Chapter 2: Engagement!?
"Let's get married Goku~!"
Lala latched onto Goku quite happily much to the young man's dismay.
"No, wait, Lala! I-!?"
He saw Haruna standing not too far with them with a blank expression on her face. Before he could say anything, she spoke.
"Congratulations!"
"IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK!"
Goku stood up from his seat shouting, surprising those around him.
When he got a clear sight of where he was, he saw that he was still in the classroom while others ate, realizing that he probably fell asleep during class all the way through lunch.
"Something wrong man?" Saruyama asked as he got his bearings.
"No, just a freaky dream." Goku replied as he sat back down.
He was thankful that it was break time or else he felt he would've suffered a greater embarrassment if he yelled during class.
'Damn that Lala... appearing out of nowhere while I was confessing to Sairenji.'
After said event, Haruna had left very quickly. Goku thought it was because she was thinking it would be best if she left him and Lala alone, seeing as how familiar the girl was acting, she must've thought that the two were dating.
He then realized what it time it was and he was nearly late. He quickly left the pinkette, telling her that he would deal with her later after school.
He looked around and saw Haruna talking with two of her friends, two girls named Risa and Mio.
'Anyway, I need to clear up that misunderstanding! Since it's break time, I might as well do it now!' He thought as he stood up to talk with the girl.
"Haruna, the teacher's calling for you!" One of the other students said.
"I'll be right there." Haruna replied as she waved goodbye to her friends. Goku cursed slightly at missing his chance.
He then realized that the break itself was already half over with, and he still hadn't had his lunch yet.
Getting his bag, he reached for the bento his grandmother made for him only for him to touch air as he felt nothing inside that resembled it.
"Wait... what? Don't tell me I dropped it?" He realized it must've been when Lala latched on to him. He had dropped his bag at the time and the contents spilled out slightly.
*GROWL*
Goku flinched from the sound of his stomach growling. Unable to find his lunch in his bag, he decided to go buy something for himself to eat at the store.
"I found it~! Goku's school!"
Lala was floating above Sainan High with a smile on her face. In her hands was a bento box covered in a blue handkerchief. Most likely it was Goku's.
"Lala-sama, are you really sure about marrying that earthling Goku?"
"I am. What about it?"
"Lala-sama, I'll admit it. Goku-san is more capable than he lets on. However, let us not forget that marrying you, the first princess of the planet Deviluke, means that Goku-san will be..."
"It'll be alright Peke." Lala smiled. "Just let me do what I want for now, okay?"
"So this is the Earth? It's a little more advanced than what I expected it to be."
Zastin stood on top of a building overlooking Sainan City. He had only just arrived on the Planet and for a moment was taking in the sights.
'According to the reports by my men, the Princess should be around this area.'
He then narrowed his eyes as he remembered the last bit of the report saying that a black-haired boy interfered with the retrieval mission.
Apparently, the boy was strong, strong enough to cause pain to two experienced soldiers of Deviluke and out speed them. He also had the ability to produce energy from his hands and used that to destroy an invention of the Princess completely.
'I should be careful around that one, he may prove a nuisance.'
"Speaking of which, where should I be going now?" He remembered the fact that he had no idea of this planet's geography, and he still had no idea where Lala herself was. His men checked back at the residence she was last seen at but she was not there according to them.
"Damn, the line's pretty long..."
As per the norm for any school, buying food at the store was complete mayhem. Most of the students there were boys and all of them were pushing the other away just to get to the counter first.
"Maybe I should just skip out on lunch?"
*GROWL*
"Nope, not an option."
"Oi, Goku!"
"Saruyama!?" Goku flinched in surprise as he heard his friend yelling for him. The young man skidded to a halt right in front of him with confused look on his face.
"What's going on man?"
"You tell me! There's a pretty girl downstairs looking for you!"
"Pretty girl...? No, it couldn't be...!"
"Yep, I thought as much."
Goku felt as though the universe was using him as a means of entertainment at the moment.
"Goku~! Where are you~?"
The alien girl Lala walked through the hallways of Sainan High. Goku sighed as he readied himself for the incoming storm he knew would begin once the girl spotted him.
"Ah~! There you are Goku!" Lala smiled as she quickly walked up to him.
"Lala, didn't I tell you to wait until I finished school today?" Goku asked in an exasperated tone.
"I wanted to come see what a school was like!" She replied before raising her hands and presenting him with something. "You also forgot this!"
