Chapter Twenty Six - Whispers in the Dark
~ A Teen Wolf fanfiction collaboration between Miss E Charlotte and Sage Londyn.~
Teagan looked over at Isaac, wanting to rush to him, but also wanted to go to her father. Seeing that she was torn, he nodded his head over toward her dad, telling her to go.
She shot him a smile, thanking him, then ran over to her father. Paul hugged her tight, resting a hand on the back of her head, cradling her like he did so many times when she was a baby and he would rock her to sleep.
He looked over her shoulder, seeing Isaac watching them and shooting him an unreadable expression. To be honest, Paul wasn't sure what to think or how to feel. He still wasn't happy about her being involved in that world and was terrified for her, but it was clear to see how much the young werewolf loved his daughter.
He thought about earlier when Isaac pushed him and Teagan out of the way, saving them both. He was beginning to see what she meant recently when she said not all werewolves were monsters.
Sensing her father looking at something, Teagan pulled back, seeing the look on his face, and then turned her head, seeing that her father had been looking at Isaac. Her gaze went back to her dad, worried he was going to start an argument again.
"Dad..." Teagan began to say, with a worried look on her face.
"It's okay, Sweet Tea." Paul said, easing her fears. He cut his eyes over at Isaac for a moment, then back to her, a small smile on his face as he said, "Go on. Go be with your boyfriend."
Teagan smiled at his words, planted a kiss on his cheek, thanking him, before she turned and rushed over to Isaac, jumping into his arms with a relieved sigh.
"Thank you." Teagan whispered for only him to hear.
"For what?" Isaac questioned, as he pulled back to look at her.
"For believing when I didn't. For having enough hope for the both of us that everything was going to be okay." Teagan said, as she smiled at him. "You never gave up on me, on any of this, and I love you so much for that."
He rested his hand on the back of her head, pulling her toward him, as he softly kissed her lips. He pulled back to look at her, as he said, "I'll never give up on you, Teagan. No matter what happens, no matter how bad things get, I will never walk away from you."
Teagan smiled at his words as she laid her head on his chest, feeling him wrap his arms around her and hold her close. The two continued to hold each other until they heard Stiles cell phone began to ring.
Teagan glanced over at him, hearing him talk to Scott and tell him they were all okay and to bring a ladder, causing them all to laugh. The group sat around, waiting for Scott to show up. Teagan sat in between her father and Isaac. She held on to Isaac's hand, as she laid her head on her father's shoulder, happy to have both of them back in her life.
~()~
"Are they okay?" Avery asked as Scott ended the call he'd made to Stiles.
"They're okay, they're all okay." He admitted smiling as he looked at Avery who nodded and let the sigh of relief go she'd been holding onto.
Laughing he said, "Stiles says we're gonna need a ladder to get then out though."
Smiling Avery nodded and said, "I saw a wooden ladder outside, not sure how safe it is though."
Running her hands through her hair she looked out of the still open doorway, shivering slightly as a gust of cool early morning air blew in, just as the sun was starting to rise, casting a blue glow on the room.
Walking over to where Deucalion, Avery shrugged and questioned, "What now?"
He looked at her, then slowly turned his gaze back to where Scott and Derek were standing in the doorway.
"My mother told me you were a man of vision once." Derek explained, "We're letting you go because we hope you can be that man again."
"But if you're not, then having your eyesight back won't matter. Because you'll never see us coming." Scott warned, causing Avery to let out a small laugh.
"I'm liking this bad ass alpha side of you, Scott." She joked, causing him to smile at her, knowing they'd only survived the night because they'd worked together.
Scott and Derek stepped to the sides to let Deucalion walk past, but when Avery started to walk with him they blocked the doorway again.
"What are you doing?" Derek asked confused.
Avery looked at him with a pained expression as she reminded him, "A deal is a deal."
"You're not leaving." Scott voiced the exact expression on Derek's face as they stared at them.
Avery looked over to Deucalion who was staring back at her, a silence exchange of looks where they both knew something was broken inside her. That following his advice, she'd sent herself into an unescapable darkness.
