I only own my OC's
Ryan's POV, Several Hours Later
I walked over to the landing pad, next to the hangar to meet the Colonel. I ordered a company of men to be ready for a parade welcome. I took a short cut through the hangar, there were eight cutouts in the walls on each side where the VTOL's sit ready to launch at a moment's notice if need be. A trained pilot could hover inside the hangar and fly right through the hangar door at full speed when they're fully opened.
The Colonel was due to arrive any minute; I'm scared and nervous as hell. I don't need the added stress of him being around; there's still much to be done. As I came outside I could hear the VTOL's engines coming closer. I ordered the company of men to assemble, forming two lines on each side of the red carpet, that was placed on the ground. This was the standard welcome for the Colonel.
I took several deep breaths as the VTOL came into view, and even deeper breaths as it turned its hull towards me and landed. When the wheels touched down I walked forward to greet the Colonel. The side door slid open and he stepped out.
I saluted, "Welcome back Colonel."
He returned it and said, "Thank you Lieutenant, it's good to be back."
"If you don't mind me asking Sir, why have you returned so soon?" I replied.
"I received word that another resistance member has been captured, and that it's Isabella Garcia-Shapiro." He said as he started to walk back inside the building.
"Correct Sir, though I don't understand why you needed to come back so soon; it's not like she's going to escape from here." I stated as I followed him.
"That may be, but I'm not taking any chances with a prisoner this valuable. I want her moved to Interrogation Room Three immediately so that I can question her."
"Sir, she won't give you any information." I replied with a laugh.
He glared at me and said, "Which is why if she won't give it up willingly then I'll… extract it from her."
"With all due respect isn't that a bit extreme… I mean she's only a teenager?" I asked.
"I want to know what's in her head by any means necessary. Even if she is a teenager, she has chosen to take up arms against our Emperor. Speaking of enemies, do you know who the mole is?" he asked.
"Not yet Sir, but I have my best man on it." I replied.
"Your orders were to find him before I return." He stated as he looked at me.
"With respect Colonel, you weren't due back for four more days." I stated.
"You are correct Lieutenant; I did come back unexpectedly. In the mean time I would like to talk to our new guest." He stated.
"Of course, Sir." I replied as I followed him to the prison. Two guards following close behind us.
Phineas's POV
I was leaning against the wall watching Isabella help Katie stretch her arm. For some reason seeing Isabella alive, and being around her again, gave me this funny feeling. I mean sure I cared about her, but it's only around her, I don't understand why.
"Okay, that should do for now." Isabella said, bringing me out of my thoughts.
Katie's arm had gotten better and no longer needed to be in a sling. As I thought about it, I always admired Isabella for her devotion to her team, she always put them first, even ahead of herself.
"You okay Phineas?" I shook my head, as I was brought out of my thoughts, and replied, "What?"
"I said, are you okay? You were staring at us." Isabella asked.
I blushed a little and replied, "Sorry, just deep in thought, that's all." Isabella gave me a questioning look before taking another look at Katie's arm.
The lock on the door clicked before opening, I was thinking it was Ryan coming to check up on us. Instead two guards armed with rifles rushed in, one of them yelling for us to get against the far wall. We did as commanded and stood against the wall; Raymond walked in with Ryan close behind him.
"What do you want now Raymond?" I asked as I glared at him.
"Show some respect boy, or I'll teach you some." He replied as he stood by the door.
He looked towards the girls and pointed, "You're coming with me." I followed his finger and saw he was pointing at Isabella.
"I don't think so." She replied.
"You don't have a choice." He replied.
"You're going to have to drag me out of this cell." She replied.
Raymond sighed and said, "Take aim."
The guards raised their rifles and aimed them at us. I gulped as I stared down at the guard's weapon that was pointed at me.
"You have two choices you can either come with me willingly, or I'll order my men to kill your friends, and then drag you out of this cell. Your choice." Raymond stated.
I looked towards Isabella, her head down, hands balled into fists; she was shaking with rage. She then looked up, turning her head towards Katie and then to me. I could see the worry in her eyes. She took a calming breath before looking forward again, "I'll go with you."