"My lunch! I knew I dropped it somewhere." He said as he took the lunch off her hands. "Thanks for bringing it here."
"Oi, Goku..."
'Hear it comes... I can feel their killing sensation already.' He turned to look at Saruyama and a bunch of other boys walk up to him.
"What's your relationship with that girl? Who is she anyway?"
Goku found himself in a pickle as he was unsure on how to tell people who she was. An alien girl who teleported into his bath on the run from her family because she didn't want to get married? Sounded very unlikely.
"She's..." He began but was cut off by Lala herself as the girl latched onto arm once more.
"Me? I'm Goku's bride~!"
"WHAT IN THE HEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLL!?" All the boys cried out.
"What the hell Lala!?" Goku shouted as well but was ignored by the girl in favor of clinging to him tightly.
"Goku, I though you liked Sairenji, so why...?" Saruyama began, a dark aura forming around him and the other boys.
"It's not like that!" He retorted as he looked at Lala "Don't joke like that Lala!"
"But I thought you said you loved me? Was it all a lie then?" She asked, her tone that of a girl whose heart had been broken.
'T-This girl...!' Goku could see right through her lies at this point.
Before he could do anything however, he had to get away because...
"LET'S GUT THE BASTARD!"
Carrying Lala in his arms, Goku ran very quickly away from the horde of angry jealous boys.
"DAMN YOU, GOKU! HOW DARE YOU GET A PRETTY GIRL BEFORE ME! YOU ALREADY HAVE HALF OF THE GIRLS IN OUR CLASS, SPARE SOME FOR US WHY DON'T YOU!?" Saruyama cried out of jealousy.
"SHUT IT! IT'S NOT LIKE YOU'D GET A GIRL TO LIKE YOU WITH YOUR ATTITUDE!" Saruyama froze momentarily in shock, causing him to get run over by the horde.
"Why are they chasing us~?"
"IT'S BECAUSE OF YOU!"
Sairenji Haruna was walking back towards her classroom.
Her mind was on the events that happened earlier that day when she came across Son Goku in the streets.
'That confession... it wasn't for me was it?' A troubled expression was on the girl's face.
That girl... Lala was her name? She had appeared out of nowhere, grabbing onto Goku all of a sudden and saying that they should get married. She found herself quite confused by the events, unsure of how to feel about it all.
Truth be told, Haruna herself had liked Goku for a long time now. She doubted he remembered the event since it happened a long time ago, but she had first met the young man back when they were younger, not too long before they first became classmates in middle school.
Haruna had found herself being bullied by a few older kids, one of them a martial artist and was also their leader. Apparently, he had lost a match to a younger kid and was so angered by it that he decided to take it out on the first person he saw, which was her so to speak.
Goku had arrived on the scene a little while later, and apparently the leader was someone who Goku had recently defeated in a sparring match between his school and a rival school with the former winning. Because of that the leader decided to take his frustration out others, and rest of what happened that day was somewhat obvious given the former's skill in combat.
Haruna had always felt grateful that day. She always felt Goku was very brave standing up for her that day despite being outnumbered. Granted, he came out unscathed.
It was because of that same courage that she was able to approach him back in middle school. She saw that because of his reputation he was somewhat lonely. So she decided to repay his kindness to her that day with her own.
The two became good friends with each other. Haruna noted that time that despite his abilities, Goku was surprisingly gentle, albeit, somewhat hot-blooded thanks to being a martial artist, but still gentle.
The young man was also quite knowledgeable with plants, being the primary caretaker of his family's garden in their home together with his grandmother. It was a hobby she did not expect from someone like Goku, who was a martial artist. She remembered that he once told her that he used to play around in a lot of flower fields, and that his interest in plants, flowers specifically, was a result of that hobby.
She also knew that he was caring older brother to his younger sister Mikan. It reminded her a little of how her relationship with her own sister was like, especially when the siblings would tease each other at times.
She was disappointed at the fact that after the first year of middle school the two of them didn't become classmates in the following years. Though they still talked to each other, their relationship also became somewhat awkward due to this.
She thought that it was mostly because the two had been too busy dealing with school matters and their new friends to spend time with each other as friends.
Haruna always wished that they could restore their friendship with each other to the level it once was, a wish that was partially fulfilled when they entered high school and were assigned to the same class together.
