On with the story!
Chapter 7: Saiyan meets Assassin
"So... this is Earth."
Just outside of Earth's orbit hovered a black spaceship.
Inside it, a young girl with long blonde hair wearing a black leather dress sat inside the cockpit.
"Lunatique, please bring up the image of the target."
"Yes mistress." The AI of the ship responded.
Soon enough, the screen that showed the planet Earth in its glory was replaced by the image of a young man with spiky black hair with a somewhat carefree expression on his face as he walked alongside a pink-haired girl of the same age.
"Son Goku... you are my target."
"Ah..." Goku yawned as he stretched his limbs. "I really do hate going to school so early in the morning."
"What are you talking about Goku? I've seen you wake up earlier than this even when there isn't school." Lala said.
The two were now walking towards Sainan High, being already near the school itself with still an hour before classes begin thanks to waking up in the morning earlier than usual.
They were also now wearing their winter uniforms, a few weeks having passed since they returned to the school after the summer and it was now October. Time flies by rather quickly when one didn't notice it.
"Yeah but at least I can get my body to move more than I do at school. Honnekawa-sensei's lessons can be a little boring."
As Goku and Lala walked past the entrance of the school, both noticed a black limousine pull up right in front of the gate.
"She's already back at school?"
"Eh? What are you talking about Goku?"
Before he could reply, a long red carpet was rolled out in front of the limo's doors towards and past the school gate by two men wearing black suits.
It was at that point two girls, second years from the color of their ribbons, walked towards it as the door opened. One of them was a tall girl with long black hair that was tied into a ponytail and the other was somewhat shorter and wore glasses.
The limo door was opened by the former and out stepped a female second year student with curly blonde hair. She was a rather beautiful girl that could probably have any boy swoon after her if she wanted too.
"Good morning, Saki-sama." The one with glasses said.
"Shall I take your bag?" The long haired one said.
"Please do."
It was at that moment that Saki had noticed both Goku and Lala staring at her among the many that were.
"Oh my, why if it isn't Son-kun." She smiled at him as her group walked towards the duo.
"It's been a while Tenjouin-san, have you been well?"
Saki Tenjouin, the heir to the influential Tenjouin family. It terms of wealth, the Tenjouin's were ranked third right behind his own family, whose fortune was gathered due to no small part of his ancestor, Hercule Satan. The first ranked would've been Vegeta's family since Capsule Corp is the lead developer of technology and other advances that humanity would use.
Although his Grandmother didn't really like using their fame and fortune, as well as opting to live in a simple home compared to a mansion, she does attend social gatherings out of respect for those who invited her as well as to sample their cuisines. She would often take along both Goku and Mikan, and it was at one of those gatherings that the former would meet the young Saki and her group.
Despite her somewhat arrogant and vain behavior, she was a good girl at heart who wouldn't hesitate to make use of her fortune to entertain her friends and help them in times of need.
"I have. My family business in Capsule City has been dealt with." Saki replied before taking notice of Lala. "Who is this?"
At that, the pinkette gave her a rather cheerful smile.
"Hello! I'm Lala~!"
"Lala...?"
"Lala Satalin Deviluke... She's the new transfer student that everyone in the school has been talking about recently."
The one that spoke was Rin Kujou, the girl with the long black hair. She had been Saki's bodyguard and childhood friend for years now. Despite her appearance, she was a master swordswoman and trained at the Kikoukenjutsu School.
She was also a participant in the Junior Division of the Tenkaichi Budokai six years ago. Although Goku didn't fight her, he saw her matches and could tell that was very good.
"Oh, I see." Saki nodded in response. "I was thinking that perhaps you were an upstart who was trying to become the most popular girl in school other than myself. But seeing as how you're friends with Son-kun, you can't be that bad."
"Huh?" Lala blinked, not expecting that sort of reply.
'She's still that vain...?' The young fighter noted while laughing slightly to himself.
"Saki-sama."
The girl with glasses, Ayako Fujisaki, known as Aya to her and Rin, spoke out as she pointed to her watch.
"Ah, but of course." The blonde nodded as she turned back to both Goku and Lala. "It's been nice seeing you again Son-kun, I have to go now."
"Right, we should probably be heading to class ourselves." The former replied before looking at Rin.
"Kujou-san, did you hear about the Tenkaichi Budokai?"
"I have, and I am entering as well. It is a good opportunity to sharpen my own skills after all. I expect that you are participating as well?" Rin asked while smirking slightly as she saw a smile form on Goku's face.
"I am! I'll see you in the ring then."
With that, the two groups parted with each other as they went to their respective classrooms.
"An Animal Cafe?"
The entirety of the students in Class 1-A said at the same time as they witnessed Saruyama writing upon the blackboard.