Cocking his head to the side he told her, "A deal is a deal, and you helped me kill your mom. You're free to go."
Avery's expression dropped to one of frustration, "No, I have to go with you."
"What are you talking about?" Derek growled taking a few steps closer.
"You have to fix me…" Avery explained, her voice in a hushed whisper.
Deucalion glanced over to see a very pissed off Derek before he quietly responded, "You don't appear broken."
Her jaw tensed and she stared at him, as he gave her a nod and then walked past Derek and Scott to leave.
Avery stared down to the dirty, bloody floor as she considered that maybe she didn't need Deucalion to fix her. She was stronger than ever now, all she needed was to control her abilities. Not dip back into that darkness and she'd be okay, or at least that's what she told herself.
"What was that about?" Derek questioned.
Avery raised her head with a smile as she said, "I get to stay?"
He nodded, his expression still laced with confusion, but she didn't give him any more time to think about it as she raced forward and jumped into Derek's arms, smiling when he wrapped her in a tight hug.
But the friendly, comforting gesture didn't help ease her mind at all, as a part of her, an ever growing part was worried that she might not be able to get a handle on her abilities
After pulling back from the embrace she managed another smile which she held onto until she walked outside to show Scott where she'd seen the ladder.
With a gasp of horror she stumbled backwards, falling against Derek who caught her before she could fall.
Her heart raced in her chest and her head immediately started throbbing. Every feeling of security and hope that she'd had –had faded away at the sight of hundreds of dead birds littering the ground around them.
"It's okay." Derek quickly said, thinking he should have checked the surroundings before letting her outside, she'd been through enough trauma.
"It's not okay…" Avery argued, as she rubbed her thumb over the tattoo on her wrist and breathed out, "It was me… I did this… I killed them. I killed them all."
"Hey, no you didn't." He assured her as he gently spun her around to face him and confidently added, "Aleine did this, not you."
"It was me!" Avery yelled, not understanding why he wouldn't believe her when she was telling the truth.
"Hey…" Scott said as he dropped the ladder and said, "This happened at school to… when you were still gone. It was your mom, you didn't do this. Okay, you couldn't have."
"What if I did?" She questioned, looking between them.
Scott drew a blank, not sure what to say to her, but Derek held his standpoint, "You didn't do this."
Swallowing hard she nodded and tried not to look down to the small, lifeless bodies, but their surroundings were covered in the tiny corpses.
"Let's get you out of here." Derek offered, as he started to guide her away but she stopped and said, "I think I should go with, Scott. I need to see Teagan."
Smiling Scott said, "She's dying to see you."
Then he glanced down and frowned at his choice of words, especially considering not only did they all almost die, but Teagan was convinced her friend was dead.
Not seeming to notice his morbid choice of words, or just not caring, she nodded and turned to Derek as she assured him, "I'll be fine… I just think I need to see my friends."
She hoped she was right, that all she needed was a hug from Teagan to feel like her old self again.
She started off deeper into the woods with Scott following her, knowing the exact way they needed to go.
She only looked over her shoulder once, long enough to see Derek staring down to the ground, as if he was really trying to figure out what had happened to them.
~()~
Several minutes later, they saw a ladder be lowered down, followed by Scott climbing down. After he stepped off the ladder, he smiled over at his mom, happy to see she was okay with his own eyes.
He rushed over to her, hugging her tight and apologizing for this happening to her. Melissa pulled back to look at him, laying her hands on either side of his face, telling him it wasn't his fault. She hugged him close again, telling him she loved him and was proud of him.
Teagan watched them, with tears in her eyes. Her blurry eyes glancing around, taking in everything and everyone, but as happy as she was that they were all okay, she felt an aching in her heart knowing someone was missing, her best friend.
As if reading her mind, Scott looked over at her and smiled, like he knew something she didn't.
"What?" Teagan questioned, the longer he looked at her but didn't say anything.
"I brought some extra help. Someone I know you're looking forward to seeing." Scott said, as he looked over at the ladder.