Since it was only the beginning of the year, things hadn't progressed as much as she'd like. Though it was becoming common for the two of them to walk to school together, and that was better than nothing after all.
'Just like a couple...' She thought with a smile on her face before catching herself and shaking her head free from such thoughts.
As she hurried her way towards her classroom, her thoughts delved back towards the pink-haired girl known as Lala.
'Just who was she...?'
"Geez, what troublesome guys I have for schoolmates." Goku mumbled as he ate his lunch. Lala sat beside him as they passed the time on the roof.
The two of them managed to get away from the horde after Goku spotted an open window and jumped outside. From there, he then jumped three-stories high onto the roof to lose them.
As he ate, the young man noticed that Lala was eyeing him curiously.
"What is it?"
"Goku, are you really a human?"
"What makes you ask that?" Goku replied. He thought briefly about answering her question with yes, but decided against it and deflected it with another.
"Well, the things you did last night, and the way you jumped just now make me wonder if you really are human. You're the first one I've seen with abilities like that."
"That's because I train myself in martial arts." Goku replied.
"Martial Arts? You mean like fighting?"
"Yeah, although some people would refer to it as a way of life." He said. "With the right amount of training, anybody could do the things I did."
"Hmm." The girl nodded, and Goku couldn't help but note how cute she looked with that curious expression on her face.
"By the way..." He remembered what the girl said earlier, his annoyance at her growing.
"Why the heck did you tell them you're my bride? And since when did we get engaged in the first place!? I...!"
"Does that mean you don't like me then, Goku?" Lala asked, her tone somewhat sad, her eyes becoming somewhat watery.
"...!" He felt himself freeze in indecision, he couldn't get angry at her when she's like that.
"It's not that I don't dislike you..." He began. "It's just that there's someone else that I like. She was the one I was confessing to that day."
"I can live with that~!" Lala smiled cheerfully as she latched onto him. "As long as Goku pays attention to me, I'll be alright with anything~!"
Goku felt himself face fault to the ground.
'Damn it, that's not right at all!'
"Lala-sama, I think I know what you're trying to do." Peke spoke up.
"What do you mean Peke?" She replied in an innocent manner, pretending not to understand what her robot companion was getting at.
"What is it?" Goku overheard them talking but didn't understand what it was about.
"Oh nothing~!"
Later that night at the Son home.
"And because of that... she'll be staying here with us."
"Nice to meet you both~! Goku's sister and grandma!"
Both Pan and Mikan were gaping, the colour from their features having been drained when Lala mentioned that she was Goku's bride. He then took the time to explain to them her situation, their expressions unchanging.
"I think I'll be taking a bath now."
"Oh! Goku, I'll join you~!"
Goku felt his face go red at the thought. Pan and Mikan snapped out of their daze at the same time, the former giving Goku an angry look. He then quickened his pace towards the bathroom.
"Get back here this instant young man! Explain to us when the two of you got engaged!" Pan demanded.
"That's what you're on about!?"
Mikan looked at the girl Lala with an inquisitive look.
"Goku managed to snag a girl this pretty...?"
The young girl was conflicted. A part of her felt happy that her brother managed to find a girlfriend in spite of being something of a battle-maniac.
Another part, however, disliked it. She didn't know what the feeling was so ignored it in favour of something else.
"Mikan-chan~!" Lala called out to her. The pinkette was holding something in her hand and she realized what it was.
"What's this~?"
"That's a controller for a PS4." She replied simply.
"What's a PS4?"
She began thinking that the girl was truly an alien as her brother had just said. Even her none gaming friends knew what a PS4 was.
'Well, It's not like I've seen anything stranger...' Mikan mused to herself, having been raised together with Goku, whose own abilities far-surpassed human limits, and their grandmother Pan, who's still quite healthy and active despite being over a century old by now.
"I give up! I give up!"
"Now, take responsibility like a man!"
"It's not like that!"
She looked back to the hallway to see her brother being put into a sharpshooter by their elderly grandmother.
Goku looked quite pathetic to be honest...
At a another place within the city.
"I am telling you, I am planet Deviluke's...!"
"Right buddy, why don't you just come with me and we can sort out this mess out at the station?"
Zastin had been questioned by police for suspicious behavior for the fortieth time that day.
"Damn it, now even my own grandma thinks I'm a pervert."
"Come on Goku, let's go back inside~!" Lala said.