"That's right!" The boy exclaimed. "The Sainan High Festival is here! For the past few weeks, all the ideas that you lot submitted when I asked were nothing but average! Haunted House, a Candy Shop, a Play; it's all too damn average!"
"Does he really have to shout?" Goku muttered from his seat.
Then again, Saruyama was always the type to get fired up during events such as the Sainan Festival. So much that you'd think he was the Class Rep, not Haruna herself.
The other students voiced their complaints regarding the matter, most of whom were calling the idea stupid and boring in itself.
"It's not stupid! It's the time for the animals to rise! Charles Darwin's theory of Evolution shall be proven here with us!"
"What does that have to do with anything?" The young fighter once again muttered.
As he thought this, Saruyama once again yelled as he gestured to a few boxes in the corner of the classroom.
"Anyway girls, just try out the outfits I already had made! It would be worth a try don't you think?"
"Oh!"
The boys of 1-A collectively exclaimed in delight as they saw the girls dressed up in rather revealing animal costumes.
"This is the stuff Saruyama!"
"I know right?" The boy replied as he wiped off some drool from his face.
Goku himself was stunned into silence as he saw Haruna wearing a cat theme costume complete with ears. All in all, it made her look very cute.
The latter caught his look and both quickly turned their gaze away from the other the moment eye contact was made.
'Ugh... I can't believe I have to wear this.' Haruna thought embarrassed by her attire. 'Though... I wonder what Goku thinks?'
Goku on the other hand was feeling something different altogether.
'Geez... I can't even look at her straight when she's dressed like that.' He slipped a quick glance at the girl before turning away with a blush on his face. 'Never thought nekomimi would suit her though...'
"Goku! How do I look~?"
At that, the young man turned around to look at Lala who herself was wearing a tiger themed costume that accentuated her curves.
If it wasn't for the fact that the girl usually walked around the house naked after taking a bath, or the fact that she usually appeared in his bed asleep while also being naked, or the fact that her casual outfit as an alien was quite form-fitting itself, Goku was sure that he would've developed a nosebleed just by looking at her.
"It looks great." He just smiled at her, causing the girl to smile back. He frowned when he noticed the perverted gaze that was directed mostly towards her.
'Behave yourselves!' He directed a glared towards them that conveyed his thoughts. It reached them as they quickly flinched and nodded, diverting their attention elsewhere.
A few days later...
The Sainan High Festival had begun, the faculty and students setting up many booths of entertainment for the visitors as well as attractions. It went from food stalls to prize stalls, and so on and so forth.
Inside the Animal Cafe of Class 1-A...
"Huh? Where did Goku go?"
Lala could not help but voice out her thoughts when she noticed that the young man wasn't around inside the cafe that the students had set up.
"We're running out on supplies, so he went out to buy some himself." Saruyama explained as he came up beside the pinkette.
The girl nodded in response as the young man went off to help out the other students, though Lala couldn't help but feel something off.
"Lala-sama."
The people inside the cafe were stunned into silence as a rather handsome man with white entered the room while wearing a skeleton themed armor.
Lala on the other hand felt that the strange feeling that she had that day was actually coming from Zastin. It all made sense now; she thought to herself.
"Oh, Zastin. I didn't know you were back on Earth already." Lala said as Zastin pulled out a small packet of money.
"Here's your allowance for the month. I meant to give it to you earlier but Goku-dono's father asked me to help out with one of his manga's so I forgot." He said as he handed her the money while the girl accepted it happily.
Off to the side, the students, as well as the customers, looked on with both awe and curiosity.
"I know Lala-chi was a foreigner, but to think she had someone like that working under her." Risa commented.
"She must be the kid of some rich family or the daughter of an important politician." Mio added.
"Why is he wearing that armor? Is he a cosplayer?" Haruna asked, seemingly the only one among her friends that noticed that one particular trait.
Back to the two, Zastin looked around inside the cafe and surveyed the students there.
"Now that I think about it, where is Goku-dono? Aren't the two of you in the same class?"
"Goku went out to buy some supplies for our cafe. I think he might be back soon but who knows?" Lala replied. "Why? Are you looking for him?"
At that, Zastin's eyes narrowed and quickly motioned for Lala to follow him.
"Eh!? An assassin is after Goku!?"
On the rooftop the two were undisturbed as Zastin revealed the troubling information to the young princess.
"Yes, that is correct." He nodded. "My men received information that one of your suitors had contracted an assassin to kill young Goku-dono. We do not know which, but we should have a name soon."
"I'm also worried about Goku-dono. Despite what your father said, I believe that it's my duty to help him."
"What about the assassin? Do you know who it is?" Lala prodded.