Teagan followed his eyes, then gasped when Avery dropped from the ladder. She breathed out her best friend's name, shocked and surprised to see her. A part of her feared she was imagining this, but when she saw everyone else looking at Avery with a smile, she knew it had to be true. She was alive.
"Avery!" Teagan called out, as she rushed over to her best friend, throwing her arms around her neck, almost knocking her down from the force.
"Oh my god! You're –you're here. You're really here." Teagan cried out, as she squeezed her tight. She pulled back to look at her, as she added, "You're okay. I thought -I thought…"
"I'm okay, T. Everything is okay now." Avery said, as she hugged her best friend to her again. She patted down her hair, as she whispered, "Firefly, firefly, don't go away..."
Teagan gasped as she pulled back to look at Avery, tears running down her face. "You were really there, but-but how?" She questioned.
"Firefly, firefly, don't go away..." Avery repeated, as she wiped the tears from Teagan's face.
Teagan smiled through her tears, as she whispered back, "Butterfly, butterfly why don't you stay?" She looked at her friend closely, skipping the rest of their nursery rhyme, and instead softly added, "And never stray?"
"Never again." Avery promised, as she shook her head.
Teagan smiled at her words, as she pulled her toward her, hugging her tightly, happy to have her best friend, her rock, her sister back again.
~(Days later…)~
"Thanks for picking me up." Teagan said with a smile as she looked over to Avery who was driving them away from the auto shop.
"No problem, I know how bad it sucks to have to sit and wait while they take their time changing the oil." She empathized.
With raised eyebrows Teagan laughed, "A, I have been with you… and you don't sit and wait, you spend your time flirting with the cute mechanics. You even get past that door that no customers are allowed past."
Laughing and shaking her head back and forth, she explained, "That's only because I like strangers messing with my car."
"Of course!" Teagan exclaimed, laughing.
It felt good to be out with her friend after all the chaos they'd been through. For a while she'd really thought Avery wasn't ever coming back, but now she had her best friend back and things were good; or at least she was hoping they were.
Almost on cue an unnatural chill fell over her skin. Shivering, she crossed her arms over herself for extra warmth but didn't voice her concerns, Avery had been through enough already.
Scott had filled her in on how Avery almost killed herself to help them save their parents, the last thing she wanted was worry her with anything else.
"Kind of cold, isn't it?" Avery mumbled as she reached over and turned the heat on low to try and warm the chill in the air.
"Heh –yeah!" Teagan exclaimed a smile on her lips, she hadn't imagined it. It was just a bit colder than normal for the season.
But her relief was short lived as it felt like someone grabbed her wrist, she could feel the individual fingers wrapping around her, but when she looked down she expecting to see Avery holding onto her; but instead she was met with an unsettling feeling as she saw the same bracelet she'd used when she went into the ice bath.
Her heart started to race; she hadn't worn that bracelet today. As she gasped and moved her wrist, the bracelet disappeared.
Pinning her eyes shut she braced herself for Avery to ask what was wrong but when her friend didn't say anything, she looked around and noticed they were stopped on the, luckily, deserted side street.
"A?" Teagan breathed out, as she continued to rub her wrist that now felt freezing cold to the touch.
Looking straight ahead at where her friend was silently staring as if she was in a trance, Teagan saw several crows just sitting on the hood of the still running car.
"Avery!" She yelled louder causing her friend to jump and as her concentration was broke the birds all scattered into the air above them.
"What was that?" She asked, feeling less concerned for herself and more worried for Avery.
"N-nothing… sorry." She quickly apologized as she took her foot of the brake and continued on their way.
Frowning she looked down to her lap and wondered if this was a result of the ice baths, Avery hadn't been there with them, but she'd managed to create her own and Deaton had warned them about the lasting effects, the darkness they could have. Maybe Avery was having some of that too, she considered it was an option, especially since her friend hadn't had an anchor to help pull her back.
"How are things at home… you know, since you moved back?" Avery asked, with a smile, seeming to easily push the strange events from her mind and focus back on their time together.