The two of them were by the riverside. Goku went out to get some fresh air after his bath, and Lala decided to follow him.
"Say Lala," Goku began. "I know this may not be any of my business, but why won't you go back home anyway? I mean, can't you talk to your dad about this arranged marriage thing?"
The girl gave a thoughtful look at that before she shook her head.
"Nope, I think the only real reason he's pushing for it is because he wants to fool around since after I succeed him, he'll have all the free time he wants."
'Wow, talk about being an irresponsible dad.'
"You're serious? Never mind then. Come on, I think dinner should be ready by now."
"Um!" Lala nodded. She half-expected Goku to get angry with her by now, but seemed that boy really was that much of a nice person.
"Not so fast!"
Both looked to see a handsome young man wearing skeletal themed armor that had a matching cape to it. Lala immediately recognized him.
"Zastin!"
"You know him? What's with the armor though?" Goku mumbled the last part to himself.
"Fufu... I went through a lot of trouble to get here. I was chased and bit by a dog, I got arrested by the police, and later I got lost... I really do dislike being on primitive planets such as this one..."
Zastin jumped on to the same ground as Lala and Goku.
"This is it! It's time to come back home once and for all, Lala-sama!"
"Bleh!" She stuck her tongue out at him. "I don't want to! I have a reason not to!"
"Oh? Pray tell what this reason might be?"
Lala looked towards Goku, the young man felt something about to go wrong when she did so.
'She's not going to...?'
"I fell in love with his guy!" She yelled pointing to Goku. "I'm going to marry him and stay on Earth!"
'SHE DID!' Goku gaped at Lala's audacity. 'I thought she was just messing around earlier but she's actually using me as an excuse not to go back home!?'
He looked to Zastin who was momentarily surprised by the declaration.
'You'd have to be naive or be an idiot to believe a lie like that!'
"I see, so that's the case."
'He's a naive idiot!?'
"I read the reports given to me by my men, about how an earthling intervened and rescued you from us." Zastin said.
"That's right! Now that you know, you can tell Papa that I'll never go back or meet anymore suitors!"
Goku sensed Zastin's hostility towards him rise. He readied himself just in case as he spoke once more.
"No, it's not that simple." He began. "I, Zastin, have received an order from his Highness King Deviluke to retrieve you at all costs. I cannot face him and say that I approved a marriage between you and a random earthling."
"Then what can we do?" Lala questioned.
*SLASH*
Lala saw Zastin draw his sword, and then rapidly made his way towards Goku.
"Goku!"
To Lala and Zastin's amazement, the young man stood there and blocked the incoming blow from Zastin by stopping the blade itself with both hands.
It was amazing because the blade itself was made out of pure energy, blocking it with unprotected hands was tantamount to letting your hands sink into a pit of lava, yet here Goku was doing just that!
"How in the world...!?" The Devilukean Guard-Captain questioned.
"I know someone who could do the same trick as this sword of yours. Hers is far more lethal by the way!" Goku replied.
*BAM*
He then delivered a swift kick to Zastin's gut...
*SMASH*
And then punched him quite hard that when he was sent the skidding against the ground, a trail of dirt forming around his feet as he did so.
Goku looked on as Zastin regained his posture.
"You're tough, most people around here would be knocked out already by what I just did to you." He smiled at him.
"It seems I have underestimated you human," Zastin replied as he wiped some blood from his mouth. "However, be warned that I will now be taking this fight seriously."
"Just the way I like it!" Goku took a fighting stance, Lala remained on the sidelines watching the spectacle before her.
"Haaah!"
Zastin ran towards him once again drawing his sword.
*SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH*
He swung his sword at the young fighter, at a speed which normal humans couldn't possibly catch up to.
Goku merely shifted his body around in order for him dodge, parrying blows with his hands that he couldn't dodge in the process.
"You're fast, I'll give you that much!" Zastin said before appearing behind Goku.
*BAM*
The young fighter responded by kicking him quickly in the face.
*SLASH*
Zastin regained his footing and swung his sword horizontally.
Goku jumped into the air, and the former saw his opportunity to strike once more.
"You're mine!"
*SLASH*
"What...!?"
Zastin widened his eyes in shock as he saw the young fighter fade into air after having been sliced in half by him with his sword.
"An illusion...!? Then where... Gaagh!"
*SMASH*
Goku appeared behind him and delivered a roundhouse kick that sent Zastin flying to the ground once more.