"Yes, we had detected the ship that the assassin arrived in not too long ago but it disappeared from our sensors as soon as we did." Zastin explained. "However, we did manage to get an identification by scanning the ship."
"And?"
"The assassin is none other than Golden Darkness."
"...! I don't know who that is!"
*BAM*
The tension in the air disappeared as Zastin fell to the ground face first, he should've expected that given the princess' tendency to be somewhat airheaded!
"A-At any rate, we should start looking for Goku-dono right away!"
"Right; Peke!"
"Yes Lala-sama! I'm searching for Goku-dono's energy signature as we speak." Peke responded as her scanners searched throughout the city for the young man's presence.
*BEEP*
"...! Lala-sama! I have found it!"
"Alright, let's go~!"
Lala's outfit transformed into her white attire and she flew off into the sky.
"P-Please wait a moment Lala-sama! Don't leave me behind!" Zastin cried out as he quickly made his way down the building to pursue the Princess of Deviluke.
Why was it that his armor lacked a flight function similar to Peke's?
"I think that's enough."
Goku walked out of the convenience store carrying at least four plastic bags full of supplies for the cafe.
'This is better than just standing at the entrance as a doorman.' He thought as he walked through the streets of Sainan back to his school.
As he walked, he began seeing posters regarding the 67th Tenkaichi Budokai; telling fighters to sign up to see whether or not they would have what it takes to become the "Strongest Under the Heavens".
'It's about six months from now isn't it?' Goku was starting to wonder whether or not he should be taking days of from school because he was competing the tournament.
He knew for a fact that his grandmother would have no problem with him doing so. Being the one who encouraged him to take up martial arts in the first place, she would support his decision if he did so.
On the other hand, taking off days from school might lead to him falling behind in class. Although his grades were somewhat average these days, so he was somewhat reassured that he wouldn't. Besides, it wasn't like he was taking weeks off, not when the tournament. Perhaps days or even taking half-days.
Also, he was starting to get worried since unlike him, Vegeta didn't go to school and had loads of free time to himself after his tutorials ended. That meant ample time to get stronger, especially with the Capsule Corp's gravity chamber that the young man often trained himself in. Goku himself would occasionally join him inside whenever he had the time, but lately hadn't done so.
He stopped in his tracks as he saw a Taiyaki stand and decided to buy some for himself as he was feeling hungry. He then continued on his way with one in his mouth as his thoughts when back to the previous subject.
'That said, I wonder how the others are doing?'
By the others, Goku meant his other rivals; one of which included Vegeta's younger sister Bloom.
Bloom Leigh was a girl that was both a talented fighter and engineer despite her young age. Although she wasn't as powerful as her brother, she was craftier than him in a fight. She also had mean right hook, one Goku had experienced when he sparred with her one time. He would call it the "Super God Fist", a name which annoyed the girl to no end because of how silly it sounded.
'I wonder if Bloom is going to be participating?' He thought. 'She might be 14 years old, but she is strong. Beat and Note are probably going to enter themselves this year since this would be their first tournament after all.'
Son Beat and Son Note were none other than his twin cousins. The former being the boy with more brawn and the latter the girl with more brain. They also shared the same Saiyan blood that both Goku and Mikan had running in their veins. Though their lineage would come from the second son of his great ancestor, otherwise known as one of the co-founders of the Kikoukenjutsu Style; Son Goten.
They, along with Bloom, were unable to participate in the last tournament due to the age restrictions allowing only those ten and above to enter, with both Goku and Vegeta barely making it through at the time.
"Hmm?"
Goku stopped in his tracks as he noticed someone staring at him with an emotionless face.
That someone was none other than a young girl, probably around Mikan's age or perhaps older, that was leaning on a street railing. She had blonde hair, about as long as Lala's which reached past her waist, as well as red eyes. What he found strange about her was the outfit that she was wearing. It was mostly a black leather dress that was comprised of detached sleeves and many belts that covered her legs.
'Some sort of cosplayer...? No, wait, she's probably...' Goku thought before remembering that the girl was still staring at him. 'I wonder what she's looking at...? Wait, is she hungry or something?'
"Here."
"...?"
The girl blinked in surprise before staring at him curiously as Goku gave her a Taiyaki. She then quickly swiped it from his hands and ate in a flash much to the young man's surprise.
"Do you like it?"
"Yes." She nodded and spoke with a quiet voice. "But earthling food is strange."
"So you are an alien." Goku commented as the girl looked at him in surprise once more. "That would explain the weird feeling I've been sensing for a while now."
"Weird feeling?"
"Yeah, but it's kinda hard to explain." He replied.
Ever since that morning, he had been feeling a rather strange sensation. He had thought it might be due to another alien presence in Sainan as it was the same when some of Lala's suitors had arrived to try and take the girl away.