"Uh…" Teagan breathed, shocked that she had bounced back so fast, "A little awkward, with dad knowing everything he's really struggling to accept Isaac. But he's trying, he knows how much he means to me… and he's seen how much he loves me."
Avery smiled and nodded, "Maybe it's for the best now, you know? That both our dad's are clued in now, makes things a little easier than lying all the time."
"True." She agreed, then said, "Well, your dad almost knows everything."
Avery's expression fell as she gripped the steering wheel tighter.
"You still haven't told him about your mom?" She started to ask but her friend cut her off.
"Tell him what, T? Thinking my mom died in that fire all those years ago, destroyed him… how can I even begin to tell him that she really just left us and turned into this… complete psycho." Her words trailed off as she went to check her rearview mirror but her gaze lingered a bit longer than normal on her own reflection. Everyone always told her how much she looked like her mom.
"I know, I was there with you through everything… I saw how it changed your dad and you. But this is a lot to hold in, too much to deal with on your own." Teagan's wide brown eyes were sad as she pulled her hair up into a loose ponytail, and reached forward shutting the heat off.
"Who said I was handling it on my own?"
Rolling he eyes Teagan said, "I know you've got me, no matter what. But…"
"Who said I was talking about you?" She joked looking over to Teagan with a smile.
Teagan's mouth dropped open in surprise as she gasped, "Are you cheating on me?"
Throwing her head back and laughing Avery played along, "You know I love you, T… I never wanted you to find out this way."
"No, I knew it! All the late night phone calls and always saying you have to work late when we both know you've never worked a day in your life!" Teagan pretended to cry, feeling the darkness from being a surrogate sacrifice for her father, start to fade the longer she was around her best friend.
Barely able to contain the hilarity of the conversation she sighed and said, "I'm sorry, I mean… you've got a great ass T, no one rocks leather pants as hard as you. But… sometimes I just need a tall, strong man… with a really big, hard d…"
"Stop it! Oh my god, A, just shut up! I get it, you and Derek have been spending some time together." Teagan screamed out, cutting her off in the middle of a word that she didn't want to hear.
"Oh my god, you perv!" Avery shot at her, then dramatically added, "Maybe I was going to say heart."
Teagan held onto her sore cheeks, trying to keep herself from smiling as she shot back, "The word heart doesn't start with the letter, 'd'! And you said, hard… okay? I know exactly what you were going to say next, and I don't want to hear about it."
Taking her eyes off the road, Avery playfully stuck her tongue out at her and admitted, "You know, if Lydia was here she wouldn't have told me to shut up."
"That's right!" Teagan accused, "She would have countered with a story just as crazy as yours, because she is just as sick as you are. I, however, am subjected to both of your wild sexcapade stories!"
Avery shook her head and made her friend blush as she said, "Please, Lydia told me exactly what you told Isaac you wanted him to do to you at that hotel when you all left for the cross country meet."
Gasping and putting her hands over her pink tinted cheeks she explained, "She took my phone and sent him that… not me!"
"Mhmm." She hummed, "But he did it right?"
When her friend stayed silent Avery nearly bounced in her seat as she gasped, "I knew it! Isaac's a little kink master, isn't he?"
"Kink master? Oh my god, never use that word again… I don't even want to know what it means!" Teagan said, then quickly tried to change the subject as she asked, "So… what's the deal with you and Derek then?"
Sighing Avery slid her hands over her steering wheel as she shrugged, "I don't know… I mean in all honesty, we've had sex a few times since everything happened, but it's just different. He's… distant, I just don't know where we stand anymore." She frowned, thinking she didn't even know where she stood, or who she was anymore.
Looking down to her lap Teagan thought out loud, "Sometimes you can still love someone, but not function as a couple… maybe too much has changed between you guys."
Quickly trying to turn the conversation back on her friend Avery pretended to now hear what Teagan said as she teased, "So have you and Isaac ever tried too…"
Not even wanting to know what the rest of Avery's questions was, Teagan nearly jumped from the car as Avery pulled to a stop outside of Allison's apartment building. The blonde shut her car off with a laugh at embarrassing her best friend.