"Good choice." The Colonel replied as he motioned the guards to lower their weapons.
Isabella started walking towards them as I said, "Isabella, no."
She stopped and looked at me with a slight smile and said, "Don't worry, I'll be fine."
Raymond stepped out of her way as she exited the cell, he then followed her. Ryan looked at us, with sadness, before exiting the room; the two guards closing the door behind them. I quickly rushed to the door and looked out the window only to hear the echoing of the footsteps getting quieter as they walked away.
Ryan's POV, Several Hours Later
I stood outside the interrogation room; I stepped out to get some air a few minutes ago. Raymond made me watch and learn the, "art" as he called it, of forcing someone to talk. I have never seen someone last so long under Raymond's torture. When she refused to answer a question, she received a punch to the stomach or a slap to the face. Smart comment, that earned a knife slash on her arms or legs. When Raymond was in her face to ask her for information she head budded him. I was surprised by her move, but Raymond broke the ring finger on her right hand in return.
I wanted to do something. I needed to do something, yet I just stood there and watched.
Raymond stepped out of the room and sighed, "I guess we need to try a different tactic."
"Sir, may I talk to her?" I questioned.
"Why, she didn't give anything to me when I was in there, what makes you think you'll get anything at all?" Raymond said as he looked towards Ryan.
"Let me show her that if she cooperates, then we won't hurt her anymore." He replied.
Raymond studied me before replying, "Okay, let's see if you get anything by playing nice." He then looked at his watch and said, "I'll give you five minutes."
I nodded as I entered the room; Isabella sat in the chair breathing heavily, blood tainted her clothes and the floor around her. Above her, hung a single uncovered light bulb. There were various tools and objects lying on the table beside her or hanging from the wall; useful for making prisoners talk. I walked towards her and asked, "Isabella?"
She looked up at me her, face obscured by her hair that fell in front; she then looked back down in silence.
I sighed and said, "Isabella, I know what you're thinking right now. But you have to trust me, I just need some information."
"I don't talk to Doofenshmirtz's minions." She said as she continued to look down.
"Isabella," I began as I crouched in front of her and pulled up my left sleeve, "I know what you're going through, I was strapped to that same chair several months ago. You don't need to endure this anymore, I just want some information."
She looked up at me, where I got a closer look at Raymond's handy work; her face was bruised with several small cuts still bleeding. She glared at me and said, "Why do you care, your only looking after yourself."
"Isabella, I have to do this to keep my family alive." I stated.
"Yeah?" She questioned, "Well I'm not talking for the same reason, the resistance is my family O'Neil; I won't betray them. I will die before I betray them."
I pulled down my sleeve and said, "I admire your loyalty Isabella, I really do. Though how long can you last? He'll beat, drug, and do anything to get that information."
"I'm stronger than you think, it's going to take a lot before I even talk. By then I'll probably already be dead." She finished as the door opened up again and Raymond entered.
"Is she going to talk?" Raymond asked.
I stared at Isabella and replied, "No."
I could hear him walk forward, I stood up and stepped aside, Raymond crouched in front of her. I could see her eyes glaring at him with hatred.
"Are you going to say anything little girl." Raymond asked.
"You can't make me talk." She replied.
Raymond stood up and said, "Every person has a weakness." He then looked towards me and said, "Bring me the boy."
"Sir?" I questioned.
"Bring me Phineas." Raymond commanded.
I was surprised by his request; I gulped knowing full well what he planned to do. I heard Isabella take a sharp breath, she knew as well.
"S-S-Sir, you can't be serious." I stuttered out loud.
He looked at me with a cold determination and said, "She brought this on herself and her comrades. Now go get him."
"But, Sir-,"
"If you keep questioning my orders, I'll bring your sister here for 'treatment'." He yelled, interrupting me.
My anger started to rise; I couldn't control my hands forming into fists.
"Don't think that I won't honor my end of the deal, O'Neil."
"Yes, Sir" I replied as I walked out of the cell.