"Had enough?" He asked as Zastin used his sword to support himself.
"Not yet!"
"You know, I can tell your already getting tired. If you keep this up, you'll only get yourself in the hurt." Goku attempted to dissuade them.
"No, not until I can truly ascertain your aptitude as a candidate for Lala-sama's husband!"
Goku could only sigh. One hand, he was happy that he was able to spar with someone like Zastin. There were only a few people he knew that could give him a proper fight, and though Zastin was quite weaker than them, he was far better than any normal human could aspire to.
On the other hand, he was getting quite annoyed at the situation at the moment. He angry at Lala for using him as an excuse to not go home, but at the same time couldn't blame her because she was being forced to do something she didn't want to do.
There was only one thing he could do now to resolve the fight.
"Alright then Zastin, I accept your will." Goku said as he stood his ground. "In my next three moves, I'm going to defeat you."
"Tch...! How arrogant...!"
Zastin charged against Goku one last time.
"Haah!"
*BAM* *BAM* *PUNCH*
"Eh?" He found himself in the air, his body somewhat light as he fell down to the ground.
Lala blinked as she saw her bodyguard, one of planet Deviluke's greatest swordsmen, fall onto the ground. It was only a moment before that he was charging Goku and in the blink of an eye there he was.
"Goku defeated Zastin?"
The young fighter made his way towards Zastin's fallen form, offering him his hand as he helped him sat up. Lala made her way towards them after that.
"Just... what did you do?" He asked, feeling his entire body bruised from their fight, but more so than it did before he fell on the ground. He could hardly move his body now.
"Nothing special, I just parried your sword arm, and after that, I delivered two punches to your stomach and chest, and later an uppercut to your head. I used enough force that you'll be hurting until you rest up."
Zastin and Lala were shocked. All that within the span of an instant? They didn't even see anything! Not to mention that those three blows managed to cause enough damage to Zastin that he now down for the count.
"You... who are you...?"
"Me? I'm Son Goku, I'm a martial artist." He replied with a grin, a grin which had been passed down through the Son family for generations.
"Goku is amazing~!" Lala began to hug him by his head.
"O-Oi! Not so close!" The young man could feel the softness of her breasts. It was driving him nuts!
"I... I demand a rematch!" Zastin suddenly declared, interrupting the two.
"I'll admit it now like I did earlier, I completely underestimated you! After my wounds heal, next time will be-"
*BAM*
'How cruel!' Goku thought as he saw Lala hit Zastin on the back of his head despite his injuries.
"That's being a sore loser Zastin! Goku beat you fair and square!"
"But Lala-sama! He may be a skilled fighter but there's no way he could be as strong as your father! Marrying you would make him the next King of Deviluke, don't you remember what the responsibility entails!?"
For those who did not know, the King of Deviluke ruled over most of the Northern Galaxy after having conquered it around ten years ago.
"He may be strong, but he may break under the pressure of ruling! That's why your father had picked out the best possible suitors-!"
"I already said I don't care about that! You know as well as I do that father's only pushing for me get married is because he wants to play around!"
"You know that's not true, it's-!"
"ENOUGH!"
Both stopped when Goku yelled at the two, an annoyed expression on his face as he laid a hand on his forehead.
"Geez, you guys keep talking about me while not asking what I think?" He asked, his patience now wearing thin. "Don't ignore me!"
"Becoming the King over an entire galaxy? No thanks, that be too boring. I'm already content with my life here on Earth!"
He walked over to Zastin, grabbing him by the collar and looking him right in the eye.
"You should know better than me since you've known Lala longer than I have..." He began.
"What...?"
"I get that I really don't have any say in how your people do things but I know for a fact that forcing her into doing something she doesn't want to do won't do any good for anyone at all!" Goku yelled in Zastin's face.
Lala could only stare at him wide-eyed.
"And what's this about the best possible suitors? What if some of those so called suitors only want to marry Lala because of her looks? Or worse, marry her for the sake of becoming King only?"
"...! Bastard! Are you insinuating that the King would make such a mistake...?!"
"Everyone makes mistakes, you idiot!" Goku retorted, causing Zastin to flinch from the force of the young man's tone.
Goku released his grip from Zastin as he sighed and scratched the back of his head.
"Look, I'm just a kid from Earth, so I'll set it straight."
