed out, as she closed her eyes and wrapped her arms around herself, wishing it was his arms instead that were holding her.

She suddenly felt someone pull her body forward, causing her to snap her eyes open, as she began to cough up water. She gasped for breath, as she glanced around, realizing she was back at the vet's office.

She felt someone pushing her hair from her face, then turned her head toward them, realizing it was Isaac, who had tears in his eyes as he called out her name, asking she was ok.

After she didn't wake up like Stiles and Scott, he'd became concern. Deaton tried to explain it was normal, that some journeys took longer than others, but he wouldn't hear it. It had already been sixteen hours, that was long enough, but as more minutes ticked by he began to flip out, worried she was never going to wake up and suggested they wake her up. He was surprised that even Jackson backed him up on it, but Deaton was against it, at first.

But once she was under for another half of an hour, Deaton told Isaac to talk to her, try to pull her back. When that didn't work, Isaac reached in and pulled her out of the water, breathing a sigh of relief when she began to cough and breathe again.

Isaac lifted her up out of the tub, setting her feet back down on the floor. He glanced up for a moment, seeing that Jackson was holding out a blanket to him. He took it from his hands, flashing him a small smile of thanks, then wrapped the blanket around Teagan and himself. He pulled her toward him, not caring that she was getting his clothes wet, he just wanted to warm her up.

She kept her head down, her teeth chattering, as she tried to wrap her mind around what all happened. It seemed like everything happened so fast, but at the same time it didn't. It felt like she had been gone for hours or even days.

"Hey, hey, look at me." Isaac mumbled, as he pushed more of her damp hair from her face. He laid his hands on either side of her face, forcing her to look up at him, as he asked, "Are you ok?"

She nodded her head, then felt tears fill her eyes when she remembered the fear she felt earlier when she woke up in the white room alone. She was scared out of her mind, thinking she would never see Isaac again, but yet now here he was, staring at her with a tears in his own eyes.

Teagan nodded her head again, her face scrunching up, as the tears fell from her eyes and she breathed out, "I'm okay, I'm okay."

Isaac released a breath, he didn't even realize he was holding, then pulled her toward him again, as he rested his lips against her forehead. He wished her could hold her in his arms forever, after watching her floating under water for over sixteen hours, he felt like he needed to keep touching her and kissing her just to prove to himself that she was back, but he knew they were running out of time. They only had four hours until the full moon rises.

"Where were you?" Stiles asked out, getting her attention. When she turned her head to look at him, he continued, "You said you would catch up with us, but I never saw you."

"I was-I was in the white room." Teagan said, as she lowered her eyebrows in concentration, trying to remember what happened next. "I saw my mom, she was-she tried to tell me something but I couldn't understand her." She added, trying to remember what her mother told her. She saw flashes of the two arguing, but couldn't remember what it was about.

She closed her eyes for a moment, trying to will the memory to come back, then saw a quick flash of Avery, causing her to snap her eyes open with a gasp. "No wait! That was after. I saw my mom after I left the woods, but before that I saw Avery." She quickly explained, her time with Avery becoming clearer.

"What do you mean you saw Avery?" Scott questioned.

"Was that was your memory? Being in the woods with Avery?" Isaac asked.

"Yeah, it was when we were nine, but I mean, she was there." Teagan said, then added, "She was in the white room. She took me to the woods and helped me remember."

"Teagan… Avery was never there. There's no way she could have been." Stiles said.

"Maybe you just wanted to see her so badly that you imagined her." Jackson suggested.

"It's possible while you were out that your brain conjured up an image of Avery to make things less terrifying." Lydia added.

"No, no. no! She was there! I saw her!" Teagan yelled, as the others tried to explain she imagined seeing her best friend. They explained there was no way Avery could have appeared in the white room. Even Deaton explained how risky and dangerous it would be, that it was only something an emissary would know how to do and without an anchor there it would be impossible for her to do the same thing they did.

Teagan shook her head at their words, she didn't care what they said, she knew what she saw. She raised her arms, running her hands through her hair in frustration. She opened her mouth to argue, but before she could say a word, Isaac grabbed one of her hands, as he asked, "Wait, what is that? Where did it come from?"

Teagan looked down at her hand in confusion then gasped when she saw it was a butterfly sticker. It looked just like the one Avery gave her when they were nine, the one in her sticker book that she didn't want to give away at first. It was the prettiest one in the book, and even now, it was still one of the prettiest stickers she had ever seen. It still looked as new as it did the day she placed it on her hand.

She lightly traced the outline of the sticker, as another memory filled her mind. She flashed back to Avery hugging her in the woods and placing a butterfly in the palm of her hand. She softly gasped when she realized the sticker looked exactly like that butterfly.

