Okay, so this was requested twice and I couldn't quite figure out where to put it, but then the plot thing happened and my brain was like EUREKA! So, this is for RiddleWrappedInAnEngima and Nance. Thanks for the suggestion guys (and I KNOW I haven't done one of these in forever, but I do have a few I could attempt) and I hope you enjoy this.

Thanks for reading, I do not own anyone, and leave me a comment if you can.

And thanks to everyone who reviewed, alerted, and/or favorited last chapter. You guys are amazing!

After an exhausting two weeks of constant meetings, debating over whether magic will do more good than harm to Camelot, and otherwise getting absolutely nowhere, it felt great to actually be outside. Merlin sucked in a deep breath of fresh air, enjoying the sound of birds in the trees, animals scampering along the ground, and the light, cool breeze dancing across his face and through his hair. He had almost forgotten what it felt like to actually be outside.

"I have not seen you in a while, young warlock," a familiar voice said just as Kilgharrah gently landed next to him, folding his wings against his sides, ducking his head so it was almost touching Merlin's side.

"I've been extremely busy," Merlin replied turning to face the dragon. "Arthur and I have tried to get magic unbanned, but we've run into problems." He glanced up at the dragon, noting he didn't look particularly surprised. "You know?"

"Everyone in Albion knows," Kilgharrah stated softly, something akin to content on his face. "When you succeed, you will be one step closer to your destiny."

"Yeah," Merlin said leaning back on his hands, a smile on his face, tipping his head back so the sun could warm his face. "Do you honestly think we'll succeed?"

"I have faith in you, Merlin."

Merlin smiled softly, reveling in the silence; silence that broke a moment later by someone yelling, "What the hell?"

Merlin's head snapped down, eyes training on Arthur, Gwaine, and Leon all standing just out of reach, all three looking up at Kilgharrah, hands on the hilts of their swords.

"Merlin, step away slowly," Leon said, beckoning for Merlin to move towards him with his left hand.

"I don't think I will," Merlin responded feeling the need to tease them, barely holding a smile at bay. "No, I think I'm going to let him kill me. What do you think?" He glanced up at Kilgharrah, the dragon looking amused.

"Merlin, is that…?" Arthur took half a step forward, squinting at the dragon. "I thought I killed you."

"Are you a Dragonlord?" Kilgharrah asked curiously, almost patronizingly.

"No, but…" Arthur started, a little surprised that the dragon could talk.

"Then you did not kill me." The dragon turned his attention to Leon and Gwaine, both having drawn their swords. "You two will not be able to kill me either. There's only one who can kill me, and he is sitting right here." Kilgharrah nodded in Merlin's direction, almost knocking the warlock to the ground when his head brushed against Merlin's side.

"B-but you said…" Arthur started, his blue eyes settling on Merlin.

"I know what I said," Merlin said softly, no longer in a teasing mood. "And, at the time, I never actually thought I'd see Kilgharrah again."

"Wait, that thing…" Leon started, but Kilgharrah made a noise of protest and he corrected himself, "…I meant, he has a name?"

"Yes, most living creatures do," Kilgharrah retorted, his voice heavy with sarcasm. He held Leon's gaze for a moment before turning back to Merlin. "I must be going, young warlock. I shall hope to see you soon."

"Bye," Merlin said with a small wave and watched Kilgharrah take flight, soaring into the air. For fun, the dragon blew fire at the knights and Arthur, hardly close enough to hurt them, laughing as the three tripped over their feet trying to avoid it.

Merlin stood up, watching as Arthur scrambled to his feet, fixing him with an unreadable stare. Merlin glanced over his shoulder, Kilgharrah already having disappeared, before looking back at the blond and saying, "We should probably talk."

Arthur's expression clearly said 'you think.' He gestured towards Camelot. Merlin nodded, sucked in one last puff of fresh air, and lead Arthur, Gwaine, and Leon back towards the castle, having a feeling he wasn't going to see outside for quite some time.

Since the last few chapters were such an angst fest, I thought I would try for something lighthearted. I think I succeeded, I don't know.

As for this story, I am beginning to think they're isn't an end in sight. And there's still season five to worry about, so we'll see where this goes.

Thanks for sticking with this guys. I really appreciate it.

Bye!