"I'm just worried about Lala. She seems like a really good person, and I wouldn't want her to get hurt. She deserves the chance to choose her own future for herself, and not risk it by having someone else make her decisions for her." He admitted, somewhat embarrassed as he wasn't used to speaking like this.
"Why...? Why is it that you wish to help her so? You've barely known her for a day at the very least...!" Zastin demanded from him.
"Because I already made a promise to myself that I'd help her." He simply replied. "Even though what caused that promise to form was a misunderstanding on my part, I've already promised that I would, and I'd keep that promise no matter what."
'Even if she has a knack for ignoring what I think too...' He mentally groaned. His grandmother and sister would sometimes chastise him for being too nice and would often tell him that people would eventually take advantage of that side of his.
Zastin remained silent at that, stunned that a young man such as Goku existed. He was the type of person that he respected: both brave and sincere.
Lala herself felt something within her chest grow warm. It was an indescribable feeling, one that she had never felt before.
"But at the same time, I'm still just an idiot, so I probably don't know what I'm getting myself into, but still...!"
"Goku..."
The young fighter looked towards Lala, the girl had a flustered expression on her face.
"Lala?"
"Goku... I know you said you didn't really see me in that way, but you do understand my feelings..."
"?" He tilted his head at that.
"It's like you said... all I really wanted was to live my life the way I wanted. And because of that wish, I tried using you as an excuse not to go back home... and even though you've been so helpful to me all this time too..." She admitted in shame.
"But now it's different!" A new type of energy appeared on the girl's face. "You can understand my feelings... and because of that..."
Goku began to sweat, realizing what the girl was getting at.
"No, wait, that's not what I meant at all...!" He quickly began saying but was ignored.
"...And because of that... I really feel like I could marry you for real. No, that's wrong. I definitely want to marry you!"
Goku froze as Lala latched onto him once again quite cheerfully. This was not what he was getting at all when he spoke his mind out.
"W-Wait a minute...! Don't be too hasty you idiot!"
"I admit my defeat." Zastin spoke for the first time since Goku made his statement. The older man was crying tears as he did so.
"I always knew about how Lala-sama felt regarding the suitors, but I kept those thoughts buried as I was a soldier of Deviluke and it was my duty to follow my King's orders."
"However, seeing as how you are able to understand her feelings and pointed out the fallacies regarding the suitors, I know it in my heart you are trustworthy!"
"Wha...!?"
"I don't know if the other candidates from the different corners of the galaxy would accept this decision, but I will report this development to the King myself."
"That we can entrust Lala-sama to you, Son Goku!"
And like that, Goku felt his life becoming even more crazier than it already was.
"Geez... what a troublesome night." Goku mumbled to himself as he sat on his seat inside the classroom waiting for the teacher to arrive.
After that night, Zastin did as he said he would and left the Earth to report back to Lala's father. How he would react to the news was another thing entirely and that was what Goku was worried about.
Lala said that her father, while powerful, was someone who did things on a whim and rarely ever got serious and preferred to mess around, leaving members of his staff and his own wife to deal with the politics of Deviluke.
He was somewhat relieved by this, at least, he had hoped that her father was as she said he would be and not be angry at Lala for her decision to stay here.
The next morning, which was earlier today. As he got ready to go to school, Lala told him that she would be going somewhere once again.
When he asked where she would be going, she merely responded with a smile and said that he would find out sooner or later.
"How the heck did I get engaged to that girl in the first place...?" He questioned.
The teenage boy in him felt excited at the prospect of being engaged to such a beautiful girl such as Lala. However, the savvy part of his mind knew that such a thing came at a price, and most likely it would come in a form of craziness.
"Still, looks like I'll have to deal with it now. I guess I'll just have to figure out a way on how to get Lala to annul the engagement herself."
He looked at Haruna as he thought that, the girl was talking to her friends with a smile on her face.
Just seeing her like that put his mind somewhat at ease despite the shenanigans that happened in the past two days.
Earlier that morning...
"Sairenji, good morning!"
Goku came across Haruna as always on their way to school.
"Son-kun, good morning." She replied.
As the two walked, Goku could not help but think back to event that happened yesterday morning.
'Damn it, how am I going to explain that to her...?'
"Son-kun."
He snapped out of his thoughts when Haruna spoke his name.
"W-What is it?"
"That girl from the other day..." She began, and Goku himself started to sweat rapidly.
"Are you and her...?"
"No, no, no! That was a complete misunderstanding!"