Teagan raised her head to look at Isaac, tears filled her eyes, as she said, "It's from Avery. She gave it to me."

She looked over Isaac's shoulders at the others, she raised her hand, showing them what was on her hand, then added, "If Avery wasn't there, then how the hell did I get this sticker?"

All the teenagers in the room turned their eyes to Deaton, hoping he could explain it, but unfortunately he couldn't think of anything that would explain how it was even possible for her to be there.

"Wait a minute..." Teagan began to say, getting everyone's attention. She avoided their eyes, as she continued, "I-I saw my mom in that room too. What if- what if Avery is..."

Her voice trailed off, not being able to finish her sentence, the thought of Avery being dead was too much for her to bear. Isaac pulled her toward him, seeing that she was getting upset.

"It's not possible." Scott softly said. He looked over at Teagan, as he added, "She was fine when I left."

"But what if Deucalion-"

"He wouldn't." Stiles said with teary eyes, hoping his words were true. "He couldn't, he needs her." He added, trying to convince her and himself.

"He's right, babe." Isaac quietly added, as he lightly ran a hand up and down her back, hoping to comfort her.

Before anyone else could say anything, they heard the front door open, causing them all to look at each other in confusion. Wondering who had walked into the building. Secretly hoping it was Avery, hoping that her fear was wrong and she was alive and came back, Teagan pulled away from Isaac and headed for the front room. She heard Isaac called out to her to wait for him, but she ignored it as she rushed down the hallway.

She heard the others coming up behind her, but didn't stop, until she came to the doorway of the main room, only then did she skid to a stop when she saw one of the twins standing there.

"What do you want?" Jackson barked at the alpha. He had heard a lot of stories about the alpha pack while the others were out for sixteen hours.

When Ethan looked over at Teagan, Isaac stepped closer to her, standing on her left, while Jackson took a step toward her right. Ethan ignored the looks they were shooting him, as he said, "Look, I know I have no right to ask for any favors, especially from you. Not after what my pack did to your mom."

"I know you probably won't believe me, but I had nothing to do with that." He continued, "My brother and I were there, but it was more of a training session for us. We had recently joined the pack and Deucalion just wanted us to watch, he wanted to show us what we did to people who didn't do what we said. People who wouldn't give us the information we needed."

"Deucalion was looking for Aleine and he thought my mom knew where she was?" Teagan guessed, already have put the pieces together when she saw Aleine at the bank.

As Ethan nodded his head, Teagan continued, "But she didn't know. My mother didn't know anything about that. She was only involved in the past cause of her best friend, once she gone, mom walked away from it all. She wanted to move away from this town to get away from everything."

"We didn't know that at the time." Ethan said. "I know it doesn't count for much, but that's why Aiden and I tried to scare you away and tell you not get involved. I didn't want to see the same thing happen to you." He added, explaining all the times they approached her in the past.

"Is that it?" Isaac snapped. He could tell Ethan was upsetting her, and with everything else going on right now, the last thing she needed was something else upsetting her.

"No, that's not it." Ethan said back, then looked back at Teagan as he continued, "Also, you were right before about not being scared of me, but you should be scared of my brother and the others." He glanced at the others, as he added, "All of you should."

"Yeah we kind of got that when they were going around murdering Derek's pack." Stiles said with his usual level of sarcasm.

"Yeah, well, they're not done and I need help." Ethan said back.

"With what?" Scott asked.

"Stopping them from killing Derek." Ethan answered.

The small group looked at each other, until Lydia spoke up and said, "I'll help."

When she saw Teagan open her mouth to argue, she cut in and said, "You need to find your dad, Teagan."

"But Lydia-" She began to argue, worried about her friend.

"I'll be ok." Lydia interrupted. She grabbed Teagan's hand, giving it a squeeze, as she added, "I need to do this, T. I'm always finding dead bodies, but for once, maybe I can stop someone from getting hurt or worse. I can do this."

"I know you can." Teagan said with a smile, as she threw her arms around her, giving her a big hug.

"I'll go with you." Jackson volunteered, just in case Lydia needed any help.

Lydia gave him a smile to thank him then walked over toward Ethan while Jackson gave Teagan a quick hug, telling her to be careful. The others watched as Jackson and Lydia left with Ethan to help stop the others from hurting Derek.

Deaton looked at the others, then said, "You four better get going. Find the Nemeton, find your parents."

Teagan, Scott and Stiles nodded their heads in agreement, they knew they were running out of time. The three quickly changed into a set of drier clothes, then split up.