However, they had the excuse of being somewhat dangerous or annoying. This girl on the other hand was not giving off any ill intent whatsoever. But at the same time, Goku could feel her energy signature all the way from his school.
'Still... her Ki is really weird, even if she is an alien. I wonder how strong she is?'
"You're Son Goku, aren't you?"
"That's right. Is there something wrong?"
*SLASH*
"Whoa!"
Goku barely missed being sliced in half as the girl's hand became a sword. His uniform now had a horizontal hole in it.
'Her hand transformed!? That's kinda cool!'
"Mind telling me why you just did that?" Goku asked as he remembered the situation at hand. He stood up from the ground as the girl raised her sword-arm, pointing it at him.
"I have no grudge against you, but someone has asked that I eliminate you. So please die."
"Now that's just messed up. Who tells someone please die?"
*SLASH* *SLASH*
His mind readied, Goku easily avoided the girl's next two attacks much to her surprise as he landed behind her with an annoyed look on his face.
"C'mon! Can you at least wait for me to deliver these to my school before you attack me?" He raised the grocery bags in his hand.
"Hmm? It seems you're not at all worried that I am here to kill you."
"Well, you wouldn't be the first one. Lala's suitors are about as sure to try anything to take her away." Goku he commented as he scratched the back of his head. "And truth be told? You don't really seem all that dangerous to me."
The girl's eyes narrowed at those words.
*SLASH*
The groceries in Goku's hands were all quickly shredded to pieces much to the young man's shock.
"Wha...!? What was that for!?"
"Please do not look down on me. I will make you regret your words."
"Wait, what? No! That's not what I-!"
*SMASH*
The girl's hair turned into a giant wrecking ball and crushed the ground where Goku had just been standing as he dodged it.
"Wow, even your hair transforms too."
*SLASH*
He ducked as the girl tried cutting off his head. She then turned her remaining arm into another sword and dashed towards him.
"Look, can't we talk this over?"
"I'm sorry but once I take a contract I will not go back on it." She replied as she continuously swung her sword arms at him.
Goku growled to himself annoyed at her reply. He then smirked as he thought of something.
"Sorry! But I don't like fighting against little girls. See ya!"
*CRACKLE*
A burst of energy surrounded Goku and he flew off into the sky much to the young girl's shock. Her reports on the target did not specify that Son Goku had the capability to do such a thing much less fly.
"Little girl...?"
The blonde girl trembled in anger and annoyance. She did not like being looked down upon by others, especially by someone like him.
"Here."
"...?"
The girl had not expected him to do such a kind thing. She took it and quickly ate it, finding the taste to be very much to her liking.
She wondered to herself why such a memory appeared to her at that moment. Was she hesitating?
No, she had taken up a contract. And as an assassin, it was her job to see it through to the end. It didn't matter who her target was. As long as she was contracted to kill them, she would make sure that she wouldn't allow them to live.
That was what the girl known as Golden Darkness had told herself for many years now.
Gazing at him as he flew, a pair of white angelic wings appeared on her back and she gave chase to the young man.
*SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH*
Goku twisted and turned his body as the girl, much to his amazement, managed to catch up with him and tried to slice him apart with the blade arms and hair. The two of them fighting in the air as they flew.
However, it could not really be called a fight since the former wasn't even trying to land a hit on the blonde haired assassin. It was more like a game of cat and mouse with Goku being the mouse and the girl being the cat.
And now that he thought about it, he noticed that the girl's black hairpins actually resembled cat ears in a way.
'She's pretty good. The way she keeps aiming for my vital spots... I'd be dead if she attacked me when I was younger.' He wasn't sure how sharp her transformed blades were, but he wasn't willing to test it out on himself.
Golden Darkness was beginning to get frustrated. She, one of the best known assassins in the galaxy, was more or less being toyed with by the young man in front of her. Her attacks were easily being dodged as though she was moving very slowly. As far as she knew, Son Goku was a martial artist of great skill, but was still a mere earthling when compared to someone like her. He shouldn't be able to do things such as this!
"!"
She felt both of her blades being stopped as she saw that each blade was held between his two fingers of each of the young man's hands.
"What are you?"
"Me? I'm Goku." He smiled at her as he flicked both blades away, an action that bewildered Golden Darkness.
How had he done that? She didn't even see him move before doing what he just did!
The two of them came to a stop at a construction site just outside the city, their eyes staring at each other intently.
"Why is it that you don't fight back?" The girl asked. "I heard that you weren't the type to hold back, especially against women."
"And where exactly did you hear that?" Goku replied, feeling somewhat uneasy as the way she had said it was making him out to be a pervert.
"Goku~!"