"But that confession...?"
'Shit! How do I explain that...!?'
"T-That was...! I was just... Uh... a r-rehearsal! Yeah, it was a rehearsal!"
"A rehearsal...?"
"Y-Yeah! She was a family acquaintance, and she asked my help in rehearsing a scene for a film project that a friend of her's asked her help for."
"Ah, I see." Haruna nodded.
'Aw, damn it! Why the heck did I say that!?' He furiously began tearing at his hair in frustration. He wanted to say he was confessing to her, but didn't have the nerve.
He then sighed heavily as they continued walking, trying to look at the positive side of things.
'At least she brought it if that's any consolation... I still may have to deal with Lala herself, but at least she doesn't think I'm dating her or anything.'
"Son-kun?"
"Y-Yes?"
Haruna fidgeted slightly before finally speaking her mind.
"Do you think you can call me Haruna-chan... just like back then...?"
Goku blinked, surprised at the request. Now that he began to think about it, he had been referring to Haruna by Sairenji for quite a while now despite being acquainted with her closely. Perhaps it was also a side effect of being sorted into different classes for some time?
"Uh... sure, whatever you say Sai-I mean, Haruna-chan. And if you want, you can just call me Goku too if you want..." He rubbed his nose with his index finger, finding the conversation of theirs to be awkward.
Haruna smiled at that, and both felt their old bond coming back together after these past few years.
Goku had been smiling like an idiot as he remembered that, he was at least happy that he and Haruna were once again on a first name basis. Though he still felt down from being unable to confess to her.
'Still, it's not like it's the end of the world. I still have plenty of chances to do that. All I have to do is find the right opportunity!'
"Hey, Goku!" Saruyama walked up to him. "Did you hear?"
"About what?"
"We're getting a new transfer student today!"
"What?" Goku uttered in surprise.
A transfer student this late into the term? That was weird.
It was only after that did the teacher come into the classroom together with the new transfer student Saruyama talked about.
"I knew it, the universe hates me."
His ancestors, maybe his namesake for all he knows, must have angered the gods themselves at one point. Or maybe he picked a fight with one? That seemed very likely based on what his grandmother told him about his ancestor Goku.
"Yahoo~! Goku, I've become a student too~!"
The pink haired princess of Deviluke declared happily as almost all the students looked at her in awe of her beauty. Only two were not affected: One was Goku who only slammed his head on his desk while the other was none other than Haruna herself.
"She's that same girl..." She mumbled quietly.

Author's Notes:
Right... As you all have no doubt read, Goku Jr. is fundamentally different to the one in "Dragon Troubles" where he was inspired from and Rito himself.
I wanted to make him seem like Rito in a way (Shy around his crush, somewhat prone to misunderstandings, etc.) but with a dash of Goku (being brave, stands up for himself and his friends, strong, etc.)
As you've read, Goku's more open to the idea of letting Lala stay at his place and more worried about her than Rito ever was at the beginning. That's mostly because he, like his ancestor before him, is quite the nice guy who'd help anyone in trouble, no matter who they are. Sure he'd be annoyed at her, but I have Goku being the nice guy that he really is and can't stay mad at her for more than a few seconds.
His relationships with other characters are also different as Goku and Haruna are already friends prior to the start and only drifted away when they were in different classes. (I experienced such things in school too) Goku is also somewhat a celebrity, if that was not stated in the first chapter, because of his lineage. I mean, he's the grandson of the world's greatest martial artist and liar (No offense to Mr. Satan. I love the guy since he's hilarious and for his friendship with Buu.) One would think that being the descendant of two famous people would get him a little recognition, and also since I made him the champion of the junior division from the last episode of GT where he and Vegeta Jr. fought. He's somewhat lonely from that experience since most people saw him not as Goku the kid, but Goku the champion/hero descendant.
But that all changed when he met Haruna-chan ;)
Also, Vegeta Jr. will appear a lot more later after I've properly introduced most of the cast such Ren/Run, Golden Darkness/Yami, Yui, etc... He is Goku's rival after all. It would only make sense he'd appear more. I'll also introduce a few OCs from the custom races from Online/Xenoverse. (Saiyan, Namekian, Majin, and Frieza's Race.)
By the way, the story will start off just like To Love-Ru, but eventually it will delve into the other races such as the Glaeris, the name of Frieza's Race in the Malaysian dub, further into the story.
Signing off!