Teagan, Isaac and Scott went to her house, as Stiles went to his house, planning to grab something of their parents so Scott and Isaac could track their scents before time was up.

~()~

"So we need to hurry and get some flashlights, then get to the woods." Isaac said as they reached the front door of Teagan's house.

She paused with her keys in her hand as she tried to remain positive, tried to believe that they were going to survive this, that her dad was going to be okay. And that she'd get her best friend back, but the more she focused on everything she'd lost, and how much she stood to lose, the more grim her future seemed.

Laying a comforting hand on her shoulder, Scott said, "We're gonna find them."

"Our parents, hopefully." Teagan quietly answered with a nod.

"Avery's not dead." Scott tried to assure her, but she shook her head dismissing his words.

"Then how was she there? I saw Avery and then I saw my mom, and you know what? I'm 100% percent sure my mom is dead… and now so is my best friend…"

Taking her tear streaked face in his hands, Isaac made her face him as he said, "You can't think like that, Teagan. If you give up hope… then we've already lost. Avery is alive, okay? She has to be."

Seeing her started to protest again, he didn't let go of her, "This is Avery Dukate that we're talking about… if anyone is going to figure out a way to manipulate Deucalion and come out on top, it's her."

"Guys…" Scott shushed them as he realized Teagan wasn't going to need her key, the door was open a crack.

"Stay behind me." Isaac said as he pushed his girlfriend behind him, and they followed Scott into the seemingly empty house.

Teagan kept her hands tucked inside of her jacket, ready to pull her daggers at a moments notice, but she was thankful she didn't once they saw who was in the house.

"Who are you? Get out of my house!" Teagan shrieked, as she saw a man she didn't recognize lounging in her fathers desk chair.

"Dad?" Scott questioned as he walked farther into the room.

"Scott." Raf greeted his son.

Teagan looked at him and then over to Isaac who gave a small shrug and placed a comforting hand on her lower back.

Looking to the teenage girl he said, "You must be Teagan Young."

"What are you doing here?" She questioned, thinking the police getting involved was the last thing they needed right now.

"I'm following one of the only leads I have." He responded with raised eyebrows.

"Can this wait…" she started to plead but he cut her off.

"You three need to have a seat, and no –this can't wait."

Scott shot his friends an apologetic look and sat down in one of the chairs facing the desk, while Teagan slowly followed behind and Isaac sat on the arm of the chair she sat down in.

"I gotta be honest here, I feel like I'm stumbling in the dark… over even the smallest clue." Raf explained.

"If you're trying to tell me that you don't have a clue, I learned that along time ago." Scott shot back at him.

Isaac shifted a little, feeling the tension rise in the room, then looked down to where Teagan was nervously biting on her thumbnail. Knowing that every second that passed was another moment closer to losing her dad forever.

Reaching down he gently took her hand in his, and rubbed his thumb over her soft skin, trying to comfort her. But she hardly even seemed to notice his touch.

Surveying the teens he looked back to the officers then looked to Teagan as he said, "Your father seems to be missing, Miss Young… would you like to fill me in on what you know?"

"Missing?" Teagan questioned trying to shrug the accusation off, "He's away on a business trip."

Nodding but clearly not believing her pushed, "So then where did the sheriff run off to?"

Feeling Teagan tense up even more beside him, Isaac snarkily responded, "Not sure, it wasn't my day to watch him."

"I'm just trying to help, Isaac." Raf explained, as he stood up and leaned over the desk some.

"How do you know my name?" He questioned, taken aback.

"Your name is one of the few things I do know. And since none of you are offering up any information, let me tell you what I know. There are several people who seem to be missing, one of them is your mother, Scott." He paused giving his son a hard stare.

Then looking back to the rest of the group he continued, "I also can't seem to get ahold of Avery Dukate, who has been absent from school with no explanation, but from what I've gathered from asking around… she is often seen with Derek Hale, who I'm sure you all are aware had homicide charges against him a year ago. Especially considering you were all in the school running for your lives from him; Avery too."

"He was acquitted, it was a misunderstanding." Isaac cut in, trying to speed things along.

With raised eyebrows he nodded, "That is exactly what Richard Dukate told me, before slamming the door in my face."

All the teens glanced down to the floor as they smiled at the thought of Avery's dad reacting like that.

"What alarms me the most, is how there have been so many murders in Beacon Hills lately, and now several people closely associated with your little group of friends are missing and no one seems to care!" He yelled his voice echoing through the room.

"My dad is a lawyer, a highly respected one, and he won't be pleased with the fact that the police just let themselves right into his house and are now holding us without any kind of warrant." Teagan finally found her voice again, feeling stronger with every word she spoke.