Both looked up to see a certain pink haired alien princess flying towards them.
"Lala? Wagh!"
Goku was silenced when he felt his head being squished between Lala's breasts, his face heating up rather tremendously as he felt how soft they were.
"Thank goodness! I was so worried. You aren't hurt are you?"
"I'm not!" He exclaimed as he separated his head from her chest in order to breathe. "What are you doing here anyway?"
"I'm here to warn you that there's someone dangerous after you!" She explained. "One of my suitors hired an assassin to kill you!"
"Yeah, I already figured as much." Goku pointed to other person in the area.
Lala paused for a moment at that as she looked towards the blonde girl in black, a curious look on her face that was met with a stoic one coming from the other. It was also at that moment that the pinkette noticed the girl's arms which were still in their blade forms.
"Ah! It's the assassin!"
"You are Lala Satalin Deviluke, aren't you?" The girl asked. "Daughter of Gid Lucion Deviluke, conqueror of the northern galaxy."
"Please do not get in my way. That person is my target."
"I can't do that! Goku is someone who's very important to me!"
The blonde haired assassin narrowed her eyes at that.
"Is that so? Then I'll have to force you out of the way."
"I don't think so, Golden Darkness!"
*SLASH* *CLANG*
The girl raised both her arms as she blocked an incoming sword strike from none other than Zastin. With a light push from her, Zastin was blown back towards both Lala and Goku.
"And you are...?"
"Me? I'm the commander of the Devilukean royal-guard... and also!"
An aura of light surrounded Zastin, and Goku could not tell whether it was from his own power or if it was a gimmick of his armor.
"I am the assistant chief of Studio Saiba that the manga artist Son Saiba leads!"
"Assistant chief...?" Golden Darkness questioned with a blank expression on her face.
"That ain't something you brag about!" Goku exclaimed.
"I don't really get it, but it seems you also intend on getting in my way." Her eyes narrowed dangerously. "You leave me no choice!"
"So shall it be! I will be your opponent!"
The two combatants dashed towards one another with their weapons ready.
*CRACKLE*
"...!"
"What...!?"
Both were shocked to see Goku suddenly standing between them blocking both of their attacks with nothing but his index fingers. His aura was flared up quite briefly before dissipating.
"Hey now! It's rude to just ignore me."
He pushed them both back as the girl backed off to get some distance in between them, young man exchanging looks with both.
"Goku-dono! What are you...?"
"Don't interfere with us Zastin, I'm the one she wants after all."
"I know that! But for you to take on an assassin as dangerous as Golden Darkness is-"
"Golden Darkness huh?" Goku said as he looked towards the girl in question. "Sort of a flashy name don't you think?"
She didn't reply as she continued her silent gaze at him, making the young fighter sigh. He then looked back towards Zastin and said:
"Look, assassin or not, she's still my opponent. I don't like people butting in my fights when I don't ask them to, so stay there alright?"
"But...!"
Zastin wanted to argue but was stopped when he noticed Lala laying a hand over his shoulder.
"It'll be okay Zastin, I'm sure Goku will be alright."
"But Lala-sama...!"
"Don't worry about it." She simply said before looking directly at the boy and shouted. "Goku! If you get yourself hurt I won't forgive you! Okay~?"
"I hear you." Goku waved off as he did some stretches. It was always something he did before getting into a fight; serious or not.
He walked towards Golden Darkness with a smile on his face as he continued doing his stretches.
"You would face me on your own despite your allies wanting to help you?" She asked before a dangerous look appeared on her face. "Are you looking down on me? Thinking that you alone would suffice in defeating me?"
"Nope. It wouldn't be a fair fight if they helped me out, that's all there is to it."
The girl blinked in surprise, not expecting the answer.
"You are... a strange person."
"I get that a lot." Goku replied as he took a stance.
"Be warned, for at this moment I shall get serious."
At that, the girl's blonde hair transformed into many sharp blades that looked just like the ones her hands transformed into.
"Whoa, now that's kinda neat and scary the same time."
*SLASH*
Golden Darkness leaped at him and brought down both of her blade arms only for Goku to sidestep. She then quickly swung one horizontally as the young man jumped back.
*SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH*
A furious assault was begun by the girl as Goku parried each blow. To the normal human eye, their fight would've been nothing but a blur due to their amazing speed.
The echoes of each blade being parried by his finger resounded throughout the area. It sounded as though someone was hammering away at steel.
*SLICE*
However, as the battle went on, Goku noticed their surroundings were quickly being demolished by Golden Darkness.
'Damn, her blades really are sharp. I better move to a safer place so no one will get hurt.'
"Hey! Catch me if you can little girl!" He teased as he flew off, knowing that it would tick her off.