After spending a while talking to Allison, their friend excused herself when she heard some thudding around in the study.
Avery and Teagan followed her but didn't go into the room, as they didn't want to intrude in a family conversation as Allison questioned, "Back to storage?"
Looking over his shoulder, her dad continued to dissemble weapons as he answered, "That's the plan."
"Well…" Allison said, as she glanced out of the doorway to where her best friends were standing, she continued what if I've got a different plan?"
As she walked farther into the room she explained, "Deaton said that what we did in order to find everyone in the root cellar… he said that it might draw things here."
With a sigh her dad said, "I hope not…"
"I was thinking that maybe I should be prepared, learn to be a better fighter and learn all the things that you can still teach me." She continued, causing her friends to smile as they looked at each other from outside the room.
"Maybe a few things more?" Her dad questioned.
"But we're going to have a new code…"
As she spoke in French "Nous protégeons ceux qui ne peuvent pas se protéger eux-même." Teagan and Avery quietly walked into the room as her dad, repeated back in English, "We protect those who cannot protect themselves."
He gave a nod of pride and approval at seeing how much his daughter had grown, how far she'd came since they first moved there.
"And I know just the people to help us…" Allison said with a wide smile as she turned and motioned to where her friends were now standing, both of them shooting her a smile back.
"Ah." Chris nodded with a laugh as he said, "And your parents know about this?" Allison had been filling him in some on what was going on with her friends.
Teagan let out a small laugh as she nodded, "My dad really wasn't too thrilled when he found a gun in my room last week… but he trusts me, and he knows I'm a part of this world now. He just wants me to be safe."
Avery reached down and squeezed her friends hand as she agreed, "Honestly, I think my dad will be happy to know I can protect myself… comes in handy with I'm always getting kidnapped."
Then she dramatically stated, "Plus, I look really hot with a gun."
Her words kept the mood light hearted as everyone laughed and Chris shook his head at her. At first he wasn't happy when he'd found out Allison had been training them, but like Teagan had said; they were a part of this world. And that put them all in danger.
Plus, he was painfully aware at how many times Avery had nearly been killed from being a part of it, the first time was by his own sister.
Nodding he agreed to help them all continue their training and learn to defend themselves and others against whatever the nemeton might draw to their town.
~()~
That night, Teagan walked out of the bathroom, smoothing down her skirt, and heading for her closet to find a pair of high heels to wear. She was in the middle of grabbing them, when she heard her cell phone go off.
Thinking it might be Isaac, she glanced over her shoulder, looking for the phone and saw it sitting on her desk. She walked out of the closet and over to the ringing phone.
"Hey, are you on your way?" She asked, as she answered the phone without looking at the caller id.
"No, but I can be." She heard Jackson say with a laugh over the line.
"Oh, hey...Jackson." Teagan said, with a small laugh. "Sorry, I thought you were Isaac. Scott is supposed to be dropping off soon and we're-"
"I don't need details, T." Jackson interrupted, hoping he didn't sound as jealous as he felt. He was happy for her, he was. He saw how happy she is with Isaac and as much as he hated to admit it, he knew Isaac really loved her; but that didn't mean he was completely over her. It didn't mean he still didn't imagine a future with her and wish he was the one by her side, not Isaac.
"Sorry." Teagan chuckled. "So, how's it going? Ready to head back to London?" She questioned.
"Actually, I was thinking of hanging around a little longer." Jackson stated. He couldn't shake the feeling that she still needed him. Deaton had explained to them that there would be a blackness around their heart from the sacrifice they did, and even though Teagan told him a million of times she was okay, he wasn't so sure that she was.
"Jackson..." Teagan began to say with a sigh, then added, "You don't have to stay for me. I told you, I'm fine."
"You're so conceited." Jackson jokingly said with a laugh. "Who says I'm staying for you?" He questioned.
"Ok then, why are you staying in Beacon Hills, Jackson Whittemore?" She teased.