Out of the corner of her eye she saw Scott giving her an approving nod, she was managing to hold everything together.

"We entered the house because when we got here, the door was wide open. Now if you think you'd be more comfortable coming down to the precinct, to talk this over…" His voice trailed off as Teagan lowered her head and started to cry.

"Uhh…" Raf breathed out, growing a bit uncomfortable.

"Teagan, shh… it's okay." Isaac tried to soother, but Teagan stood up and shrugged his touch away.

"I've just been so scared, I don't know where my dad is." She sobbed as she covered her face with her hands.

"Teagan!" Scott quickly said. The last they needed was to involve his dad anymore in the situation, especially when they only had mere hours to find their parents.

"I can help you, I want to help you bring your father home safely… but I can't do that without your help, Teagan. I need you to tell me everything you know about the last time you saw him. Do you know anyone who would want to hurt him, has he taken on any high profile cases lately?"

Raising her head with a small gasp she said, "He did get this threatening letter in the mail the other day… would that help?"

With a smile Raf assured her, "That would be incredibly helpful, do you have it on you?"

"It's in my room…" Teagan yelled over her shoulder as she raced up the stairs and grabbed an empty purse from her closet, then before leaving her room she made a small stop at her dresser and pulled out one of the smoke grenades Allison had given her.

"It's in here." She said as she returned to the room, to see Scott and Isaac were standing now, looking at her like she'd lost her mind.

But instead of a letter she took out the grenade and pulled the pin to ignite it as she tossed it over the desk towards the police, and yelled, "Run!" To her friends.

"Scott! Wait, wait!" They could hear his dad choking out, but the trio kept running until they got in Teagan's car and Isaac drove off.

"That… was awesome!" He breathed out, quickly looking before running a stoplight trying to put distance between them and the house.

Yeah, I thought you were really breaking down back there." Scott admitted, trying to catch his breath from the backseat.

Teagan looked down to her shaky hands in silence, she couldn't believe she'd just done that either. But time was running out and they needed away from Scott's dad.

After calling and telling Stiles they weren't able to get the flashlights, but they'd meet him in the woods as soon as they could, Scott's phone rang.

Teagan barely even listened to his side of the conversation as she looked down to the butterfly sticker in her hands.

"What, why?" Isaac asked, finally snapping Teagan out of it.

"Huh?" She questioned, raising her head and looking around to see Isaac was turning around.

"Because… Derek says he thinks he can get Avery back, but he's going to need my help." Scott answered.

"Wait, what?" Teagan gasped.

Scott looked at Teagan as she looked over her shoulder to him.

"Derek isn't an alpha anymore…" Scott admitted, then explained about how Derek had gave up his alpha spark to save Cora, and now was working on a way to save Avery. "You guys go on… find our parents, I'm going to help, Derek."

"I don't understand." She admitted, turning around in her seat to face him more, but he avoided her eyes.

"What is going on?"

With a small sigh he admitted, "If we're going to save, Avery… it has to be tonight. I spared you some details earlier about that deal."

Teagan let out a pained noise as she clutched onto chest, literally feeling shooting pains running through her as she demanded, "Tell me!"

He didn't want to make her worry anymore, after all she was pretty sure that Avery was dead and he was hoping that wasn't the case. But she and Avery were just as tight as himself and Stiles, so he understood what she was going though.

"The deal that she made, was pretty much… her life for all of ours. Stiles texted me and said Deaton had a way to save our parents, and the only way Deucalion was going to let me leave was if Avery promised to stay…" He quietly said, as they neared Derek's building.

"By stay you mean…" Teagan was barely able to whisper.

"Join his pack… in exchange for all of us to keep on living alpha pack free."

Teagan turned back around shaking her head back and forth as more tears burnt her already sore, raw eyes.

"I promised I'd come back for her." Scott explained as Isaac pulled to a stop, and Scott opened his door.

"If she's still alive… bring her back, Scott." Teagan choked out, still clutching onto herself, with her emotions manifesting as physical pain.

"I will." He answered confidently as gave her one last empathetic smile before shutting door behind him.

They were his friends, and he was trusting them to save his moms life, while he kept his promise to a friend that he didn't always see eye to eye with.

~()~

Avery looked to her shoulder where Deucalion had a hand resting as she led him towards the old distillery warehouse.

The pair made their way through the woods in silence as Avery kept looking up to the sky wondering how if the moon could bring werewolves such strength why the eclipse would leave them powerless.

Thinking back to what Morrell had been talking about, she considered it must be nature's way of keeping balance. Then again she considered she wasn't even sure there was any type of balance anymore.