Sure enough, the girl's eyes narrowed rather dangerously and very quickly her attacks and speed became even more ferocious as she took to the sky to follow him once more.
"Wait for me!" Lala flew off as well in pursuit of them, wanting to see the end result of the battle.
"Ack! Don't forget about me Lala-sama!" Zastin bellowed as he ran after them. He really should get a flight function for his armor.
*SLASH*
"Whoa! That was close!" Goku nearly avoided being cleaved down south. "Guess you really don't like people calling you a little girl don't you?"
*SLASH* *SLASH*
The young fighter twisted and turned his body to once more avoid the incoming blades. It was really hard to fight against someone who didn't really enjoy herself in one judging from her stoic expression.
Now that he thought about it, each time the girl attacked him, her face was rather blank. She still had that dangerous expression on her face, but it was still somewhat blank as they fought.
"Oh~! I almost saw them!"
Both stopped as they looked down below to see a fat man looking up at them. More specifically, he was looking up at Golden Darkness. Up her skirt to be exact.
When she realized this, the girl quickly covered herself as her blades went back to normal.
"Hey there! Why don't you come play with Uncle~? Show me your panties~!"
"Is that the Principal?"
*SMASH*
Gigantic fists came down upon the fat principal and smashed him into the ground. Goku watched with a gaped expression as Golden Darkness turned her hair back to normal as she spoke.
"I hate perverts."
'I'm surprised you didn't just kill him!'
The girl turned her attention back towards the young fighter as blades once again formed from her arms and hair. An idea came to Goku's mind as he saw this and he figured out a way to end the battle quickly, a smile on his face as he thought so.
"Well since you have blades of your own, mind if I show you mine?"
"Eh?"
*CRACKLE*
Blades of energy formed around the young man's hands much to Golden Darkness and Lala's surprise.
"This is the Spirit Sword. One of the techniques that a friend of mine taught me a while back!"
*SLASH*
Golden Darkness watched in shock as her blades were easily cut apart. That should not have been possible!
Reacting quickly, she once again used her transform ability to form new blades and counterattack.
Their blades collided with each other, this time her did not break as easily and were holding their ground against Goku's Spirit Swords.
*SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH*
Several blows were traded between the two.
*SLASH* *SLASH*
Each attack parried by the other.
*SLASH*
Their respective weapons collided once more in a deadlock.
"I knew it." Goku spoke out.
"Eh?"
"Your transform ability." He began. "It's dependent on how much you concentrate that your transformations will hold. The moment I showed you this technique you were surprised by it and because of that you couldn't concentrate fast enough to react properly. The moment the principal appeared your blades went back to normal too. Am I right?"
Golden Darkness cursed herself for her own carelessness, her target had discovered one of her weaknesses.
However, in the end, it did not matter much. Seeing his abilities first hand, she would no longer allow herself to be surprised by anything else he pulled out from his bag of tricks. Her years of experience reminded her as much.
*SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH*
They broke off from one another as they stared each other down. Goku noticed that they had already landed near a shrine. He hadn't realized that they flew quite far.
"Say, mind if I ask you a question?" The young man began.
"That depends on what your question is." The girl replied.
"Why are you after me? I get that you'll fulfill your contract no matter what, but I have to ask what made the guy who hired you to want to kill me."
Golden Darkness remained silent for some time, unsure of herself if she should answer his question before making up her mind. She then opened her mouth and spoke.
"Son Goku is an atrocious fiend who has deceived Lala Satalin Deviluke. He is a sexual deviant who wishes to take over Deviluke by marrying her and create his own personal harem." She explained much to the young man's incredulity. "That is why I was hired by the client to kill you."
'Who the heck made me out to be a sex fiend!?'
"That's not true at all!" Lala stepped forward between the two. "Goku is a kind person, he would never do such a thing!"
Goku looked at the girl surprised by her outburst. He only chuckled briefly as he should've expected it from someone like her.
Golden Darkness on the other hand remained still, contemplating Lala's words. She remembered her encounter with the boy earlier that day. The way he was so friendly didn't really seem like he was faking it. And during their entire battle, she saw that he was smiling somewhat. Meaning that he was enjoying their little bout.
People such as him who enjoyed fighting were usually the honest ones. Whether they be good or bad, those enjoyed battle were always honest in what they do, and Son Goku was probably as the pink-haired princess stated; a good person.
"It does not matter..."
"Eh?" Lala blinked at the girl.
"Once I have accepted a contract... it is my duty as Golden Darkness to fulfill it to the very end."
"Eh!? But that's not right at all!"
"I don't expect someone who was raised in good hands to understand." The blonde assassin replied. "The difficulty of living in this universe alone is not something you can easily fathom."