"Maybe I missed my home." Jackson pointed out.
"Well whatever the reason, it'll be good to have you around." Teagan honestly said, missing her friend while he had been living in London.
"It's good to be around." Jackson said back, she could hear the smile in his voice as he spoke.
"We'll get together soon, maybe grab some lunch or something and properly catch up." Teagan suggested, and then added, "I want to hear all about your new life in London."
"It's a date." Jackson said.
"Jackson..." Teagan warned.
He laughed,"I didn't mean date-date. Jeez, T, stop being so conceited, seriously, it's not a good look for you."
"Ha-ha." Teagan said back sarcastically. Glancing at her alarm, seeing the time, she spoke up and said, "I need to get going. Isaac will be here soon, but I'll talk to you again soon, okay?"
"Okay, talk later, T." Jackson said, as he ended the call, looking down at the phone with a worried look on his face.
Teagan laid her phone back down on top of her desk and went to turn to walk away, until something on the desk caught her eye. She reached out, picking up her mother's bracelet, the one she used during the sacrifice.
She stared at it as it lay in her hand, the closed her fist around it, closing her eyes. She couldn't explain it, but she felt like her mother was close by, she could even swear she could smell her perfume.
She felt like someone was standing behind her, causing her to softly gasp. She took a deep breath, holding it, as she listened to her surroundings for movement. When she didn't hear anything, she slowly released it, feeling a slight breath on the back of her neck.
Feeling her heart beat in her chest, she opened her mouth a couple of times, trying to say something, even just a word, but nothing came out. Tears filled her eyes when she thought she heard a familiar female voice whisper her name.
Suddenly, she snapped her eyes opened with a gasp, seeing that she was still holding on to her cell phone from where she talked to Jackson earlier. She turned her head to the side, looking at the clock by her bed again, seeing it was fifteen minutes later than the last time she looked.
Had she fallen asleep and imagined everything? Or was something in her room earlier? Either way it felt real, more real than any dream she had ever had before.
Before she could think about it too much further, she heard the doorbell ring, signaling Isaac arrival.
She ran over to her closest, grabbing the first pair of heels she could find, before rushing out of the room, slipping on the shoes as she stumbled down the hall. By the time she made it to the stairs, her father, Paul, was already opening the door to let Isaac in.
"Oh, uh, h-hey… Mr. Young." Isaac said nervously to her father. He honestly wasn't sure how to act around him. He knew he didn't want his daughter involved or with him, but he wasn't trying to stop her again like before, and Isaac hoped he never would try again.
"Isaac." Paul said with a short nod, before turning around and walking away without another word.
Teagan sighed, hoping one day her father would be okay with them dating like he used to be. There was a time when he was ecstatic about them dating, but now that he knew Isaac was a werewolf, he wanted more for his daughter. He wanted her to have a normal life. A life that wouldn't get her killed the way it had his wife.
"Hey." Teagan said at him, as she continued walking down the stairs.
"Hey." Isaac said smiling, but she could still see how disappointed he was about how her father felt about him now.
Teagan reached out to grab his hand, intertwining their fingers. She gave his hand a small squeeze and smiled at him, before asking, "You ready to go?"
"Yeah." Isaac answered, as he squeezed her hand back.
The two walked hand and hand out the door, toward her car. She glanced over at him, her eyes roaming his body, from the dark colored dress shirt he was wearing, to the black pants. She pulled on his hand, getting his attention, as she flashed him a wide smile and said, "You look great tonight."
Isaac smiled at her words, coming to a stop by the driver side door of the car. He reached out to wrap an arm around her waist and pull her toward him, as he said, "And you look beautiful, Teagan. Of course you always look beautiful, but even more so tonight."
Teagan laid her hands on his chest, a grin on her face, as she moved them up, feeling his muscles under the shirt. She wrapped her arms around his neck, locking her wrists, as she stared into his eyes and whispered, "And you're looking very, very hot."
