I'm still alive!

I'm so sorry for not updating in, I think, 6 months? Anyway I'll try to get the next chapter up soon, but before I do. I have a poll on my profile, asking whether or not should I continue updating this story. This poll will be open until the end of December and the results might decide if this story continues or discontinues. Don't get me wrong I like writing this story, but if no one is reading it then why put in the effort.

Resistance Base

"Enhanced?" Candace questioned

"Like Perry and the OWCA agents, except with better weapons, better training, and an energy shield. We threw everything we had at it but nothing went through, except." Buford questioned.

He looked towards Ryan as he walked towards him and continued, "You managed to not only knock that thing down, but you managed to get through the shield, care to explain?"

"If you're trying to imply something Buford, then say it, I'd love to hear it." Ryan replied as he turned his body towards Buford, challenging him.

Eugene stood between them holding them both at arm's length, "Look… before you two go at it, it's a mark three energy deflection system, or EDS for short." Eugene spoke. "It's designed to protect the user from all forms of energy attack; however it's designed to block energy based attacks, not physical, like hand to hand or melee weapons."

"So the next time we face that thing all we need to do is get in close and personal? Great." Buford commented.

"You all saw how your shots just bounced off of it, there's really no other option." Eugene replied.

"That brings up the subject of how that thing dodged our hand attacks without any effort, it was like it knew what we were planning to do next, it was always one step ahead us." Ferb pointed out.

Candace looked towards Ryan, "Ryan any information you can give us about that thing?"

"Sorry, your guess is as good as mine; I didn't know that Doofenshmirtz started enhancing people with cybernetics. As for knowing your fighting technique, it may have just been it has a better knowledge of hand to hand combat tactics."

Candace sighed, "All right then, I want everyone to brush up on close quarters combat tactics and weapons. Baljeet, I want you and Arron to scour the network for any information on that thing. Next time we face it; I want everyone to be ready. I'm going to make a call to OWCA and see if we can get some help."

Doofenshmirtz's Tower

"Going soft Raymond? You had such a fighting spirit a few years ago, now you just run off and hide whenever you're in trouble." The borg teased.

Raymond leered, "Careful brat, at least I'm not overconfident in augmentation abilities; all that machinery in you and you still got beaten by a bunch of teenagers."

"Oh, I'll show you just what these abilities can do." It's arms then transformed into two laser cannons, Raymond drew his pistol, both aiming at each other, ready to fire.

"Enough," Doofenshmirtz's voice echoed throughout the room, "I will not have my two top commanders killing each other over a petty rivalry."

They gave each other a glare then lowered their weapons, and turned towards their leader.

"The Resistance is growing bolder every day, especially with their new found traitorous allies; we have a lot of internal problems in both the army and the network. Colonel I want you to make sure that the army remains loyal, Ryan's actions could inspire other acts of mutiny and betrayal."

Raymond nodded, "Yes, Sir."

Girlborg I want you to probe the network and find any anomalies. There is a leak somewhere, I want it plugged.

"Yes, master." She replied.

"Colonel has our, "friend" been successfully planted?"

"He was picked up with the others; we should have the exact coordinates of where they're hiding soon."

"Good, soon we end this nuisance once and for all. Raymond, leave us."

Raymond bowed and exited the throne room, a soldier started to walk beside him, "We've begun to purge any soldiers who are flight risks. The men loyal to you have been established to keep the others in line. We may serve under Doofenshmirtz, but the army is loyal to you, and awaits word of when it is time.

Raymond smiled, "Excellent, after the resistance is crushed, it will be time for a new Emperor to take power, and then for the world to fall in line.

"Yes, Sir." The soldier smiled.

Resistance Base.

As Ryan and Eugene were walking through the base, they accidentally bumped into one of the rescued prisoners. They said their apologies to each other and went their separate ways; Ryan looked back and took another look at the person as he walked away.

Eugene noticed, "What's wrong?"

"He looked familiar." He replied.

"Really, from where?"

"I don't know, but I feel like I've seen him before."

As the person turned the corner he checked his surroundings, before exhaling, "That was close, I was sure he was going to recognize me. Now where to find the communication room." He then continued to find his objective.