Both Lala and Goku were stunned by her words, the former most especially.
"You're right. I probably can't understand." She began.
"But that's one of the reasons why I left the palace! There are a lot of things I don't know yet!"
Not expecting such a reply, Golden Darkness stared at the pinkette with a surprised gaze.
"What do you think you are doing Golden Darkness!?"
A voice bellowed and soon enough, a small spaceship appeared above the shrine much to both Goku and Lala's surprise.
"Your target is Son Goku! Quit wasting time and kill him!"
"That voice...? Is it you, Lacospo!?"
Soon enough, a beam shot down from the spaceship towards the ground and a rather small alien dressed in a rather ridiculous outfit appeared.
"Yo Lala-tan~! I'm here to pick you up!"
"Wait, he's the one who hired you to kill me?" He asked Golden Darkness and she nodded in response.
"Come Lala-tan! Let's get married~!" Lacospo said as he ran rather cheerfully towards Lala.
"No way! You're the worst person there is!" She stuck her tongue out at him much to his shock and grievance.
"T-The worst...?!" He gaped before glaring directly at Goku. "This all your fault Son Goku! I'll never forgive you!"
"Up yours you tiny midget!" Goku stuck out his middle finger at Lacospo. Normally he was well mannered guy not to do such things, but he was willing to make an exception this time since his troubles that day began with this tiny midget.
"T-Tiny midget...!? You'll pay for that!" He yelled before turning towards Golden Darkness.
"Golden Darkness! What have you been doing all this time!? You were supposed to kill him by now!"
"Good timing Lacospo. I have something to talk to you about."
"What?"
"The data I received regarding Son Goku is very different compared to what I have seen of him myself." She began as her eyes narrowed dangerously at Lacospo who began sweating in fear at her gaze. "You were supposed to give information, not lies or fabrications. Surely you weren't trying to deceive me, are you?"
"T-That is...!"
"Yami-chan! Don't believe anything Lacospo tells you!"
"Yami-chan...?" Goku looked at Lala curiously.
Lacospo began panicking, his hired assassin having turned on him. He then smirked as he remembered his one other trump card.
"Come out! Gama-tan!"
The ship beamed another into shrine grounds below. This time, it was a...
"A giant frog...!?" Goku exclaimed.
"An Irogaama!? Here of all places!?" Peke spoke out in shock.
"You know about it Peke?" Lala asked.
"Yes. If that's the real thing, then it's my natural enemy!"
"Now Gama-tan! Show them why they have to fear you!"
*SPIT*
"Eh!?"
The giant frog spat at Yami who barely dodged. However, some of it got caught on her sleeves and they began melting.
"Wahaha! How do you like it Golden Darkness!? This is the power of my Gama-tan's spit! It can dissolve any clothing in the universe!" Lacospo laughed arrogantly. "Now then Gama-tan! Strip her of her clothes as punishment for her insubordination!"
Yami readied herself for another assault. However, before anything else...
*BAM*
The frog was sent flying high into the sky much to Lacospo's shock as he looked to see Goku with his arm outstretched upward. The giant frog had disappeared from the scene without even doing much at all!
"M-My Gama-tan...!"
"That takes care of one thing." Goku looked see that Lala had disappeared.
When he looked towards Lacospo, he was surprised to see Lala appearing behind him with her fists outstretched.
"Lacospo! Behave yourself!"
A hundred punches sent by none other than Lala herself sent the alien flying towards the inside of his spaceship. Goku was very much surprised by this. He knew that Lala was quite strong but to pull of such a maneuver with ease was very impressive for someone who didn't really train how to fight.
"N-Now you've done it!" Lacospo's voice could be heard as he a cannon appeared on top of the spaceship and aimed itself towards the trio. "I'll destroy you all-"
Before he could finish, Goku had put both hands forward and yelled.
"MASENKO-HA!"
*BOOM*
Goku blasted the spaceship into smithereens, an action which shocked Yami due to the sheer power of his attack. It was equivalent to a battleship's positron cannon!
"Don't you think you overdid a little?" Lala asked as she inspected the ships remains.
"Nah." Goku walked forward as he pulled out Lacospo from the debris. "Guys like this can survive anything unless you deal the final blow directly."
He felt a presence behind him and he saw that Yami was there glaring at him.
"Is something wrong...?"
"You... you were holding back during our fight earlier, weren't you?" She asked, an angry look on her face. "That attack you just did could've easily put me down if you used it at the right opportunity. Yet you didn't. Are you looking down me?"
"Wait, what? No!" Goku realized what she was getting at and replied. "I didn't use it against you because fighting you was fun."
She blinked in surprise at him. Fighting her was fun?