"Have you ever heard the expression still waters run deep, Avery?" He questioned.

She looked around as an intense, unrelenting gust of wind blew through the woods.

With a small sigh of irritation she breathed out, "I agreed to join your pack, not tell you my every waking thought."

As they came to a stop outside of the building he reasoned, "I'm offering a friendly ear, something is obviously troubling you."

As she slid open the large metal door she turned and faced him, "Right, now at the top of my list… is that I don't how you think we're going to beat my mom. She's going to kill me, you understand that? Then when the eclipse happens… you're dead too."

With a smile he added in, "I think you'd be surprised at how good of a team we make."

"Yeah, well… sorry Duke, I just don't have the same faith in us. You're a narcissistic perfectionist … and I'm just useless." She said through gritted teeth, remembering the nickname and conversation that he and Kali had –had about her when she was in the bank over the summer.

Standing in a relaxed pose, he had both hands resting on top of his cane as he sighed at her pessimism.

"It's true… one thing that never made sense to me is why you even want me? I'm weak, I'm nothing compared to my mom. The amount of power she possesses scares the shit out of me and I don't scare easily." She admitted, remembering back to when she'd tried to stop her mom from leaving the elevator but had only managed to affect the electricity.

"You're weak right now because you have no idea what you are!" His voice roared through the vacant metal structure, causing her to jump.

"I've got druid blood in my veins, or whatever? Born to be an emissary to a pack, actually I'm betting I was supposed to take my mom's place with the Hales." She said biting down on the inside of her cheek until her mouth filled with the taste of blood.

For a moment she allowed her mind to wander with that thought, of her being Derek's emissary, the two of them running a pack together and having a future. Her bottom lip started to quiver as she thought of what she was going to miss out on now.

"Please, be as smart as you act like you are, Avery. Do you really think I'd simply want an emissary in my pack? You're not just an emissary, you're a very special young lady… an Imperium." He finally admitted.

"A what?" She asked, her eyebrows pushed together in confusion at his words.

Taking a few steps closer he explained, "An imperium, extremely rare, in fact, in all my years you are the only one I have come across. Imperium literally translates to 'great power' and that is exactly what you have inside of you. You don't just have abilities to draw power from nature and elements, you can manipulate –control them! Avery, the possibilities of what you can do are endless. All you have to do is tap into the right energy source, force yourself to do it."

Shaking her head back and forth she argued, "I don't know how!"

"You have done it before!" He shouted back.

"What?"

"I know what happened to you, I know about that scar on your wrist." He admitted, lowering his voice some.

"Yeah, someone tried to kill me." She sighed, not understanding what that had to do with anything.

"No, I'm talking about when you died in the operating room. It was only for a few seconds, but your heart literally stopped… yet, you came back and you haven't felt the same since, have you?"

Taking a few steps backwards and feeling like there was no air left in her lungs she stuttered out, "H –how can you possibly know that."

"Because I know what it takes to be extraordinary! I know exactly the kind of trauma and pain it takes to push yourself over that threshold to become something so great, so powerful. In many ways we are one in the same." He explained.

"You need to stop being so afraid of what you're capable of. If you don't your mother will succeed in killing your friend's parents, and then that will be on you. Stop holding back, just let it go. Own what you can do." He urged, knowing time was running out, her mom would be ready to fight him soon.

"You mean the darkness…" She breathed.

"That kind of supreme power, the kind you need to take Aleine down… doesn't come from the light, you know that." He admitted.

Straightening his posture he smiled at feeling a shift in their surroundings, her presence was strong in the air, seemed to be surrounding him from every angle.

She was ready.

"I think it's time to let your mother know where we are." He smirked.

He couldn't see her, but he was sure the blackness of her pupils had flooded over her entire eyes as she channeled her energy. There was a power struggle, as her mother pushed back, but ultimately she was able to win, filling her mom's head with images of where they were and what was waiting on her.

"I already did." She said, a small smile on her lips as she looked around, seeming to see everything in a new light. Everything was brighter, the air pouring in from the door seemed to fill her every cell and there was a buzzing all over her skin. A feeling she couldn't explain, but the rush she was getting was addicting. She never wanted that feeling to stop.

With a wider smile she explained, "Oh, and sorry to be the one to tell you this, Duke… but the last time I saw through her eyes… she killed Kali and the twins."

"I saw that coming." He admitted with a nod.

Confusion spread over her face and disappointment from him not being the least bit affected by such news.

"You let your pack walk right into a trap?"

Raising his head and nodding he explained, "They're replaceable to say the least. It's people like us, who are one of a kind… we're the irreplaceable ones."