Isaac laughed as he pulled her closer to him. He leaned forward to softly kiss her lips, then buried his face in her hair, before whispering in her ear, "And you smell incredible." She felt a chill down her spine at his words and from his lips pressed against the side of her neck. He chuckled against her skin, feeling the effect he had over her. He moved his lips back to her ear, as he whispered, "And you taste amazing."
Teagan bit her lip to keep from moaning. She pulled back to look at him, then said, "What do you say we skip dinner?"
Isaac looked at her, his eyes flashed yellow for a moment, as he nodded his head. The last thing he wanted was food. All he wanted in this moment was her. Every inch of her.
Several minutes later, the two were parked above the cliff that over looked the city. Isaac was sitting in the back seat, pants around his ankles, with Teagan straddling him, the skirt of her dress hiked up, as she moved around on his lap.
Isaac threw his head back, letting out one final groan, before Teagan lifted herself off of him and collapsed in the seat beside him. The two sat still for a moment, trying to catch their breath, before looking over at each with a smile on their faces.
As Teagan smoothed her dress back down, Isaac reached down to pull up his pants. Once they were zipped and buttoned, he turned toward her, laying a hand on the back of her neck, as he stared at her for a moment, before saying, "God, I love you, Teagan."
He took a deep breath and slowly released it, trying to get control of all the emotions running through him at the moment. He smiled, "You've been my dream girl for as long as I could remember. You are the only girl I have ever wanted, and even though I thought I never had a shot in hell of getting you, I still waited for you."
"I'm sorry I kept you waiting." Teagan softly said, as she leaned against his hand. "I wish I would have noticed you sooner." She added.
"I don't." Isaac said, causing her to shoot him a confused look. "I would have loved to be with you then, but there were other things you had to do. Other relationships you needed to have. That wasn't our time then, but now... now it's our time, and it always will be." He explained.
"It's you and me." Teagan whispered, as she shot him a smile.
"It's you and me." Isaac repeated. He pulled her toward him to softly kiss her lips, then leaned back to look at her, as he added, "No matter what happens, I'm here for you, Teagan."
Teagan tilted her head to the side, knowing what he was really saying, "Isaac, I told you, I'm fine."
"But Deaton said-"
"I know, but I'm okay, Isaac." She interrupted. She smiled at him, although he noticed the smile didn't fully reach her eyes like it normal did when she smiled at him. "I'm okay." She said again, hoping he would really hear her this time.
"That's all I want, for you to be okay." Isaac said, as he removed his hand from the back of her neck to tangle his fingers in her hair.
"And all I want, is for you to hold me." Teagan said back, as she smiled again, this time a genuine Teagan smile.
Isaac nodded his head at her request, then laid out across the back seat as much as he could. Once he was as comfortable as possible in the confined space, Teagan laid out in front of him, her back against his chest.
She felt him wrap his arm around her waist and hold her tight against him. She raised her hand, planning to run her fingers through her hair, then paused when she saw something on her wrist. She softly gasped realizing it was her mother's bracelet.
She lowered her eyebrows in confusion, her heart beginning to race, as she realized she never remembered putting it on earlier.
"Is everything okay?" Isaac questioned, as he raised up a little to look at her when he heard her heart beating in her chest.
"Y-yeah." Teagan lied. She glanced over her shoulder to look at him, a smile plastered on her face, as she said, "I was just thinking about how much I love you. How happy you make me."
"Just say the word and I can make you happy again." Isaac joked, as he pressed his lips against hers while he ran his hand down her side toward her thigh, resting it right above the hem of her skirt.
"Mmm." Teagan moaned against his lips, then said, "I definitely want to do that again, but I need to catch my breath. Not everyone has werewolf stamina, you know."
Isaac chuckled against her lips, then kissed her a few more times, before pulling back. "That's fine. I'll just hold you a little longer, everything will be okay."
Teagan turned her head away from him, slowly releasing a breath, as she whispered, "Yeah, everything will be ok."
At least she hoped everything will be okay. Everything had to be okay.

Long distance hugs from us both for anyone who's going to be watching the season 4 finale tonight, I'm sure everyone is going to need them!