"You're pretty good, better than some of the guys people here on Earth at least." He began. "If I used the Masenko against you, then it wouldn't have been a fair fight. You kept on using your transform ability in the fight, so if I used something that you couldn't do yourself, then it wouldn't have been fair at all."
A fair fight? She had been trying to kill him and he was worrying about a fair fight!?
"Also, when we were fighting..." Goku began as the girl looked at him. "You said you were going to kill me, but I couldn't sense any real killing intent coming from you even while you attacked me."
"What...?" She looked at him confused.
"It's kinda hard to explain, so I won't go into details." He said. "It's just that, it just seemed like you really didn't want to do it, even if you are an assassin. And that's the second reason why I couldn't go all out against you. Sorry."
Golden Darkness stared at him, unsure of how to feel regarding the young man. Her thoughts were interrupted by a certain pinkette.
"That's Goku for you! He's always considerate of other people before himself after all." Lala spoke up beside the boy.
"Speaking of which Princess, why did you and Son Goku help me out earlier?" Yami asked as she glanced at Goku. "I am an assassin who had been hired to kill him, so why?"
"Why? Because Lacospo was the one who behind it all after all! I couldn't let him deceive a cute girl like you Yami-chan!"
"True." Goku nodded in agreement. Deceiving cute girls was a sin among men, those who did so deserved to be punished! Alien or not!
"C-Cute...?" Yami blushed somewhat embarrassed by the words she was described as by Lala. "Y-You think I am cute...?"
"Eh? Is it offending in some way Yami-chan?"
"No... It's just the first time someone's said such a thing to me." She turned away.
"Now that I think about it," Goku began as he beckoned Lala to look at him. "Why do you call her Yami-chan?"
"Because it's shorter than Golden Darkness. Yami means Darkness in your language doesn't it? I think it's perfect~!"
"But it's not like she's a cat..." He muttered to himself as he looked towards the girl in question. "So, what do you plan on doing now? Your client is well... He lied to you right? Are you still going to target me?"
"Indeed. As I have said before, once I take a contract I will not go back on it." She gazed at the two. This time though, her expression wasn't as stoic and had a certain warmth in it.
"Until I have settled things with Son Goku, I shall not be leaving Earth."
"I figured as much." Goku sighed before smiling at her and extending his hand towards her. "Well, if it's a rematch you want, I'm happy to oblige."
Yami stared at his hand, once again surprised by his action. Truly Son Goku was the strangest person she had ever met.
"Ah, she flew off."
Lala said as Yami grew a pair of wings on her back and took off without returning Goku's handshake.
"I guess we'll be seeing her around then." Before raising his hand that had the unconscious Lacospo in his grip. "What should we do with this moron?"
"I'll have Zastin take care of him."
"Wait, where is Zastin?"
The completely forgot that Zastin had been with them that day. They looked around to see that he wasn't around.
In the streets of Sainan, Zastin was currently speaking with a police officer.
"Have you seen a spiky haired boy and a blonde-haired girl in black fighting each other with a pink-haired girl following them!?"
He was later arrested for disturbing the peace.
About a week later...
Goku walked to school together with Lala after finishing breakfast, their morning routine as usual.
"Son Goku."
He stopped in his tracks when he saw that Yami was standing in their path eating what looked to be Taiyaki.
"You're too carefree. You never know when someone will strike."
"You think so?"
He smiled as he said that, noting the way she was eating right now made her look as normal as any other girl her age. However, he knew better than to say anything regarding that to her face. She'd probably slice him in half.
"Yami-chan! Good morning~!" Lala exclaimed as she went up towards the blonde girl.
"Good morning, Princess." Yami replied.
As the two conversed with each other, Goku only sighed in relief that his latest problem had been dealt with. Although she said she was still gunning for him, Yami didn't take the opportunity to fight with him despite appearing in front of them on their way to school for the past few days since her appearance.
'Well, I guess this isn't so bad.'

Author's Notes:
Right, I've been meaning to post this chapter for a while now ever since I finished the last chapter. But things slowed me down...
I got my hands on a copy of Dragon Ball: Xenoverse the day after my posting! I've been playing it for the past week, it is awesome! I also manage to get a Day One Edition and thus now I have the use of Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta! Hahaha!
Back to the chapter itself:
I introduced Saki and company in the beginning as I said before with Yami taking up most of the chapter for her intro. I'm going to have Yami enter the World Tournament, and her reasons for doing so I think you all can imagine.
The next chapter would probably be filler material where Goku trains, has fun with Lala and company, etc... After that, I'm not sure. I'm still playing Xenoverse, so I won't be posting as fast as I did before. I might do Run's introduction and after that Lala's father would finally appear in person. After those two, I plan on writing the World Tournament.
Signing off!
