When I said, 'I won't be able to post sometime after the new year', I totally meant six months later. I'm so terrible sorry, please don't hate me. I've been busy with work, getting distracted by video games, and some other things.

I recommend starting back at 'Colonel's Specialty Part Two', to avoid any confusion with the later chapters, but I would also recommend rereading the story for changes, I've made enough that I can't remember.

I will try to not go missing for that amount of time again, I hope.

Anyway enough with me rambling on to the continuation.

I DON'T OWN ANYTHING BESIDES MY OC's AND THE STORY!

Normal POV

Phineas awoke, panting, and covered in sweat from his nightmare. He quickly scanned the room and saw nobody there. He began to panic as he got out of bed; though the quick movement sent pain throughout his body, reminding him of his injuries. He used the next bed to support himself before quickly making his way to the door. He leaned on the doorframe, then stumbled out into the hallway searching for anyone. As he turned the corner and ran into Isabella and Gretchen, though surprised they caught him before he fell to the ground. They propped him against the wall, and tried to examine him.

"Phineas what are you doing out here? You should be in bed resting." Gretchen said as she examined him.

He quickly grabbed her and frantically asked, "Has the base been attacked, is everyone still alive?"

Isabella put a gentle hand on his shoulder and said, "Phineas it's okay, everyone is safe, and the base is still in one piece. Now I want you to take a deep breath, and calm down."

Phineas did as he was told, after a few breaths he calmed down.

"Good now back to bed with you." Isabella said as she and Gretchen helped him up and to walk back to the infirmary, they laid him in his bed, his back against the wall. Gretchen grabbed the medical tablet and scanned his body, she sighed in relief and said, "Lucky for you, no new injuries, what made you act that way Phineas?"

Phineas looked away, a look of worry formed on his face.

"Gretchen, will you give us a few minutes." Isabella asked. Gretchen nodded and left the room closing the door behind her.

Isabella put a hand on Phineas' shoulder, "Want to talk about it?"

"I just had a nightmare, that's all." Phineas answered avoiding the question.

"Phineas you were stumbling around in the hallways, you practically fell into Gretchen and me, and then started frantically asking if the base was attacked, and if everyone was okay. You had more than, 'just a nightmare.' Please Phineas I'm really worried about you, talk to me, it'll help." Isabella said concerned.

He turned to her and said, "I had a nightmare that the base was attacked and I saw everyone dead, you died in my arms, Ferb was lying on the ground, I saw Candace executed by Raymond, he said that, 'if I hadn't been a weakling.' I would have been able to help you guys, and then this borgified image of me appeared and killed me. That's when I woke up. I saw no one here and panicked that it might have been real and well, you know the rest."

"Well it's okay now Phineas, it was just a nightmare, everyone is safe and unharmed." Isabella encouraged

Phineas' expression didn't change; instead he looked down at his lap.

"Something else is bothering you though."

Phineas nodded wordlessly as he continued to look down, "All I could do was watch all of you die, and no matter how much I tried, I couldn't help any of you. I was useless, I still am useless, no matter what I do… I feel like I'm just a burden on the team sometimes. Ferb has everything in him to be a good soldier, while I don't really have much of anything."

"Phineas look at me."

Phineas looked up at her and she continued, "Phineas you're not useless, not everyone has to fight to prove their worth. You and Ferb almost single handedly rescued Candace from Doofenshmirtz's tower, you helped Baljeet hack into Doofenshmirtz's network. You've designed some of the best equipment in the resistance; you're not useless Phineas you are important.

"If I'm so important, then how about back at the prison, when we were being interrogated together. Would you have been willing to let me die to protect the resistance?"

Isabella was surprised by the question, "Phineas why are you bringing that up now, it's in the past and we're both still here."

"Yes or no" he asked sternly.

"Well… um… I…," Isabella couldn't really find the right words to answer the question.

A look of shock appeared on Phineas' face, "You were weren't you, and you were thinking it. Does a friendship even matter to you, do even care about anyone?"

In a snap Isabella eyes filled with anger, an anger only her enemies have seen.

"Let's get one thing straight Phineas, I care for everyone under my command, you no more than anyone else. When we were in that room, I nearly broke when Raymond was beating you. I cared about you Phineas, but I have to put the resistance ahead of everything, and until you understand that feeling, you have no right to accuse me of anything. Say anything else of the sort, so help me, I will tie you up, hang your from the ceiling, and beat you like a piñata until your insides spill.

With that Isabella marched out of the room, leaving a scared and pondering Phineas behind.
